Or, il y avait un homme de la tribu de Lévi qui épousa une des filles de Lévi.

UN varón de la familia de Leví fué, y tomó por mujer una hija de Leví:

Elle conçut, et elle enfanta un garçon, et, l'ayant vu plein de grâces, ils le cachèrent pendant trois lunes.

Lorsqu'ils ne purent le cacher plus longtemps, sa mère prépara pour lui une corbeille qu'elle couvrit d'un enduit de poix et de bitume ; elle y plaça l'enfant, et elle posa la corbeille dans le marais sur la rive du fleuve.

Pero no pudiendo ocultarle más tiempo, tomó una arquilla de juncos, y calafateóla con pez y betún, y colocó en ella al niño, y púsolo en un carrizal á la orilla del río:

And when she could not longer hide him, she took for him an ark of bulrushes, and daubed it with slime and with pitch, and put the child therein; and she laid it in the flags by the river’s brink.

Comme la sœur de l'enfant observait de loin pour savoir ce qu'il deviendrait.

La fille du Pharaon descendit au fleuve pour se baigner, tandis que ses servantes se promenaient sur la rive ; elle aperçut dans le marais la corbeille, et elle envoya une servante, qui la retira.

Y la hija de Faraón descendió á lavarse al río, y paseándose sus doncellas por la ribera del río, vió ella la arquilla en el carrizal, y envió una criada suya á que la tomase.

And the daughter of Pharaoh came down to wash herself at the river; and her maidens walked along by the river’s side; and when she saw the ark among the flags, she sent her maid to fetch it.

L'ayant ouverte, elle vit un enfant pleurant dans la corbeille ; aussitôt la fille du Pharaon résolut de le sauver, et elle dit : C'est un enfant des Hébreux.

Et la sœur dit à la fille du Pharaon : Veux-tu que je t'appelle une nourrice, parmi les femmes des hébreux, pour allaiter l'enfant ?

Entonces su hermana dijo á la hija de Faraón: ¿Iré á llamarte un ama de las Hebreas, para que te críe este niño?

Then said his sister to Pharaoh’s daughter, Shall I go and call to thee a nurse of the Hebrew women, that she may nurse the child for thee?

Va, dit la fille du Pharaon ; et la jeune fille, étant partie, appela la mère de l'enfant.

Y la hija de Faraón respondió: Ve. Entonces fué la doncella, y llamó á la madre del niño;

And Pharaoh’s daughter said to her, Go. And the maid went and called the child’s mother.

La fille du Pharaon dit à celle-ci : Soigne-moi cet enfant, et allaite-le, je te donnerai une récompense ; la femme prit donc l'enfant et l'allaita.

A la cual dijo la hija de Faraón: Lleva este niño, y críamelo, y yo te lo pagaré. Y la mujer tomó al niño, y criólo.

And Pharaoh’s daughter said unto her, Take this child away, and nurse it for me, and I will give thee thy wages. And the woman took the child, and nursed it.

L'enfant s'étant développé, elle le conduisit à la fille du Pharaon ; et il fut pour elle comme un fils, et elle le nomma Moïse, car, dit-elle, nous l'avons retiré de l'eau.

Y como creció el niño, ella lo trajo á la hija de Faraón, la cual lo prohijó, y púsole por nombre Moisés, diciendo: Porque de las aguas lo saqué.

And the child grew, and she brought him unto Pharaoh’s daughter, and he became her son. And she called his name Moses: and she said, Because I drew him out of the water.

Or, il arriva qu'après bien des jours, Moïse, étant devenu un homme, sortit près de ses frères les fils d'Israël ; il pensait à leurs souffrances, lorsqu'il aperçut un Égyptien qui frappait un Hébreu, l'un de ses frères les enfants d'Israël.

And it came to pass in those days, when Moses was grown, that he went out unto his brethren, and looked on their burdens: and he spied an Egyptian smiting an Hebrew, one of his brethren.

Après avoir regardé tout alentour, ne voyant personne, il tua l'Égyptien, et il l'enfouit dans le sable.

Le jour suivant, étant sorti, il vit deux Hébreux en venir aux mains, e il dit à celui qui avait tort : Pourquoi frappes-tu ton frère ?

And when he went out the second day, behold, two men of the Hebrews strove together: and he said to him that did the wrong, Wherefore smitest thou thy fellow?

Celui-ci dit : Qui t'a établi chef et juge sur nous ? Veux-tu me tuer comme tu as tué hier l'Égyptien ? Moïse fut saisi de crainte, et il se dit : La chose est-elle connue à ce point ?

Y él respondió: ¿Quién te ha puesto á ti por príncipe y juez sobre nosotros? ¿piensas matarme como mataste al Egipcio? Entonces Moisés tuvo miedo, y dijo: Ciertamente esta cosa es descubierta.

And he said, Who made thee a prince and a judge over us? intendest thou to kill me, as thou killedst the Egyptian? And Moses feared, and said, Surely this thing is known.

He said, “Who made you a prince and a judge over us? Do you plan to kill me, as you killed the Egyptian?” Moses was afraid, and said, “Surely this thing is known.”

Le Pharaon, l'ayant apprise, voulut faire périr Moïse ; mais celui-ci s'éloigna de la face du Pharaon ; il passa en la terre de Madian, et, étant arrivé en la terre de Madian, il s'assit auprès d'un puits.

Y oyendo Faraón este negocio, procuró matar á Moisés: mas Moisés huyó de delante de Faraón, y habitó en la tierra de Madián; y sentóse junto á un pozo.

And he said unto his daughters, And where is he? why is it that ye have left the man? call him, that he may eat bread.

Et Moïse demeura chez l'homme, qui bientôt donna pour femme à Moïse sa fille Séphora.

Cependant, après un grand nombre de jours mourut le roi d'Égypte ; en ce temps-là les fils d'Israël gémissaient à cause de leurs travaux, et poussaient des cris de douleur, et les cris qu'ils jetèrent, à cause de leurs travaux, montèrent jusqu'à Dieu.

Y aconteció que después de muchos días murió el rey de Egipto, y los hijos de Israel suspiraron á causa de la servidumbre, y clamaron: y subió á Dios el clamor de ellos con motivo de su servidumbre.

And it came to pass in process of time, that the king of Egypt died: and the children of Israel sighed by reason of the bondage, and they cried, and their cry came up unto God by reason of the bondage.
