Um homem da tribo de Levi casou-se com uma mulher descendente de Levi.

UN varón de la familia de Leví fué, y tomó por mujer una hija de Leví:

And there went a man of the house of Levi, and took to wife a daughter of Levi.

A man of the house of Levi went and took a daughter of Levi as his wife.

A mulher engravidou e deu à luz um filho. Quando ela viu que ele era um menino formoso, ela o escondeu por três meses.

La cual concibió, y parió un hijo: y viéndolo que era hermoso, túvole escondido tres meses.

And the woman conceived, and bare a son: and when she saw him that he was a goodly child, she hid him three months.

The woman conceived and bore a son. When she saw that he was a fine child, she hid him three months.

Mas, quando ela não pôde mais escondê-lo, tomou um cesto de junco e o revestiu de betume e piche. Depois colocou a criança dentro dele e o pôs nas águas, ao longo da margem do rio.

Pero no pudiendo ocultarle más tiempo, tomó una arquilla de juncos, y calafateóla con pez y betún, y colocó en ella al niño, y púsolo en un carrizal á la orilla del río:

And when she could not longer hide him, she took for him an ark of bulrushes, and daubed it with slime and with pitch, and put the child therein; and she laid it in the flags by the river’s brink.

When she could no longer hide him, she took a papyrus basket for him, and coated it with tar and with pitch. She put the child in it, and laid it in the reeds by the river’s bank.

Sua irmã ficou a certa distância para observar o que aconteceria com ele.

Y paróse una hermana suya á lo lejos, para ver lo que le acontecería.

And his sister stood afar off, to wit what would be done to him.

A filha de Faraó desceu ao rio para banhar-se, enquanto suas servas caminhavam pela margem. Ela viu o cesto entre os juncos e enviou uma serva para pegá-lo.

Y la hija de Faraón descendió á lavarse al río, y paseándose sus doncellas por la ribera del río, vió ella la arquilla en el carrizal, y envió una criada suya á que la tomase.

And the daughter of Pharaoh came down to wash herself at the river; and her maidens walked along by the river’s side; and when she saw the ark among the flags, she sent her maid to fetch it.

Pharaoh’s daughter came down to bathe at the river. Her maidens walked along by the riverside. She saw the basket among the reeds, and sent her servant to get it.

Quando o abriu, viu a criança. Diante dela, a criança chorava. Ela teve compaixão dele e disse: "Esta é, certamente, uma criança hebreia".

Y como la abrió, vió al niño; y he aquí que el niño lloraba. Y teniendo compasión de él, dijo: De los niños de los Hebreos es éste.

And when she had opened it, she saw the child: and, behold, the babe wept. And she had compassion on him, and said, This is one of the Hebrews’ children.

She opened it, and saw the child, and behold, the baby cried. She had compassion on him, and said, “This is one of the Hebrews’ children.”

Então, a irmã da criança disse à filha de Faraó: "Queres que eu vá e encontre uma mulher hebreia para alimentar a criança para a senhora?".

Entonces su hermana dijo á la hija de Faraón: ¿Iré á llamarte un ama de las Hebreas, para que te críe este niño?

Then said his sister to Pharaoh’s daughter, Shall I go and call to thee a nurse of the Hebrew women, that she may nurse the child for thee?

Then his sister said to Pharaoh’s daughter, “Should I go and call a nurse for you from the Hebrew women, that she may nurse the child for you?”

A filha de Faraó respondeu: "Vai". Então, a jovem foi e trouxe a mãe da criança.

Y la hija de Faraón respondió: Ve. Entonces fué la doncella, y llamó á la madre del niño;

And Pharaoh’s daughter said to her, Go. And the maid went and called the child’s mother.

A filha de Faraó disse à mãe da criança: "Leva este menino e o amamenta para mim; eu te pagarei salário. Então, a mulher o levou e o amamentou.

A la cual dijo la hija de Faraón: Lleva este niño, y críamelo, y yo te lo pagaré. Y la mujer tomó al niño, y criólo.

And Pharaoh’s daughter said unto her, Take this child away, and nurse it for me, and I will give thee thy wages. And the woman took the child, and nursed it.

Pharaoh’s daughter said to her, “Take this child away, and nurse him for me, and I will give you your wages.” The woman took the child, and nursed him.

Quando o menino cresceu um pouco mais, ela o trouxe para a filha de Faraó e ele se tornou filho dela. Ela o chamou de Moisés, dizendo: "Porque das águas o tirei".

Y como creció el niño, ella lo trajo á la hija de Faraón, la cual lo prohijó, y púsole por nombre Moisés, diciendo: Porque de las aguas lo saqué.

And the child grew, and she brought him unto Pharaoh’s daughter, and he became her son. And she called his name Moses: and she said, Because I drew him out of the water.

Quando Moisés cresceu, ele foi até seu povo e observou seu penoso trabalho. Certo dia, ele viu um egípcio surrando um hebreu, alguém de seu próprio povo.

Y en aquellos días acaeció que, crecido ya Moisés, salió á sus hermanos, y vió sus cargas: y observó á un Egipcio que hería á uno de los Hebreos, sus hermanos.

And it came to pass in those days, when Moses was grown, that he went out unto his brethren, and looked on their burdens: and he spied an Egyptian smiting an Hebrew, one of his brethren.

In those days, when Moses had grown up, he went out to his brothers and saw their burdens. He saw an Egyptian striking a Hebrew, one of his brothers.

Ele olhou para um lado e para o outro e, quando viu que não havia ninguém ali, matou o egípcio e escondeu seu corpo na areia.

Y miró á todas partes, y viendo que no parecía nadie, mató al Egipcio, y escondiólo en la arena.

And he looked this way and that way, and when he saw that there was no man, he slew the Egyptian, and hid him in the sand.

E tornou a sair no dia seguinte e se deparou com dois hebreus lutando. Ele disse para aquele que iniciou a briga: "Por que estás batendo em seu companheiro?".

Y salió al día siguiente, y viendo á dos Hebreos que reñían, dijo al que hacía la injuria: ¿Por qué hieres á tu prójimo?

And when he went out the second day, behold, two men of the Hebrews strove together: and he said to him that did the wrong, Wherefore smitest thou thy fellow?

He went out the second day, and behold, two men of the Hebrews were fighting with each other. He said to him who did the wrong, “Why do you strike your fellow?”

Mas o homem lhe respondeu: "Quem te fez um líder e juiz sobre nós? Estás planejando me matar, como fizeste ao egípcio?". Então Moisés ficou com medo e pensou: "O que eu fiz, certamente, tornou-se conhecido dos outros".

Y él respondió: ¿Quién te ha puesto á ti por príncipe y juez sobre nosotros? ¿piensas matarme como mataste al Egipcio? Entonces Moisés tuvo miedo, y dijo: Ciertamente esta cosa es descubierta.

And he said, Who made thee a prince and a judge over us? intendest thou to kill me, as thou killedst the Egyptian? And Moses feared, and said, Surely this thing is known.

He said, “Who made you a prince and a judge over us? Do you plan to kill me, as you killed the Egyptian?” Moses was afraid, and said, “Surely this thing is known.”

Faraó, ao ouvir a respeito disso, tentou matar Moisés. Mas Moisés fugiu e escondeu-se na terra de Midiã. Lá, ficou sentado perto de um poço.

Y oyendo Faraón este negocio, procuró matar á Moisés: mas Moisés huyó de delante de Faraón, y habitó en la tierra de Madián; y sentóse junto á un pozo.

Now when Pharaoh heard this thing, he sought to slay Moses. But Moses fled from the face of Pharaoh, and dwelt in the land of Midian: and he sat down by a well.

O pastor de Midiã tinha sete filhas. Elas vieram, tiraram água, e encheram os coxos para dar de beber ao rebanho de seu pai.

Tenía el sacerdote de Madián siete hijas, las cuales vinieron á sacar agua, para llenar las pilas y dar de beber á las ovejas de su padre.

Os pastores vieram e tentaram tirá-las de lá, mas Moisés levantou-se e as defendeu. E, então, deu de beber ao rebanho delas.

Quando as moças foram até Reuel, seu pai, ele lhes disse: "Por que voltastes para casa mais cedo?".

And when they came to Reuel their father, he said, How is it that ye are come so soon to day?

Elas responderam: "Um egípcio nos resgatou dos pastores. Ele até deu de beber a nós e ao rebanho".

Y ellas respondieron: Un varón Egipcio nos defendió de mano de los pastores, y también nos sacó el agua, y abrevó las ovejas.

And they said, An Egyptian delivered us out of the hand of the shepherds, and also drew water enough for us, and watered the flock.

They said, “An Egyptian delivered us out of the hand of the shepherds, and moreover he drew water for us, and watered the flock.”

Ele disse às filhas: "E onde ele está? Por que o deixastes? Chamai-o para que possa comer conosco".

Y dijo á sus hijas: ¿Y dónde está? ¿por qué habéis dejado ese hombre? llamadle para que coma pan.

And he said unto his daughters, And where is he? why is it that ye have left the man? call him, that he may eat bread.

He said to his daughters, “Where is he? Why is it that you have left the man? Call him, that he may eat bread.”

Moisés concordou em ficar com aquele homem, que também lhe deu sua filha Zípora em casamento.

Y Moisés acordó en morar con aquel varón; y él dió á Moisés á su hija Séphora:

And Moses was content to dwell with the man: and he gave Moses Zipporah his daughter.

Ela deu à luz um filho, e Moisés deu-lhe o nome de Gérson, dizendo: "Eu tenho sido peregrino numa terra estrangeira".

La cual le parió un hijo, y él le puso por nombre Gersom: porque dijo: Peregrino soy en tierra ajena.

And she bare him a son, and he called his name Gershom: for he said, I have been a stranger in a strange land.

She bore a son, and he named him Gershom, for he said, “I have lived as a foreigner in a foreign land.”

Muito tempo depois, o rei do Egito morreu. Os israelitas queixaram-se devido ao trabalho escravo. Eles imploraram por socorro, e suas súplicas chegaram a Deus por causa da Sua misericórdia.

Y aconteció que después de muchos días murió el rey de Egipto, y los hijos de Israel suspiraron á causa de la servidumbre, y clamaron: y subió á Dios el clamor de ellos con motivo de su servidumbre.

And it came to pass in process of time, that the king of Egypt died: and the children of Israel sighed by reason of the bondage, and they cried, and their cry came up unto God by reason of the bondage.

In the course of those many days, the king of Egypt died, and the children of Israel sighed because of the bondage, and they cried, and their cry came up to God because of the bondage.

Quando Deus ouviu o clamor dos hebreus, trouxe à memória Sua aliança com Abrãao, com Isaque e com Jacó.

Y oyó Dios el gemido de ellos, y acordóse de su pacto con Abraham, Isaac y Jacob.

And God heard their groaning, and God remembered his covenant with Abraham, with Isaac, and with Jacob.

Deus olhou para os israelitas e entendeu sua situação.
