Deuteronomio 8

Who hath fed thee in the wilderness with manna, which thy fathers knew not; in order to afflict thee, and in order to prove thee, to do thee good at thy latter end;

Que te sustentó con maná en el desierto, comida que tus padres no habían conocido, afligiéndote y probándote, para á la postre hacerte bien;
