Habiendo, pues, el faraón, despedido al pueblo de Israel , no guió Dios a éste por el camino del país de los filisteos, aunque era el más corto; considerando que tal vez se arrepentiría al ver que le movían guerras, y se volvería a Egipto.
Y luego que Faraón dejó ir al pueblo, Dios no los llevó por el camino de la tierra de los Filisteos, que estaba cerca; porque dijo Dios: Que quizá no se arrepienta el pueblo cuando vieren la guerra, y se vuelvan á Egipto:
And it came to pass, when Pharaoh had let the people go, that God led them not through the way of the land of the Philistines, although that was near; for God said, Lest peradventure the people repent when they see war, and they return to Egypt:
