Toute l'assemblée des enfants d'Israël partit du désert de Sin, par étapes, selon le commandement du SEIGNEUR, et ils campèrent à Rephidim ; mais il n'y avait point d'eau à boire pour le peuple.
Y TODA la congregación de los hijos de Israel partió del desierto de Sin, por sus jornadas, al mandamiento de Jehová, y asentaron el campo en Rephidim: y no había agua para que el pueblo bebiese.
And all the congregation of the children of Israel journeyed from the wilderness of Sin, after their journeys, according to the commandment of the LORD, and pitched in Rephidim: and there was no water for the people to drink.

Le peuple chercha alors querelle à Moïse, et dit : « Donnez-nous de l'eau à boire. » Moïse leur répondit : « Pourquoi me cherchez-vous querelle ? Pourquoi mettez-vous le SEIGNEUR à l'épreuve ? »
Y altercó el pueblo con Moisés, y dijeron: Danos agua que bebamos. Y Moisés les dijo: ¿Por qué altercáis conmigo? ¿por qué tentáis á Jehová?
Wherefore the people did chide with Moses, and said, Give us water that we may drink. And Moses said unto them, Why chide ye with me? wherefore do ye tempt the LORD?
Therefore the people quarreled with Moses, and said, “Give us water to drink.” Moses said to them, “Why do you quarrel with me? Why do you test the LORD?”
Le peuple eut soif d'eau en ce lieu, et il murmura contre Moïse, en disant : « Pourquoi nous as-tu fait monter d'Égypte, pour nous faire mourir de soif, nous, nos enfants et nos troupeaux ? »
Así que el pueblo tuvo allí sed de agua, y murmuró contra Moisés, y dijo: ¿Por qué nos hiciste subir de Egipto, para matarnos de sed á nosotros, y á nuestros hijos, y á nuestros ganados?
And the people thirsted there for water; and the people murmured against Moses, and said, Wherefore is this that thou hast brought us up out of Egypt, to kill us and our children and our cattle with thirst?
The people were thirsty for water there; so the people murmured against Moses, and said, “Why have you brought us up out of Egypt, to kill us, our children, and our livestock with thirst?”
Moïse cria au SEIGNEUR, en disant : « Que ferai-je pour ce peuple ? Encore un peu, et ils me lapideront ! »
Entonces clamó Moisés á Jehová, diciendo: ¿Qué haré con este pueblo? de aquí á un poco me apedrearán.
And Moses cried unto the LORD, saying, What shall I do unto this people? they be almost ready to stone me.
Moses cried to the LORD, saying, “What shall I do with these people? They are almost ready to stone me.”
Le SEIGNEUR dit à Moïse : « Passe devant le peuple, et prends avec toi des anciens d'Israël ; prends aussi dans ta main ton bâton, avec lequel tu as frappé le Nil, et va.
Y Jehová dijo á Moisés: Pasa delante del pueblo, y toma contigo de los ancianos de Israel; y toma también en tu mano tu vara, con que heriste el río, y ve:
And the LORD said unto Moses, Go on before the people, and take with thee of the elders of Israel; and thy rod, wherewith thou smotest the river, take in thine hand, and go.
The LORD said to Moses, “Walk on before the people, and take the elders of Israel with you, and take the rod in your hand with which you struck the Nile, and go.

Il donna à ce lieu le nom de Massa, et de Meriba, parce que les enfants d'Israël l'avaient querellé, et parce qu'ils avaient mis le SEIGNEUR à l'épreuve, en disant : « Le SEIGNEUR est-il au milieu de nous, ou non ? »
Y llamó el nombre de aquel lugar Massah y Meribah, por la rencilla de los hijos de Israel, y porque tentaron á Jehová, diciendo: ¿Está, pues, Jehová entre nosotros, ó no?
And he called the name of the place Massah, and Meribah, because of the chiding of the children of Israel, and because they tempted the LORD, saying, Is the LORD among us, or not?

Alors Amalec vint combattre Israël à Rephidim.

Moïse dit à Josué : « Choisis-nous des hommes, et sors combattre Amalec. Demain je me tiendrai au sommet de la colline, le bâton de Dieu dans ma main. »
Y dijo Moisés á Josué: Escógenos varones, y sal, pelea con Amalec: mañana yo estaré sobre la cumbre del collado, y la vara de Dios en mi mano.
And Moses said unto Joshua, Choose us out men, and go out, fight with Amalek: to morrow I will stand on the top of the hill with the rod of God in mine hand.
Moses said to Joshua, “Choose men for us, and go out to fight with Amalek. Tomorrow I will stand on the top of the hill with God’s rod in my hand.”
Josué fit ce que Moïse lui avait dit pour combattre Amalec. Et Moïse, Aaron et Hour montèrent au sommet de la colline.

Josué vainquit Amalec et son peuple au tranchant de l'épée.

Le SEIGNEUR dit à Moïse : « Écris cela dans un livre pour en garder le souvenir, et déclare aux oreilles de Josué que j'effacerai entièrement la mémoire d'Amalec de dessous le ciel. »
Y Jehová dijo á Moisés: Escribe esto para memoria en un libro, y di á Josué que del todo tengo de raer la memoria de Amalec de debajo del cielo.
And the LORD said unto Moses, Write this for a memorial in a book, and rehearse it in the ears of Joshua: for I will utterly put out the remembrance of Amalek from under heaven.
The LORD said to Moses, “Write this for a memorial in a book, and rehearse it in the ears of Joshua: that I will utterly blot out the memory of Amalek from under the sky.”
Moïse bâtit un autel, et lui donna pour nom : « Le SEIGNEUR est ma bannière ».

For he said, Because the LORD hath sworn that the LORD will have war with Amalek from generation to generation.
