1Alors Moïse et les enfants d’Israël chantèrent ce cantique à l’Éternel. Ils dirent: Je chanterai à l’Éternel, car il a fait éclater sa gloire; Il a précipité dans la mer le cheval et son cavalier.
2L’Éternel est ma force et le sujet de mes louanges; C’est lui qui m’a sauvé. Il est mon Dieu: je le célèbrerai; Il est le Dieu de mon père: je l’exalterai.
3L’Éternel est un vaillant guerrier; L’Éternel est son nom.
4Il a lancé dans la mer les chars de Pharaon et son armée; Ses combattants d’élite ont été engloutis dans la mer Rouge.
5Les flots les ont couverts: Ils sont descendus au fond des eaux, comme une pierre.
6Ta droite, ô Éternel! A signalé sa force; Ta droite, ô Éternel! A écrasé l’ennemi.
7Par la grandeur de ta majesté Tu renverses tes adversaires; Tu déchaînes ta colère: Elle les consume comme du chaume.
8Au souffle de tes narines, les eaux se sont amoncelées, Les courants se sont dressés comme une muraille, Les flots se sont durcis au milieu de la mer.
9L’ennemi disait: Je poursuivrai, j’atteindrai, Je partagerai le butin; Ma vengeance sera assouvie, Je tirerai l’épée, ma main les détruira.
10Tu as soufflé de ton haleine: La mer les a couverts; Ils se sont enfoncés comme du plomb, Dans la profondeur des eaux.
11Qui est comme toi parmi les dieux, ô Éternel? Qui est comme toi magnifique en sainteté, Digne de louanges, Opérant des prodiges?
12Tu as étendu ta droite: La terre les a engloutis.
13Par ta miséricorde tu as conduit, Tu as délivré ce peuple; Par ta puissance tu le diriges Vers la demeure de ta sainteté.
14Les peuples l’apprennent, et ils tremblent: La terreur s’empare des Philistins;
15Les chefs d’Édom s’épouvantent; Un tremblement saisit les guerriers de Moab; Tous les habitants de Canaan tombent en défaillance.
16La crainte et la frayeur les surprendront; Par la grandeur de ton bras Ils deviendront muets comme une pierre, Jusqu’à ce que ton peuple soit passé, ô Éternel! Jusqu’à ce qu’il soit passé, Le peuple que tu as acquis.
17Tu les amèneras et tu les établiras sur la montagne de ton héritage, Au lieu que tu as préparé pour ta demeure, ô Éternel! Au sanctuaire, Seigneur! Que tes mains ont fondé.
18L’Éternel régnera éternellement et à toujours.
19Car les chevaux de Pharaon, ses chars et ses cavaliers sont entrés dans la mer, Et l’Éternel a ramené sur eux les eaux de la mer; Mais les enfants d’Israël ont marché à sec au milieu de la mer.
20Marie, la prophétesse, sœur d’Aaron, prit à sa main un tambourin, et toutes les femmes vinrent après elle, avec des tambourins et en dansant.
21Marie répondait aux enfants d’Israël: Chantez à l’Éternel, car il a fait éclater sa gloire; Il a précipité dans la mer le cheval et son cavalier.
22Moïse fit partir Israël de la mer Rouge. Ils prirent la direction du désert de Schur; et, après trois journées de marche dans le désert, ils ne trouvèrent point d’eau.
23Ils arrivèrent à Mara; mais ils ne purent pas boire l’eau de Mara parce qu’elle était amère. C’est pourquoi ce lieu fut appelé Mara.
24Le peuple murmura contre Moïse, en disant: Que boirons-nous?
25Moïse cria à l’Éternel; et l’Éternel lui indiqua un bois, qu’il jeta dans l’eau. Et l’eau devint douce. Ce fut là que l’Éternel donna au peuple des lois et des ordonnances, et ce fut là qu’il le mit à l’épreuve.
26Il dit: Si tu écoutes attentivement la voix de l’Éternel, ton Dieu, si tu fais ce qui est droit à ses yeux, si tu prêtes l’oreille à ses commandements, et si tu observes toutes ses lois, je ne te frapperai d’aucune des maladies dont j’ai frappé les Égyptiens; car je suis l’Éternel, qui te guérit.
27Ils arrivèrent à Élim, où il y avait douze sources d’eau et soixante-dix palmiers. Ils campèrent là, près de l’eau.

1ENTONCES cantó Moisés y los hijos de Israel este cántico á Jehová, y dijeron: Cantaré yo á Jehová, porque se ha magnificado grandemente, echando en la mar al caballo y al que en él subía.
2Jehová es mi fortaleza, y mi canción, y hame sido por salud: éste es mi Dios, y á éste engrandeceré; Dios de mi padre, y á éste ensalzaré.
3Jehová, varón de guerra; Jehová es su nombre.
4Los carros de Faraón y á su ejército echó en la mar; y sus escogidos príncipes fueron hundidos en el mar Bermejo.
5Los abismos los cubrieron; como piedra descendieron á los profundos.
6Tu diestra, oh Jehová, ha sido magnificada en fortaleza; tu diestra, oh Jehová, ha quebrantado al enemigo.
7Y con la grandeza de tu poder has trastornado á los que se levantaron contra ti: enviaste tu furor; los tragó como á hojarasca.
8Con el soplo de tus narices se amontonaron las aguas; paráronse las corrientes como en un montón; los abismos se cuajaron en medio de la mar.
9El enemigo dijo: Perseguiré, prenderé, repartiré despojos; mi alma se henchirá de ellos; sacaré mi espada, destruirlos ha mi mano.
10Soplaste con tu viento, cubriólos la mar: hundiéronse como plomo en las impetuosas aguas.
11¿Quién como tú, Jehová, entre los dioses? ¿quién como tú, magnífico en santidad, terrible en loores, hacedor de maravillas?
12Extendiste tu diestra; la tierra los tragó.
13Condujiste en tu misericordia á este pueblo, al cual salvaste; llevástelo con tu fortaleza á la habitación de tu santuario.
14Oiránlo los pueblos, y temblarán; apoderarse ha dolor de los moradores de Palestina.
15Entonces los príncipes de Edom se turbarán; á los robustos de Moab los ocupará temblor; abatirse han todos los moradores de Canaán.
16Caiga sobre ellos temblor y espanto; á la grandeza de tu brazo enmudezcan como una piedra; hasta que haya pasado tu pueblo, oh Jehová, hasta que haya pasado este pueblo que tú rescataste.
17Tú los introducirás y los plantarás en el monte de tu heredad, en el lugar de tu morada, que tú has aparejado, oh Jehová; en el santuario del Señor, que han afirmado tus manos.
18Jehová reinará por los siglos de los siglos.
19Porque Faraón entró cabalgando con sus carros y su gente de á caballo en la mar, y Jehová volvió á traer las aguas de la mar sobre ellos; mas los hijos de Israel fueron en seco por medio de la mar.
20Y María la profetisa, hermana de Aarón, tomó un pandero en su mano, y todas las mujeres salieron en pos de ella con panderos y danzas;
21Y María les respondía: Cantad á Jehová; porque en extremo se ha engrandecido, echando en la mar al caballo, y al que en él subía.
22E hizo Moisés que partiese Israel del mar Bermejo, y salieron al desierto de Shur; y anduvieron tres días por el desierto sin hallar agua.
23Y llegaron á Mara, y no pudieron beber las aguas de Mara, porque eran amargas; por eso le pusieron el nombre de Mara.
24Entonces el pueblo murmuró contra Moisés, y dijo: ¿Qué hemos de beber?
25Y Moisés clamó á Jehová; y Jehová le mostró un árbol, el cual metídolo que hubo dentro de las aguas, las aguas se endulzaron. Allí les dió estatutos y ordenanzas, y allí los probó;
26Y dijo: Si oyeres atentamente la voz de Jehová tu Dios, é hicieres lo recto delante de sus ojos, y dieres oído á sus mandamientos, y guardares todos sus estatutos, ninguna enfermedad de las que envié á los Egipcios te enviaré á ti; porque yo soy Jehová tu Sanador.
27Y llegaron á Elim, donde había doce fuentes de aguas, y setenta palmas; y asentaron allí junto á las aguas.

1Then sang Moses and the children of Israel this song unto the LORD, and spake, saying, I will sing unto the LORD, for he hath triumphed gloriously: the horse and his rider hath he thrown into the sea.
2The LORD is my strength and song, and he is become my salvation: he is my God, and I will prepare him an habitation; my father’s God, and I will exalt him.
3The LORD is a man of war: the LORD is his name.
4Pharaoh’s chariots and his host hath he cast into the sea: his chosen captains also are drowned in the Red sea.
5The depths have covered them: they sank into the bottom as a stone.
6Thy right hand, O LORD, is become glorious in power: thy right hand, O LORD, hath dashed in pieces the enemy.
7And in the greatness of thine excellency thou hast overthrown them that rose up against thee: thou sentest forth thy wrath, which consumed them as stubble.
8And with the blast of thy nostrils the waters were gathered together, the floods stood upright as an heap, and the depths were congealed in the heart of the sea.
9The enemy said, I will pursue, I will overtake, I will divide the spoil; my lust shall be satisfied upon them; I will draw my sword, my hand shall destroy them.
10Thou didst blow with thy wind, the sea covered them: they sank as lead in the mighty waters.
11Who is like unto thee, O LORD, among the gods? who is like thee, glorious in holiness, fearful in praises, doing wonders?
12Thou stretchedst out thy right hand, the earth swallowed them.
13Thou in thy mercy hast led forth the people which thou hast redeemed: thou hast guided them in thy strength unto thy holy habitation.
14The people shall hear, and be afraid: sorrow shall take hold on the inhabitants of Palestina.
15Then the dukes of Edom shall be amazed; the mighty men of Moab, trembling shall take hold upon them; all the inhabitants of Canaan shall melt away.
16Fear and dread shall fall upon them; by the greatness of thine arm they shall be as still as a stone; till thy people pass over, O LORD, till the people pass over, which thou hast purchased.
17Thou shalt bring them in, and plant them in the mountain of thine inheritance, in the place, O LORD, which thou hast made for thee to dwell in, in the Sanctuary, O Lord, which thy hands have established.
18The LORD shall reign for ever and ever.
19For the horse of Pharaoh went in with his chariots and with his horsemen into the sea, and the LORD brought again the waters of the sea upon them; but the children of Israel went on dry land in the midst of the sea.
20And Miriam the prophetess, the sister of Aaron, took a timbrel in her hand; and all the women went out after her with timbrels and with dances.
21And Miriam answered them, Sing ye to the LORD, for he hath triumphed gloriously; the horse and his rider hath he thrown into the sea.
22So Moses brought Israel from the Red sea, and they went out into the wilderness of Shur; and they went three days in the wilderness, and found no water.
23And when they came to Marah, they could not drink of the waters of Marah, for they were bitter: therefore the name of it was called Marah.
24And the people murmured against Moses, saying, What shall we drink?
25And he cried unto the LORD; and the LORD shewed him a tree, which when he had cast into the waters, the waters were made sweet: there he made for them a statute and an ordinance, and there he proved them,
26And said, If thou wilt diligently hearken to the voice of the LORD thy God, and wilt do that which is right in his sight, and wilt give ear to his commandments, and keep all his statutes, I will put none of these diseases upon thee, which I have brought upon the Egyptians: for I am the LORD that healeth thee.
27And they came to Elim, where were twelve wells of water, and threescore and ten palm trees: and they encamped there by the waters.

1Then Moses and the children of Israel sang this song to the LORD, and said, “I will sing to the LORD, for he has triumphed gloriously. He has thrown the horse and his rider into the sea.

4He has cast Pharaoh’s chariots and his army into the sea. His chosen captains are sunk in the Red Sea.

17You will bring them in, and plant them in the mountain of your inheritance, the place, LORD, which you have made for yourself to dwell in: the sanctuary, Lord, which your hands have established.
18The LORD will reign forever and ever.”
19For the horses of Pharaoh went in with his chariots and with his horsemen into the sea, and the LORD brought back the waters of the sea on them; but the children of Israel walked on dry land in the middle of the sea.

24The people murmured against Moses, saying, “What shall we drink?”
25Then he cried to the LORD. The LORD showed him a tree, and he threw it into the waters, and the waters were made sweet. There he made a statute and an ordinance for them, and there he tested them.
26He said, “If you will diligently listen to the LORD your God’s voice, and will do that which is right in his eyes, and will pay attention to his commandments, and keep all his statutes, I will put none of the diseases on you which I have put on the Egyptians; for I am the LORD who heals you.”
27They came to Elim, where there were twelve springs of water and seventy palm trees. They encamped there by the waters.
