Après avoir quitté le désert de Sin, la synagogue des fils d'Israël établit ses campements comme le prescrivit le Seigneur et campa en Rhaphidin, où il n'y avait point d'eau à boire pour le peuple.

Y TODA la congregación de los hijos de Israel partió del desierto de Sin, por sus jornadas, al mandamiento de Jehová, y asentaron el campo en Rephidim: y no había agua para que el pueblo bebiese.

And all the congregation of the children of Israel journeyed from the wilderness of Sin, after their journeys, according to the commandment of the LORD, and pitched in Rephidim: and there was no water for the people to drink.

All the congregation of the children of Israel traveled from the wilderness of Sin, starting according to the LORD’s commandment, and encamped in Rephidim; but there was no water for the people to drink.

Alors, le peuple injuria Moïse, disant : Donne-nous de l'eau, afin que nous buvions ; et Moïse leur dit : Pourquoi m'injuriez-vous ? Pourquoi tentez- vous le Seigneur ?

Y altercó el pueblo con Moisés, y dijeron: Danos agua que bebamos. Y Moisés les dijo: ¿Por qué altercáis conmigo? ¿por qué tentáis á Jehová?

Wherefore the people did chide with Moses, and said, Give us water that we may drink. And Moses said unto them, Why chide ye with me? wherefore do ye tempt the LORD?

Therefore the people quarreled with Moses, and said, “Give us water to drink.” Moses said to them, “Why do you quarrel with me? Why do you test the LORD?”

En ce lieu, le peuple souffrit de la soif, et le peuple murmura contre Moïse, disant : Qu'as-tu fait ? Nous as-tu tirés de l'Égypte pour nous faire mourir de soif, nous, et nos enfants et notre bétail ?

Así que el pueblo tuvo allí sed de agua, y murmuró contra Moisés, y dijo: ¿Por qué nos hiciste subir de Egipto, para matarnos de sed á nosotros, y á nuestros hijos, y á nuestros ganados?

And the people thirsted there for water; and the people murmured against Moses, and said, Wherefore is this that thou hast brought us up out of Egypt, to kill us and our children and our cattle with thirst?

The people were thirsty for water there; so the people murmured against Moses, and said, “Why have you brought us up out of Egypt, to kill us, our children, and our livestock with thirst?”

Moïse aussitôt cria au Seigneur, disant : Que ferai-je à ce peuple ! Encore un peu, et ils me lapideront.

Entonces clamó Moisés á Jehová, diciendo: ¿Qué haré con este pueblo? de aquí á un poco me apedrearán.

And Moses cried unto the LORD, saying, What shall I do unto this people? they be almost ready to stone me.

Moses cried to the LORD, saying, “What shall I do with these people? They are almost ready to stone me.”

Et le Seigneur dit à Moïse : Avance-toi en face de ce peuple, prends avec toi quelques-uns des anciens du peuple, prends à la main la baguette avec laquelle tu as frappé le fleuve, et pars.

Y Jehová dijo á Moisés: Pasa delante del pueblo, y toma contigo de los ancianos de Israel; y toma también en tu mano tu vara, con que heriste el río, y ve:

And the LORD said unto Moses, Go on before the people, and take with thee of the elders of Israel; and thy rod, wherewith thou smotest the river, take in thine hand, and go.

The LORD said to Moses, “Walk on before the people, and take the elders of Israel with you, and take the rod in your hand with which you struck the Nile, and go.

Et moi je me tiens, avant que tu y arrives, sur les rochers d'Horeb ; là tu frapperas la pierre ; il en sortira de l'eau, et le peuple boira. Ainsi fit Moïse devant les fils d'Israël.

He aquí que yo estoy delante de ti allí sobre la peña en Horeb; y herirás la peña, y saldrán de ella aguas, y beberá el pueblo. Y Moisés lo hizo así en presencia de los ancianos de Israel.

Behold, I will stand before thee there upon the rock in Horeb; and thou shalt smite the rock, and there shall come water out of it, that the people may drink. And Moses did so in the sight of the elders of Israel.

Behold, I will stand before you there on the rock in Horeb. You shall strike the rock, and water will come out of it, that the people may drink.” Moses did so in the sight of the elders of Israel.

Et il nomma ce lieu : Tentation et Outrage, à cause des injures des fils d'Israël, et parce qu'ils avaient tenté le Seigneur, disant : Le Seigneur est- il avec nous, oui ou non ?

Y llamó el nombre de aquel lugar Massah y Meribah, por la rencilla de los hijos de Israel, y porque tentaron á Jehová, diciendo: ¿Está, pues, Jehová entre nosotros, ó no?

And he called the name of the place Massah, and Meribah, because of the chiding of the children of Israel, and because they tempted the LORD, saying, Is the LORD among us, or not?

Peu après, Amalec vint apporter la guerre à Israël en Rhaphidin.

Y vino Amalec, y peleó con Israel en Rephidim.

Then came Amalek, and fought with Israel in Rephidim.

Et Moïse dit à Josué : Choisis avec toi les hommes forts ; sors à leur tête demain matin, et range-les en bataille devant Amalec ; cependant, je me tiendrai sur la cime du mont, la baguette de Dieu à la main.

Y dijo Moisés á Josué: Escógenos varones, y sal, pelea con Amalec: mañana yo estaré sobre la cumbre del collado, y la vara de Dios en mi mano.

And Moses said unto Joshua, Choose us out men, and go out, fight with Amalek: to morrow I will stand on the top of the hill with the rod of God in mine hand.

Moses said to Joshua, “Choose men for us, and go out to fight with Amalek. Tomorrow I will stand on the top of the hill with God’s rod in my hand.”

Josué fit ce que lui avait prescrit Moïse ; il sortit, se rangea en bataille devant Amalec, et Moïse, avec Aaron et Hur, monta sur la cime du mont.

E hizo Josué como le dijo Moisés, peleando con Amalec; y Moisés y Aarón y Hur subieron á la cumbre del collado.

So Joshua did as Moses had said to him, and fought with Amalek: and Moses, Aaron, and Hur went up to the top of the hill.

And it came to pass, when Moses held up his hand, that Israel prevailed: and when he let down his hand, Amalek prevailed.

Comme ses bras se fatiguaient, Hur et Aaron placèrent sous lui une pierre, sur laquelle il s'assit ; puis, Aaron et Hur soutinrent ses bras l'un d'un côté, l'autre de l'autre ; et les bras de Moïse furent soutenus jusqu'au coucher du soleil.

But Moses’ hands were heavy; and they took a stone, and put it under him, and he sat thereon; and Aaron and Hur stayed up his hands, the one on the one side, and the other on the other side; and his hands were steady until the going down of the sun.

Josué mit en fuite Amalec, et il passa tout son peuple au fil de l'épée.

Y Josué deshizo á Amalec y á su pueblo á filo de espada.

And Joshua discomfited Amalek and his people with the edge of the sword.

Et le Seigneur dit à Moïse : Écris cela sur un livre, que ce soit un mémorial ; ensuite dis à Josué cette parole : J'effacerai de la terre le souvenir d'Amalec.

Y Jehová dijo á Moisés: Escribe esto para memoria en un libro, y di á Josué que del todo tengo de raer la memoria de Amalec de debajo del cielo.

And the LORD said unto Moses, Write this for a memorial in a book, and rehearse it in the ears of Joshua: for I will utterly put out the remembrance of Amalek from under heaven.

The LORD said to Moses, “Write this for a memorial in a book, and rehearse it in the ears of Joshua: that I will utterly blot out the memory of Amalek from under the sky.”

Et Moïse bâtit au Seigneur un autel, qu'il nomma : le Seigneur est mon refuge.

Y Moisés edificó un altar, y llamó su nombre Jehová-nissi;

And Moses built an altar, and called the name of it Jehovah-nissi:

Car, dit-il, le Seigneur, d'une main inflexible, combattra contre Amalec de génération en génération.

Y dijo: Por cuanto la mano sobre el trono de Jehová, Jehová tendrá guerra con Amalec de generación en generación.

For he said, Because the LORD hath sworn that the LORD will have war with Amalek from generation to generation.

He said, “The LORD has sworn: ‘The LORD will have war with Amalek from generation to generation.’”
