Da kamen sie nach Mara; aber sie konnten das Wasser wegen seiner Bitterkeit nicht trinken, denn es war sehr bitter. Daher hiess man den Ort Mara. (1) d.i. Bitterquell. (a) 4Mo 33:8

Y llegaron á Mara, y no pudieron beber las aguas de Mara, porque eran amargas; por eso le pusieron el nombre de Mara.

And when they came to Marah, they could not drink of the waters of Marah, for they were bitter: therefore the name of it was called Marah.
