Perocché Aman figliuolo di Amadati, della stirpe di Agag, nemico, e persecutor de' Giudei macchinò la loro rovina, e di trucidarli, e sterminarli, e gettò le sorti, o sia in nostro linguaggio il Phur.

Porque Amán hijo de Amadatha, Agageo, enemigo de todos los Judíos, había ideado contra los Judíos para destruirlos, y echó Pur, que quiere decir suerte, para consumirlos y acabar con ellos.

Because Haman the son of Hammedatha, the Agagite, the enemy of all the Jews, had devised against the Jews to destroy them, and had cast Pur, that is, the lot, to consume them, and to destroy them;
