Goditi adunque, o giovine, di tua fresca età, e sia lieto il tuo cuore ne giorni di tua giovinezza, e segui le inclinazioni del tuo cuore, e quel che piace a' tuoi occhi; ma sappi, che per tutte queste cose ti chiamerà Dio mi discaccia dal tuo cuore l'ira e il male tien lungi dalla tua carne; perocché e la gioventù, e i piaceri sono vanità. Temere Dio in ogni tempo, e particolarmente nella gioventù, prima che venga la vecchiezza, e la morte. Tener viva la memoria di Dio Creatore, giudice, e osservare i suoi comandamenti.
Alégrate, mancebo, en tu mocedad, y tome placer tu corazón en los días de tu juventud; y anda en los caminos de tu corazón, y en la vista de tus ojos: mas sabe, que sobre todas estas cosas te traerá Dios á juicio.
Rejoice, O young man, in thy youth; and let thy heart cheer thee in the days of thy youth, and walk in the ways of thine heart, and in the sight of thine eyes: but know thou, that for all these things God will bring thee into judgment.
