{Und} Ein Mann aus dem Hause Levi ging und nahm eine Nachfahrin Levis †zur Frau.

UN varón de la familia de Leví fué, y tomó por mujer una hija de Leví:

And there went a man of the house of Levi, and took to wife a daughter of Levi.

A man of the house of Levi went and took a daughter of Levi as his wife.

{Und} Die Frau wurde schwanger und gebar einen Sohn. Als (und) sie sah {ihn}, dass er gut (schön) †war, {und} verbarg sie ihn drei Monate (Monde) †lang.

La cual concibió, y parió un hijo: y viéndolo que era hermoso, túvole escondido tres meses.

And the woman conceived, and bare a son: and when she saw him that he was a goodly child, she hid him three months.

The woman conceived and bore a son. When she saw that he was a fine child, she hid him three months.

Als (und) sie ihn nicht länger verbergen konnte; {und} nahm sie für ihn ein Kästchen (Korb) †aus Schilf und dichtete (bestrich) es mit Erdharz und Pech ab. {und} Sie legte das Kind (den Knaben) hinein und legte †es in das Schilf am Rande des Nils.

Pero no pudiendo ocultarle más tiempo, tomó una arquilla de juncos, y calafateóla con pez y betún, y colocó en ella al niño, y púsolo en un carrizal á la orilla del río:

And when she could not longer hide him, she took for him an ark of bulrushes, and daubed it with slime and with pitch, and put the child therein; and she laid it in the flags by the river’s brink.

When she could no longer hide him, she took a papyrus basket for him, and coated it with tar and with pitch. She put the child in it, and laid it in the reeds by the river’s bank.

{Und} Seine Schwester stand in †einiger Entfernung, um zu erfahren, was mit ihm geschehen (getan) würde.

Y paróse una hermana suya á lo lejos, para ver lo que le acontecería.

And his sister stood afar off, to wit what would be done to him.

{Und} Die Tochter des Pharaos ging hinab, um am Nil (Fluss) zu baden, und ihre †Dienstmädchen gingen am Rande des Nils spazieren. Als (Und) sie das Kästchen inmitten des Schilfes sah, {und} sandte sie ihre Dienerin (Sklavin) und sie nahmen es.

Y la hija de Faraón descendió á lavarse al río, y paseándose sus doncellas por la ribera del río, vió ella la arquilla en el carrizal, y envió una criada suya á que la tomase.

And the daughter of Pharaoh came down to wash herself at the river; and her maidens walked along by the river’s side; and when she saw the ark among the flags, she sent her maid to fetch it.

Pharaoh’s daughter came down to bathe at the river. Her maidens walked along by the riverside. She saw the basket among the reeds, and sent her servant to get it.

{Und} Sie öffnete †es und sah {ihn} das Kind (den Knaben) - einen Jungen, weinend! - . Da (und) hatte sie Mitleid mit ihm und sagte: Dies ist einer †von den Knaben (Kindern) der Hebräer!

Y como la abrió, vió al niño; y he aquí que el niño lloraba. Y teniendo compasión de él, dijo: De los niños de los Hebreos es éste.

And when she had opened it, she saw the child: and, behold, the babe wept. And she had compassion on him, and said, This is one of the Hebrews’ children.

She opened it, and saw the child, and behold, the baby cried. She had compassion on him, and said, “This is one of the Hebrews’ children.”

Und seine Schwester sprach zu der Tochter des Pharaos: Soll ich gehen und für dich eine Frau als Säugamme von den Hebräerinnen rufen, damit sie das Kind (den Knaben) für dich stillt?

Entonces su hermana dijo á la hija de Faraón: ¿Iré á llamarte un ama de las Hebreas, para que te críe este niño?

Then said his sister to Pharaoh’s daughter, Shall I go and call to thee a nurse of the Hebrew women, that she may nurse the child for thee?

Then his sister said to Pharaoh’s daughter, “Should I go and call a nurse for you from the Hebrew women, that she may nurse the child for you?”

Da sagte die Tochter des Pharaos zu ihr: Geh! Also (und) ging das Mädchen und rief die Mutter des Kindes (Knaben).

Y la hija de Faraón respondió: Ve. Entonces fué la doncella, y llamó á la madre del niño;

And Pharaoh’s daughter said to her, Go. And the maid went and called the child’s mother.

Pharaoh’s daughter said to her, “Go.” The young woman went and called the child’s mother.

Und die Tochter des Pharaos sagte zu ihr: Nimm diesen Knaben (dieses Kind) und stille ihn für mich, und ich werde †dir deinen Lohn geben. Da (und) nahm die Frau den Knaben (das Kind) und stillte ihn.

A la cual dijo la hija de Faraón: Lleva este niño, y críamelo, y yo te lo pagaré. Y la mujer tomó al niño, y criólo.

And Pharaoh’s daughter said unto her, Take this child away, and nurse it for me, and I will give thee thy wages. And the woman took the child, and nursed it.

Pharaoh’s daughter said to her, “Take this child away, and nurse him for me, and I will give you your wages.” The woman took the child, and nursed him.

Als (und) das Kind (der Knabe) gewachsen (groß/größer geworden) war (wuchs), {und} brachte sie ihn zur Tochter des Pharaos, und er wurde ihr Sohn. {und} Sie gab ihm den Namen Mose und sagte: Weil ich ihn aus dem Wasser gezogen habe!

Y como creció el niño, ella lo trajo á la hija de Faraón, la cual lo prohijó, y púsole por nombre Moisés, diciendo: Porque de las aguas lo saqué.

And the child grew, and she brought him unto Pharaoh’s daughter, and he became her son. And she called his name Moses: and she said, Because I drew him out of the water.

Und es geschah in jenen Tagen, als Mose groß geworden war. Da ging er heraus zu seinen Brüdern und sah ihren Frondienst (ihr Lasttragen). Da sah er einen ägyptischen Mann einen hebräischen Mann von seinen Brüdern schlagen.

Y en aquellos días acaeció que, crecido ya Moisés, salió á sus hermanos, y vió sus cargas: y observó á un Egipcio que hería á uno de los Hebreos, sus hermanos.

And it came to pass in those days, when Moses was grown, that he went out unto his brethren, and looked on their burdens: and he spied an Egyptian smiting an Hebrew, one of his brethren.

In those days, when Moses had grown up, he went out to his brothers and saw their burdens. He saw an Egyptian striking a Hebrew, one of his brothers.

Und er wendete sich hierher und dorthin (so und so) und sah, dass kein †anderer Mann †da war (und sah niemanden). Da schlug er den Ägypter und verscharrte ihn im Sand.

Y miró á todas partes, y viendo que no parecía nadie, mató al Egipcio, y escondiólo en la arena.

And he looked this way and that way, and when he saw that there was no man, he slew the Egyptian, and hid him in the sand.

Und am zweiten Tag ging er wieder heraus. Und siehe, zwei hebräische Männer stritten sich. Da sprach er zu dem, der im Unrecht war: Warum schlägst du deinen Volksgenossen?

Y salió al día siguiente, y viendo á dos Hebreos que reñían, dijo al que hacía la injuria: ¿Por qué hieres á tu prójimo?

And when he went out the second day, behold, two men of the Hebrews strove together: and he said to him that did the wrong, Wherefore smitest thou thy fellow?

He went out the second day, and behold, two men of the Hebrews were fighting with each other. He said to him who did the wrong, “Why do you strike your fellow?”

Und er antwortete (sprach): Wer hat dich gestellt zum Aufseher und zum Richter (Mann des Aufsehens und Richtens) über uns? Willst du mich töten - sprach er - wie du den Ägypter getötet hast? Und Mose fürchtete sich und sprach: Fürwahr! Die Sache ist bekannt geworden.

Y él respondió: ¿Quién te ha puesto á ti por príncipe y juez sobre nosotros? ¿piensas matarme como mataste al Egipcio? Entonces Moisés tuvo miedo, y dijo: Ciertamente esta cosa es descubierta.

And he said, Who made thee a prince and a judge over us? intendest thou to kill me, as thou killedst the Egyptian? And Moses feared, and said, Surely this thing is known.

He said, “Who made you a prince and a judge over us? Do you plan to kill me, as you killed the Egyptian?” Moses was afraid, and said, “Surely this thing is known.”

Und der Pharao hörte von dieser Sache und trachtete danach, Mose zu töten. Da floh Mose vor dem Pharao und blieb (ließ sich nieder) im Lande Midian und setzte sich auf den Brunnen.

Y oyendo Faraón este negocio, procuró matar á Moisés: mas Moisés huyó de delante de Faraón, y habitó en la tierra de Madián; y sentóse junto á un pozo.

Now when Pharaoh heard this thing, he sought to slay Moses. But Moses fled from the face of Pharaoh, and dwelt in the land of Midian: and he sat down by a well.

Und der Priester von Midian hatte sieben Töchter. Und sie kamen und schöpften und füllten die Wassertröge, um das Vieh ihres Vaters zu tränken.

Tenía el sacerdote de Madián siete hijas, las cuales vinieron á sacar agua, para llenar las pilas y dar de beber á las ovejas de su padre.

Und es kamen die Hirten und vertrieben sie. Da stand Mose auf und half ihnen (rettete sie) und tränkte das Vieh.

Und sie kamen zu Re'uël, ihrem Vater. Und er sprach: Warum habt ihr euch heute †so beeilt, †zurück zu kommen?

Y volviendo ellas á Ragüel su padre, díjoles él: ¿Por qué habéis hoy venido tan presto?

And when they came to Reuel their father, he said, How is it that ye are come so soon to day?

When they came to Reuel, their father, he said, “How is it that you have returned so early today?”

Da antworteten (sagten) sie: Ein ägyptischer Mann hat uns gerettet vor der Hand (Gewalt) der Hirten. Und auch schöpfte {und} schöpfte er für uns und tränkte das Vieh.

Y ellas respondieron: Un varón Egipcio nos defendió de mano de los pastores, y también nos sacó el agua, y abrevó las ovejas.

And they said, An Egyptian delivered us out of the hand of the shepherds, and also drew water enough for us, and watered the flock.

They said, “An Egyptian delivered us out of the hand of the shepherds, and moreover he drew water for us, and watered the flock.”

Da sprach er zu seinen Töchtern: Und wo ist er? Warum habt ihr den Mann da zurückgelassen? Ruft ihn und er soll mit uns essen!

Y dijo á sus hijas: ¿Y dónde está? ¿por qué habéis dejado ese hombre? llamadle para que coma pan.

And he said unto his daughters, And where is he? why is it that ye have left the man? call him, that he may eat bread.

He said to his daughters, “Where is he? Why is it that you have left the man? Call him, that he may eat bread.”

Und Mose entschloss isch bei dem Mann zu bleiben. Und er gab Zippora, seine Tochter, {dem} Mose {zur Frau}.

Y Moisés acordó en morar con aquel varón; y él dió á Moisés á su hija Séphora:

And Moses was content to dwell with the man: and he gave Moses Zipporah his daughter.

Und sie gebar einen Sohn. Und er nannte seinen Namen Gerschom, denn er sprach: Ein Fremder bin ich gewesen in einem fremden Land.

La cual le parió un hijo, y él le puso por nombre Gersom: porque dijo: Peregrino soy en tierra ajena.

And she bare him a son, and he called his name Gershom: for he said, I have been a stranger in a strange land.

She bore a son, and he named him Gershom, for he said, “I have lived as a foreigner in a foreign land.”

Und {es geschah} in jenen vielen Tagen (während jener langen Zeit) {und} starb der König von Ägypten. {und} Die Kinder (Söhne) Israels stöhnten wegen der Sklavenarbeit (Knechtschaft, Arbeit), und sie schrien, und ihr Hilferuf erreichte (ging hinauf zu) Gott wegen der Sklavenarbeit (Knechtschaft, Arbeit).

Y aconteció que después de muchos días murió el rey de Egipto, y los hijos de Israel suspiraron á causa de la servidumbre, y clamaron: y subió á Dios el clamor de ellos con motivo de su servidumbre.

And it came to pass in process of time, that the king of Egypt died: and the children of Israel sighed by reason of the bondage, and they cried, and their cry came up unto God by reason of the bondage.

In the course of those many days, the king of Egypt died, and the children of Israel sighed because of the bondage, and they cried, and their cry came up to God because of the bondage.

Da (und) hörte Gott ihr Stöhnen (Wehklagen) und Gott erinnerte sich (dachte) an seinen Bund mit Abraham, {mit} Isaak und {mit} Jakob.

Y oyó Dios el gemido de ellos, y acordóse de su pacto con Abraham, Isaac y Jacob.

And God heard their groaning, and God remembered his covenant with Abraham, with Isaac, and with Jacob.
