17Als Pharao das Volk entließ, führte es Gott nicht den Weg nach dem Philisterland, der doch der nächste war. Denn Gott sprach: "Daß es nicht das Volk gereue, wenn es Kämpfe sähe, und dann nach Ägypten wieder wollte!"
