Depois destas coisas, quando a ira do rei Assuero se apaziguou, ele se lembrou de Vasti, do que ela havia feito e do que fora decretado contra ela.

PASADAS estas cosas, sosegada ya la ira del rey Assuero, acordóse de Vasthi, y de lo que hizo, y de lo que fué sentenciado contra ella.

After these things, when the wrath of king Ahasuerus was appeased, he remembered Vashti, and what she had done, and what was decreed against her.

Y ponga el rey personas en todas las provincias de su reino, que junten todas las mozas vírgenes de buen parecer en Susán residencia regia, en la casa de las mujeres, al cuidado de Hegai, eunuco del rey, guarda de las mujeres, dándoles sus atavíos;

And let the king appoint officers in all the provinces of his kingdom, that they may gather together all the fair young virgins unto Shushan the palace, to the house of the women, unto the custody of Hege the king’s chamberlain, keeper of the women; and let their things for purification be given them:

e que a jovem que agradar ao rei seja rainha em lugar de Vasti.” Isso agradou ao rei, e ele assim o fez.

El cual había sido trasportado de Jerusalem con los cautivos que fueron llevados con Jechônías rey de Judá, á quien hizo trasportar Nabucodonosor rey de Babilonia.

Who had been carried away from Jerusalem with the captivity which had been carried away with Jeconiah king of Judah, whom Nebuchadnezzar the king of Babylon had carried away.

Ele criou Hadassa, isto é, Ester, filha de seu tio; pois ela não tinha pai nem mãe. A jovem era de bela aparência e formosa; e quando seu pai e sua mãe morreram, Mardoqueu a tomou como sua própria filha.

And he brought up Hadassah, that is, Esther, his uncle’s daughter: for she had neither father nor mother, and the maid was fair and beautiful; whom Mordecai, when her father and mother were dead, took for his own daughter.

Assim, quando o mandamento do rei e o seu decreto foram ouvidos, e quando muitas jovens foram reunidas na cidadela de Susã, sob a custódia de Hegai, Ester foi levada para a casa do rei, sob a custódia de Hegai, guarda das mulheres.

Sucedió pues, que como se divulgó el mandamiento del rey y su acuerdo, y siendo reunidas muchas mozas en Susán residencia regia, á cargo de Hegai, fué tomada también Esther para casa del rey, al cuidado de Hegai, guarda de las mujeres.

So it came to pass, when the king’s commandment and his decree was heard, and when many maidens were gathered together unto Shushan the palace, to the custody of Hegai, that Esther was brought also unto the king’s house, to the custody of Hegai, keeper of the women.

A jovem lhe agradou, e obteve o seu favor. Ele rapidamente lhe deu cosméticos e suas porções de comida, e as sete jovens escolhidas que lhe deviam ser dadas da casa do rei. Ele a transferiu, junto com suas jovens, para o melhor lugar na casa das mulheres.

Y la moza agradó en sus ojos, y halló gracia delante de él; por lo que hizo darle prestamente sus atavíos y sus raciones, dándole también siete convenientes doncellas de la casa del rey; y pasóla con sus doncellas á lo mejor de la casa de las mujeres.

And the maiden pleased him, and she obtained kindness of him; and he speedily gave her her things for purification, with such things as belonged to her, and seven maidens, which were meet to be given her, out of the king’s house: and he preferred her and her maids unto the best place of the house of the women.

The maiden pleased him, and she obtained kindness from him. He quickly gave her cosmetics and her portions of food, and the seven choice maidens who were to be given her out of the king’s house. He moved her and her maidens to the best place in the women’s house.

Ester não havia revelado o seu povo nem a sua parentela, porque Mardoqueu a havia instruído para que não o revelasse.

Esther no declaró su pueblo ni su nacimiento; porque Mardochêo le había mandado que no lo declarase.

Esther had not shewed her people nor her kindred: for Mordecai had charged her that she should not shew it.

Mardoqueu caminhava todos os dias em frente ao pátio da casa das mulheres, para saber como Ester estava e o que seria dela.

Y cada día Mardochêo se paseaba delante del patio de la casa de las mujeres, por saber cómo iba á Esther, y qué se hacía de ella.

And Mordecai walked every day before the court of the women’s house, to know how Esther did, and what should become of her.

Chegava a vez de cada jovem ir ao rei Assuero após a sua purificação de doze meses (pois assim se cumpriam os dias da purificação delas: seis meses com óleo de mirra, e seis meses com perfumes e com preparações para o embelezamento das mulheres).

Y como llegaba el tiempo de cada una de las mozas para venir al rey Assuero, al cabo de haber estado ya doce meses conforme á la ley acerca de las mujeres (porque así se cumplía el tiempo de sus atavíos, esto es, seis meses con óleo de mirra, y seis meses con cosas aromáticas y afeites de mujeres),

Now when every maid’s turn was come to go in to king Ahasuerus, after that she had been twelve months, according to the manner of the women, (for so were the days of their purifications accomplished, to wit, six months with oil of myrrh, and six months with sweet odours, and with other things for the purifying of the women;)

Each young woman’s turn came to go in to King Ahasuerus after her purification for twelve months (for so were the days of their purification accomplished, six months with oil of myrrh, and six months with sweet fragrances and with preparations for beautifying women).

A jovem então ia ao rei desta maneira: tudo o que ela desejava lhe era dado para ir com ela da casa das mulheres para a casa do rei.

Entonces la moza venía así al rey: todo lo que ella decía se le daba, para venir con ello de la casa de las mujeres hasta la casa del rey.

Then thus came every maiden unto the king; whatsoever she desired was given her to go with her out of the house of the women unto the king’s house.

The young woman then came to the king like this: whatever she desired was given her to go with her out of the women’s house to the king’s house.

À tarde ela ia, e no dia seguinte retornava para a segunda casa das mulheres, sob a custódia de Saasgaz, o eunuco do rei, que guardava as concubinas. Ela não ia mais ao rei, a menos que o rei se agradasse dela e ela fosse chamada pelo nome.

Ella venía á la tarde, y á la mañana se volvía á la casa segunda de las mujeres, al cargo de Saasgaz eunuco del rey, guarda de las concubinas: no venía más al rey, salvo si el rey la quería, y era llamada por nombre.

In the evening she went, and on the morrow she returned into the second house of the women, to the custody of Shaashgaz, the king’s chamberlain, which kept the concubines: she came in unto the king no more, except the king delighted in her, and that she were called by name.

Ora, quando chegou a vez de Ester, filha de Abiail, tio de Mardoqueu, que a havia tomado por filha, de ir ao rei, ela não pediu nada além do que Hegai, o eunuco do rei, o guarda das mulheres, aconselhou. Ester obteve favor aos olhos de todos os que olhavam para ela.

Y llegado que fué el tiempo de Esther, hija de Abihail tío de Mardochêo, que él se había tomado por hija, para venir al rey, ninguna cosa procuró sino lo que dijo Hegai eunuco del rey, guarda de las mujeres: y ganaba Esther la gracia de todos los que la veían.

Now when the turn of Esther, the daughter of Abihail the uncle of Mordecai, who had taken her for his daughter, was come to go in unto the king, she required nothing but what Hegai the king’s chamberlain, the keeper of the women, appointed. And Esther obtained favour in the sight of all them that looked upon her.

Assim, Ester foi levada ao rei Assuero, à sua casa real, no décimo mês, que é o mês de tebete, no sétimo ano do seu reinado.

So Esther was taken unto king Ahasuerus into his house royal in the tenth month, which is the month Tebeth, in the seventh year of his reign.

O rei amou Ester mais do que a todas as mulheres, e ela obteve favor e bondade diante dele mais do que todas as virgens; de modo que ele colocou a coroa real na cabeça dela e a fez rainha em lugar de Vasti.

Y el rey amó á Esther sobre todas las mujeres, y halló gracia y benevolencia delante de él más que todas las vírgenes; y puso la corona real en su cabeza, é hízola reina en lugar de Vasthi.

And the king loved Esther above all the women, and she obtained grace and favour in his sight more than all the virgins; so that he set the royal crown upon her head, and made her queen instead of Vashti.

Then the king made a great feast unto all his princes and his servants, even Esther’s feast; and he made a release to the provinces, and gave gifts, according to the state of the king.

Quando as virgens foram reunidas pela segunda vez, Mardoqueu estava sentado à porta do rei.

And when the virgins were gathered together the second time, then Mordecai sat in the king’s gate.

Ester ainda não havia revelado a sua parentela nem o seu povo, como Mardoqueu lhe havia ordenado; pois Ester obedecia a Mardoqueu, como fazia quando era criada por ele.

Esther had not yet shewed her kindred nor her people; as Mordecai had charged her: for Esther did the commandment of Mordecai, like as when she was brought up with him.

Naqueles dias, enquanto Mardoqueu estava sentado à porta do rei, dois dos eunucos do rei, Bigtã e Teres, que eram guardas da porta, ficaram irados e procuraram pôr as mãos no rei Assuero.

En aquellos días, estando Mardochêo sentado á la puerta del rey, enojáronse Bigthán y Teres, dos eunucos del rey, de la guardia de la puerta, y procuraban poner mano en el rey Assuero.

In those days, while Mordecai sat in the king’s gate, two of the king’s chamberlains, Bigthan and Teresh, of those which kept the door, were wroth, and sought to lay hand on the king Ahasuerus.

Isso chegou ao conhecimento de Mardoqueu, que informou a rainha Ester; e Ester informou o rei em nome de Mardoqueu.

Mas entendido que fué esto por Mardochêo, él lo denunció á la reina Esther, y Esther lo dijo al rey en nombre de Mardochêo.

And the thing was known to Mordecai, who told it unto Esther the queen; and Esther certified the king thereof in Mordecai’s name.

This thing became known to Mordecai, who informed Esther the queen; and Esther informed the king in Mordecai’s name.

Quando este assunto foi investigado e se descobriu ser verdade, ambos foram pendurados numa forca; e isso foi escrito no livro das crônicas na presença do rei.

Hízose entonces indagación de la cosa, y fué hallada cierta; por tanto, entrambos fueron colgados en una horca. Y escribióse el caso en el libro de las cosas de los tiempos delante del rey.

And when inquisition was made of the matter, it was found out; therefore they were both hanged on a tree: and it was written in the book of the chronicles before the king.

When this matter was investigated, and it was found to be so, they were both hanged on a gallows; and it was written in the book of the chronicles in the king’s presence.
