Éxodo 22

Ni du délit déclaré ; que l'on ait pris veau, ou âne, ou brebis, ou vêtement, ou quoi que ce soit, un jugement sera rendu devant Dieu entre le plaignant et le dépositaire, et celui qui sera découvert par le Seigneur restituera le double.

Si el ladrón no se hallare, entonces el dueño de la casa será presentado á los jueces, para ver si ha metido su mano en la hacienda de su prójimo.

If the thief be not found, then the master of the house shall be brought unto the judges, to see whether he have put his hand unto his neighbour’s goods.

If the thief isn’t found, then the master of the house shall come near to God, to find out whether or not he has put his hand on his neighbor’s goods.
