Und es ging hin ein Mann vom Hause Levi und nahm eine Tochter Levis.

UN varón de la familia de Leví fué, y tomó por mujer una hija de Leví:

And there went a man of the house of Levi, and took to wife a daughter of Levi.

A man of the house of Levi went and took a daughter of Levi as his wife.

Und das Weib ward schwanger und gebar einen Sohn. Und da sie sah, daß es ein fein Kind war, verbarg sie ihn drei Monden.

La cual concibió, y parió un hijo: y viéndolo que era hermoso, túvole escondido tres meses.

And the woman conceived, and bare a son: and when she saw him that he was a goodly child, she hid him three months.

Und da sie ihn nicht langer verbergen konnte, machte sie ein Kastlein von Rohr und verklebte es mit Ton und Pech und legte das Kind drein und legte ihn in das Schilf am Ufer des Wassers.

Pero no pudiendo ocultarle más tiempo, tomó una arquilla de juncos, y calafateóla con pez y betún, y colocó en ella al niño, y púsolo en un carrizal á la orilla del río:

And when she could not longer hide him, she took for him an ark of bulrushes, and daubed it with slime and with pitch, and put the child therein; and she laid it in the flags by the river’s brink.

When she could no longer hide him, she took a papyrus basket for him, and coated it with tar and with pitch. She put the child in it, and laid it in the reeds by the river’s bank.

Aber seine Schwester stund von feme, daß sie erfahren wollte, wie es ihm gehen würde.

Und die Tochter Pharaos ging hernieder und wollte baden im Wasser; und ihre Jungfrauen gingen an dem Rande des Wassers. Und da sie das Kastlein im Schilf sah, sandte sie ihre Magd hin und lieft es holen.

Y la hija de Faraón descendió á lavarse al río, y paseándose sus doncellas por la ribera del río, vió ella la arquilla en el carrizal, y envió una criada suya á que la tomase.

And the daughter of Pharaoh came down to wash herself at the river; and her maidens walked along by the river’s side; and when she saw the ark among the flags, she sent her maid to fetch it.

Pharaoh’s daughter came down to bathe at the river. Her maidens walked along by the riverside. She saw the basket among the reeds, and sent her servant to get it.

Und da sie es auftat, sah sie das Kind; und siehe, das Knablein weinete. Da jammerte es sie, und sprach: Es ist der ebraischen Kindlein eins.

Y como la abrió, vió al niño; y he aquí que el niño lloraba. Y teniendo compasión de él, dijo: De los niños de los Hebreos es éste.

And when she had opened it, she saw the child: and, behold, the babe wept. And she had compassion on him, and said, This is one of the Hebrews’ children.

Da sprach seine Schwester zu der Tochter Pharaos: Soil ich hingehen und der ebraischen Weiber eine rufen, die da sauget, daß sie dir das Kindlein sauge?

Entonces su hermana dijo á la hija de Faraón: ¿Iré á llamarte un ama de las Hebreas, para que te críe este niño?

Then said his sister to Pharaoh’s daughter, Shall I go and call to thee a nurse of the Hebrew women, that she may nurse the child for thee?

Then his sister said to Pharaoh’s daughter, “Should I go and call a nurse for you from the Hebrew women, that she may nurse the child for you?”

Die Tochter Pharaos sprach zu ihr: Gehe hin! Die Jungfrau ging hin und rief des Kindes Mutter.

Y la hija de Faraón respondió: Ve. Entonces fué la doncella, y llamó á la madre del niño;

And Pharaoh’s daughter said to her, Go. And the maid went and called the child’s mother.

Da sprach Pharaos Tochter zu ihr: Nimm hin das Kindlein und sauge mir's, ich will dir lohnen. Das Weib nahm das Kind und saugete es.

A la cual dijo la hija de Faraón: Lleva este niño, y críamelo, y yo te lo pagaré. Y la mujer tomó al niño, y criólo.

And Pharaoh’s daughter said unto her, Take this child away, and nurse it for me, and I will give thee thy wages. And the woman took the child, and nursed it.

Und da das Kind graft ward, brachte sie es der Tochter Pharaos, und es ward ihr Sohn; und hieft ihn Mose, denn sie sprach: Ich habe ihn aus dem Wasser gezogen.

Y como creció el niño, ella lo trajo á la hija de Faraón, la cual lo prohijó, y púsole por nombre Moisés, diciendo: Porque de las aguas lo saqué.

And the child grew, and she brought him unto Pharaoh’s daughter, and he became her son. And she called his name Moses: and she said, Because I drew him out of the water.

Zu den Zeiten, da Mose war graft worden, ging er aus zu seinen Brudern und sah ihre Last und ward gewahr, daß ein Agypter schlug seiner Bruder, der ebraischen, einen.

Y en aquellos días acaeció que, crecido ya Moisés, salió á sus hermanos, y vió sus cargas: y observó á un Egipcio que hería á uno de los Hebreos, sus hermanos.

And it came to pass in those days, when Moses was grown, that he went out unto his brethren, and looked on their burdens: and he spied an Egyptian smiting an Hebrew, one of his brethren.

Und erwandte sich hin und her, und da er sah, daß kein Mensch da war, erschlug er den Agypter und verscharrete ihn in den Sand.

Auf einen andern Tag ging erauch aus und sah zween ebraische Manner sich miteinander zanken; und sprach zu dem Ungerechten: Warum schlagest du deinen Nachsten?

Y salió al día siguiente, y viendo á dos Hebreos que reñían, dijo al que hacía la injuria: ¿Por qué hieres á tu prójimo?

And when he went out the second day, behold, two men of the Hebrews strove together: and he said to him that did the wrong, Wherefore smitest thou thy fellow?

He went out the second day, and behold, two men of the Hebrews were fighting with each other. He said to him who did the wrong, “Why do you strike your fellow?”

Er aber sprach: Wer hat dich zum Obersten Oder Richter über uns gesetzt? Willst du mich auch erwürgen, wie du den Agypter erwürget hast? Da furchtete sich Mose und sprach: Wie ist das laut worden?

Y él respondió: ¿Quién te ha puesto á ti por príncipe y juez sobre nosotros? ¿piensas matarme como mataste al Egipcio? Entonces Moisés tuvo miedo, y dijo: Ciertamente esta cosa es descubierta.

And he said, Who made thee a prince and a judge over us? intendest thou to kill me, as thou killedst the Egyptian? And Moses feared, and said, Surely this thing is known.

He said, “Who made you a prince and a judge over us? Do you plan to kill me, as you killed the Egyptian?” Moses was afraid, and said, “Surely this thing is known.”

Und es kam vor Pharao, dertrachtete nach Mose, daß er ihn erwurgete. Aber Mose floh vor Pharao und hielt sich im Lande Midian und wohnete bei einem Brunnen.

Y oyendo Faraón este negocio, procuró matar á Moisés: mas Moisés huyó de delante de Faraón, y habitó en la tierra de Madián; y sentóse junto á un pozo.

Now when Pharaoh heard this thing, he sought to slay Moses. But Moses fled from the face of Pharaoh, and dwelt in the land of Midian: and he sat down by a well.

Der Priester aber in Midian hatte sieben Tochter, die kamen, Wasserzu schopfen, und fulleten die Rinnen, dall sie ihres Vaters Schafe tranketen.

Tenía el sacerdote de Madián siete hijas, las cuales vinieron á sacar agua, para llenar las pilas y dar de beber á las ovejas de su padre.

Da kamen die Hirten und stieüen sie davon. Aber Mose machte sich auf und half ihnen und trankte ihre Schafe.

Sie sprachen: Ein agyptischer Mann errettete uns von den Hirten und schopfte uns und trankte die Schafe.

Y ellas respondieron: Un varón Egipcio nos defendió de mano de los pastores, y también nos sacó el agua, y abrevó las ovejas.

And they said, An Egyptian delivered us out of the hand of the shepherds, and also drew water enough for us, and watered the flock.

Er sprach zu seinen Tochtern: Wo ist er? Warum habt ihr den Mann gelassen, daß ihr ihn nicht ludet, mit uns zu essen?

Y dijo á sus hijas: ¿Y dónde está? ¿por qué habéis dejado ese hombre? llamadle para que coma pan.

And he said unto his daughters, And where is he? why is it that ye have left the man? call him, that he may eat bread.

He said to his daughters, “Where is he? Why is it that you have left the man? Call him, that he may eat bread.”

Und Mose bewilligte, bei dem Manne zu bleiben. Und er gab Mose seine Tochter Zipora.

Y Moisés acordó en morar con aquel varón; y él dió á Moisés á su hija Séphora:

And Moses was content to dwell with the man: and he gave Moses Zipporah his daughter.

La cual le parió un hijo, y él le puso por nombre Gersom: porque dijo: Peregrino soy en tierra ajena.

Lange Zeit aber danach starb der Konig in Agypten. Und die Kinder Israel seufzeten uber ihre Arbeit und schrieen; und ihr Schreien uber ihre Arbeit kam vor Gott.

Y aconteció que después de muchos días murió el rey de Egipto, y los hijos de Israel suspiraron á causa de la servidumbre, y clamaron: y subió á Dios el clamor de ellos con motivo de su servidumbre.

And it came to pass in process of time, that the king of Egypt died: and the children of Israel sighed by reason of the bondage, and they cried, and their cry came up unto God by reason of the bondage.

Und Gott erhorete ihr Wehklagen und gedachte an seinen Bund mit Abraham, Isaak und Jakob.
