1Wenn jemand einen Ochsen stiehlt oder ein Schaf und schlachtet oder verkauft das Tier, so soll er fünf Ochsen für einen erstatten und vier Schafe für eins.
2Wird ein Dieb beim Einbruch ertappt und geschlagen, daß er stirbt, so ist man des Blutes nicht schuldig;
3wäre aber die Sonne über ihm aufgegangen, so würde man des Blutes schuldig sein. Der Dieb soll Ersatz leisten; hat er aber nichts, so verkaufe man ihn um den Wert des Gestohlenen.
4Wird das Gestohlene noch lebend bei ihm vorgefunden, es sei ein Ochs, ein Esel oder ein Schaf, so soll er es doppelt wiedererstatten.
5Wenn jemand das Feld oder den Weinberg abweiden läßt, und er läßt dem Vieh freien Lauf, daß es auch das Feld eines andern abweidet, so soll er das Beste seines eigenen Feldes und das Beste seines Weinbergs dafür geben.
6Bricht Feuer aus und ergreift eine Dornhecke und frißt einen Garbenhaufen oder das stehende Gewächs oder das ganze Feld, so soll der, welcher den Brand verursacht hat, den Schaden vergüten.
7Gibt einer seinem Nächsten Geld oder Hausrat zu verwahren, und es wird aus dem Hause des Betreffenden gestohlen, so soll der Dieb, wenn er erwischt wird, es doppelt ersetzen.
8Ist aber der Dieb nicht zu finden, so soll man den Hausherrn vor Gott bringen und ihn darüber verhören, ob er sich nicht vergriffen habe an seines Nächsten Gut.
9Wird irgend etwas gestohlen, sei es ein Ochs, ein Esel, ein Schaf, ein Kleid, oder was sonst abhanden gekommen sein mag, wovon einer behauptet: Der hat's! So soll beider Aussage vor Gott gelangen; wen Gott schuldig spricht, der soll es seinem Nächsten doppelt ersetzen.
10Wenn jemand seinem Nächsten einen Esel oder einen Ochsen oder ein Schaf oder irgend ein Vieh zu hüten gibt, und es kommt um oder nimmt Schaden oder wird geraubt, ohne daß es jemand sieht,
11so soll ein Eid bei dem HERRN zwischen beiden entscheiden, daß jener sich nicht vergriffen habe an seines Nächsten Gut; und der Eigentümer soll ihn annehmen und keine Entschädigung erhalten.
12Ist es ihm aber gestohlen worden, so soll er es dem Eigentümer ersetzen;
13wenn es aber von einem wilden Tier zerrissen worden ist, so soll er das Zerrissene zum Beweis beibringen; bezahlen muß er es nicht.
14Entlehnt jemand etwas von seinem Nächsten, und es wird beschädigt oder kommt um, ohne daß der Eigentümer dabei ist,
15so muß er es ersetzen; ist der Eigentümer dabei, so braucht jener es nicht zu ersetzen; ist er ein Tagelöhner, so ist es inbegriffen in seinem Lohn.
16Wenn ein Mann eine Jungfrau überredet, die noch unverlobt ist, und bei ihr liegt, so soll er sie sich durch Bezahlung des Kaufpreises zum Eheweib nehmen.
17Will aber ihr Vater sie ihm durchaus nicht geben, so soll er ihm soviel bezahlen, als der Kaufpreis für eine Jungfrau beträgt.
18Eine Zauberin sollst du nicht leben lassen!
19Wer bei einem Vieh liegt, soll des Todes sterben.
20Wer den Göttern opfert und nicht dem Herrn allein, der soll in den Bann getan werden.
21Den Fremdling sollst du nicht bedrängen noch bedrücken; denn ihr seid auch Fremdlinge gewesen in Ägyptenland.
22Ihr sollt keine Witwen noch Waisen bedrücken.
23Wirst du sie dennoch bedrücken und sie schreien zu mir, so werde ich ihr Schreien gewiß erhören,
24und es wird alsdann mein Zorn ergrimmen, daß ich euch mit dem Schwert umbringe, damit eure Weiber zu Witwen und eure Kinder zu Waisen werden!
25Wenn du meinem Volk Geld leihst, einem Armen, der bei dir wohnt, so sollst du ihn nicht wie ein Wucherer behandeln, du sollst ihm keinen Zins auferlegen.
26Wenn du von deinem Nächsten das Kleid als Pfand nimmst, so sollst du es ihm bis zum Sonnenuntergang wiedergeben;
27denn es ist seine einzige Decke, das Kleid, das er auf der bloßen Haut trägt! Worin soll er schlafen? Schreit er aber zu mir, so erhöre ich ihn; denn ich bin gnädig.
28Gott sollst du nicht lästern, und dem Obersten deines Volkes sollst du nicht fluchen!
29Deinen Überfluß und dein Bestes sollst du nicht zurückbehalten; deinen erstgeborenen Sohn sollst du mir geben!
30Desgleichen sollst du tun mit deinem Ochsen und deinem Schaf; sieben Tage mag es bei seiner Mutter bleiben, am achten Tag sollst du es mir geben!
31Und ihr sollt mir heilige Leute sein; darum sollt ihr kein Fleisch essen, das auf dem Feld von wilden Tieren zerrissen worden ist, sondern sollt es den Hunden vorwerfen.

1CUANDO alguno hurtare buey ú oveja, y le degollare ó vendiere, por aquel buey pagará cinco bueyes, y por aquella oveja cuatro ovejas.
2Si el ladrón fuere hallado forzando una casa, y fuere herido y muriere, el que le hirió no será culpado de su muerte.
3Si el sol hubiere sobre él salido, el matador será reo de homicidio: el ladrón habrá de restituir cumplidamente; si no tuviere, será vendido por su hurto.
4Si fuere hallado con el hurto en la mano, sea buey ó asno ú oveja vivos, pagará el duplo.
5Si alguno hiciere pacer campo ó viña, y metiere su bestia, y comiere la tierra de otro, de lo mejor de su tierra y de lo mejor de su viña pagará.
6Cuando rompiere un fuego, y hallare espinas, y fuere quemado montón, ó haza, ó campo, el que encendió el fuego pagará lo quemado.
7Cuando alguno diere á su prójimo plata ó alhajas á guardar, y fuere hurtado de la casa de aquel hombre, si el ladrón se hallare, pagará el doble.
8Si el ladrón no se hallare, entonces el dueño de la casa será presentado á los jueces, para ver si ha metido su mano en la hacienda de su prójimo.
9Sobre todo negocio de fraude, sobre buey, sobre asno, sobre oveja, sobre vestido, sobre toda cosa perdida, cuando uno dijere: Esto es mío, la causa de ambos vendrá delante de los jueces; y el que los jueces condenaren, pagará el doble á su prójimo.
10Si alguno hubiere dado á su prójimo asno, ó buey, ú oveja, ó cualquier otro animal á guardar, y se muriere, ó se perniquebrare, ó fuere llevado sin verlo nadie;
11Juramento de Jehová tendrá lugar entre ambos de que no echó su mano á la hacienda de su prójimo: y su dueño lo aceptará, y el otro no pagará.
12Mas si le hubiere sido hurtado, resarcirá á su dueño.
13Y si le hubiere sido arrebatado por fiera, traerle ha testimonio, y no pagará lo arrebatado.
14Pero si alguno hubiere tomado prestada bestia de su prójimo, y fuere estropeada ó muerta, ausente su dueño, deberá pagarla.
15Si el dueño estaba presente, no la pagará. Si era alquilada, él vendrá por su alquiler.
16Y si alguno engañare á alguna doncella que no fuere desposada, y durmiere con ella, deberá dotarla y tomarla por mujer.
17Si su padre no quisiere dársela, él le pesará plata conforme al dote de las vírgenes.
18A la hechicera no dejarás que viva.
19Cualquiera que tuviere ayuntamiento con bestia, morirá.
20El que sacrificare á dioses, excepto á sólo Jehová, será muerto.
21Y al extranjero no engañarás, ni angustiarás, porque extranjeros fuisteis vosotros en la tierra de Egipto.
22A ninguna viuda ni huérfano afligiréis.
23Que si tú llegas á afligirle, y él á mí clamare, ciertamente oiré yo su clamor;
24Y mi furor se encenderá, y os mataré á cuchillo, y vuestras mujeres serán viudas, y huérfanos vuestros hijos.
25Si dieres á mi pueblo dinero emprestado, al pobre que está contigo, no te portarás con él como logrero, ni le impondrás usura.
26Si tomares en prenda el vestido de tu prójimo, á puestas del sol se lo volverás:
27Porque sólo aquello es su cubierta, es aquél el vestido para cubrir sus carnes, en el que ha de dormir: y será que cuando él á mí clamare, yo entonces le oiré, porque soy misericordioso.
28No denostarás á los jueces, ni maldecirás al príncipe de tu pueblo.
29No dilatarás la primicia de tu cosecha, ni de tu licor: me darás el primogénito de tus hijos.
30Así harás con el de tu buey y de tu oveja: siete días estará con su madre, y al octavo día me lo darás.
31Y habéis de serme varones santos: y no comeréis carne arrebatada de las fieras en el campo; á los perros la echaréis.

1If a man shall steal an ox, or a sheep, and kill it, or sell it; he shall restore five oxen for an ox, and four sheep for a sheep.
2If a thief be found breaking up, and be smitten that he die, there shall no blood be shed for him.
3If the sun be risen upon him, there shall be blood shed for him; for he should make full restitution; if he have nothing, then he shall be sold for his theft.
4If the theft be certainly found in his hand alive, whether it be ox, or ass, or sheep; he shall restore double.
5If a man shall cause a field or vineyard to be eaten, and shall put in his beast, and shall feed in another man’s field; of the best of his own field, and of the best of his own vineyard, shall he make restitution.
6If fire break out, and catch in thorns, so that the stacks of corn, or the standing corn, or the field, be consumed therewith; he that kindled the fire shall surely make restitution.
7If a man shall deliver unto his neighbour money or stuff to keep, and it be stolen out of the man’s house; if the thief be found, let him pay double.
8If the thief be not found, then the master of the house shall be brought unto the judges, to see whether he have put his hand unto his neighbour’s goods.
9For all manner of trespass, whether it be for ox, for ass, for sheep, for raiment, or for any manner of lost thing, which another challengeth to be his, the cause of both parties shall come before the judges; and whom the judges shall condemn, he shall pay double unto his neighbour.
10If a man deliver unto his neighbour an ass, or an ox, or a sheep, or any beast, to keep; and it die, or be hurt, or driven away, no man seeing it:
11Then shall an oath of the LORD be between them both, that he hath not put his hand unto his neighbour’s goods; and the owner of it shall accept thereof, and he shall not make it good.
12And if it be stolen from him, he shall make restitution unto the owner thereof.
13If it be torn in pieces, then let him bring it for witness, and he shall not make good that which was torn.
14And if a man borrow ought of his neighbour, and it be hurt, or die, the owner thereof being not with it, he shall surely make it good.
15But if the owner thereof be with it, he shall not make it good: if it be an hired thing, it came for his hire.
16And if a man entice a maid that is not betrothed, and lie with her, he shall surely endow her to be his wife.
17If her father utterly refuse to give her unto him, he shall pay money according to the dowry of virgins.
18Thou shalt not suffer a witch to live.
19Whosoever lieth with a beast shall surely be put to death.
20He that sacrificeth unto any god, save unto the LORD only, he shall be utterly destroyed.
21Thou shalt neither vex a stranger, nor oppress him: for ye were strangers in the land of Egypt.
22Ye shall not afflict any widow, or fatherless child.
23If thou afflict them in any wise, and they cry at all unto me, I will surely hear their cry;
24And my wrath shall wax hot, and I will kill you with the sword; and your wives shall be widows, and your children fatherless.
25If thou lend money to any of my people that is poor by thee, thou shalt not be to him as an usurer, neither shalt thou lay upon him usury.
26If thou at all take thy neighbour’s raiment to pledge, thou shalt deliver it unto him by that the sun goeth down:
27For that is his covering only, it is his raiment for his skin: wherein shall he sleep? and it shall come to pass, when he crieth unto me, that I will hear; for I am gracious.
28Thou shalt not revile the gods, nor curse the ruler of thy people.
29Thou shalt not delay to offer the first of thy ripe fruits, and of thy liquors: the firstborn of thy sons shalt thou give unto me.
30Likewise shalt thou do with thine oxen, and with thy sheep: seven days it shall be with his dam; on the eighth day thou shalt give it me.
31And ye shall be holy men unto me: neither shall ye eat any flesh that is torn of beasts in the field; ye shall cast it to the dogs.

1“If a man steals an ox or a sheep, and kills it or sells it, he shall pay five oxen for an ox, and four sheep for a sheep.
2If the thief is found breaking in, and is struck so that he dies, there shall be no guilt of bloodshed for him.
3If the sun has risen on him, he is guilty of bloodshed. He shall make restitution. If he has nothing, then he shall be sold for his theft.
4If the stolen property is found in his hand alive, whether it is ox, donkey, or sheep, he shall pay double.
5“If a man causes a field or vineyard to be eaten by letting his animal loose, and it grazes in another man’s field, he shall make restitution from the best of his own field, and from the best of his own vineyard.
6“If fire breaks out, and catches in thorns so that the shocks of grain, or the standing grain, or the field are consumed; he who kindled the fire shall surely make restitution.
7“If a man delivers to his neighbor money or stuff to keep, and it is stolen out of the man’s house, if the thief is found, he shall pay double.
8If the thief isn’t found, then the master of the house shall come near to God, to find out whether or not he has put his hand on his neighbor’s goods.

18“You shall not allow a sorceress to live.
19“Whoever has sex with an animal shall surely be put to death.
20“He who sacrifices to any god, except to the LORD only, shall be utterly destroyed.
21“You shall not wrong an alien or oppress him, for you were aliens in the land of Egypt.
22“You shall not take advantage of any widow or fatherless child.
23If you take advantage of them at all, and they cry at all to me, I will surely hear their cry;
24and my wrath will grow hot, and I will kill you with the sword; and your wives shall be widows, and your children fatherless.
25“If you lend money to any of my people with you who is poor, you shall not be to him as a creditor. You shall not charge him interest.
26If you take your neighbor’s garment as collateral, you shall restore it to him before the sun goes down,
27for that is his only covering, it is his garment for his skin. What would he sleep in? It will happen, when he cries to me, that I will hear, for I am gracious.
28“You shall not blaspheme God, nor curse a ruler of your people.
29“You shall not delay to offer from your harvest and from the outflow of your presses. “You shall give the firstborn of your sons to me.
30You shall do likewise with your cattle and with your sheep. It shall be with its mother seven days, then on the eighth day you shall give it to me.
31“You shall be holy men to me, therefore you shall not eat any meat that is torn by animals in the field. You shall cast it to the dogs.
