Deuteronomio 9

E stetti prostrato per terra dinanzi al Signore per quaranta dì, e quaranta notti, scongiurandolo umilmente, che non vi sterminasse, come avea minacciato.

Postréme, pues, delante de Jehová cuarenta días y cuarenta noches que estuve postrado; porque Jehová dijo que os había de destruir.

Thus I fell down before the LORD forty days and forty nights, as I fell down at the first; because the LORD had said he would destroy you.
