1Si un hombre toma sin derecho el buey de otro hombre o sus ovejas, y lo mata o lo vende, él dará cinco bueyes por un buey, o cuatro ovejas por oveja.
2Si un ladrón es tomado en el acto de ingresar a una casa, y su muerte es causada por un golpe, el dueño de la casa no es responsable de su sangre.
3Pero si es después del amanecer, él será el responsable. Él que robó tendrá que restituir lo que se robó, y si no tiene con qué pagar; él mismo será vendido para pagar lo robado.
4Si todavía tiene lo que había tomado, sea lo que sea, buey o asno u oveja, debe dar el doble de su valor.
5Si un hombre permite que sus animales pasten en un campo o en un huerto de vid, y sus animales dañan el campo de otro hombre, debe dar lo mejor de su campo o su huerta para compensarlo.
6Si hay un fuego y las llamas llegan a las espinas en el borde del campo, causando la destrucción del grano cortado o del grano vivo, o del campo, el que hizo el fuego tendrá que compensar el daño.
7Si un hombre pone dinero o bienes al cuidado de su prójimo para que los guarde, y se los roban de la casa del hombre, si atrapan al ladrón, tendrá que pagar el doble del valor.
8Si no atraparon al ladrón, el dueño de la casa vendrá ante los jueces y prestará juramento de que no ha puesto la mano sobre los bienes de su prójimo.
9En cualquier pregunta acerca de un buey o un asno o una oveja o ropa, o acerca de la pérdida de cualquier propiedad que cualquiera diga que es suya, permitan que las dos partes pongan su causa delante de los jueces; y el que resulte culpable ese hace el pago a su vecino del doble del valor.
10Si un hombre pone un asno, un buey, una oveja o una bestia en custodia de su prójimo, y llega a la muerte o es dañado o se lo llevan, sin que nadie lo vea:
11Si hace su juramento delante del Señor, que no ha puesto su mano en los bienes de su prójimo, el dueño debe cumplir su palabra y no tendrá que pagar por ello.
12Pero si se lo quita un ladrón, debe compensar la pérdida de él con su dueño.
13Pero si ha sido dañado por una bestia, y él puede aclarar esto, no tendrá que pagar por lo que fue dañado.
14Si un hombre obtiene de su vecino el uso de una de sus bestias, y se daña o muere cuando el propietario no está con ella, sin duda tendrá que pagar por la pérdida.
15Si el propietario estaba presente, no tendrá que hacer el pago: si dio dinero por el uso de la misma, la pérdida está cubierta por el pago.
16Si un hombre toma una virgen, que no le ha dado su palabra a otro hombre, y tiene relaciones con ella, él tendrá que dar un precio de la novia para que ella sea su esposa.
17Si su padre no se la entrega a él como esposa, tendrá que dar el pago regular para las vírgenes.
18Cualquier mujer hechicera será ejecutada.
19Todo hombre que tenga relaciones sexuales con una bestia será condenado a muerte.
20La destrucción total vendrá sobre cualquier hombre que haga ofrendas a cualquier otro dios que no sea el Señor.
21No hagas mal a un hombre de un país extraño, y no seas duro con él; porque ustedes mismos estaban viviendo en un país extraño, en la tierra de Egipto.
22No le hagas mal a una viuda, ni a un niño huérfano.
23Si eres cruel con ellos de alguna manera, y su clamor viene a mí, ciertamente voy a prestar oído;
24En el calor de mi ira te mataré a espada, y tus esposas serán viudas y tus hijos huérfanos.
25Si permites que cualquiera de los pobres entre mi gente use tu dinero, no seas un acreedor duro para él y no le impondrás intereses.
26Si esa persona te da su ropa como garantía, se la devolverás antes de que se ponga el sol:
27Porque es lo único que tiene para cubrir su piel; ¿en qué se va a dormir? y cuando su clamor llegue a mí, lo escucharé, porque mi misericordia es grande.
28No puedes decir mal de los jueces, ni maldecir al gobernante de tu pueblo.
29No tardes de traer tus ofrendas de la riqueza de tu grano y tus viñedos. El primero de tus hijos debes darme.
30De la misma manera con tus bueyes y tus ovejas: durante siete días estará con su madre; en el octavo día dámelo.
31Serán para mí hombres santos; la carne de ningún animal, cuya muerte haya sido causada por las bestias del campo, se puede usar para su alimento; es para ser dado a los perros.

1CUANDO alguno hurtare buey ú oveja, y le degollare ó vendiere, por aquel buey pagará cinco bueyes, y por aquella oveja cuatro ovejas.
2Si el ladrón fuere hallado forzando una casa, y fuere herido y muriere, el que le hirió no será culpado de su muerte.
3Si el sol hubiere sobre él salido, el matador será reo de homicidio: el ladrón habrá de restituir cumplidamente; si no tuviere, será vendido por su hurto.
4Si fuere hallado con el hurto en la mano, sea buey ó asno ú oveja vivos, pagará el duplo.
5Si alguno hiciere pacer campo ó viña, y metiere su bestia, y comiere la tierra de otro, de lo mejor de su tierra y de lo mejor de su viña pagará.
6Cuando rompiere un fuego, y hallare espinas, y fuere quemado montón, ó haza, ó campo, el que encendió el fuego pagará lo quemado.
7Cuando alguno diere á su prójimo plata ó alhajas á guardar, y fuere hurtado de la casa de aquel hombre, si el ladrón se hallare, pagará el doble.
8Si el ladrón no se hallare, entonces el dueño de la casa será presentado á los jueces, para ver si ha metido su mano en la hacienda de su prójimo.
9Sobre todo negocio de fraude, sobre buey, sobre asno, sobre oveja, sobre vestido, sobre toda cosa perdida, cuando uno dijere: Esto es mío, la causa de ambos vendrá delante de los jueces; y el que los jueces condenaren, pagará el doble á su prójimo.
10Si alguno hubiere dado á su prójimo asno, ó buey, ú oveja, ó cualquier otro animal á guardar, y se muriere, ó se perniquebrare, ó fuere llevado sin verlo nadie;
11Juramento de Jehová tendrá lugar entre ambos de que no echó su mano á la hacienda de su prójimo: y su dueño lo aceptará, y el otro no pagará.
12Mas si le hubiere sido hurtado, resarcirá á su dueño.
13Y si le hubiere sido arrebatado por fiera, traerle ha testimonio, y no pagará lo arrebatado.
14Pero si alguno hubiere tomado prestada bestia de su prójimo, y fuere estropeada ó muerta, ausente su dueño, deberá pagarla.
15Si el dueño estaba presente, no la pagará. Si era alquilada, él vendrá por su alquiler.
16Y si alguno engañare á alguna doncella que no fuere desposada, y durmiere con ella, deberá dotarla y tomarla por mujer.
17Si su padre no quisiere dársela, él le pesará plata conforme al dote de las vírgenes.
18A la hechicera no dejarás que viva.
19Cualquiera que tuviere ayuntamiento con bestia, morirá.
20El que sacrificare á dioses, excepto á sólo Jehová, será muerto.
21Y al extranjero no engañarás, ni angustiarás, porque extranjeros fuisteis vosotros en la tierra de Egipto.
22A ninguna viuda ni huérfano afligiréis.
23Que si tú llegas á afligirle, y él á mí clamare, ciertamente oiré yo su clamor;
24Y mi furor se encenderá, y os mataré á cuchillo, y vuestras mujeres serán viudas, y huérfanos vuestros hijos.
25Si dieres á mi pueblo dinero emprestado, al pobre que está contigo, no te portarás con él como logrero, ni le impondrás usura.
26Si tomares en prenda el vestido de tu prójimo, á puestas del sol se lo volverás:
27Porque sólo aquello es su cubierta, es aquél el vestido para cubrir sus carnes, en el que ha de dormir: y será que cuando él á mí clamare, yo entonces le oiré, porque soy misericordioso.
28No denostarás á los jueces, ni maldecirás al príncipe de tu pueblo.
29No dilatarás la primicia de tu cosecha, ni de tu licor: me darás el primogénito de tus hijos.
30Así harás con el de tu buey y de tu oveja: siete días estará con su madre, y al octavo día me lo darás.
31Y habéis de serme varones santos: y no comeréis carne arrebatada de las fieras en el campo; á los perros la echaréis.

1If a man shall steal an ox, or a sheep, and kill it, or sell it; he shall restore five oxen for an ox, and four sheep for a sheep.
2If a thief be found breaking up, and be smitten that he die, there shall no blood be shed for him.
3If the sun be risen upon him, there shall be blood shed for him; for he should make full restitution; if he have nothing, then he shall be sold for his theft.
4If the theft be certainly found in his hand alive, whether it be ox, or ass, or sheep; he shall restore double.
5If a man shall cause a field or vineyard to be eaten, and shall put in his beast, and shall feed in another man’s field; of the best of his own field, and of the best of his own vineyard, shall he make restitution.
6If fire break out, and catch in thorns, so that the stacks of corn, or the standing corn, or the field, be consumed therewith; he that kindled the fire shall surely make restitution.
7If a man shall deliver unto his neighbour money or stuff to keep, and it be stolen out of the man’s house; if the thief be found, let him pay double.
8If the thief be not found, then the master of the house shall be brought unto the judges, to see whether he have put his hand unto his neighbour’s goods.
9For all manner of trespass, whether it be for ox, for ass, for sheep, for raiment, or for any manner of lost thing, which another challengeth to be his, the cause of both parties shall come before the judges; and whom the judges shall condemn, he shall pay double unto his neighbour.
10If a man deliver unto his neighbour an ass, or an ox, or a sheep, or any beast, to keep; and it die, or be hurt, or driven away, no man seeing it:
11Then shall an oath of the LORD be between them both, that he hath not put his hand unto his neighbour’s goods; and the owner of it shall accept thereof, and he shall not make it good.
12And if it be stolen from him, he shall make restitution unto the owner thereof.
13If it be torn in pieces, then let him bring it for witness, and he shall not make good that which was torn.
14And if a man borrow ought of his neighbour, and it be hurt, or die, the owner thereof being not with it, he shall surely make it good.
15But if the owner thereof be with it, he shall not make it good: if it be an hired thing, it came for his hire.
16And if a man entice a maid that is not betrothed, and lie with her, he shall surely endow her to be his wife.
17If her father utterly refuse to give her unto him, he shall pay money according to the dowry of virgins.
18Thou shalt not suffer a witch to live.
19Whosoever lieth with a beast shall surely be put to death.
20He that sacrificeth unto any god, save unto the LORD only, he shall be utterly destroyed.
21Thou shalt neither vex a stranger, nor oppress him: for ye were strangers in the land of Egypt.
22Ye shall not afflict any widow, or fatherless child.
23If thou afflict them in any wise, and they cry at all unto me, I will surely hear their cry;
24And my wrath shall wax hot, and I will kill you with the sword; and your wives shall be widows, and your children fatherless.
25If thou lend money to any of my people that is poor by thee, thou shalt not be to him as an usurer, neither shalt thou lay upon him usury.
26If thou at all take thy neighbour’s raiment to pledge, thou shalt deliver it unto him by that the sun goeth down:
27For that is his covering only, it is his raiment for his skin: wherein shall he sleep? and it shall come to pass, when he crieth unto me, that I will hear; for I am gracious.
28Thou shalt not revile the gods, nor curse the ruler of thy people.
29Thou shalt not delay to offer the first of thy ripe fruits, and of thy liquors: the firstborn of thy sons shalt thou give unto me.
30Likewise shalt thou do with thine oxen, and with thy sheep: seven days it shall be with his dam; on the eighth day thou shalt give it me.
31And ye shall be holy men unto me: neither shall ye eat any flesh that is torn of beasts in the field; ye shall cast it to the dogs.
World English Bible
1“If a man steals an ox or a sheep, and kills it or sells it, he shall pay five oxen for an ox, and four sheep for a sheep.
2If the thief is found breaking in, and is struck so that he dies, there shall be no guilt of bloodshed for him.
3If the sun has risen on him, he is guilty of bloodshed. He shall make restitution. If he has nothing, then he shall be sold for his theft.
4If the stolen property is found in his hand alive, whether it is ox, donkey, or sheep, he shall pay double.
5“If a man causes a field or vineyard to be eaten by letting his animal loose, and it grazes in another man’s field, he shall make restitution from the best of his own field, and from the best of his own vineyard.
6“If fire breaks out, and catches in thorns so that the shocks of grain, or the standing grain, or the field are consumed; he who kindled the fire shall surely make restitution.
7“If a man delivers to his neighbor money or stuff to keep, and it is stolen out of the man’s house, if the thief is found, he shall pay double.
8If the thief isn’t found, then the master of the house shall come near to God, to find out whether or not he has put his hand on his neighbor’s goods.

18“You shall not allow a sorceress to live.
19“Whoever has sex with an animal shall surely be put to death.
20“He who sacrifices to any god, except to the LORD only, shall be utterly destroyed.
21“You shall not wrong an alien or oppress him, for you were aliens in the land of Egypt.
22“You shall not take advantage of any widow or fatherless child.
23If you take advantage of them at all, and they cry at all to me, I will surely hear their cry;
24and my wrath will grow hot, and I will kill you with the sword; and your wives shall be widows, and your children fatherless.
25“If you lend money to any of my people with you who is poor, you shall not be to him as a creditor. You shall not charge him interest.
26If you take your neighbor’s garment as collateral, you shall restore it to him before the sun goes down,
27for that is his only covering, it is his garment for his skin. What would he sleep in? It will happen, when he cries to me, that I will hear, for I am gracious.
28“You shall not blaspheme God, nor curse a ruler of your people.
29“You shall not delay to offer from your harvest and from the outflow of your presses. “You shall give the firstborn of your sons to me.
30You shall do likewise with your cattle and with your sheep. It shall be with its mother seven days, then on the eighth day you shall give it to me.
31“You shall be holy men to me, therefore you shall not eat any meat that is torn by animals in the field. You shall cast it to the dogs.
