Efesios 5

Imitad entonces a Dios, pues que sois sus, hijos amados;

SED, pues, imitadores de Dios como hijos amados:

Be ye therefore followers of God, as dear children;

Be therefore imitators of God, as beloved children.

y vivid en amor así como Cristo os amó, y se entregó por nosotros como oblación y víctima a Dios cual (incienso de) olor suavísimo.

Y andad en amor, como también Cristo nos amó, y se entregó á sí mismo por nosotros, ofrenda y sacrificio á Dios en olor suave.

And walk in love, as Christ also hath loved us, and hath given himself for us an offering and a sacrifice to God for a sweetsmelling savour.

Walk in love, even as Christ also loved us and gave himself up for us, an offering and a sacrifice to God for a sweet-smelling fragrance.

Fornicación y cualquier impureza o avaricia, ni siquiera se nombre entre vosotros, como conviene a santos;

Pero fornicación y toda inmundicia, ó avaricia, ni aun se nombre entre vosotros, como conviene á santos;

But fornication, and all uncleanness, or covetousness, let it not be once named among you, as becometh saints;

But sexual immorality, and all uncleanness or covetousness, let it not even be mentioned among you, as becomes saints;

ni torpeza, ni vana palabrería, ni bufonerías, cosas que no convienen, antes bien acciones de gracia.

Ni palabras torpes, ni necedades, ni truhanerías, que no convienen; sino antes bien acciones de gracias.

Neither filthiness, nor foolish talking, nor jesting, which are not convenient: but rather giving of thanks.

Porque tened bien entendido que ningún fornicario, impuro o avaro, que es lo mismo que idólatra, tiene parte en el reino de Cristo y de Dios.

Porque sabéis esto, que ningún fornicario, ó inmundo, ó avaro, que es servidor de ídolos, tiene herencia en el reino de Cristo y de Dios.

For this ye know, that no whoremonger, nor unclean person, nor covetous man, who is an idolater, hath any inheritance in the kingdom of Christ and of God.

Know this for sure, that no sexually immoral person, nor unclean person, nor covetous man (who is an idolater), has any inheritance in the Kingdom of Christ and God.

Nadie os engañe con vanas palabras, pues por estas cosas descarga la ira de Dios sobre los hijos de la desobediencia.

Nadie os engañe con palabras vanas; porque por estas cosas viene la ira de Dios sobre los hijos de desobediencia.

Let no man deceive you with vain words: for because of these things cometh the wrath of God upon the children of disobedience.

Let no one deceive you with empty words, for because of these things the wrath of God comes on the children of disobedience.

No os hagáis, pues, copartícipes de ellos.

No seáis pues aparceros con ellos;

Be not ye therefore partakers with them.

Therefore don’t be partakers with them.

Porque antes erais tinieblas, ahora sois luz en el Señor. Andad, pues, como hijos de la luz —

Porque en otro tiempo erais tinieblas; mas ahora sois luz en el Señor: andad como hijos de luz,

For ye were sometimes darkness, but now are ye light in the Lord: walk as children of light:

For you were once darkness, but are now light in the Lord. Walk as children of light,

el fruto de la luz consiste en toda bondad y justicia y verdad—

(Porque el fruto del Espíritu es en toda bondad, y justicia, y verdad;)

(For the fruit of the Spirit is in all goodness and righteousness and truth;)

for the fruit of the Spirit is in all goodness and righteousness and truth,

aprendiendo por experiencia que es lo que agrada al Señor;

Aprobando lo que es agradable al Señor.

Proving what is acceptable unto the Lord.

proving what is well pleasing to the Lord.

y no toméis parte con ellos en las obras infructuosas de las tinieblas, antes bien manifestad abiertamente vuestra reprobación;

Y no comuniquéis con las obras infructuosas de las tinieblas; sino antes bien redargüidlas.

And have no fellowship with the unfruitful works of darkness, but rather reprove them.

Have no fellowship with the unfruitful deeds of darkness, but rather even reprove them.

porque si bien da vergüenza hasta el nombrar las cosas que ellos hacen en secreto,

Porque torpe cosa es aun hablar de lo que ellos hacen en oculto.

For it is a shame even to speak of those things which are done of them in secret.

sin embargo todas las cosas, una vez condenadas, son descubiertas por la luz, y todo lo que es manifiesto es luz.

Mas todas las cosas cuando son redargüidas, son manifestadas por la luz; porque lo que manifiesta todo, la luz es.

But all things that are reproved are made manifest by the light: for whatsoever doth make manifest is light.

But all things, when they are reproved, are revealed by the light, for everything that reveals is light.

Por eso dice: “Despierta tú que duermes, y levántate de entre los muertos, y Cristo te iluminará”.

Por lo cual dice: Despiértate, tú que duermes, y levántate de los muertos, y te alumbrará Cristo.

Wherefore he saith, Awake thou that sleepest, and arise from the dead, and Christ shall give thee light.

Therefore he says, “Awake, you who sleep, and arise from the dead, and Christ will shine on you.”

Mirad, pues, con gran cautela cómo andáis; no como necios, sino como sabios,

Mirad, pues, cómo andéis avisadamente; no como necios, mas como sabios;

See then that ye walk circumspectly, not as fools, but as wise,

Therefore watch carefully how you walk, not as unwise, but as wise,

aprovechando bien el tiempo, porque los días son malos.

Redimiendo el tiempo, porque los días son malos.

Redeeming the time, because the days are evil.

Por lo tanto, no os hagáis los desentendidos, sino entended cuál sea la voluntad del Señor.

Por tanto, no seáis imprudentes, sino entendidos de cuál sea la voluntad del Señor.

Wherefore be ye not unwise, but understanding what the will of the Lord is.

Therefore, don’t be foolish, but understand what the will of the Lord is.

Y no os embriaguéis con vino, en el cual hay lujuria, sino llenaos en el Espíritu,

Y no os embriaguéis de vino, en lo cual hay disolución; mas sed llenos de Espíritu;

And be not drunk with wine, wherein is excess; but be filled with the Spirit;

Don’t be drunken with wine, in which is dissipation, but be filled with the Spirit,

entreteniéndoos entre vosotros con salmos, himnos y cánticos espirituales, cantando y alabando de todo corazón al Señor,

Hablando entre vosotros con salmos, y con himnos, y canciones espirituales, cantando y alabando al Señor en vuestros corazones;

Speaking to yourselves in psalms and hymns and spiritual songs, singing and making melody in your heart to the Lord;

speaking to one another in psalms, hymns, and spiritual songs; singing and making melody in your heart to the Lord;

dando gracias siempre y por todo al Dios y Padre en el nombre de nuestro Señor Jesucristo,

Dando gracias siempre de todo al Dios y Padre en el nombre de nuestro Señor Jesucristo:

Giving thanks always for all things unto God and the Father in the name of our Lord Jesus Christ;

giving thanks always concerning all things in the name of our Lord Jesus Christ to God, even the Father;

sujetándoos los unos a los otros en el santo temor de Cristo.

Sujetados los unos á los otros en el temor de Dios.

Submitting yourselves one to another in the fear of God.

subjecting yourselves to one another in the fear of Christ.

Las mujeres sujétense a sus maridos como al Señor,

Las casadas estén sujetas á sus propios maridos, como al Señor.

Wives, submit yourselves unto your own husbands, as unto the Lord.

Wives, be subject to your own husbands, as to the Lord.

porque el varón es cabeza de la mujer, como Cristo cabeza de la Iglesia, salvador de su cuerpo.

Porque el marido es cabeza de la mujer, así como Cristo es cabeza de la iglesia; y él es el que da la salud al cuerpo.

For the husband is the head of the wife, even as Christ is the head of the church: and he is the saviour of the body.

For the husband is the head of the wife, as Christ also is the head of the assembly, being himself the savior of the body.

Así como la Iglesia está sujeta a Cristo, así también las mujeres lo han de estar a sus maridos en todo.

Así que, como la iglesia está sujeta á Cristo, así también las casadas lo estén á sus maridos en todo.

Therefore as the church is subject unto Christ, so let the wives be to their own husbands in every thing.

But as the assembly is subject to Christ, so let the wives also be to their own husbands in everything.

Maridos, amad a vuestras mujeres, como Cristo amó a la Iglesia y se entregó Él mismo por ella,

Maridos, amad á vuestras mujeres, así como Cristo amó á la iglesia, y se entregó á sí mismo por ella,

Husbands, love your wives, even as Christ also loved the church, and gave himself for it;

Husbands, love your wives, even as Christ also loved the assembly and gave himself up for her,

para santificarla, purificándola con la palabra en el baño del agua,

Para santificarla limpiándola en el lavacro del agua por la palabra,

That he might sanctify and cleanse it with the washing of water by the word,

that he might sanctify her, having cleansed her by the washing of water with the word,

a fin de presentarla delante de Sí mismo como Iglesia gloriosa, sin mancha, ni arruga, ni nada semejante, sino santa e inmaculada.

Para presentársela gloriosa para sí, una iglesia que no tuviese mancha ni arruga, ni cosa semejante; sino que fuese santa y sin mancha.

That he might present it to himself a glorious church, not having spot, or wrinkle, or any such thing; but that it should be holy and without blemish.

that he might present the assembly to himself gloriously, not having spot or wrinkle or any such thing, but that she should be holy and without defect.

Así también los varones deben amar a sus mujeres como a su propio cuerpo. El que ama a su mujer, a sí mismo se ama.

Así también los maridos deben amar á sus mujeres como á sus mismos cuerpos. El que ama á su mujer, á sí mismo se ama.

So ought men to love their wives as their own bodies. He that loveth his wife loveth himself.

Even so husbands also ought to love their own wives as their own bodies. He who loves his own wife loves himself.

Porque nadie jamás tuvo odio a su propia carne, sino que la sustenta y regala, como también Cristo a la Iglesia,

Porque ninguno aborreció jamás á su propia carne, antes la sustenta y regala, como también Cristo á la iglesia;

For no man ever yet hated his own flesh; but nourisheth and cherisheth it, even as the Lord the church:

For no man ever hated his own flesh, but nourishes and cherishes it, even as the Lord also does the assembly,

puesto que somos miembros de su cuerpo.

Porque somos miembros de su cuerpo, de su carne y de sus huesos.

For we are members of his body, of his flesh, and of his bones.

“A causa de esto dejará el hombre a su padre y a su madre, y se adherirá a su mujer, y los dos serán una carne”.

Por esto dejará el hombre á su padre y á su madre, y se allegará á su mujer, y serán dos en una carne.

For this cause shall a man leave his father and mother, and shall be joined unto his wife, and they two shall be one flesh.

“For this cause a man will leave his father and mother and will be joined to his wife. Then the two will become one flesh.”

Este misterio es grande; mas yo lo digo en orden a Cristo y a la Iglesia.

Este misterio grande es: mas yo digo esto con respecto á Cristo y á la iglesia.

This is a great mystery: but I speak concerning Christ and the church.

This mystery is great, but I speak concerning Christ and the assembly.

Con todo, también cada uno de vosotros ame a su mujer como a sí mismo; y la mujer a su vez reverencie al marido.

Cada uno empero de vosotros de por sí, ame también á su mujer como á sí mismo; y la mujer reverencie á su marido.

Nevertheless let every one of you in particular so love his wife even as himself; and the wife see that she reverence her husband.

Nevertheless each of you must also love his own wife even as himself; and let the wife see that she respects her husband.
