El Señor habló con ustedes cara a cara desde el centro del fuego en el monte.

The LORD talked with you face to face in the mount out of the midst of the fire,

Yo estaba como mediador entre ustedes y el Señor porque ustedes tenían miedo del fuego y no se quisieron acercar al monte. Él me habló y yo les di sus leyes. Esto es lo que dijo:
(Yo estaba entonces entre Jehová y vosotros, para denunciaros la palabra de Jehová; porque vosotros tuvisteis temor del fuego, y no subisteis al monte;) diciendo:
(I stood between the LORD and you at that time, to shew you the word of the LORD: for ye were afraid by reason of the fire, and went not up into the mount;) saying,

»Yo soy el Señor tu Dios que te liberó de la esclavitud de Egipto.

I am the LORD thy God, which brought thee out of the land of Egypt, from the house of bondage.

Thou shalt not make thee any graven image, or any likeness of any thing that is in heaven above, or that is in the earth beneath, or that is in the waters beneath the earth:

No te inclinarás delante de imagen alguna para adorarla de ninguna forma, porque yo, el Señor tu Dios; soy un Dios celoso. Yo castigo la maldad que haga un jefe de clan, incluyendo la tercera y cuarta generación de los que me odian; pero muestro misericordia a muchas generaciones de los que me aman y obedecen mis mandamientos.
No te inclinarás á ellas ni les servirás: porque yo soy Jehová tu Dios, fuerte, celoso, que visito la iniquidad de los padres sobre los hijos, y sobre los terceros, y sobre los cuartos, á los que me aborrecen,

Y que hago misericordia á millares á los que me aman, y guardan mis mandamientos.

»No usarás mi nombre en vano. No daré por inocente al que lo haga. Yo el Señor tu Dios.

»Guarda el día de reposo como un día santo. Este es mi mandamiento.
Guardarás el día del reposo para santificarlo, como Jehová tu Dios te ha mandado.
Keep the sabbath day to sanctify it, as the LORD thy God hath commanded thee.

pero el séptimo le pertenece al Señor tu Dios; en ese día nadie en tu casa debe trabajar: tú, tus hijos e hijas, tus esclavos, tus bueyes, tus burros, ni ninguno de tus animales, ni los extranjeros que se han establecido entre ustedes. Todos deben descansar juntamente contigo, especialmente tus esclavos y tus esclavas.
Mas el séptimo es reposo á Jehová tu Dios: ninguna obra harás tú, ni tu hijo, ni tu hija, ni tu siervo, ni tu sierva, ni tu buey, ni tu asno, ni ningún animal tuyo, ni tu peregrino que está dentro de tus puertas: porque descanse tu siervo y tu sierva como tú.

Recuerda que tú mismo fuiste esclavo en Egipto, y el Señor tu Dios te sacó de ese país con gran demostración de poder. Esa es la razón para obedecer este mandamiento.
Y acuérdate que fuiste siervo en tierra de Egipto, y que Jehová tu Dios te sacó de allá con mano fuerte y brazo extendido: por lo cual Jehová tu Dios te ha mandado que guardes el día del reposo.
And remember that thou wast a servant in the land of Egypt, and that the LORD thy God brought thee out thence through a mighty hand and by a stretched out arm: therefore the LORD thy God commanded thee to keep the sabbath day.

»Honra a tu padre y a tu madre, tal como el Señor tu Dios te ordenó. Si lo haces, tendrás una vida larga y próspera en la tierra que te da.
Honra á tu padre y á tu madre, como Jehová tu Dios te ha mandado, para que sean prolongados tus días, y para que te vaya bien sobre la tierra que Jehová tu Dios te da.

Tampoco codiciarás la esposa de otro hombre, ni su casa, ni su tierra, ni sus esclavos, ni sus bueyes, ni sus burros ni cosa alguna que él posea.
No codiciarás la mujer de tu prójimo, ni desearás la casa de tu prójimo, ni su tierra, ni su siervo, ni su sierva, ni su buey, ni su asno, ni ninguna cosa que sea de tu prójimo.
Neither shalt thou desire thy neighbour’s wife, neither shalt thou covet thy neighbour’s house, his field, or his manservant, or his maidservant, his ox, or his ass, or any thing that is thy neighbour’s.
“You shall not covet your neighbor’s wife. Neither shall you desire your neighbor’s house, his field, or his male servant, or his female servant, his ox, or his donkey, or anything that is your neighbor’s.”
»El Señor les dio estas leyes cuando estaban congregados como asamblea ante el monte. Él les habló desde el fuego, las nubes y las tinieblas que cubrían el monte Sinaí. Estos fueron los únicos mandamientos que el Señor les dio entonces, y los escribió en dos tablas de piedra que me entregó.
Estas palabras habló Jehová á toda vuestra congregación en el monte, de en medio del fuego, de la nube y de la oscuridad, á gran voz: y no añadió más. Y escribiólas en dos tablas de piedra, las cuales me dió á mí.

Y aconteció, que como vosotros oisteis la voz de en medio de las tinieblas, y visteis al monte que ardía en fuego, llegasteis á mí todos los príncipes de vuestras tribus, y vuestros ancianos;
And it came to pass, when ye heard the voice out of the midst of the darkness, (for the mountain did burn with fire,) that ye came near unto me, even all the heads of your tribes, and your elders;
When you heard the voice out of the middle of the darkness, while the mountain was burning with fire, you came near to me, even all the heads of your tribes, and your elders;
y me rogaron: “Hoy nuestro Dios nos ha mostrado su gloria y su grandeza; hemos oído su voz desde el centro del fuego. Ahora sabemos que una persona puede oír a Dios y no morir;
Y dijisteis: He aquí, Jehová nuestro Dios nos ha mostrado su gloria y su grandeza, y hemos oído su voz de en medio del fuego: hoy hemos visto que Jehová habla al hombre, y éste vive.
And ye said, Behold, the LORD our God hath shewed us his glory and his greatness, and we have heard his voice out of the midst of the fire: we have seen this day that God doth talk with man, and he liveth.

pero si nos habla nuevamente, de seguro moriremos. ¡Ese fuego terrible nos va a destruir totalmente!
Ahora pues, ¿por qué moriremos? que este gran fuego nos consumirá: si tornáremos á oir la voz de Jehová nuestro Dios, moriremos.
Now therefore why should we die? for this great fire will consume us: if we hear the voice of the LORD our God any more, then we shall die.

¿Qué mortal puede oír, como hemos oído nosotros, la voz del Dios vivo, que habla desde el fuego, y vivir?
Porque, ¿qué es toda carne, para que oiga la voz del Dios viviente que habla de en medio del fuego, como nosotros la oímos, y viva?
For who is there of all flesh, that hath heard the voice of the living God speaking out of the midst of the fire, as we have, and lived?

Ve tú y escucha todo lo que Dios dice, y luego ven y dínoslo y nosotros oiremos y obedeceremos”.
Llega tú, y oye todas las cosas que dijere Jehová nuestro Dios; y tú nos dirás todo lo que Jehová nuestro Dios te dijere, y nosotros oiremos y haremos.

»El Señor accedió a la petición y me dijo: “He oído lo que el pueblo te ha dicho y estoy de acuerdo.
Y oyó Jehová la voz de vuestras palabras, cuando me hablabais; y díjome Jehová: He oído la voz de las palabras de este pueblo, que ellos te han hablado: bien está todo lo que han dicho.
And the LORD heard the voice of your words, when ye spake unto me; and the LORD said unto me, I have heard the voice of the words of this people, which they have spoken unto thee: they have well said all that they have spoken.

Ojalá siempre estuviera dispuesto a obedecer mis mandamientos. Si así fuera, les iría bien en todo a ellos, a sus hijos y a las generaciones futuras.
¡Quién diera que tuviesen tal corazón, que me temiesen, y guardasen todos los días todos mis mandamientos, para que á ellos y á sus hijos les fuese bien para siempre!
O that there were such an heart in them, that they would fear me, and keep all my commandments always, that it might be well with them, and with their children for ever!

Ve y diles que regresen a sus tiendas.
Ve, diles: Volveos á vuestras tiendas.
Go say to them, Get you into your tents again.
“Go tell them, ‘Return to your tents.’
Luego regresa de nuevo a donde estoy. Te daré todos los mandamientos para que se los enseñes al pueblo con el fin de que los pongan en práctica en la tierra que les voy a dar”».
Y tú estáte aquí conmigo, y te diré todos los mandamientos, y estatutos, y derechos, que les has de enseñar, á fin que los pongan ahora por obra en la tierra que yo les doy para poseerla.
But as for thee, stand thou here by me, and I will speak unto thee all the commandments, and the statutes, and the judgments, which thou shalt teach them, that they may do them in the land which I give them to possess it.

Entonces Moisés le dijo al pueblo: «Deben obedecer los mandamientos tal como el Señor su Dios se los ha ordenado. Sigan sus instrucciones al pie de la letra,
Mirad, pues, que hagáis como Jehová vuestro Dios os ha mandado: no os apartéis á diestra ni á siniestra;
Ye shall observe to do therefore as the LORD your God hath commanded you: ye shall not turn aside to the right hand or to the left.
You shall observe to do therefore as the LORD your God has commanded you. You shall not turn away to the right hand or to the left.
y manténganse en el derrotero que Dios les trazó. Esa es la única forma en la que tendrán vida larga y próspera en la tierra que pronto entrarán a poseer.
Andad en todo camino que Jehová vuestro Dios os ha mandado, para que viváis, y os vaya bien, y tengáis largos días en la tierra que habéis de poseer.
Ye shall walk in all the ways which the LORD your God hath commanded you, that ye may live, and that it may be well with you, and that ye may prolong your days in the land which ye shall possess.
