Éxodo 21

"Ahora estos son los decretos que tú debes presentar delante de ellos:

Y ESTOS son los derechos que les propondrás.

Now these are the judgments which thou shalt set before them.

“Now these are the ordinances which you shall set before them:

'Si compran un siervo hebreo, él está para servir por seis años, y en el séptimo año él saldrá libre sin pagar nada.

Si comprares siervo hebreo, seis años servirá; mas el séptimo saldrá horro de balde.

If thou buy an Hebrew servant, six years he shall serve: and in the seventh he shall go out free for nothing.

“If you buy a Hebrew servant, he shall serve six years, and in the seventh he shall go out free without paying anything.

Si él vino solo, él debe salir libre solo; si él está casado, entonces su esposa debe salir libre con él.

Si entró solo, solo saldrá: si tenía mujer, saldrá él y su mujer con él.

If he came in by himself, he shall go out by himself: if he were married, then his wife shall go out with him.

If he comes in by himself, he shall go out by himself. If he is married, then his wife shall go out with him.

Si su amo le dio una esposa y ella le dio hijos o hijas, la esposa y sus hijos pertenecerán al amo de ella, y él debe salir libre solo.

Si su amo le hubiere dado mujer, y ella le hubiere parido hijos ó hijas, la mujer y sus hijos serán de su amo, y él saldrá solo.

If his master have given him a wife, and she have born him sons or daughters; the wife and her children shall be her master’s, and he shall go out by himself.

If his master gives him a wife and she bears him sons or daughters, the wife and her children shall be her master’s, and he shall go out by himself.

Pero si el siervo claramente dice: "Yo amo mi amo, mi esposa y mis hijos; yo no saldré libre",

Y si el siervo dijere: Yo amo á mi señor, á mi mujer y á mis hijos, no saldré libre:

And if the servant shall plainly say, I love my master, my wife, and my children; I will not go out free:

But if the servant shall plainly say, ‘I love my master, my wife, and my children. I will not go out free;’

entonces su amo debe traerlo a Dios. El amo debe traerlo a una puerta o al marco de una puerta, y su amo debe agujerear su oreja con un punzón. Entonces el siervo le servirá por el resto de su vida.

Entonces su amo lo hará llegar á los jueces, y harále llegar á la puerta ó al poste; y su amo le horadará la oreja con lesna, y será su siervo para siempre.

Then his master shall bring him unto the judges; he shall also bring him to the door, or unto the door post; and his master shall bore his ear through with an aul; and he shall serve him for ever.

then his master shall bring him to God, and shall bring him to the door or to the doorpost, and his master shall bore his ear through with an awl, and he shall serve him forever.

Si un hombre vende su hija como una sierva, ella no debe salir libre, como los siervos varones lo hacen.

Y cuando alguno vendiere su hija por sierva, no saldrá como suelen salir los siervos.

And if a man sell his daughter to be a maidservant, she shall not go out as the menservants do.

“If a man sells his daughter to be a female servant, she shall not go out as the male servants do.

Si ella no complace a su amo, quien la ha designado para él mismo, entonces él debe dejar que sea comprada de vuelta. Él no tiene derecho para venderla a personas extranjeras. Él no tiene tal derecho, ya que él la ha tratado engañosamente.

Si no agradare á su señor, por lo cual no la tomó por esposa, permitirle ha que se rescate, y no la podrá vender á pueblo extraño cuando la desechare.

If she please not her master, who hath betrothed her to himself, then shall he let her be redeemed: to sell her unto a strange nation he shall have no power, seeing he hath dealt deceitfully with her.

If she doesn’t please her master, who has married her to himself, then he shall let her be redeemed. He shall have no right to sell her to a foreign people, since he has dealt deceitfully with her.

Si su amo la designa como una esposa para su hijo, él debe tratarla igual como si fuera su hija.

Mas si la hubiere desposado con su hijo, hará con ella según la costumbre de las hijas.

And if he have betrothed her unto his son, he shall deal with her after the manner of daughters.

If he marries her to his son, he shall deal with her as a daughter.

Si él toma otra esposa para sí mismo, él no debe disminuir su comida, ropa, o sus derechos maritales.

Si le tomare otra, no disminuirá su alimento, ni su vestido, ni el débito conyugal.

If he take him another wife; her food, her raiment, and her duty of marriage, shall he not diminish.

If he takes another wife to himself, he shall not diminish her food, her clothing, and her marital rights.

Pero si él no provee estas tres cosas para ella, entonces ella pueda salir libre sin pagar ningún dinero.

Y si ninguna de estas tres cosas hiciere, ella saldrá de gracia sin dinero.

And if he do not these three unto her, then shall she go out free without money.

If he doesn’t do these three things for her, she may go free without paying any money.

Quien golpee a un hombre y este muere, ciertamente esa persona debe ser puesto a muerte.

El que hiriere á alguno, haciéndole así morir, él morirá.

He that smiteth a man, so that he die, shall be surely put to death.

“One who strikes a man so that he dies shall surely be put to death,

Si el hombre no lo hizo con premeditación, pero en cambio por accidente, entonces yo arreglaré un lugar donde él pueda huir.

Mas el que no armó asechanzas, sino que Dios lo puso en sus manos, entonces yo te señalaré lugar al cual ha de huir.

And if a man lie not in wait, but God deliver him into his hand; then I will appoint thee a place whither he shall flee.

but not if it is unintentional, but God allows it to happen; then I will appoint you a place where he shall flee.

Si un hombre intencionalmente ataca a su vecino y lo mata de acuerdo a un plan astuto, entonces debe ser tomado, incluso si él está en el altar de Dios, para que él muera.

Además, si alguno se ensoberbeciere contra su prójimo, y lo matare con alevosía, de mi altar lo quitarás para que muera.

But if a man come presumptuously upon his neighbour, to slay him with guile; thou shalt take him from mine altar, that he may die.

If a man schemes and comes presumptuously on his neighbor to kill him, you shall take him from my altar, that he may die.

Cualquiera que golpea a su padre o madre debe ciertamente ser puesto a muerte.

Y el que hiriere á su padre ó á su madre, morirá.

And he that smiteth his father, or his mother, shall be surely put to death.

“Anyone who attacks his father or his mother shall be surely put to death.

Cualquiera que secuestre a una persona y la venda, o la persona es encontrada en su posesión, ese secuestrador debe ciertamente ser puesto a muerte.

Asimismo el que robare una persona, y la vendiere, ó se hallare en sus manos, morirá.

And he that stealeth a man, and selleth him, or if he be found in his hand, he shall surely be put to death.

“Anyone who kidnaps someone and sells him, or if he is found in his hand, he shall surely be put to death.

Cualquiera que maldiga a su padre o a su madre debe ciertamente ser puesto a muerte.

Igualmente el que maldijere á su padre ó á su madre, morirá.

And he that curseth his father, or his mother, shall surely be put to death.

“Anyone who curses his father or his mother shall surely be put to death.

Si los hombres pelean y uno golpea al otro con una piedra o con su puño, y esa persona no muere, pero está confinada a su cama;

Además, si algunos riñeren, y alguno hiriere á su prójimo con piedra ó con el puño, y no muriere, pero cayere en cama;

And if men strive together, and one smite another with a stone, or with his fist, and he die not, but keepeth his bed:

“If men quarrel and one strikes the other with a stone, or with his fist, and he doesn’t die, but is confined to bed;

entonces si él se recupera y es capaz de pasearse usando su bastón, el hombre que lo golpeó debe pagar por la pérdida de su tiempo; él debe también pagar por su completa recuperación. Pero ese hombre no es culpable de asesinato.

Si se levantare y anduviere fuera sobre su báculo, entonces será el que le hirió absuelto: solamente le satisfará lo que estuvo parado, y hará que le curen.

If he rise again, and walk abroad upon his staff, then shall he that smote him be quit: only he shall pay for the loss of his time, and shall cause him to be thoroughly healed.

if he rises again and walks around with his staff, then he who struck him shall be cleared; only he shall pay for the loss of his time, and shall provide for his healing until he is thoroughly healed.

Si un hombre golpea a su siervo o sierva con un bastón, y si el siervo muere como resultado de la lesión, entonces ese hombre debe ser ciertamente castigado.

Y si alguno hiriere á su siervo ó á su sierva con palo, y muriere bajo de su mano, será castigado:

And if a man smite his servant, or his maid, with a rod, and he die under his hand; he shall be surely punished.

“If a man strikes his servant or his maid with a rod, and he dies under his hand, the man shall surely be punished.

Sin embargo, si el sirviente vive por un día o dos, el amo no debe ser castigado, pues él habrá sufrido la pérdida del siervo.

Mas si durare por un día ó dos, no será castigado, porque su dinero es.

Notwithstanding, if he continue a day or two, he shall not be punished: for he is his money.

Notwithstanding, if his servant gets up after a day or two, he shall not be punished, for the servant is his property.

Si hombres pelean y lastiman a una mujer embarazada y ella aborta, pero no hay ninguna otra lesión en ella, entonces el hombre culpable deber ser ciertamente multado, como el esposo de la mujer demande de él, y él debe pagar como lo determinen los jueces.

Si algunos riñeren, é hiriesen á mujer preñada, y ésta abortare, pero sin haber muerte, será penado conforme á lo que le impusiere el marido de la mujer y juzgaren los árbitros.

If men strive, and hurt a woman with child, so that her fruit depart from her, and yet no mischief follow: he shall be surely punished, according as the woman’s husband will lay upon him; and he shall pay as the judges determine.

“If men fight and hurt a pregnant woman so that she gives birth prematurely, and yet no harm follows, he shall be surely fined as much as the woman’s husband demands and the judges allow.

Pero si hay una lesión seria, entonces tú debes dar una vida por una vida,

Mas si hubiere muerte, entonces pagarás vida por vida,

And if any mischief follow, then thou shalt give life for life,

But if any harm follows, then you must take life for life,

un ojo por un ojo, un diente por un diente, una mano por una mano, un pie por un pie,

Ojo por ojo, diente por diente, mano por mano, pie por pie,

Eye for eye, tooth for tooth, hand for hand, foot for foot,

eye for eye, tooth for tooth, hand for hand, foot for foot,

una quemadura por una quemadura, una herida por una herida, o un moretón por un moretón.

Quemadura por quemadura, herida por herida, golpe por golpe.

Burning for burning, wound for wound, stripe for stripe.

burning for burning, wound for wound, and bruise for bruise.

Si un hombre golpea el ojo de su siervo o sierva y lo destruye, entonces él debe permitir que el siervo salga libre en compensación por su ojo.

Y cuando alguno hiriere el ojo de su siervo, ó el ojo de su sierva, y lo entortare, darále libertad por razón de su ojo.

And if a man smite the eye of his servant, or the eye of his maid, that it perish; he shall let him go free for his eye’s sake.

“If a man strikes his servant’s eye, or his maid’s eye, and destroys it, he shall let him go free for his eye’s sake.

Si le saca un diente de su siervo o sierva, él debe permitir que el siervo salga libre como compensación por el diente.

Y si sacare el diente de su siervo, ó el diente de su sierva, por su diente le dejará ir libre.

And if he smite out his manservant’s tooth, or his maidservant’s tooth; he shall let him go free for his tooth’s sake.

If he strikes out his male servant’s tooth, or his female servant’s tooth, he shall let the servant go free for his tooth’s sake.

Si un buey cornea a un hombre o una mujer a muerte, el buey debe ciertamente ser apedreado, y su carne no debe ser comida; pero el dueño del buey debe ser absuelto de culpa.

Si un buey acorneare hombre ó mujer, y de resultas muriere, el buey será apedreado, y no se comerá su carne; mas el dueño del buey será absuelto.

If an ox gore a man or a woman, that they die: then the ox shall be surely stoned, and his flesh shall not be eaten; but the owner of the ox shall be quit.

“If a bull gores a man or a woman to death, the bull shall surely be stoned, and its meat shall not be eaten; but the owner of the bull shall not be held responsible.

Pero si el buey tenía un hábito de cornear en el pasado, y su dueño estuvo advertido pero no lo mantuvo encerrado, y el buey ha matado un hombre o una mujer, ese buey debe ser apedreado, y su dueño también debe ser puesto a muerte.

Pero si el buey era acorneador desde ayer y antes de ayer, y á su dueño le fué hecho requerimiento, y no lo hubiere guardado, y matare hombre ó mujer, el buey será apedreado, y también morirá su dueño.

But if the ox were wont to push with his horn in time past, and it hath been testified to his owner, and he hath not kept him in, but that he hath killed a man or a woman; the ox shall be stoned, and his owner also shall be put to death.

But if the bull had a habit of goring in the past, and this has been testified to its owner, and he has not kept it in, but it has killed a man or a woman, the bull shall be stoned, and its owner shall also be put to death.

Si un pago es requerido por su vida, él debe pagar lo que sea que le es requerido pagar.

Si le fuere impuesto rescate, entonces dará por el rescate de su persona cuanto le fuere impuesto.

If there be laid on him a sum of money, then he shall give for the ransom of his life whatsoever is laid upon him.

If a ransom is imposed on him, then he shall give for the redemption of his life whatever is imposed.

Si el buey ha corneado al hijo o hija de un hombre, el dueño del buey debe hacer lo que este decreto le requiere hacer.

Haya acorneado hijo, ó haya acorneado hija, conforme á este juicio se hará con él.

Whether he have gored a son, or have gored a daughter, according to this judgment shall it be done unto him.

Whether it has gored a son or has gored a daughter, according to this judgment it shall be done to him.

Si el buey cornea a un siervo o una sierva, el dueño del buey debe pagar 30 siclos de plata, y el buey debe ser apedreado.

Si el buey acorneare siervo ó sierva, pagará treinta siclos de plata su señor, y el buey será apedreado.

If the ox shall push a manservant or a maidservant; he shall give unto their master thirty shekels of silver, and the ox shall be stoned.

If the bull gores a male servant or a female servant, thirty shekels of silver shall be given to their master, and the ox shall be stoned.

Si un hombre abre un pozo, o si un hombre cava un pozo y no lo cubre, y un buey o asno cae en él,

Y si alguno abriere hoyo, ó cavare cisterna, y no la cubriere, y cayere allí buey ó asno,

And if a man shall open a pit, or if a man shall dig a pit, and not cover it, and an ox or an ass fall therein;

“If a man opens a pit, or if a man digs a pit and doesn’t cover it, and a bull or a donkey falls into it,

el dueño del pozo debe pagar por la pérdida. Él debe darle dinero al dueño del animal muerto, y el animal muerto será suyo.

El dueño de la cisterna pagará el dinero, resarciendo á su dueño, y lo que fué muerto será suyo.

The owner of the pit shall make it good, and give money unto the owner of them; and the dead beast shall be his.

the owner of the pit shall make it good. He shall give money to its owner, and the dead animal shall be his.

Si el buey de un hombre lastima al buey de otro hombre y muere, entonces ellos deben vender al buey vivo y dividir su precio, y ellos deben también dividir al buey muerto.

Y si el buey de alguno hiriere al buey de su prójimo, y éste muriere, entonces venderán el buey vivo, y partirán el dinero de él, y también partirán el muerto.

And if one man’s ox hurt another’s, that he die; then they shall sell the live ox, and divide the money of it; and the dead ox also they shall divide.

“If one man’s bull injures another’s, so that it dies, then they shall sell the live bull, and divide its price; and they shall also divide the dead animal.

Pero si era conocido que el buey tenía un hábito de cornear en el pasado, y su dueño no lo ha mantenido dentro, él debe ciertamente pagar buey por buey, y el animal muerto se convertirá en el suyo.

Mas si era notorio que el buey era acorneador de ayer y antes de ayer, y su dueño no lo hubiere guardado, pagará buey por buey, y el muerto será suyo.

Or if it be known that the ox hath used to push in time past, and his owner hath not kept him in; he shall surely pay ox for ox; and the dead shall be his own.

Or if it is known that the bull was in the habit of goring in the past, and its owner has not kept it in, he shall surely pay bull for bull, and the dead animal shall be his own.
