1Und Mose berief das ganze Israel und sprach zu ihnen: Höre, Israel, die Satzungen und die Rechte, die ich heute vor euren Ohren rede; und lernet sie, und achtet darauf, sie zu tun.
2Jehova, unser Gott, hat am Horeb einen Bund mit uns gemacht.
3Nicht mit unseren Vätern hat Jehova diesen Bund gemacht, sondern mit uns, die wir heute hier alle am Leben sind.
4Von Angesicht zu Angesicht hat Jehova auf dem Berge, mitten aus dem Feuer, mit euch geredet-
5ich stand zwischen Jehova und euch in selbiger Zeit, um euch das Wort Jehovas zu verkünden; denn ihr fürchtetet euch vor dem Feuer und stieget nicht auf den Berg indem er sprach:
6Ich bin Jehova, dein Gott, der ich dich herausgeführt habe aus dem Lande Ägypten, aus dem Hause der Knechtschaft.
7Du sollst keine anderen Götter haben neben mir. -
8Du sollst dir kein geschnitztes Bild machen, irgend ein Gleichnis dessen, was oben im Himmel, und was unten auf der Erde, und was in den Wassern unter der Erde ist.
9Du sollst dich nicht vor ihnen niederbeugen und ihnen nicht dienen; denn ich, Jehova, dein Gott, bin ein eifernder Gott, der die Ungerechtigkeit der Väter heimsucht an den Kindern, ja, am dritten und am vierten Gliede derer, die mich hassen;
10und der Güte erweist, auf Tausende hin, an denen, die mich lieben und meine Gebote beobachten. -
11Du sollst den Namen Jehovas, deines Gottes, nicht zu Eitlem aussprechen; denn Jehova wird den nicht für schuldlos halten, der seinen Namen zu Eitlem ausspricht. -
12Beobachte den Sabbathtag, ihn zu heiligen, so wie Jehova, dein Gott, dir geboten hat.
13Sechs Tage sollst du arbeiten und all dein Werk tun;
14aber der siebte Tag ist Sabbath dem Jehova, deinem Gott: Du sollst keinerlei Werk tun, du und dein Sohn und deine Tochter und dein Knecht und deine Magd, und dein Rind und dein Esel und all dein Vieh, und dein Fremdling, der in deinen Toren ist; auf daß dein Knecht und deine Magd ruhen gleichwie du.
15Und gedenke, daß du ein Knecht gewesen bist im Lande Ägypten, und daß Jehova, dein Gott, dich mit starker Hand und mit ausgestrecktem Arme von dannen herausgeführt hat; darum hat Jehova, dein Gott, dir geboten, den Sabbathtag zu feiern. -
16Ehre deinen Vater und deine Mutter, so wie Jehova, dein Gott, dir geboten hat, auf daß deine Tage verlängert werden, und auf daß es dir wohlgehe in dem Lande, welches Jehova, dein Gott, dir gibt. -
17Du sollst nicht töten. -
18Und du sollst nicht ehebrechen. -
19Und du sollst nicht stehlen. -
20Und du sollst kein falsches Zeugnis ablegen wider deinen Nächsten. -
21Und du sollst nicht begehren deines Nächsten Weib; und du sollst dich nicht gelüsten lassen deines Nächsten Hauses, noch seines Feldes, noch seines Knechtes, noch seiner Magd, noch seines Rindes, noch seines Esels, noch alles dessen, was dein Nächster hat.
22Diese Worte hat Jehova auf dem Berge zu eurer ganzen Versammlung geredet, mitten aus dem Feuer, dem Gewölk und dem Dunkel, mit starker Stimme, und er fügte nichts hinzu. Und er schrieb sie auf zwei steinerne Tafeln und gab sie mir.
23Und es geschah, als ihr die Stimme mitten aus der Finsternis hörtet, während der Berg im Feuer brannte, da nahtet ihr zu mir, alle Häupter eurer Stämme und eure Ältesten, und sprachet:
24Siehe, Jehova, unser Gott, hat uns seine Herrlichkeit und seine Größe sehen lassen, und wir haben seine Stimme mitten aus dem Feuer gehört; an diesem Tage haben wir gesehen, daß Jehova mit dem Menschen redet und er am Leben bleibt.
25Und nun, warum sollten wir sterben? Denn dieses große Feuer wird uns verzehren. Wenn wir die Stimme Jehovas, unseres Gottes, noch weiter hören, so werden wir sterben.
26Denn wer ist von allem Fleische, der die Stimme des lebendigen Gottes mitten aus dem Feuer hätte reden hören, wie wir, und wäre am Leben geblieben?
27Nahe du hinzu und höre alles, was Jehova, unser Gott, sagen wird; und du, du sollst alles zu uns reden, was Jehova, unser Gott, zu dir reden wird, und wir wollen hören und es tun.
28Und Jehova hörte die Stimme eurer Worte, als ihr zu mir redetet; und Jehova sprach zu mir: Ich habe die Stimme der Worte dieses Volkes gehört, welche sie zu dir geredet haben; es ist alles gut, was sie geredet haben.
29Möchte doch dieses ihr Herz ihnen bleiben, mich allezeit zu fürchten und alle meine Gebote zu beobachten, auf daß es ihnen und ihren Kindern wohlgehe ewiglich!
30Gehe hin, sprich zu ihnen: Kehret in eure Zelte zurück!
31Du aber bleibe hier bei mir, und ich will zu dir reden alle die Gebote und die Satzungen und die Rechte, welche du sie lehren sollst, damit sie sie tun in dem Lande, das ich ihnen gebe, es zu besitzen. -
32So achtet denn darauf, zu tun, wie Jehova, euer Gott, euch geboten hat; weichet nicht ab zur Rechten noch zur Linken.
33Auf dem ganzen Wege, den Jehova, euer Gott, euch geboten hat, sollt ihr wandeln, auf daß ihr lebet und es euch wohlgehe, und ihr eure Tage verlängert in dem Lande, das ihr besitzen werdet.

1Y LLAMÓ Moisés á todo Israel, y díjoles: Oye, Israel, los estatutos y derechos que yo pronuncio hoy en vuestros oídos: y aprendedlos, y guardadlos, para ponerlos por obra.
2Jehová nuestro Dios hizo pacto con nosotros en Horeb.
3No con nuestros padres hizo Jehová este pacto, sino con nosotros todos los que estamos aquí hoy vivos.
4Cara á cara habló Jehová con vosotros en el monte de en medio del fuego,
5(Yo estaba entonces entre Jehová y vosotros, para denunciaros la palabra de Jehová; porque vosotros tuvisteis temor del fuego, y no subisteis al monte;) diciendo:
6Yo soy Jehová tu Dios, que te saqué de tierra de Egipto, de casa de siervos.
7No tendrás dioses extraños delante de mí.
8No harás para ti escultura, ni imagen alguna de cosa que está arriba en los cielos, ó abajo en la tierra, ó en las aguas debajo de la tierra:
9No te inclinarás á ellas ni les servirás: porque yo soy Jehová tu Dios, fuerte, celoso, que visito la iniquidad de los padres sobre los hijos, y sobre los terceros, y sobre los cuartos, á los que me aborrecen,
10Y que hago misericordia á millares á los que me aman, y guardan mis mandamientos.
11No tomarás en vano el nombre de Jehová tu Dios; porque Jehová no dará por inocente al que tomare en vano su nombre.
12Guardarás el día del reposo para santificarlo, como Jehová tu Dios te ha mandado.
13Seis días trabajarás y harás toda tu obra:
14Mas el séptimo es reposo á Jehová tu Dios: ninguna obra harás tú, ni tu hijo, ni tu hija, ni tu siervo, ni tu sierva, ni tu buey, ni tu asno, ni ningún animal tuyo, ni tu peregrino que está dentro de tus puertas: porque descanse tu siervo y tu sierva como tú.
15Y acuérdate que fuiste siervo en tierra de Egipto, y que Jehová tu Dios te sacó de allá con mano fuerte y brazo extendido: por lo cual Jehová tu Dios te ha mandado que guardes el día del reposo.
16Honra á tu padre y á tu madre, como Jehová tu Dios te ha mandado, para que sean prolongados tus días, y para que te vaya bien sobre la tierra que Jehová tu Dios te da.
17No matarás.
18No adulterarás.
19No hurtarás.
20No dirás falso testimonio contra tu prójimo.
21No codiciarás la mujer de tu prójimo, ni desearás la casa de tu prójimo, ni su tierra, ni su siervo, ni su sierva, ni su buey, ni su asno, ni ninguna cosa que sea de tu prójimo.
22Estas palabras habló Jehová á toda vuestra congregación en el monte, de en medio del fuego, de la nube y de la oscuridad, á gran voz: y no añadió más. Y escribiólas en dos tablas de piedra, las cuales me dió á mí.
23Y aconteció, que como vosotros oisteis la voz de en medio de las tinieblas, y visteis al monte que ardía en fuego, llegasteis á mí todos los príncipes de vuestras tribus, y vuestros ancianos;
24Y dijisteis: He aquí, Jehová nuestro Dios nos ha mostrado su gloria y su grandeza, y hemos oído su voz de en medio del fuego: hoy hemos visto que Jehová habla al hombre, y éste vive.
25Ahora pues, ¿por qué moriremos? que este gran fuego nos consumirá: si tornáremos á oir la voz de Jehová nuestro Dios, moriremos.
26Porque, ¿qué es toda carne, para que oiga la voz del Dios viviente que habla de en medio del fuego, como nosotros la oímos, y viva?
27Llega tú, y oye todas las cosas que dijere Jehová nuestro Dios; y tú nos dirás todo lo que Jehová nuestro Dios te dijere, y nosotros oiremos y haremos.
28Y oyó Jehová la voz de vuestras palabras, cuando me hablabais; y díjome Jehová: He oído la voz de las palabras de este pueblo, que ellos te han hablado: bien está todo lo que han dicho.
29¡Quién diera que tuviesen tal corazón, que me temiesen, y guardasen todos los días todos mis mandamientos, para que á ellos y á sus hijos les fuese bien para siempre!
30Ve, diles: Volveos á vuestras tiendas.
31Y tú estáte aquí conmigo, y te diré todos los mandamientos, y estatutos, y derechos, que les has de enseñar, á fin que los pongan ahora por obra en la tierra que yo les doy para poseerla.
32Mirad, pues, que hagáis como Jehová vuestro Dios os ha mandado: no os apartéis á diestra ni á siniestra;
33Andad en todo camino que Jehová vuestro Dios os ha mandado, para que viváis, y os vaya bien, y tengáis largos días en la tierra que habéis de poseer.

1And Moses called all Israel, and said unto them, Hear, O Israel, the statutes and judgments which I speak in your ears this day, that ye may learn them, and keep, and do them.
2The LORD our God made a covenant with us in Horeb.
3The LORD made not this covenant with our fathers, but with us, even us, who are all of us here alive this day.
4The LORD talked with you face to face in the mount out of the midst of the fire,
5(I stood between the LORD and you at that time, to shew you the word of the LORD: for ye were afraid by reason of the fire, and went not up into the mount;) saying,
6I am the LORD thy God, which brought thee out of the land of Egypt, from the house of bondage.
7Thou shalt have none other gods before me.
8Thou shalt not make thee any graven image, or any likeness of any thing that is in heaven above, or that is in the earth beneath, or that is in the waters beneath the earth:
9Thou shalt not bow down thyself unto them, nor serve them: for I the LORD thy God am a jealous God, visiting the iniquity of the fathers upon the children unto the third and fourth generation of them that hate me,
10And shewing mercy unto thousands of them that love me and keep my commandments.
11Thou shalt not take the name of the LORD thy God in vain: for the LORD will not hold him guiltless that taketh his name in vain.
12Keep the sabbath day to sanctify it, as the LORD thy God hath commanded thee.
13Six days thou shalt labour, and do all thy work:
14But the seventh day is the sabbath of the LORD thy God: in it thou shalt not do any work, thou, nor thy son, nor thy daughter, nor thy manservant, nor thy maidservant, nor thine ox, nor thine ass, nor any of thy cattle, nor thy stranger that is within thy gates; that thy manservant and thy maidservant may rest as well as thou.
15And remember that thou wast a servant in the land of Egypt, and that the LORD thy God brought thee out thence through a mighty hand and by a stretched out arm: therefore the LORD thy God commanded thee to keep the sabbath day.
16Honour thy father and thy mother, as the LORD thy God hath commanded thee; that thy days may be prolonged, and that it may go well with thee, in the land which the LORD thy God giveth thee.
17Thou shalt not kill.
18Neither shalt thou commit adultery.
19Neither shalt thou steal.
20Neither shalt thou bear false witness against thy neighbour.
21Neither shalt thou desire thy neighbour’s wife, neither shalt thou covet thy neighbour’s house, his field, or his manservant, or his maidservant, his ox, or his ass, or any thing that is thy neighbour’s.
22These words the LORD spake unto all your assembly in the mount out of the midst of the fire, of the cloud, and of the thick darkness, with a great voice: and he added no more. And he wrote them in two tables of stone, and delivered them unto me.
23And it came to pass, when ye heard the voice out of the midst of the darkness, (for the mountain did burn with fire,) that ye came near unto me, even all the heads of your tribes, and your elders;
24And ye said, Behold, the LORD our God hath shewed us his glory and his greatness, and we have heard his voice out of the midst of the fire: we have seen this day that God doth talk with man, and he liveth.
25Now therefore why should we die? for this great fire will consume us: if we hear the voice of the LORD our God any more, then we shall die.
26For who is there of all flesh, that hath heard the voice of the living God speaking out of the midst of the fire, as we have, and lived?
27Go thou near, and hear all that the LORD our God shall say: and speak thou unto us all that the LORD our God shall speak unto thee; and we will hear it, and do it.
28And the LORD heard the voice of your words, when ye spake unto me; and the LORD said unto me, I have heard the voice of the words of this people, which they have spoken unto thee: they have well said all that they have spoken.
29O that there were such an heart in them, that they would fear me, and keep all my commandments always, that it might be well with them, and with their children for ever!
30Go say to them, Get you into your tents again.
31But as for thee, stand thou here by me, and I will speak unto thee all the commandments, and the statutes, and the judgments, which thou shalt teach them, that they may do them in the land which I give them to possess it.
32Ye shall observe to do therefore as the LORD your God hath commanded you: ye shall not turn aside to the right hand or to the left.
33Ye shall walk in all the ways which the LORD your God hath commanded you, that ye may live, and that it may be well with you, and that ye may prolong your days in the land which ye shall possess.
World English Bible
1Moses called to all Israel, and said to them, “Hear, Israel, the statutes and the ordinances which I speak in your ears today, that you may learn them, and observe to do them.”
2The LORD our God made a covenant with us in Horeb.
3The LORD didn’t make this covenant with our fathers, but with us, even us, who are all of us here alive today.
4The LORD spoke with you face to face on the mountain out of the middle of the fire,
5(I stood between the LORD and you at that time, to show you the LORD’s word; for you were afraid because of the fire, and didn’t go up onto the mountain) saying,
6“I am the LORD your God, who brought you out of the land of Egypt, out of the house of bondage.
7“You shall have no other gods before me.
8“You shall not make a carved image for yourself—any likeness of what is in heaven above, or what is in the earth beneath, or that is in the water under the earth.
9You shall not bow yourself down to them, nor serve them, for I, the LORD your God, am a jealous God, visiting the iniquity of the fathers on the children and on the third and on the fourth generation of those who hate me
10and showing loving kindness to thousands of those who love me and keep my commandments.
11“You shall not misuse the name of the LORD your God; for the LORD will not hold him guiltless who misuses his name.
12“Observe the Sabbath day, to keep it holy, as the LORD your God commanded you.
13You shall labor six days, and do all your work;
14but the seventh day is a Sabbath to the LORD your God, in which you shall not do any work—neither you, nor your son, nor your daughter, nor your male servant, nor your female servant, nor your ox, nor your donkey, nor any of your livestock, nor your stranger who is within your gates; that your male servant and your female servant may rest as well as you.
15You shall remember that you were a servant in the land of Egypt, and the LORD your God brought you out of there by a mighty hand and by an outstretched arm. Therefore the LORD your God commanded you to keep the Sabbath day.
16“Honor your father and your mother, as the LORD your God commanded you, that your days may be long and that it may go well with you in the land which the LORD your God gives you.
17“You shall not murder.
18“You shall not commit adultery.
19“You shall not steal.
20“You shall not give false testimony against your neighbor.
21“You shall not covet your neighbor’s wife. Neither shall you desire your neighbor’s house, his field, or his male servant, or his female servant, his ox, or his donkey, or anything that is your neighbor’s.”
22The LORD spoke these words to all your assembly on the mountain out of the middle of the fire, of the cloud, and of the thick darkness, with a great voice. He added no more. He wrote them on two stone tablets, and gave them to me.
23When you heard the voice out of the middle of the darkness, while the mountain was burning with fire, you came near to me, even all the heads of your tribes, and your elders;
24and you said, “Behold, the LORD our God has shown us his glory and his greatness, and we have heard his voice out of the middle of the fire. We have seen today that God does speak with man, and he lives.
25Now therefore, why should we die? For this great fire will consume us. If we hear the LORD our God’s voice any more, then we shall die.
26For who is there of all flesh who has heard the voice of the living God speaking out of the middle of the fire, as we have, and lived?
27Go near, and hear all that the LORD our God shall say, and tell us all that the LORD our God tells you; and we will hear it, and do it.”
28The LORD heard the voice of your words when you spoke to me; and the LORD said to me, “I have heard the voice of the words of this people which they have spoken to you. They have well said all that they have spoken.
29Oh that there were such a heart in them that they would fear me and keep all my commandments always, that it might be well with them and with their children forever!
30“Go tell them, ‘Return to your tents.’
31But as for you, stand here by me, and I will tell you all the commandments, and the statutes, and the ordinances, which you shall teach them, that they may do them in the land which I give them to possess.”
32You shall observe to do therefore as the LORD your God has commanded you. You shall not turn away to the right hand or to the left.
33You shall walk in all the way which the LORD your God has commanded you, that you may live and that it may be well with you, and that you may prolong your days in the land which you shall possess.
