»Si alguien roba un buey y lo mata o lo vende, pagará cinco por uno: cinco bueyes serán devueltos por un buey robado. Si se trata de una oveja, serán cuatro por una: cuatro ovejas serán devueltas por una robada.
CUANDO alguno hurtare buey ú oveja, y le degollare ó vendiere, por aquel buey pagará cinco bueyes, y por aquella oveja cuatro ovejas.
If a man shall steal an ox, or a sheep, and kill it, or sell it; he shall restore five oxen for an ox, and four sheep for a sheep.

»Si el ladrón es sorprendido en el acto de entrar en una casa y lo matan, el que lo mató no es culpable.
Si el ladrón fuere hallado forzando una casa, y fuere herido y muriere, el que le hirió no será culpado de su muerte.
If a thief be found breaking up, and be smitten that he die, there shall no blood be shed for him.
If the thief is found breaking in, and is struck so that he dies, there shall be no guilt of bloodshed for him.
Pero si ocurre a la luz del día, se presume que es homicidio, y el que lo mató es culpable. Si se captura a un ladrón, debe hacer completa restitución de lo robado. Si no puede, debe ser vendido como esclavo para cancelar su deuda.
Si el sol hubiere sobre él salido, el matador será reo de homicidio: el ladrón habrá de restituir cumplidamente; si no tuviere, será vendido por su hurto.
If the sun be risen upon him, there shall be blood shed for him; for he should make full restitution; if he have nothing, then he shall be sold for his theft.
If the sun has risen on him, he is guilty of bloodshed. He shall make restitution. If he has nothing, then he shall be sold for his theft.
Si es sorprendido robando un buey, un burro, una oveja o cualquier otra cosa, pagará el doble de su valor como multa.
Si fuere hallado con el hurto en la mano, sea buey ó asno ú oveja vivos, pagará el duplo.
If the theft be certainly found in his hand alive, whether it be ox, or ass, or sheep; he shall restore double.
If the stolen property is found in his hand alive, whether it is ox, donkey, or sheep, he shall pay double.
»Si alguien deliberadamente deja suelto un animal, y este se introduce en la viña de un vecino o entra a pastar en su campo, con lo mejor de su propia cosecha esa persona deberá pagar todos los daños.
Si alguno hiciere pacer campo ó viña, y metiere su bestia, y comiere la tierra de otro, de lo mejor de su tierra y de lo mejor de su viña pagará.
If a man shall cause a field or vineyard to be eaten, and shall put in his beast, and shall feed in another man’s field; of the best of his own field, and of the best of his own vineyard, shall he make restitution.
“If a man causes a field or vineyard to be eaten by letting his animal loose, and it grazes in another man’s field, he shall make restitution from the best of his own field, and from the best of his own vineyard.
»Si se prende fuego para quemar la maleza, y el fuego pasa a la propiedad de un vecino y destruye su cosecha, sea que esté amontonada o que aún no haya sido cortada, el autor del fuego deberá pagar todos los daños.
Cuando rompiere un fuego, y hallare espinas, y fuere quemado montón, ó haza, ó campo, el que encendió el fuego pagará lo quemado.
If fire break out, and catch in thorns, so that the stacks of corn, or the standing corn, or the field, be consumed therewith; he that kindled the fire shall surely make restitution.

»Si alguien entrega dinero o cosas de valor a otra persona para que se las guarde, y estos le son robados, el ladrón pagará el doble, en caso de que lo atrapen.
Cuando alguno diere á su prójimo plata ó alhajas á guardar, y fuere hurtado de la casa de aquel hombre, si el ladrón se hallare, pagará el doble.
If a man shall deliver unto his neighbour money or stuff to keep, and it be stolen out of the man’s house; if the thief be found, let him pay double.
“If a man delivers to his neighbor money or stuff to keep, and it is stolen out of the man’s house, if the thief is found, he shall pay double.
Pero si no se descubre al ladrón, entonces el hombre que recibió las cosas en depósito será llevado a los jueces, para que determinen si dispuso de los bienes o si participó en el robo.
Si el ladrón no se hallare, entonces el dueño de la casa será presentado á los jueces, para ver si ha metido su mano en la hacienda de su prójimo.
If the thief be not found, then the master of the house shall be brought unto the judges, to see whether he have put his hand unto his neighbour’s goods.
If the thief isn’t found, then the master of the house shall come near to God, to find out whether or not he has put his hand on his neighbor’s goods.
»En todo caso en que un buey, un burro, una oveja, ropa o cualquier otra cosa se haya perdido, y el propietario piense que lo ha encontrado en poder de otro que lo niega, los dos se presentarán ante los jueces; y el que sea declarado culpable pagará el doble al otro.
Sobre todo negocio de fraude, sobre buey, sobre asno, sobre oveja, sobre vestido, sobre toda cosa perdida, cuando uno dijere: Esto es mío, la causa de ambos vendrá delante de los jueces; y el que los jueces condenaren, pagará el doble á su prójimo.

Si fue atacado por algún animal salvaje, traerá los despojos para confirmar el hecho, y no tendrá que hacer restitución.

If it be torn in pieces, then let him bring it for witness, and he shall not make good that which was torn.

»Si un hombre pide prestado un animal o cualquier otra cosa a un vecino, y lo prestado sufre daño o muere cuando el propietario no se encontraba presente, el hombre que lo tomó prestado deberá pagarlo.
Pero si alguno hubiere tomado prestada bestia de su prójimo, y fuere estropeada ó muerta, ausente su dueño, deberá pagarla.
And if a man borrow ought of his neighbour, and it be hurt, or die, the owner thereof being not with it, he shall surely make it good.
“If a man borrows anything of his neighbor’s, and it is injured, or dies, its owner not being with it, he shall surely make restitution.
Pero si el propietario estaba presente, no necesita pagar, y si era alquilado, solo tendrá que pagar el alquiler.
Si el dueño estaba presente, no la pagará. Si era alquilada, él vendrá por su alquiler.
But if the owner thereof be with it, he shall not make it good: if it be an hired thing, it came for his hire.

»Si un hombre seduce a una mujer que aún no está comprometida, deberá pagar la dote usual y aceptarla por esposa.
Y si alguno engañare á alguna doncella que no fuere desposada, y durmiere con ella, deberá dotarla y tomarla por mujer.
And if a man entice a maid that is not betrothed, and lie with her, he shall surely endow her to be his wife.
“If a man entices a virgin who isn’t pledged to be married, and lies with her, he shall surely pay a dowry for her to be his wife.
Pero si el padre se niega a que se case con ella, pagará de todos modos la dote.
Si su padre no quisiere dársela, él le pesará plata conforme al dote de las vírgenes.
If her father utterly refuse to give her unto him, he shall pay money according to the dowry of virgins.

»Cualquiera que tenga relaciones sexuales con animales deberá ser condenado a muerte.
Cualquiera que tuviere ayuntamiento con bestia, morirá.
Whosoever lieth with a beast shall surely be put to death.
“Whoever has sex with an animal shall surely be put to death.
»Cualquiera que ofrezca sacrificios a otros dioses, en vez de ofrecérselos sólo al Señor, será condenado a muerte.
El que sacrificare á dioses, excepto á sólo Jehová, será muerto.
He that sacrificeth unto any god, save unto the LORD only, he shall be utterly destroyed.
“He who sacrifices to any god, except to the LORD only, shall be utterly destroyed.
»No maltraten ni opriman al extranjero. Recuerden que ustedes fueron extranjeros en Egipto.
Y al extranjero no engañarás, ni angustiarás, porque extranjeros fuisteis vosotros en la tierra de Egipto.
Thou shalt neither vex a stranger, nor oppress him: for ye were strangers in the land of Egypt.
“You shall not wrong an alien or oppress him, for you were aliens in the land of Egypt.
»No hagan daño alguno a la viuda o al huérfano.
A ninguna viuda ni huérfano afligiréis.
Ye shall not afflict any widow, or fatherless child.
“You shall not take advantage of any widow or fatherless child.
Si lo hacen, y ellos claman a mí pidiendo ayuda, ciertamente los ayudaré.
Que si tú llegas á afligirle, y él á mí clamare, ciertamente oiré yo su clamor;
If thou afflict them in any wise, and they cry at all unto me, I will surely hear their cry;
If you take advantage of them at all, and they cry at all to me, I will surely hear their cry;
Entonces desataré mi ira contra ustedes y haré que mueran a filo de espada. ¡De este modo las que se quedarán viudas serán sus esposas, y los que se quedarán huérfanos serán sus hijos!
Y mi furor se encenderá, y os mataré á cuchillo, y vuestras mujeres serán viudas, y huérfanos vuestros hijos.
And my wrath shall wax hot, and I will kill you with the sword; and your wives shall be widows, and your children fatherless.

»Si prestan dinero a un israelita necesitado, no le cobrarán interés en la forma acostumbrada.
Si dieres á mi pueblo dinero emprestado, al pobre que está contigo, no te portarás con él como logrero, ni le impondrás usura.
If thou lend money to any of my people that is poor by thee, thou shalt not be to him as an usurer, neither shalt thou lay upon him usury.
“If you lend money to any of my people with you who is poor, you shall not be to him as a creditor. You shall not charge him interest.
Si toman su túnica como prenda, deberán devolvérsela en la noche.
Si tomares en prenda el vestido de tu prójimo, á puestas del sol se lo volverás:
If thou at all take thy neighbour’s raiment to pledge, thou shalt deliver it unto him by that the sun goeth down:
If you take your neighbor’s garment as collateral, you shall restore it to him before the sun goes down,
Es probable que sea su único abrigo, de modo que no tendrá con qué cobijarse en la noche. Si no le devuelven su túnica, y él clama a mí, entonces yo lo atenderé, porque soy muy compasivo.
Porque sólo aquello es su cubierta, es aquél el vestido para cubrir sus carnes, en el que ha de dormir: y será que cuando él á mí clamare, yo entonces le oiré, porque soy misericordioso.
For that is his covering only, it is his raiment for his skin: wherein shall he sleep? and it shall come to pass, when he crieth unto me, that I will hear; for I am gracious.
for that is his only covering, it is his garment for his skin. What would he sleep in? It will happen, when he cries to me, that I will hear, for I am gracious.
»No ofenderán ni maldecirán a las autoridades, ni a los jueces ni a los gobernantes.
No denostarás á los jueces, ni maldecirás al príncipe de tu pueblo.
Thou shalt not revile the gods, nor curse the ruler of thy people.
“You shall not blaspheme God, nor curse a ruler of your people.
»Deberán dar el diezmo de sus cosechas y de sus vinos, y el pago de rescate de sus hijos primogénitos.
No dilatarás la primicia de tu cosecha, ni de tu licor: me darás el primogénito de tus hijos.
Thou shalt not delay to offer the first of thy ripe fruits, and of thy liquors: the firstborn of thy sons shalt thou give unto me.
“You shall not delay to offer from your harvest and from the outflow of your presses. “You shall give the firstborn of your sons to me.
»En cuanto al primero de sus ganados y de sus rebaños, deberán entregármelos en el octavo día, después de dejarlo estar con su madre siete días.
Así harás con el de tu buey y de tu oveja: siete días estará con su madre, y al octavo día me lo darás.
Likewise shalt thou do with thine oxen, and with thy sheep: seven days it shall be with his dam; on the eighth day thou shalt give it me.

»Y por cuanto ustedes son mi pueblo especial, no comerán la carne de ningún animal que haya sido atacado y muerto por una bestia salvaje. Esa carne se la echarán a los perros.
Y habéis de serme varones santos: y no comeréis carne arrebatada de las fieras en el campo; á los perros la echaréis.
And ye shall be holy men unto me: neither shall ye eat any flesh that is torn of beasts in the field; ye shall cast it to the dogs.
“You shall be holy men to me, therefore you shall not eat any meat that is torn by animals in the field. You shall cast it to the dogs.
