E Mamuchan alla presenza del re, e dei principi rispose: La regina Vasthi ha offeso non solo il re, ma anche tutti i popoli, e i signori, che sono in tutte le Provincie del re Assuero.

E su questo esempio tutte le mogli dei principi Persiani, e Medi non faran conto degli ordini de' mariti: per la qual cosa giusto è lo sdegno del re.
Y entonces dirán esto las señoras de Persia y de Media que oyeren el hecho de la reina, á todos los príncipes del rey: y habrá mucho menosprecio y enojo.
Likewise shall the ladies of Persia and Media say this day unto all the king’s princes, which have heard of the deed of the queen. Thus shall there arise too much contempt and wrath.

Se così a te piace, sia pubblicato da te un editto, e sia scritto secondo la legge de' Persiani, e de' Medi (la quale non è lecito, che sia trasgredita), che la regina Vasthi non comparisca mai più dinanzi al re, ma il suo diadema lo abbia un'altra migliore di lei.
Si parece bien al rey, salga mandamiento real delante de él, y escríbase entre las leyes de Persia y de Media, y no sea traspasado: Que no venga más Vasthi delante del rey Assuero: y dé el rey su reino á su compañera que sea mejor que ella.

E questo si notifichi in tutte le Provincie del tuo impero quanto egli è vasto, e tutte le mogli e de' grandi, ed e' piccoli onoreranno i loro mariti.

Mardocheo stando alla porta del palazzo scuopre gli eunuchi, che tendevano insidie al re; il qual fatto di Mardocheo si registra negli annali.
