1Darnach sprach der Herr zu Mose: Gehe zum Pharao; denn ich habe sein und seiner Leute Herz verstockt, damit ich diese meine Zeichen unter ihnen tue,
2und damit du deinen Kindern und Kindeskindern erzählest, wie übel ich den Ägyptern zugesetzt und was für Zeichen ich unter ihnen getan habe, damit ihr erkennet, dass ich der Herr bin.
3Da gingen Mose und Aaron zum Pharao und sagten zu ihm: So spricht der Herr, der Gott der Hebräer: Wie lange willst du dich noch weigern, dich vor mir zu demütigen? Lass mein Volk ziehen, dass es mir diene!
4Denn wenn du dich weigerst, mein Volk ziehen zu lassen, siehe, so bringe ich morgen Heuschrecken in dein Land;
5die sollen den ganzen Boden bedecken, dass man die Erde nicht mehr sehen kann, und sollen alles auffressen, was euch vom Hagel noch verschont geblieben ist, und auch alle Bäume kahl fressen, die euch auf dem Felde wachsen.
6Sie sollen deine Häuser und die Häuser deiner Leute und die Häuser aller Ägypter füllen, wie es deine Väter und Vorväter nie gesehen haben, seitdem sie im Lande wohnen, bis auf diesen Tag. Und er wandte sich und ging vom Pharao hinaus.
7Nun sprachen die Diener zum Pharao: Wie lange noch soll dieser Mensch unser Verderben sein? Lass doch die Leute ziehen, dass die dem Herrn, ihrem Gott, dienen! Siehst du noch nicht ein, dass Ägypten zugrunde geht?
8Da wurden Mose und Aaron zum Pharao zurückgerufen, und er sprach zu ihnen: Geht und dient dem Herrn, eurem Gott! Wer alles soll denn mitziehen?
9Mose antwortete: Wir alle wollen gehen, auch die Kinder und Greise, mit unsern Söhnen und Töchtern, und auch unsre Schafe und Rinder wollen wir mitnehmen; denn wir haben das Fest des Herrn zu feiern. (a) 2Mo 5:1
10Er aber sprach zu ihnen: So gewiss möge euer Gott mit euch sein, als ich euch mit euren Kindern ziehen lasse! Seht da, dass ihr Böses im Sinne habt!
11Daraus wird nichts! Ihr Männer mögt hingehen und eurem Gotte dienen; das ist ja euer Begehr. Und man jagte sie vom Pharao hinaus.
12Da sprach der Herr zu Mose: Strecke deine Hand aus über das Land Ägypten, dass die Heuschrecken über das Land Ägypten kommen und alles Gewächs der Erde auffressen, alles, was der Hagel übriggelassen hat. (a) Ps 78:46; 105:34 35
13Und Mose streckte seinen Stab aus über das Land Ägypten. Der Herr aber liess einen Ostwind ins Land wehen jenen ganzen Tag und die ganze Nacht; und als es Morgen ward, hatte der Ostwind die Heuschrecken gebracht.
14Da kamen die Heuschrecken über das ganze Land Ägypten und liessen sich im ganzen Gebiete von Ägypten nieder, eine gewaltige Menge; nie zuvor waren so viele Heuschrecken gekommen, und nie wieder werden so viele kommen.
15Und sie bedeckten den ganzen Boden, sodass man die Erde nicht mehr sah; und sie frassen alles Gewächs der Erde und alle Früchte auf den Bäumen, was der Hagel übriggelassen hatte, sodass nichts Grünes mehr übrigblieb an den Bäumen und am Gewächs des Feldes im ganzen Lande Ägypten.
16Da liess der Pharao eilends Mose und Aaron rufen und sprach: Ich habe gesündigt gegen den Herrn, euren Gott, und gegen euch. (a) 2Mo 9:27
17Und nun vergebt mir meine Sünde nur noch diesmal und bittet den Herrn, euren Gott, dass er nur dieses Verderben von mir abwende.
18Und Mose ging hinaus vom Pharao und betete zum Herrn.
19Da verwandelte der Herr den Wind in einen sehr starken Westwind; der hob die Heuschrecken auf und warf sie ins Schilfmeer, sodass nicht eine Heuschrecke mehr übrigblieb im ganzen Gebiet von Ägypten.
20Aber der Herr verstockte das Herz des Pharao, und er liess die Israeliten nicht ziehen.
21Darnach sprach der Herr zu Mose: Strecke deine Hand aus gen Himmel, so wird eine solche Finsternis kommen über das Land Ägypten, dass man die Finsternis greifen kann.
22Da streckte Mose seine Hand gen Himmel, und es entstand dichte Finsternis im ganzen Lande Ägypten, drei Tage lang:
23keiner konnte den andern sehen, und keiner stand auf von seinem Platze, drei Tage lang; aber die Israeliten alle hatten hellen Tag an ihren Wohnsitzen.
24Da liess der Pharao Mose rufen und sprach: Geht und dient eurem Gott; nur eure Schafe und Rinder sollen hier bleiben. Auch eure Kinder mögen mit euch ziehen!
25Mose erwiderte: Du sogar musst uns Schlachtopfer und Brandopfer geben, dass wir sie dem Herrn, unserm Gott, darbringen.
26Und auch unser Vieh soll mit uns gehen, nicht eine Klaue darf dahintenbleiben; denn davon müssen wir nehmen, um dem Herrn, unserm Gott, zu opfern. Wir wissen ja nicht, wieviel wir dem Herrn opfern müssen, bis wir dorthin kommen.
27Aber der Herr verstockte das Herz des Pharao, und er wollte sie nicht ziehen lassen.
28Und der Pharao sprach zu ihm: Hinweg von mir! Hüte dich, mir nochmals unter die Augen zu treten; denn sobald du mir wieder unter die Augen trittst, musst du sterben.
29Mose antwortete: Du hast's gesagt - ich werde dir nicht wieder unter die Augen treten.

1Y JEHOVÁ dijo á Moisés: Entra á Faraón; porque yo he agravado su corazón, y el corazón de sus siervos, para dar entre ellos estas mis señales;
2Y para que cuentes á tus hijos y á tus nietos las cosas que yo hice en Egipto, y mis señales que dí entre ellos; y para que sepáis que yo soy Jehová.
3Entonces vinieron Moisés y Aarón á Faraón, y le dijeron: Jehová, el Dios de los Hebreos, ha dicho así: ¿Hasta cuándo no querrás humillarte delante de mí? Deja ir á mi pueblo para que me sirvan.
4Y si aun rehusas dejarlo ir, he aquí que yo traeré mañana langosta en tus términos,
5La cual cubrirá la faz de la tierra, de modo que no pueda verse la tierra; y ella comerá lo que quedó salvo, lo que os ha quedado del granizo; comerá asimismo todo árbol que os produce fruto en el campo:
6Y llenarse han tus casas, y las casas de todos tus siervos, y las casas de todos los Egipcios, cual nunca vieron tus padres ni tus abuelos, desde que ellos fueron sobre la tierra hasta hoy. Y volvióse, y salió de con Faraón.
7Entonces los siervos de Faraón le dijeron: ¿Hasta cuándo nos ha de ser éste por lazo? Deja ir á estos hombres, para que sirvan á Jehová su Dios; ¿aun no sabes que Egipto está destruído?
8Y Moisés y Aarón volvieron á ser llamados á Faraón, el cual les dijo: Andad, servid á Jehová vuestro Dios. ¿Quién y quién son los que han de ir?
9Y Moisés respondió: Hemos de ir con nuestros niños y con nuestros viejos, con nuestros hijos y con nuestras hijas: con nuestras ovejas y con nuestras vacas hemos de ir; porque tenemos solemnidad de Jehová.
10Y él les dijo: Así sea Jehová con vosotros como yo os dejaré ir á vosotros y á vuestros niños: mirad como el mal está delante de vuestro rostro.
11No será así: id ahora vosotros los varones, y servid á Jehová: pues esto es lo que vosotros demandasteis. Y echáronlos de delante de Faraón.
12Entonces Jehová dijo á Moisés: Extiende tu mano sobre la tierra de Egipto para langosta, á fin de que suba sobre el país de Egipto, y consuma todo lo que el granizo dejó.
13Y extendió Moisés su vara sobre la tierra de Egipto, y Jehová trajo un viento oriental sobre el país todo aquel día y toda aquella noche; y á la mañana el viento oriental trajo la langosta:
14Y subió la langosta sobre toda la tierra de Egipto, y asentóse en todos los términos de Egipto, en gran manera grave: antes de ella no hubo langosta semejante, ni después de ella vendrá otra tal;
15Y cubrió la faz de todo el país, y oscurecióse la tierra; y consumió toda la hierba de la tierra, y todo el fruto de los árboles que había dejado el granizo; que no quedó cosa verde en árboles ni en hierba del campo, por toda la tierra de Egipto.
16Entonces Faraón hizo llamar apriesa á Moisés y á Aarón, y dijo: He pecado contra Jehová vuestro Dios, y contra vosotros.
17Mas ruego ahora que perdones mi pecado solamente esta vez, y que oréis á Jehová vuestro Dios que quite de mí solamente esta muerte.
18Y salió de con Faraón, y oró á Jehová.
19Y Jehová volvió un viento occidental fortísimo, y quitó la langosta, y arrojóla en el mar Bermejo: ni una langosta quedó en todo el término de Egipto.
20Mas Jehová endureció el corazón de Faraón; y no envió los hijos de Israel.
21Y Jehová dijo á Moisés: Extiende tu mano hacia el cielo, para que haya tinieblas sobre la tierra de Egipto, tales que cualquiera las palpe.
22Y extendió Moisés su mano hacia el cielo, y hubo densas tinieblas tres días por toda la tierra de Egipto.
23Ninguno vió á su prójimo, ni nadie se levantó de su lugar en tres días; mas todos los hijos de Israel tenían luz en sus habitaciones.
24Entonces Faraón hizo llamar á Moisés, y dijo: Id, servid á Jehová; solamente queden vuestras ovejas y vuestras vacas: vayan también vuestros niños con vosotros.
25Y Moisés respondió: Tú también nos entregarás sacrificios y holocaustos que sacrifiquemos á Jehová nuestro Dios.
26Nuestros ganados irán también con nosotros; no quedará ni una uña; porque de ellos hemos de tomar para servir á Jehová nuestro Dios; y no sabemos con qué hemos de servir á Jehová, hasta que lleguemos allá.
27Mas Jehová endureció el corazón de Faraón, y no quiso dejarlos ir.
28Y díjole Faraón: Retírate de mí: guárdate que no veas más mi rostro, porque en cualquier día que vieres mi rostro, morirás.
29Y Moisés respondió: Bien has dicho; no veré más tu rostro.

1And the LORD said unto Moses, Go in unto Pharaoh: for I have hardened his heart, and the heart of his servants, that I might shew these my signs before him:
2And that thou mayest tell in the ears of thy son, and of thy son’s son, what things I have wrought in Egypt, and my signs which I have done among them; that ye may know how that I am the LORD.
3And Moses and Aaron came in unto Pharaoh, and said unto him, Thus saith the LORD God of the Hebrews, How long wilt thou refuse to humble thyself before me? let my people go, that they may serve me.
4Else, if thou refuse to let my people go, behold, to morrow will I bring the locusts into thy coast:
5And they shall cover the face of the earth, that one cannot be able to see the earth: and they shall eat the residue of that which is escaped, which remaineth unto you from the hail, and shall eat every tree which groweth for you out of the field:
6And they shall fill thy houses, and the houses of all thy servants, and the houses of all the Egyptians; which neither thy fathers, nor thy fathers’ fathers have seen, since the day that they were upon the earth unto this day. And he turned himself, and went out from Pharaoh.
7And Pharaoh’s servants said unto him, How long shall this man be a snare unto us? let the men go, that they may serve the LORD their God: knowest thou not yet that Egypt is destroyed?
8And Moses and Aaron were brought again unto Pharaoh: and he said unto them, Go, serve the LORD your God: but who are they that shall go?
9And Moses said, We will go with our young and with our old, with our sons and with our daughters, with our flocks and with our herds will we go; for we must hold a feast unto the LORD.
10And he said unto them, Let the LORD be so with you, as I will let you go, and your little ones: look to it; for evil is before you.
11Not so: go now ye that are men, and serve the LORD; for that ye did desire. And they were driven out from Pharaoh’s presence.
12And the LORD said unto Moses, Stretch out thine hand over the land of Egypt for the locusts, that they may come up upon the land of Egypt, and eat every herb of the land, even all that the hail hath left.
13And Moses stretched forth his rod over the land of Egypt, and the LORD brought an east wind upon the land all that day, and all that night; and when it was morning, the east wind brought the locusts.
14And the locusts went up over all the land of Egypt, and rested in all the coasts of Egypt: very grievous were they; before them there were no such locusts as they, neither after them shall be such.
15For they covered the face of the whole earth, so that the land was darkened; and they did eat every herb of the land, and all the fruit of the trees which the hail had left: and there remained not any green thing in the trees, or in the herbs of the field, through all the land of Egypt.
16Then Pharaoh called for Moses and Aaron in haste; and he said, I have sinned against the LORD your God, and against you.
17Now therefore forgive, I pray thee, my sin only this once, and intreat the LORD your God, that he may take away from me this death only.
18And he went out from Pharaoh, and intreated the LORD.
19And the LORD turned a mighty strong west wind, which took away the locusts, and cast them into the Red sea; there remained not one locust in all the coasts of Egypt.
20But the LORD hardened Pharaoh’s heart, so that he would not let the children of Israel go.
21And the LORD said unto Moses, Stretch out thine hand toward heaven, that there may be darkness over the land of Egypt, even darkness which may be felt.
22And Moses stretched forth his hand toward heaven; and there was a thick darkness in all the land of Egypt three days:
23They saw not one another, neither rose any from his place for three days: but all the children of Israel had light in their dwellings.
24And Pharaoh called unto Moses, and said, Go ye, serve the LORD; only let your flocks and your herds be stayed: let your little ones also go with you.
25And Moses said, Thou must give us also sacrifices and burnt offerings, that we may sacrifice unto the LORD our God.
26Our cattle also shall go with us; there shall not an hoof be left behind; for thereof must we take to serve the LORD our God; and we know not with what we must serve the LORD, until we come thither.
27But the LORD hardened Pharaoh’s heart, and he would not let them go.
28And Pharaoh said unto him, Get thee from me, take heed to thyself, see my face no more; for in that day thou seest my face thou shalt die.
29And Moses said, Thou hast spoken well, I will see thy face again no more.

1The LORD said to Moses, “Go in to Pharaoh, for I have hardened his heart and the heart of his servants, that I may show these my signs among them;
2and that you may tell in the hearing of your son, and of your son’s son, what things I have done to Egypt, and my signs which I have done among them; that you may know that I am the LORD.”
3Moses and Aaron went in to Pharaoh, and said to him, “This is what the LORD, the God of the Hebrews, says: ‘How long will you refuse to humble yourself before me? Let my people go, that they may serve me.
4Or else, if you refuse to let my people go, behold, tomorrow I will bring locusts into your country,
5and they shall cover the surface of the earth, so that one won’t be able to see the earth. They shall eat the residue of that which has escaped, which remains to you from the hail, and shall eat every tree which grows for you out of the field.
6Your houses shall be filled, and the houses of all your servants, and the houses of all the Egyptians, as neither your fathers nor your fathers’ fathers have seen, since the day that they were on the earth to this day.’” He turned, and went out from Pharaoh.
7Pharaoh’s servants said to him, “How long will this man be a snare to us? Let the men go, that they may serve the LORD, their God. Don’t you yet know that Egypt is destroyed?”
8Moses and Aaron were brought again to Pharaoh, and he said to them, “Go, serve the LORD your God; but who are those who will go?”
9Moses said, “We will go with our young and with our old. We will go with our sons and with our daughters, with our flocks and with our herds; for we must hold a feast to the LORD.”
10He said to them, “The LORD be with you if I let you go with your little ones! See, evil is clearly before your faces.
11Not so! Go now you who are men, and serve the LORD; for that is what you desire!” Then they were driven out from Pharaoh’s presence.
12The LORD said to Moses, “Stretch out your hand over the land of Egypt for the locusts, that they may come up on the land of Egypt, and eat every herb of the land, even all that the hail has left.”
13Moses stretched out his rod over the land of Egypt, and the LORD brought an east wind on the land all that day, and all night; and when it was morning, the east wind brought the locusts.
14The locusts went up over all the land of Egypt, and rested in all the borders of Egypt. They were very grievous. Before them there were no such locusts as they, nor will there ever be again.
15For they covered the surface of the whole earth, so that the land was darkened, and they ate every herb of the land, and all the fruit of the trees which the hail had left. There remained nothing green, either tree or herb of the field, through all the land of Egypt.
16Then Pharaoh called for Moses and Aaron in haste, and he said, “I have sinned against the LORD your God, and against you.
17Now therefore please forgive my sin again, and pray to the LORD your God, that he may also take away from me this death.”
18Moses went out from Pharaoh, and prayed to the LORD.
19The LORD sent an exceedingly strong west wind, which took up the locusts, and drove them into the Red Sea. There remained not one locust in all the borders of Egypt.
20But the LORD hardened Pharaoh’s heart, and he didn’t let the children of Israel go.
21The LORD said to Moses, “Stretch out your hand toward the sky, that there may be darkness over the land of Egypt, even darkness which may be felt.”
22Moses stretched out his hand toward the sky, and there was a thick darkness in all the land of Egypt for three days.
23They didn’t see one another, and nobody rose from his place for three days; but all the children of Israel had light in their dwellings.
24Pharaoh called to Moses, and said, “Go, serve the LORD. Only let your flocks and your herds stay behind. Let your little ones also go with you.”
25Moses said, “You must also give into our hand sacrifices and burnt offerings, that we may sacrifice to the LORD our God.
26Our livestock also shall go with us. Not a hoof shall be left behind, for of it we must take to serve the LORD our God; and we don’t know with what we must serve the LORD, until we come there.”
27But the LORD hardened Pharaoh’s heart, and he wouldn’t let them go.
28Pharaoh said to him, “Get away from me! Be careful to see my face no more; for in the day you see my face you shall die!”
29Moses said, “You have spoken well. I will see your face again no more.”
