ESTAS son las palabras del pacto que Jehová mandó á Moisés concertara con los hijos de Israel en la tierra de Moab, además del pacto que concertó con ellos en Horeb.

Moisés convocou todo o povo e disse: “Vocês viram tudo o que o Senhor fez no Egito ao faraó, a todos os seus oficiais e a toda a sua terra.

juntamente com as crianças, as mulheres e os estrangeiros que vivem no seu acampamento, incluindo os lenhadores e os carregadores de água.

Your little ones, your wives, and thy stranger that is in thy camp, from the hewer of thy wood unto the drawer of thy water:

Vocês estão todos aqui para firmar uma aliança com o Senhor, o seu Deus, aliança que ele está fazendo com vocês hoje.
Para que entres en el pacto de Jehová tu Dios, y en su juramento, que Jehová tu Dios acuerda hoy contigo:

Hoje ele vai confirmá-los como o seu povo para que ele seja o Deus de vocês, conforme lhes prometeu e como jurou aos seus pais Abraão, Isaque e Jacó.

que estão aqui hoje, na presença do Senhor, o seu Deus, mas também com as futuras gerações de Israel.

“Certamente vocês lembram como vivemos na terra do Egito e como, ao sair de lá, atravessamos com segurança as terras das nações inimigas.
Porque vosotros sabéis cómo habitamos en la tierra de Egipto, y cómo hemos pasado por medio de las gentes que habéis pasado;
(For ye know how we have dwelt in the land of Egypt; and how we came through the nations which ye passed by;
(for you know how we lived in the land of Egypt, and how we came through the middle of the nations through which you passed;
E vocês viram as suas imagens e seus ídolos detestáveis de madeira, de pedra, de prata e de ouro.
Y habéis visto sus abominaciones, y sus ídolos, madera y piedra, plata y oro, que tienen consigo.

É bom lembrar essas coisas para que não exista entre vocês homem ou mulher, grupo de famílias, ou tribo cujo coração se afaste do Senhor, o seu Deus, e passe a prestar culto aos deuses daquelas nações. Porque no dia em que alguém fizer isso, estará plantando uma raiz que produzirá fruto amargo e venenoso!
Quizá habrá entre vosotros varón, ó mujer, ó familia, ó tribu, cuyo corazón se vuelva hoy de con Jehová nuestro Dios, por andar á servir á los dioses de aquellas gentes; quizá habrá en vosotros raíz que eche veneno y ajenjo;
Lest there should be among you man, or woman, or family, or tribe, whose heart turneth away this day from the LORD our God, to go and serve the gods of these nations; lest there should be among you a root that beareth gall and wormwood;

“Ninguém caia no erro, ao ouvir estas palavras de maldição, de invocar uma bênção sobre si mesmo no seu íntimo, dizendo: ‘Posso seguir o meu próprio caminho, e mesmo assim ter sucesso e paz’. Isso traria destruição a todos, tanto à terra irrigada quanto à terra seca.
Y sea que, cuando el tal oyere las palabras de esta maldición, él se bendiga en su corazón, diciendo: Tendré paz, aunque ande según el pensamiento de mi corazón, para añadir la embriaguez á la sed:
And it come to pass, when he heareth the words of this curse, that he bless himself in his heart, saying, I shall have peace, though I walk in the imagination of mine heart, to add drunkenness to thirst:
and it happen, when he hears the words of this curse, that he bless himself in his heart, saying, “I shall have peace, though I walk in the stubbornness of my heart,” to destroy the moist with the dry.
O Senhor não perdoará quem fizer algo assim! A ira e o zelo do Senhor arderão em chamas contra tal pessoa! Todas as maldições escritas neste livro cairão sobre ele, e o Senhor apagará o seu nome de debaixo do céu.
Jehová no querrá perdonarle; antes humeará luego el furor de Jehová y su celo sobre el tal hombre, y asentaráse sobre él toda maldición escrita en este libro, y Jehová raerá su nombre de debajo del cielo:
The LORD will not spare him, but then the anger of the LORD and his jealousy shall smoke against that man, and all the curses that are written in this book shall lie upon him, and the LORD shall blot out his name from under heaven.

O Senhor afastará essa pessoa de todas as tribos de Israel e a castigará, segundo as maldições da aliança escritas no livro desta Lei.
Y apartarálo Jehová de todas las tribus de Israel para mal, conforme á todas las maldiciones del pacto escrito en este libro de la ley.

“Os filhos de vocês, as gerações futuras, e os estrangeiros que vierem de terras distantes, verão a devastação da terra e as doenças enviadas a ela pelo Senhor.
Y dirá la generación venidera, vuestros hijos que vendrán después de vosotros, y el extranjero que vendrá de lejanas tierras, cuando vieren las plagas de aquesta tierra, y sus enfermedades de que Jehová la hizo enfermar,
So that the generation to come of your children that shall rise up after you, and the stranger that shall come from a far land, shall say, when they see the plagues of that land, and the sicknesses which the LORD hath laid upon it;
The generation to come—your children who will rise up after you, and the foreigner who will come from a far land—will say, when they see the plagues of that land, and the sicknesses with which the LORD has made it sick,
Toda a sua terra será coberta de enxofre e sal, terra imprestável, onde não se semeará; ela nada produzirá, nem crescerá nela erva alguma. Será como a destruição de Sodoma e Gomorra, de Admá e Zeboim, que o Senhor destruiu na sua ira e no seu furor.
(Azufre y sal, abrasada toda su tierra: no será sembrada, ni producirá, ni crecerá en ella hierba ninguna, como en la subversión de Sodoma y de Gomorra, de Adma y de Seboim, que Jehová subvirtió en su furor y en su ira:)
And that the whole land thereof is brimstone, and salt, and burning, that it is not sown, nor beareth, nor any grass groweth therein, like the overthrow of Sodom, and Gomorrah, Admah, and Zeboim, which the LORD overthrew in his anger, and in his wrath:
that all of its land is sulfur, salt, and burning, that it is not sown, doesn’t produce, nor does any grass grow in it, like the overthrow of Sodom, Gomorrah, Admah, and Zeboiim, which the LORD overthrew in his anger, and in his wrath.
Todas as nações perguntarão: ‘Por que o Senhor fez isso com esta terra? Qual foi a causa de tamanha ira?’.
Dirán, pues, todas las gentes: ¿Por qué hizo Jehová esto á esta tierra? ¿qué ira es ésta de tan gran furor?
Even all nations shall say, Wherefore hath the LORD done thus unto this land? what meaneth the heat of this great anger?
Even all the nations will say, “Why has the LORD done this to this land? What does the heat of this great anger mean?”
“E não faltará quem responda a elas: ‘Foi porque os moradores desta terra abandonaram a aliança do Senhor, o Deus dos seus antepassados, aliança feita com eles quando os tirou da terra do Egito.
Y responderán: Por cuanto dejaron el pacto de Jehová el Dios de sus padres, que él concertó con ellos cuando los sacó de la tierra de Egipto,
Then men shall say, Because they have forsaken the covenant of the LORD God of their fathers, which he made with them when he brought them forth out of the land of Egypt:

Pois eles prestaram culto a outros deuses e se prostraram diante deles, deuses desconhecidos, que o Senhor não lhes tinha dado.
Y fueron y sirvieron á dioses ajenos, é inclináronse á ellos, dioses que no conocían, y que ninguna cosa les habían dado:
For they went and served other gods, and worshipped them, gods whom they knew not, and whom he had not given unto them:
and went and served other gods and worshiped them, gods that they didn’t know and that he had not given to them.
Por isso o Senhor ficou muito irado contra esta terra, de modo que todas as maldições escritas neste livro caíram sobre eles!
Encendióse por tanto, el furor de Jehová contra esta tierra, para traer sobre ella todas las maldiciones escritas en este libro;
And the anger of the LORD was kindled against this land, to bring upon it all the curses that are written in this book:

Com grande ira, indignação e furor, o Senhor arrancou os israelitas da sua terra e os lançou numa outra terra, como hoje se vê’.

“As coisas encobertas pertencem ao Senhor, o nosso Deus, mas as reveladas são para serem conhecidas por nós e por nossos filhos, para que obedeçamos a todas as palavras desta lei para sempre.
Las cosas secretas pertenecen á Jehová nuestro Dios: mas las reveladas son para nosotros y para nuestros hijos por siempre, para que cumplamos todas las palabras de esta ley.
The secret things belong unto the LORD our God: but those things which are revealed belong unto us and to our children for ever, that we may do all the words of this law.
