1WENN der Herr, dein Gott, dich in das Land bringt, dahin du nun ziehst, es zu besetzen, und viele Völker vor dir her vertreibt, die Hethiter, Girgasiter, Amoriter, Kanaaniter, Pheresiter, Hewiter und Jebusiter, sieben Völker, die grösser und stärker sind als du,
2und sie der Herr, dein Gott, in deine Hand gibt und du sie schlägst, so sollst du an ihnen den Bann vollstrecken: du sollst keinen Vertrag mit ihnen schliessen und sie nicht verschonen; (a) 4Mo 21:2; 5Mo 20:17; Jos 11:11
3und du sollst dich mit ihnen nicht verschwägern, nicht deine Töchter ihren Söhnen geben, noch ihre Töchter für deine Söhne nehmen. (a) 2Mo 34:15 16
4Denn sie werden deine Söhne dem Herrn abwendig machen, dass sie andern Göttern dienen. Dann wird der Zorn des Herrn wider euch entbrennen, und er wird dich bald vertilgen.
5Vielmehr so sollt ihr mit ihnen verfahren: ihre Altäre sollt ihr niederreissen, ihre Malsteine zerschlagen, ihre Ascheren umhauen und ihre Götzenbilder verbrennen. (a) 2Mo 23:24; 4Mo 33:52; 5Mo 12:3
6Denn du bist ein dem Herrn, deinem Gott, geweihtes Volk; dich hat der Herr, dein Gott, aus allen Völkern, die auf Erden sind, für sich erwählt, dass du sein eigen seiest. (a) 2Mo 19:5 6; 5Mo 14:2
7Nicht weil ihr zahlreicher wäret als alle Völker, hat der Herr sein Herz euch zugewandt und euch erwählt - denn ihr seid das kleinste unter allen Völkern -,
8sondern weil der Herr euch liebte und weil er den Eid hielt, den er euren Vätern geschworen, darum hat euch der Herr mit starker Hand herausgeführt und hat dich aus dem Sklavenhause befreit, aus der Hand des Pharao, des Königs von Ägypten.
9So sollst du denn erkennen, dass der Herr, dein Gott, der (wahre) Gott ist, der getreue Gott, der den Bund hält und die Huld bewahrt denen, die ihn lieben und seine Gebote halten, bis ins tausendste Geschlecht, (a) 2Mo 20:6
10dem aber, der ihn hasst, ins Angesicht vergilt, indem er ihn verderbt; er gibt dem, der ihn hasst, nicht Aufschub, ins Angesicht vergilt er ihm. (a) Na 1:2
11Darum halte das Gesetz, die Satzungen und Rechte, die ich dir heute gebe, dass du darnach tuest.
12UND dafür, dass ihr diese Rechte anhört, sie haltet und darnach tut, wird der Herr, dein Gott, den Bund halten und die Huld bewahren, die er deinen Vätern zugeschworen hat,
13und er wird dich lieben und dich segnen und mehren; er wird segnen die Frucht deines Leibes und die Frucht deines Landes, dein Korn, deinen Wein und dein Öl, den Wurf deiner Kühe und die Zucht deiner Schafe, in dem Lande, von dem er deinen Vätern geschworen hat, dass er es dir geben wolle.
14Gesegnet wirst du sein vor allen Völkern. Niemand unter euch, weder Mann noch Weib, wird unfruchtbar sein; auch euer Vieh nicht. (a) 2Mo 23:26
15Der Herr wird alle Krankheit von dir nehmen und keine von den bösen Seuchen der Ägypter, die du kennst, dir auflegen, sondern wird sie über alle bringen, die dich hassen. (a) 2Mo 23:25
16Du wirst alle Völker vertilgen, die der Herr, dein Gott, dir preisgibt. Du sollst ihrer nicht schonen und sollst ihren Göttern nicht dienen; denn das würde dir ein Fallstrick sein.
17Wenn du bei dir selber sprechen solltest: "Diese Völker sind grösser als ich; wie kann ich sie vertreiben?"
18so fürchte dich nicht vor ihnen; gedenke dessen, was der Herr, dein Gott, dem Pharao und ganz Ägypten angetan,
19der grossen Prüfungen, die du mit eignen Augen gesehen hast, der Zeichen und Wunder, der starken Hand und des ausgereckten Arms, womit dich der Herr, dein Gott, herausgeführt hat. So wird der Herr, dein Gott, allen Völkern tun, vor denen du dich fürchtest. (a) 5Mo 4:34; 29:3
20Auch die Hornissen wird der Herr, dein Gott, auf sie loslassen, bis die vernichtet sind, die übriggeblieben und die sich vor dir versteckt halten. (a) 2Mo 23:28; Jos 24:12
21Lass dir nicht grauen vor ihnen; denn der Herr, dein Gott, ist in deiner Mitte, ein grosser und furchtbarer Gott.
22Und der Herr, dein Gott, wird diese Völker nach und nach vor dir vertreiben. Du kannst sie nicht schnell aufreiben, sonst möchten der wilden Tiere dir zu viele werden. (a) 2Mo 23:29
23Der Herr, dein Gott, wird sie dir preisgeben und ihnen einen grossen Schrecken einjagen, bis sie vernichtet sind.
24Und er wird ihre Könige in deine Hand geben, und du wirst ihren Namen unter dem Himmel austilgen. Niemand wird dir widerstehen können, bis du sie vernichtet hast.
25Die Bilder ihrer Götter sollt ihr verbrennen: du sollst nicht nach dem Silber und dem Gold, das daran ist, verlangen und es an dich nehmen, auf dass es nicht zum Fallstrick für dich werde; denn solches ist dem Herrn, deinem Gott, ein Greuel,
26und einen Greuel sollst du nicht in dein Haus bringen, dass du nicht gleich ihm dem Bann verfallest. Ekel und Abscheu sollst du davor haben; denn es ist dem Bann verfallen. (a) Jos 7:1 11

1CUANDO Jehová tu Dios te hubiere introducido en la tierra en la cual tú has de entrar para poseerla, y hubiere echado de delante de ti muchas gentes, al Hetheo, al Gergeseo, y al Amorrheo, y al Cananeo, y al Pherezeo, y al Heveo, y al Jebuseo, siete naciones mayores y más fuertes que tú;
2Y Jehová tu Dios las hubiere entregado delante de ti, y las hirieres, del todo las destruirás: no harás con ellos alianza, ni las tomarás á merced.
3Y no emparentarás con ellos: no darás tu hija á su hijo, ni tomarás á su hija para tu hijo.
4Porque desviará á tu hijo de en pos de mí, y servirán á dioses ajenos; y el furor de Jehová se encenderá sobre vosotros, y te destruirá presto.
5Mas así habéis de hacer con ellos: sus altares destruiréis, y quebraréis sus estatuas, y cortaréis sus bosques, y quemaréis sus esculturas en el fuego.
6Porque tú eres pueblo santo á Jehová tu Dios: Jehová tu Dios te ha escogido para serle un pueblo especial, más que todos los pueblos que están sobre la haz de la tierra.
7No por ser vosotros más que todos los pueblos os ha querido Jehová, y os ha escogido; porque vosotros erais los más pocos de todos los pueblos:
8Sino porque Jehová os amó, y quiso guardar el juramento que juró á vuestros padres, os ha sacado Jehová con mano fuerte, y os ha rescatado de casa de siervos, de la mano de Faraón, rey de Egipto.
9Conoce, pues, que Jehová tu Dios es Dios, Dios fiel, que guarda el pacto y la misericordia á los que le aman y guardan sus mandamientos, hasta las mil generaciones;
10Y que da el pago en su cara al que le aborrece, destruyéndolo: ni lo dilatará al que le odia, en su cara le dará el pago.
11Guarda por tanto los mandamientos, y estatutos, y derechos que yo te mando hoy que cumplas.
12Y será que, por haber oído estos derechos, y guardado y puéstolos por obra, Jehová tu Dios guardará contigo el pacto y la misericordia que juró á tus padres;
13Y te amará, y te bendecirá, y te multiplicará, y bendecirá el fruto de tu vientre, y el fruto de tu tierra, y tu grano, y tu mosto, y tu aceite, la cría de tus vacas, y los rebaños de tus ovejas, en la tierra que juró á tus padres que te daría.
14Bendito serás más que todos los pueblos: no habrá en ti varón ni hembra estéril, ni en tus bestias.
15Y quitará Jehová de ti toda enfermedad; y todas las malas plagas de Egipto, que tú sabes, no las pondrá sobre ti, antes las pondrá sobre todos los que te aborrecieren.
16Y consumirás á todos los pueblos que te da Jehová tu Dios: no los perdonará tu ojo; ni servirás á sus dioses, que te será tropiezo.
17Cuando dijeres en tu corazón: Estas gentes son muchas más que yo, ¿cómo las podré desarraigar?;
18No tengas temor de ellos: acuérdate bien de lo que hizo Jehová tu Dios con Faraón y con todo Egipto;
19De las grandes pruebas que vieron tus ojos, y de las señales y milagros, y de la mano fuerte y brazo extendido con que Jehová tu Dios te sacó: así hará Jehová tu Dios con todos los pueblos de cuya presencia tú temieres.
20Y también enviará Jehová tu Dios sobre ellos avispas, hasta que perezcan los que quedaren, y los que se hubieren escondido de delante de ti.
21No desmayes delante de ellos, que Jehová tu Dios está en medio de ti, Dios grande y terrible.
22Y Jehová tu Dios echará á estas gentes de delante de ti poco á poco: no las podrás acabar luego, porque las bestias del campo no se aumenten contra ti.
23Mas Jehová tu Dios las entregará delante de ti, y él las quebrantará con grande destrozo, hasta que sean destruídos.
24Y él entregará sus reyes en tu mano, y tú destruirás el nombre de ellos de debajo del cielo: nadie te hará frente hasta que los destruyas.
25Las esculturas de sus dioses quemarás en el fuego: no codiciarás plata ni oro de sobre ellas para tomarlo para ti, porque no tropieces en ello, pues es abominación á Jehová tu Dios;
26Y no meterás abominación en tu casa, porque no seas anatema como ello; del todo lo aborrecerás y lo abominarás; porque es anatema.

1When the LORD thy God shall bring thee into the land whither thou goest to possess it, and hath cast out many nations before thee, the Hittites, and the Girgashites, and the Amorites, and the Canaanites, and the Perizzites, and the Hivites, and the Jebusites, seven nations greater and mightier than thou;
2And when the LORD thy God shall deliver them before thee; thou shalt smite them, and utterly destroy them; thou shalt make no covenant with them, nor shew mercy unto them:
3Neither shalt thou make marriages with them; thy daughter thou shalt not give unto his son, nor his daughter shalt thou take unto thy son.
4For they will turn away thy son from following me, that they may serve other gods: so will the anger of the LORD be kindled against you, and destroy thee suddenly.
5But thus shall ye deal with them; ye shall destroy their altars, and break down their images, and cut down their groves, and burn their graven images with fire.
6For thou art an holy people unto the LORD thy God: the LORD thy God hath chosen thee to be a special people unto himself, above all people that are upon the face of the earth.
7The LORD did not set his love upon you, nor choose you, because ye were more in number than any people; for ye were the fewest of all people:
8But because the LORD loved you, and because he would keep the oath which he had sworn unto your fathers, hath the LORD brought you out with a mighty hand, and redeemed you out of the house of bondmen, from the hand of Pharaoh king of Egypt.
9Know therefore that the LORD thy God, he is God, the faithful God, which keepeth covenant and mercy with them that love him and keep his commandments to a thousand generations;
10And repayeth them that hate him to their face, to destroy them: he will not be slack to him that hateth him, he will repay him to his face.
11Thou shalt therefore keep the commandments, and the statutes, and the judgments, which I command thee this day, to do them.
12Wherefore it shall come to pass, if ye hearken to these judgments, and keep, and do them, that the LORD thy God shall keep unto thee the covenant and the mercy which he sware unto thy fathers:
13And he will love thee, and bless thee, and multiply thee: he will also bless the fruit of thy womb, and the fruit of thy land, thy corn, and thy wine, and thine oil, the increase of thy kine, and the flocks of thy sheep, in the land which he sware unto thy fathers to give thee.
14Thou shalt be blessed above all people: there shall not be male or female barren among you, or among your cattle.
15And the LORD will take away from thee all sickness, and will put none of the evil diseases of Egypt, which thou knowest, upon thee; but will lay them upon all them that hate thee.
16And thou shalt consume all the people which the LORD thy God shall deliver thee; thine eye shall have no pity upon them: neither shalt thou serve their gods; for that will be a snare unto thee.
17If thou shalt say in thine heart, These nations are more than I; how can I dispossess them?
18Thou shalt not be afraid of them: but shalt well remember what the LORD thy God did unto Pharaoh, and unto all Egypt;
19The great temptations which thine eyes saw, and the signs, and the wonders, and the mighty hand, and the stretched out arm, whereby the LORD thy God brought thee out: so shall the LORD thy God do unto all the people of whom thou art afraid.
20Moreover the LORD thy God will send the hornet among them, until they that are left, and hide themselves from thee, be destroyed.
21Thou shalt not be affrighted at them: for the LORD thy God is among you, a mighty God and terrible.
22And the LORD thy God will put out those nations before thee by little and little: thou mayest not consume them at once, lest the beasts of the field increase upon thee.
23But the LORD thy God shall deliver them unto thee, and shall destroy them with a mighty destruction, until they be destroyed.
24And he shall deliver their kings into thine hand, and thou shalt destroy their name from under heaven: there shall no man be able to stand before thee, until thou have destroyed them.
25The graven images of their gods shall ye burn with fire: thou shalt not desire the silver or gold that is on them, nor take it unto thee, lest thou be snared therein: for it is an abomination to the LORD thy God.
26Neither shalt thou bring an abomination into thine house, lest thou be a cursed thing like it: but thou shalt utterly detest it, and thou shalt utterly abhor it; for it is a cursed thing.

1When the LORD your God brings you into the land where you go to possess it, and casts out many nations before you—the Hittite, the Girgashite, the Amorite, the Canaanite, the Perizzite, the Hivite, and the Jebusite—seven nations greater and mightier than you;
2and when the LORD your God delivers them up before you, and you strike them, then you shall utterly destroy them. You shall make no covenant with them, nor show mercy to them.
3You shall not make marriages with them. You shall not give your daughter to his son, nor shall you take his daughter for your son.
4For that would turn away your sons from following me, that they may serve other gods. So the LORD’s anger would be kindled against you, and he would destroy you quickly.
5But you shall deal with them like this: you shall break down their altars, dash their pillars in pieces, cut down their Asherah poles, and burn their engraved images with fire.
6For you are a holy people to the LORD your God. The LORD your God has chosen you to be a people for his own possession, above all peoples who are on the face of the earth.
7The LORD didn’t set his love on you nor choose you, because you were more in number than any people; for you were the fewest of all peoples;
8but because the LORD loves you, and because he desires to keep the oath which he swore to your fathers, the LORD has brought you out with a mighty hand and redeemed you out of the house of bondage, from the hand of Pharaoh king of Egypt.

13He will love you, bless you, and multiply you. He will also bless the fruit of your body and the fruit of your ground, your grain and your new wine and your oil, the increase of your livestock and the young of your flock, in the land which he swore to your fathers to give you.
14You will be blessed above all peoples. There won’t be male or female barren among you, or among your livestock.
15The LORD will take away from you all sickness; and he will put none of the evil diseases of Egypt, which you know, on you, but will lay them on all those who hate you.
16You shall consume all the peoples whom the LORD your God shall deliver to you. Your eye shall not pity them. You shall not serve their gods; for that would be a snare to you.
17If you shall say in your heart, “These nations are more than I; how can I dispossess them?”
18you shall not be afraid of them. You shall remember well what the LORD your God did to Pharaoh and to all Egypt:
19the great trials which your eyes saw, the signs, the wonders, the mighty hand, and the outstretched arm, by which the LORD your God brought you out. So shall the LORD your God do to all the peoples of whom you are afraid.
20Moreover the LORD your God will send the hornet among them, until those who are left, and hide themselves, perish from before you.
21You shall not be scared of them; for the LORD your God is among you, a great and awesome God.
22The LORD your God will cast out those nations before you little by little. You may not consume them at once, lest the animals of the field increase on you.
23But the LORD your God will deliver them up before you, and will confuse them with a great confusion, until they are destroyed.
24He will deliver their kings into your hand, and you shall make their name perish from under the sky. No one will be able to stand before you until you have destroyed them.
25You shall burn the engraved images of their gods with fire. You shall not covet the silver or the gold that is on them, nor take it for yourself, lest you be snared in it; for it is an abomination to the LORD your God.
26You shall not bring an abomination into your house and become a devoted thing like it. You shall utterly detest it. You shall utterly abhor it; for it is a devoted thing.
