1Und wir wandten uns und zogen hinauf den Weg nach Baschan; und Og, der König von Baschan, ging aus, uns entgegen, er und all sein Volk, zum Streite bei Edrei.
2Und Jehovah sprach zu mir: Fürchte ihn nicht, denn Ich habe ihn und all sein Volk und sein Land in deine Hand gegeben; und tue ihm, wie du Sichon, dem Amoriterkönig, der in Cheschbon wohnte, getan hast.
3Und Jehovah, unser Gott, gab auch Og, den König von Baschan, und all sein Volk in unsre Hand, und wir schlugen ihn, bis kein Rest verblieb.
4Und wir eroberten zur selben Zeit alle seine Städte; da war keine Stadt, die wir ihnen nicht nahmen, sechzig Städte, den ganzen Landstrich von Argob, das Königreich Ogs in Baschan.
5Alle diese Städte waren fest mit hohen Mauern, mit Flügeltoren und Riegeln, außer den sehr vielen nicht ummauerten Städten.
6Und wir bannten sie, wie wir Sichon, dem König von Cheschbon taten, alle Städte mit Männern, Weibern und Kindlein wurden gebannt.
7Und alles Vieh und die Beute der Städte raubten wir für uns.
8Und wir nahmen zur selben Zeit das Land aus der Hand der zwei Könige der Amoriter, diesseits des Jordans, vom Bache Arnon bis zum Berge Chermon.
9Die Zidonier nennen den Chermon Sirion, und die Amoriter nennen ihn Senir.
10Alle Städte der Ebene und ganz Gilead und ganz Baschan bis Salcha und Edrei, Städte des Königsreiches Ogs in Baschan.
11Denn Og, König von Baschan, verblieb allein von den Übriggebliebenen der Rephaim. Siehe, sein Ruhebett, ein Ruhebett von Eisen, ist es nicht in Rabbath der Söhne Ammons? Neun Ellen ist seine Länge und vier Ellen seine Breite nach dem Mannes- Ellenbogen.
12Und dieses Land haben wir zur selben Zeit eingenommen, von Aroer an, das am Bache Arnon ist; und die Hälfte des Berges Gilead und dessen Städte habe ich dem Rubeniter und dem Gaditer gegeben.
13Und das übrige Gilead und ganz Baschan, Ogs Königreich, gab ich dem halben Stamme Menascheh, den ganzen Landstrich von Argob, samt dem ganzen Baschan; es heißt das Land der Rephaim.
14Jair, Menaschehs Sohn, nahm den ganzen Landstrich Argob bis an die Grenze der Gaschuriter und der Maachathiter, und nannte Baschan nach seinem Namen die Dörfer Jairs bis auf diesen Tag.
15Und dem Machir gab ich Gilead.
16Und dem Rubeniter und dem Gaditer gab ich von Gilead und bis an den Bach Arnon, zur Mitte des Baches als Grenze, und bis zum Bache Jabbok, der Grenze der Söhne Ammons.
17Und das Flachland und den Jordan als Grenze. Vom Kinnereth und bis zum Meer des Flachlandes, zum Salzmeer unter den Abhängen des Pisgah dem Aufgang zu.
18Und ich gebot euch zur selben Zeit und sprach: Jehovah, euer Gott, hat euch dieses Land gegeben zum Erbbesitz. Ausgerüstet sollt ihr vor euren Brüdern, den Söhnen Israels, hinüberziehen, alle tapferen Söhne.
19Nur eure Weiber und eure Kindlein und eure Viehherden - ich weiß, ihr habt viel Viehherden - sollen in euren Städten bleiben, die ich euch gegeben habe;
20Bis Jehovah eure Brüder wie euch zur Ruhe gebracht, und auch sie das Land einnehmen, das Jehovah, euer Gott, ihnen jenseits des Jordans geben wird. Und ihr kehret, jeder Mann, zu seinem Erbbesitz zurück, das ich euch gegeben habe.
21Und dem Jehoschua habe ich zur selben Zeit geboten und gesagt: Deine Augen haben gesehen alles, was Jehovah, euer Gott, diesen zwei Königen getan hat. So wird Jehovah allen den Königreichen tun, in die du hinüberziehen wirst.
22Fürchtet sie nicht; denn Jehovah, euer Gott, Er streitet für euch.
23Und ich flehte zur selben Zeit zu Jehovah und sprach:
24O Herr, Jehovah, Du hast angefangen, Deinem Knechte Deine Größe und Deine starke Hand zu zeigen; denn welcher Gott im Himmel und auf Erden kann Deine Taten und nach Deiner Macht tun!
25Laß mich doch hinüberziehen und sehen das gute Land, das jenseits des Jordans ist! dies gute Gebirge und den Libanon!
26Aber Jehovah wütete gegen mich um euretwillen und hörte nicht auf mich. Und Jehovah sprach zu mir: Dir ist viel geworden. Rede zu Mir nicht weiter von dieser Sache.
27Steige auf die Spitze des Pisgah und erhebe deine Augen dem Meere zu und nach Mitternacht, und nach Süden und gegen Aufgang, und siehe mit deinen Augen; denn du sollst nicht über diesen Jordan übersetzen.
28Gebiete aber Jehoschua, stärke ihn und mache ihn rüstig; denn er soll vor diesem Volke hinüberziehen und ihnen das Land zum Erbe verteilen, das du sehen wirst.
29Wir aber blieben in dem Tale, Beth Peor gegenüber.

1Y VOLVIMOS, y subimos camino de Basán, y saliónos al encuentro Og rey de Basán para pelear, él y todo su pueblo, en Edrei.
2Y díjome Jehová: No tengas temor de él, porque en tu mano he entregado á él y á todo su pueblo, y su tierra: y harás con él como hiciste con Sehón rey Amorrheo, que habitaba en Hesbón.
3Y Jehová nuestro Dios entregó también en nuestra mano á Og rey de Basán, y á todo su pueblo, al cual herimos hasta no quedar de él ninguno.
4Y tomamos entonces todas sus ciudades; no quedó ciudad que no les tomásemos: sesenta ciudades, toda la tierra de Argob, del reino de Og en Basán.
5Todas éstas eran ciudades fortalecidas con alto muro, con puertas y barras; sin otras muy muchas ciudades sin muro.
6Y destruímoslas, como hicimos á Sehón rey de Hesbón, destruyendo en toda ciudad hombres, mujeres, y niños.
7Y tomamos para nosotros todas las bestias, y los despojos de las ciudades.
8También tomamos en aquel tiempo de mano de dos reyes Amorrheos que estaban de esta parte del Jordán, la tierra desde el arroyo de Arnón hasta el monte de Hermón:
9(Los Sidonios llaman á Hermón Sirión; y los Amorrheos, Senir:)
10Todas las ciudades de la llanura, y todo Galaad, y todo Basán hasta Salchâ y Edrei, ciudades del reino de Og en Basán.
11Porque sólo Og rey de Basán había quedado de los gigantes que quedaron. He aquí su cama, una cama de hierro, ¿no está en Rabbath de los hijos de Ammón?; la longitud de ella de nueve codos, y su anchura de cuatro codos, al codo de un hombre.
12Y esta tierra que heredamos entonces desde Aroer, que está al arroyo de Arnón, y la mitad del monte de Galaad con sus ciudades, dí á los Rubenitas y á los Gaditas:
13Y el resto de Galaad, y todo Basán, del reino de Og, dílo á la media tribu de Manasés; toda la tierra de Argob, todo Basán, que se llamaba la tierra de los gigantes.
14Jair hijo de Manasés tomó toda la tierra de Argob hasta el término de Gessuri y Machâti; y llamóla de su nombre Basán-havoth-jair, hasta hoy.
15Y á Machîr dí á Galaad.
16Y á los Rubenitas y Gaditas dí de Galaad hasta el arroyo de Arnón, el medio del arroyo por término; hasta el arroyo de Jaboc, término de los hijos de Ammón:
17Asimismo la campiña, y el Jordán, y el término, desde Cinereth hasta la mar del llano, el mar Salado, las vertientes abajo del Pisga al oriente.
18Y os mandé entonces, diciendo: Jehová vuestro Dios os ha dado esta tierra para que la poseáis: pasaréis armados delante de vuestros hermanos los hijos de Israel todos los valientes.
19Solamente vuestras mujeres, vuestros niños, y vuestros ganados, (yo sé que tenéis mucho ganado,) quedarán en vuestras ciudades que os he dado,
20Hasta que Jehová dé reposo á vuestros hermanos, así como á vosotros, y hereden también ellos la tierra que Jehová vuestro Dios les da á la otra parte del Jordán: entonces os volveréis cada uno á su heredad que yo os he dado.
21Mandé también á Josué entonces, diciendo: Tus ojos vieron todo lo que Jehová vuestro Dios ha hecho á aquellos dos reyes: así hará Jehová á todos los reinos á los cuales pasarás tú.
22No los temáis; que Jehová vuestro Dios, él es el que pelea por vosotros.
23Y oré á Jehová en aquel tiempo, diciendo:
24Señor Jehová, tú has comenzado á mostrar á tu siervo tu grandeza, y tu mano fuerte: porque ¿qué dios hay en el cielo ni en la tierra que haga según tus obras, y según tus valentías?
25Pase yo, ruégote, y vea aquella tierra buena, que está á la parte allá del Jordán, aquel buen monte, y el Líbano.
26Mas Jehová se había enojado contra mí por causa de vosotros, por lo cual no me oyó: y díjome Jehová: Bástate, no me hables más de este negocio.
27Sube á la cumbre del Pisga, y alza tus ojos al occidente, y al aquilón, y al mediodía, y al oriente, y ve por tus ojos: porque no pasarás este Jordán.
28Y manda á Josué, y anímalo, y confórtalo; porque él ha de pasar delante de este pueblo, y él les hará heredar la tierra que verás.
29Y paramos en el valle delante de Beth-peor.

1Then we turned, and went up the way to Bashan: and Og the king of Bashan came out against us, he and all his people, to battle at Edrei.
2And the LORD said unto me, Fear him not: for I will deliver him, and all his people, and his land, into thy hand; and thou shalt do unto him as thou didst unto Sihon king of the Amorites, which dwelt at Heshbon.
3So the LORD our God delivered into our hands Og also, the king of Bashan, and all his people: and we smote him until none was left to him remaining.
4And we took all his cities at that time, there was not a city which we took not from them, threescore cities, all the region of Argob, the kingdom of Og in Bashan.
5All these cities were fenced with high walls, gates, and bars; beside unwalled towns a great many.
6And we utterly destroyed them, as we did unto Sihon king of Heshbon, utterly destroying the men, women, and children, of every city.
7But all the cattle, and the spoil of the cities, we took for a prey to ourselves.
8And we took at that time out of the hand of the two kings of the Amorites the land that was on this side Jordan, from the river of Arnon unto mount Hermon;
9(Which Hermon the Sidonians call Sirion; and the Amorites call it Shenir;)
10All the cities of the plain, and all Gilead, and all Bashan, unto Salchah and Edrei, cities of the kingdom of Og in Bashan.
11For only Og king of Bashan remained of the remnant of giants; behold, his bedstead was a bedstead of iron; is it not in Rabbath of the children of Ammon? nine cubits was the length thereof, and four cubits the breadth of it, after the cubit of a man.
12And this land, which we possessed at that time, from Aroer, which is by the river Arnon, and half mount Gilead, and the cities thereof, gave I unto the Reubenites and to the Gadites.
13And the rest of Gilead, and all Bashan, being the kingdom of Og, gave I unto the half tribe of Manasseh; all the region of Argob, with all Bashan, which was called the land of giants.
14Jair the son of Manasseh took all the country of Argob unto the coasts of Geshuri and Maachathi; and called them after his own name, Bashan-havoth-jair, unto this day.
15And I gave Gilead unto Machir.
16And unto the Reubenites and unto the Gadites I gave from Gilead even unto the river Arnon half the valley, and the border even unto the river Jabbok, which is the border of the children of Ammon;
17The plain also, and Jordan, and the coast thereof, from Chinnereth even unto the sea of the plain, even the salt sea, under Ashdoth-pisgah eastward.
18And I commanded you at that time, saying, The LORD your God hath given you this land to possess it: ye shall pass over armed before your brethren the children of Israel, all that are meet for the war.
19But your wives, and your little ones, and your cattle, (for I know that ye have much cattle,) shall abide in your cities which I have given you;
20Until the LORD have given rest unto your brethren, as well as unto you, and until they also possess the land which the LORD your God hath given them beyond Jordan: and then shall ye return every man unto his possession, which I have given you.
21And I commanded Joshua at that time, saying, Thine eyes have seen all that the LORD your God hath done unto these two kings: so shall the LORD do unto all the kingdoms whither thou passest.
22Ye shall not fear them: for the LORD your God he shall fight for you.
23And I besought the LORD at that time, saying,
24O Lord GOD, thou hast begun to shew thy servant thy greatness, and thy mighty hand: for what God is there in heaven or in earth, that can do according to thy works, and according to thy might?
25I pray thee, let me go over, and see the good land that is beyond Jordan, that goodly mountain, and Lebanon.
26But the LORD was wroth with me for your sakes, and would not hear me: and the LORD said unto me, Let it suffice thee; speak no more unto me of this matter.
27Get thee up into the top of Pisgah, and lift up thine eyes westward, and northward, and southward, and eastward, and behold it with thine eyes: for thou shalt not go over this Jordan.
28But charge Joshua, and encourage him, and strengthen him: for he shall go over before this people, and he shall cause them to inherit the land which thou shalt see.
29So we abode in the valley over against Beth-peor.
World English Bible
1Then we turned, and went up the way to Bashan. Og the king of Bashan came out against us, he and all his people, to battle at Edrei.
2The LORD said to me, “Don’t fear him; for I have delivered him, with all his people and his land, into your hand. You shall do to him as you did to Sihon king of the Amorites, who lived at Heshbon.”
3So the LORD our God also delivered into our hand Og, the king of Bashan, and all his people. We struck him until no one was left to him remaining.
4We took all his cities at that time. There was not a city which we didn’t take from them: sixty cities, all the region of Argob, the kingdom of Og in Bashan.
5All these were cities fortified with high walls, gates, and bars, in addition to a great many villages without walls.
6We utterly destroyed them, as we did to Sihon king of Heshbon, utterly destroying every inhabited city, with the women and the little ones.
7But all the livestock, and the plunder of the cities, we took for plunder for ourselves.
8We took the land at that time out of the hand of the two kings of the Amorites who were beyond the Jordan, from the valley of the Arnon to Mount Hermon.
9(The Sidonians call Hermon Sirion, and the Amorites call it Senir.)
10We took all the cities of the plain, and all Gilead, and all Bashan, to Salecah and Edrei, cities of the kingdom of Og in Bashan.

13and the rest of Gilead, and all Bashan, the kingdom of Og, I gave to the half-tribe of Manasseh—all the region of Argob, even all Bashan. (The same is called the land of Rephaim.
14Jair the son of Manasseh took all the region of Argob, to the border of the Geshurites and the Maacathites, and called them, even Bashan, after his own name, Havvoth Jair, to this day.)
15I gave Gilead to Machir.
16To the Reubenites and to the Gadites I gave from Gilead even to the valley of the Arnon, the middle of the valley, and its border, even to the river Jabbok, which is the border of the children of Ammon;
17the Arabah also, and the Jordan and its border, from Chinnereth even to the sea of the Arabah, the Salt Sea, under the slopes of Pisgah eastward.
18I commanded you at that time, saying, “The LORD your God has given you this land to possess it. All of you men of valor shall pass over armed before your brothers, the children of Israel.
19But your wives, and your little ones, and your livestock, (I know that you have much livestock), shall live in your cities which I have given you,
20until the LORD gives rest to your brothers, as to you, and they also possess the land which the LORD your God gives them beyond the Jordan. Then you shall each return to his own possession, which I have given you.”
21I commanded Joshua at that time, saying, “Your eyes have seen all that the LORD your God has done to these two kings. So shall the LORD do to all the kingdoms where you go over.
22You shall not fear them; for the LORD your God himself fights for you.”
23I begged GOD at that time, saying,
24“Lord GOD, you have begun to show your servant your greatness, and your strong hand. For what god is there in heaven or in earth that can do works like yours, and mighty acts like yours?
25Please let me go over and see the good land that is beyond the Jordan, that fine mountain, and Lebanon.”
26But the LORD was angry with me because of you, and didn’t listen to me. The LORD said to me, “That is enough! Speak no more to me of this matter.
27Go up to the top of Pisgah, and lift up your eyes westward, and northward, and southward, and eastward, and see with your eyes; for you shall not go over this Jordan.
28But commission Joshua, and encourage him, and strengthen him; for he shall go over before this people, and he shall cause them to inherit the land which you shall see.”
29So we stayed in the valley near Beth Peor.
