E giunsero a Mara, e non potevano bere le acque di Mara per la loro amarezza: donde pose egli conveniente nome a quel luogo, chiamandolo Mara, cioè Amarezza.

Y llegaron á Mara, y no pudieron beber las aguas de Mara, porque eran amargas; por eso le pusieron el nombre de Mara.

And when they came to Marah, they could not drink of the waters of Marah, for they were bitter: therefore the name of it was called Marah.
