1“Si escuchares atentamente la voz de Yahvé, tu Dios, observando y practicando sus mandamientos que yo hoy te prescribo, Yahvé, tu Dios, te ensalzará sobre todos los pueblos de la tierra.
2Y vendrán sobre ti y te alcanzarán todas estas bendiciones, con tal que obedezcas la voz de Yahvé, Dios tuyo.
3Bendito serás en la ciudad, y bendito en el campo.
4Será bendito el fruto de tu seno, el fruto de tu tierra, el fruto de tus bestias, las crías de tus vacas y de tus ovejas.
5Benditos serán tu canasto y tu artesa.
6Bendito serás en tu entrada, y bendito en tu salida.
7Yahvé derribará delante de ti a tus enemigos que contra ti se levanten. Saldrán contra ti por un solo camino, y por siete caminos huirán de tu vista.
8Yahvé ordenará a la bendición que venga sobre tus graneros y sobre todas las empresas de tu mano; y te bendecirá en la tierra que Yahvé, tu Dios, va a darte.
9Yahvé te constituirá por pueblo santo suyo, como te ha jurado, si guardas los mandamientos de Yahvé, tu Dios, y andas por sus caminos;
10y todos los pueblos de la tierra verán que el nombre de Yahvé ha sido invocado sobre ti y te temerán.
11Yahvé te dará, para bien tuyo, abundancia del fruto de tu seno, del fruto de tu ganado y del fruto de tu suelo, sobre la tierra que Yahvé juró a tus padres darte.
12Yahvé abrirá su benéfico tesoro, los cielos, para dar a tu tierra la lluvia a tiempo, y para bendecir toda obra de tu mano, de modo que tú prestarás a muchos pueblos sin tomarles prestado.
13Te pondrá Yahvé por cabeza, y no por cola; estarás solamente encima, y jamás debajo, si obedeces los mandamientos de Yahvé, tu Dios, que yo hoy te ordeno para que los guardes y pongas en práctica;
14y si no te apartas de ninguna de las cosas que hoy te prescribo, ni a la derecha, ni a la izquierda, siguiendo a otros dioses para servirles.
15Pero si no escuchares la voz de Yahvé, tu Dios, y si no observas ni practicas todos sus mandamientos y todas sus leyes que hoy te intimo, vendrán sobre ti y te alcanzarán todas estas maldiciones:
16Maldito serás en la ciudad, y maldito en el campo.
17Malditos serán tu canasto y tu artesa.
18Maldito será el fruto de tu seno, el fruto de tu tierra, las crías de tus vacas y las de tus ovejas.
19MaIdito serás en tu entrada, y maldito en tu salida.
20Yahvé enviará sobre ti la maldición, la consternación y la amenaza en todo cuanto emprendas, hasta que seas destruido, y hasta que perezcas en breve, a causa de la maldad de tus obras, por las cuales me has abandonado.
21Yahvé hará que se te pegue la peste, hasta acabar contigo en la tierra adónde vas a entrar para poseerla.
22Yahvé te herirá de consunción, de fiebre, de inflamación, de ardor y de sequía, de tizón y de añublo, que te perseguirán hasta que perezcas.
23Tu cielo sobre tu cabeza será de bronce, y tu tierra bajo tus pies, de hierro.
24En vez de lluvia Yahvé dará a tu tierra polvo y ceniza, que caerán sobre ti desde el cielo hasta que seas destruido.
25Yahvé hará que seas derrotado delante de tus enemigos. Saldrás contra ellos por un solo camino, y por siete caminos huirás delante de ellos y serás objeto de horror para todos los reinos de la tierra.
26Tu cadáver servirá de pasto a todas las aves del cielo y a las bestias de la tierra, y no habrá quien las espante.
27Yahvé te herirá con la úlcera de Egipto, con hemorroides, con sarna y tina, de que no podrás curarte.
28Yahvé te herirá con locura, con ceguera y con turbación de espíritu.
29Andarás a tientas en pleno día como anda palpando el ciego en las tinieblas. No tendrás éxito en tus caminos, sino que todos los días serás oprimido y despojado sin que haya quien te libre.
30Te desposarás con una mujer, y otro la poseerá; edificarás una casa, y no habitarás en ella; plantarás una viña y no la disfrutarás.
31Tu buey será degollado delante de tus ojos, y tú no comerás de él; tu asno será robado en tu presencia, y no te será restituido; tus ovejas caerán en manos de tus enemigos, sin que haya quien las libre.
32Tus hijos y tus hijas serán dados a otro pueblo, y viéndolo tus ojos desfallecerán por ellos todo el día, y tu mano no podrá hacer nada.
33El fruto de tu tierra y todo el producto de tu trabajo, lo comerá un pueblo que tú no conoces; siempre serás oprimido y maltratado.
34Te volverás loco a causa de lo que verán tus ojos.
35Yahvé te herirá con úlceras malignas en las rodillas y en las piernas, y no podrás curarte desde la planta del pie hasta la coronilla de la cabeza.
36Yahvé te transportará a ti y al rey que pongas sobre ti, a un pueblo desconocido de ti y de tus padres; y allá servirás a otros dioses, a leño y piedra.
37Y vendrás a ser un objeto de espanto, de proverbio y de befa entre todos los pueblos adonde Yahvé te llevará.
38Echarás mucha semilla en el campo, y recogerás poco, porque lo devorará la langosta.
39Plantarás viñas y las labrarás, pero no beberás vino ni vendimiarás, porque lo comerá el gusano.
40Tendrás olivos en todos tus términos, mas no te ungirás con aceite, pues tus aceitunas se caerán.
41Engendrarás hijos e hijas, pero no serán para ti, porque irán al cautiverio.
42Todos tus árboles y los frutos de tu tierra serán consumidos por los insectos.
43El extranjero que habita en medio de ti se elevará cada vez más sobre ti, en tanto que tú caerás cada vez más abajo.
44Él te prestará a ti, mas tú no le prestarás a él; él será cabeza, y tú serás cola.
45Todas estas maldiciones vendrán sobre ti, te perseguirán y te alcanzarán hasta que seas destruido, por no haber escuchado la voz de Yahvé, tu Dios, ni guardado sus mandamientos y leyes que Él te ha prescrito;
46y quedarán en ti, como señal y portento, y también en tu descendencia, para siempre.
47Por cuanto no serviste a Yahvé, tu Dios, con alegría y buen corazón a pesar de que abundaba todo,
48servirás a tus enemigos que Yahvé enviará contra ti, en hambre, en sed, en desnudez y todo género de miserias. Él pondrá sobre tu cuello un yugo de hierro, hasta aniquilarte.
49Yahvé hará venir contra ti, desde lejos, desde los cabos de la tierra, con la rapidez del águila, una nación cuya lengua no entiendes,
50gente de aspecto feroz, que no tendrá respeto al anciano ni compasión del niño.
51Devorará el fruto de tu ganado y el fruto de tu tierra, hasta que seas destruido; pues no te dejará trigo, ni vino, ni aceite, ni las crías de tus vacas y ovejas, hasta exterminarte.
52Te sitiará en todas las ciudades de tu país entero, hasta que caigan tus altas y fuertes murallas en que confiabas; te sitiará en todas tus ciudades, en todo el país que Yahvé, tu Dios, te habrá dado.
53En la angustia y estrechez a que te reducirán tus enemigos, comerás el fruto de tu seno, la carne de tus hijos y de tus hijas que Yahvé, tu Dios, te habrá concedido.
54El hombre más delicado y más regalado de entre vosotros mirará con malos ojos a su hermano, a la mujer de su corazón, y al resto de sus hijos que le queden,
55pues no quiere dar a ninguno de ellos de la carne de sus hijos que él comerá, por no quedarle nada en la angustia y estrechez a que te reducirán tus enemigos en todas tus ciudades.
56La mujer más delicada y más regalada de entre vosotros, que por ternura y delicadeza nunca probó poner la planta de su pie en el suelo, mirará con malos ojos al marido de su corazón, a su hijo y a su hija,
57a las secundinas salidas de su seno y a los hijos que habrá dado a luz, pues, por falta de todo, los comerá ocultamente, en la angustia y en la estrechez a que te reducirán tus enemigos en tus ciudades.
58Si no cuidas de poner en práctica todas las palabras de esta Ley, escritas en este libro, y si no temes este nombre glorioso y terrible de Yahvé, tu Dios,
59acrecentará Yahvé extraordinariamente las plagas contra ti y tu posteridad, plagas grandes y duraderas, enfermedades malignas y continuas.
60Hará venir de nuevo sobre ti todas las plagas de Egipto que tanto te horrorizaron, y se te pegarán.
61Yahvé hará venir sobre ti también todas las enfermedades y todas las plagas que no están escritas en el libro de esta Ley, hasta que seas destruido.
62Y después de haber sido numerosos como las estrellas del cielo, quedaréis muy pocos en número, por cuanto no has escuchado la voz de Yahvé, tu Dios.
63Y así como Yahvé tenía placer en vosotros para haceros bien y para multiplicaros, de la misma manera tendrá placer en aniquilaros y destruiros. Y seréis arrancados de la tierra adonde tú vas para poseerla.
64Te esparcirá Yahvé por entre todos los pueblos, de un cabo de la tierra hasta el otro cabo de la tierra; y allí servirás a otros dioses que ni tú ni tus padres conocisteis, a leño y piedra.
65Y entre esos pueblos no encontrarás reposo ni descanso para la planta de tu pie; pues allí te dará Yahvé un corazón tembloroso, ojos decaídos y un alma abatida.
66Tu vida estará ante ti como pendiente de un hilo, tendrás miedo de noche y de día, y no confiarás de tu vida.
67A la mañana dirás: ¡Ojalá que fuera la tarde!, y a la tarde dirás: ¡Ojalá que fuera la mañana!, a causa del miedo que agita tu corazón y a causa de lo que tus ojos verán.
68Y Yahvé te volverá a llevar en navíos a Egipto, por el camino del cual te dijo: No volverás más a verlo; y allí os ofreceréis en venta a vuestros enemigos, por esclavos y esclavas, y no habrá quien os compre.”

1Y SERÁ que, si oyeres diligente la voz de Jehová tu Dios, para guardar, para poner por obra todos sus mandamientos que yo te prescribo hoy, también Jehová tu Dios te pondrá alto sobre todas las gentes de la tierra;
2Y vendrán sobre ti todas estas bendiciones, y te alcanzarán, cuando oyeres la voz de Jehová tu Dios.
3Bendito serás tú en la ciudad, y bendito tú en el campo.
4Bendito el fruto de tu vientre, y el fruto de tu bestia, la cría de tus vacas, y los rebaños de tus ovejas.
5Bendito tu canastillo y tus sobras.
6Bendito serás en tu entrar, y bendito en tu salir.
7Pondrá Jehová á tus enemigos que se levantaren contra ti, de rota batida delante de ti: por un camino saldrán á ti, por siete caminos huirán delante de ti.
8Enviará Jehová contigo la bendición en tus graneros, y en todo aquello en que pusieres tu mano; y te bendecirá en la tierra que Jehová tu Dios te da.
9Confirmarte ha Jehová por pueblo suyo santo, como te ha jurado, cuando guardares los mandamientos de Jehová tu Dios, y anduvieres en sus caminos.
10Y verán todos los pueblos de la tierra que el nombre de Jehová es llamado sobre ti, y te temerán.
11Y te hará Jehová sobreabundar en bienes, en el fruto de tu vientre, y en el fruto de tu bestia, y en el fruto de tu tierra, en el país que juró Jehová á tus padres que te había de dar.
12Abrirte ha Jehová su buen depósito, el cielo, para dar lluvia á tu tierra en su tiempo, y para bendecir toda obra de tus manos. Y prestarás á muchas gentes, y tú no tomarás emprestado.
13Y te pondrá Jehová por cabeza, y no por cola: y estarás encima solamente, y no estarás debajo; cuando obedecieres á los mandamientos de Jehová tu Dios, que yo te ordeno hoy, para que los guardes y cumplas.
14Y no te apartes de todas las palabras que yo os mando hoy, ni á diestra ni á siniestra, para ir tras dioses ajenos para servirles.
15Y será, si no oyeres la voz de Jehová tu Dios, para cuidar de poner por obra todos sus mandamientos y sus estatutos, que yo te intimo hoy, que vendrán sobre ti todas estas maldiciones, y te alcanzarán.
16Maldito serás tu en la ciudad, y maldito en el campo.
17Maldito tu canastillo, y tus sobras.
18Maldito el fruto de tu vientre, y el fruto de tu tierra, y la cría de tus vacas, y los rebaños de tus ovejas.
19Maldito serás en tu entrar, y maldito en tu salir.
20Y Jehová enviará contra ti la maldición, quebranto y asombro en todo cuanto pusieres mano é hicieres, hasta que seas destruído, y perezcas presto á causa de la maldad de tus obras, por las cuales me habrás dejado.
21Jehová hará que se te pegue mortandad, hasta que te consuma de la tierra á la cual entras para poseerla.
22Jehová te herirá de tisis, y de fiebre, y de ardor, y de calor, y de cuchillo, y de calamidad repentina, y con añublo; y perseguirte han hasta que perezcas.
23Y tus cielos que están sobre tu cabeza, serán de metal; y la tierra que está debajo de ti, de hierro.
24Dará Jehová por lluvia á tu tierra polvo y ceniza: de los cielos descenderán sobre ti hasta que perezcas.
25Jehová te entregará herido delante de tus enemigos: por un camino saldrás á ellos, y por siete caminos huirás delante de ellos: y serás sacudido á todos los reinos de la tierra.
26Y será tu cuerpo muerto por comida á toda ave del cielo y bestia de la tierra, y no habrá quien las espante.
27Jehová te herirá de la plaga de Egipto, y con almorranas, y con sarna, y con comezón, de que no puedas ser curado.
28Jehová te herirá con locura, y con ceguedad, y con pasmo de corazón.
29Y palparás al mediodía, como palpa el ciego en la oscuridad, y no serás prosperado en tus caminos: y nunca serás sino oprimido y robado todos los días, y no habrá quien te salve.
30Te desposarás con mujer, y otro varón dormirá con ella; edificarás casa, y no habitarás en ella; plantarás viña, y no la vendimiarás.
31Tu buey será matado delante de tus ojos, y tú no comerás de él; tu asno será arrebatado de delante de ti, y no se te volverá; tus ovejas serán dadas á tus enemigos, y no tendrás quien te las rescate.
32Tus hijos y tus hijas serán entregados á otro pueblo, y tus ojos lo verán, y desfallecerán por ellos todo el día: y no habrá fuerza en tu mano.
33El fruto de tu tierra y todo tu trabajo comerá pueblo que no conociste; y nunca serás sino oprimido y quebrantado todos los días.
34Y enloquecerás á causa de lo que verás con tus ojos.
35Herirte ha Jehová con maligna pústula en las rodillas y en las piernas, sin que puedas ser curado: aun desde la planta de tu pie hasta tu mollera.
36Jehová llevará á ti, y á tu rey que hubieres puesto sobre ti, á gente que no conociste tú ni tus padres; y allá servirás á dioses ajenos, al palo y á la piedra.
37Y serás por pasmo, por ejemplo y por fábula, á todos los pueblos á los cuales te llevará Jehová.
38Sacarás mucha simiente al campo, y cogerás poco; porque la langosta lo consumirá.
39Plantarás viñas y labrarás, mas no beberás vino, ni cogerás uvas; porque el gusano las comerá.
40Tendrás olivas en todo tu término, mas no te ungirás con el aceite; porque tu aceituna se caerá.
41Hijos é hijas engendrarás, y no serán para ti; porque irán en cautiverio.
42Toda tu arboleda y el fruto de tu tierra consumirá la langosta.
43El extranjero que estará en medio de ti subirá sobre ti muy alto, y tú serás puesto muy bajo.
44El te prestará á ti, y tú no prestarás á él: él será por cabeza, y tú serás por cola.
45Y vendrán sobre ti todas estas maldiciones, y te perseguirán, y te alcanzarán hasta que perezcas; por cuanto no habrás atendido á la voz de Jehová tu Dios, para guardar sus mandamientos y sus estatutos, que él te mandó:
46Y serán en ti por señal y por maravilla, y en tu simiente para siempre.
47Por cuanto no serviste á Jehová tu Dios con alegría y con gozo de corazón, por la abundancia de todas las cosas;
48Servirás por tanto á tus enemigos que enviare Jehová contra ti, con hambre y con sed y con desnudez, y con falta de todas las cosas; y él pondrá yugo de hierro sobre tu cuello, hasta destruirte.
49Jehová traerá sobre ti gente de lejos, del cabo de la tierra, que vuele como águila, gente cuya lengua no entiendas;
50Gente fiera de rostro, que no tendrá respeto al anciano, ni perdonará al niño:
51Y comerá el fruto de tu bestia y el fruto de tu tierra, hasta que perezcas: y no te dejará grano, ni mosto, ni aceite, ni la cría de tus vacas, ni los rebaños de tus ovejas, hasta destruirte.
52Y te pondrá cerco en todas tus ciudades, hasta que caigan tus muros altos y encastillados en que tú confías, en toda tu tierra: te cercará, pues, en todas tus ciudades y en toda tu tierra, que Jehová tu Dios te habrá dado.
53Y comerás el fruto de tu vientre, la carne de tus hijos y de tus hijas que Jehová tu Dios te dió, en el cerco y en el apuro con que te angustiará tu enemigo.
54El hombre tierno en ti, y el muy delicado, su ojo será maligno para con su hermano, y para con la mujer de su seno, y para con el resto de sus hijos que le quedaren;
55Para no dar á alguno de ellos de la carne de sus hijos, que él comerá, porque nada le habrá quedado, en el cerco y en el apuro con que tu enemigo te oprimirá en todas tus ciudades.
56La tierna y la delicada entre vosotros, que nunca la planta de su pie probó á sentar sobre la tierra, de ternura y delicadeza, su ojo será maligno para con el marido de su seno, y para con su hijo, y para con su hija,
57Y para con su chiquita que sale de entre sus pies, y para con sus hijos que pariere; pues los comerá escondidamente, á falta de todo, en el cerco y en el apuro con que tu enemigo te oprimirá en tus ciudades.
58Si no cuidares de poner por obra todas las palabras de aquesta ley que están escritas en este libro, temiendo este nombre glorioso y terrible, JEHOVÁ TU DIOS,
59Jehová aumentará maravillosamente tus plagas y las plagas de tu simiente, plagas grandes y estables, y enfermedades malignas y duraderas;
60Y hará volver sobre ti todos los males de Egipto, delante de los cuales temiste, y se te pegarán.
61Asimismo toda enfermedad y toda plaga que no está escrita en el libro de esta ley, Jehová la enviará sobre ti, hasta que tú seas destruído.
62Y quedaréis en poca gente, en lugar de haber sido como las estrellas del cielo en multitud; por cuanto no obedeciste á la voz de Jehová tu Dios.
63Y será que como Jehová se gozó sobre vosotros para haceros bien, y para multiplicaros, así se gozará Jehová sobre vosotros para arruinaros, y para destruiros; y seréis arrancados de sobre la tierra, á la cual entráis para poseerla.
64Y Jehová te esparcirá por todos los pueblos, desde el un cabo de la tierra hasta el otro cabo de ella; y allí servirás á dioses ajenos que no conociste tú ni tus padres, al leño y á la piedra.
65Y ni aun entre las mismas gentes descansarás, ni la planta de tu pie tendrá reposo; que allí te dará Jehová corazón temeroso, y caimiento de ojos, y tristeza de alma:
66Y tendrás tu vida como colgada delante de ti, y estarás temeroso de noche y de día, y no confiarás de tu vida.
67Por la mañana dirás: ¡Quién diera fuese la tarde! y á la tarde dirás: ¡Quién diera fuese la mañana! por el miedo de tu corazón con que estarás amedrentado, y por lo que verán tus ojos.
68Y Jehová te hará tornar á Egipto en navíos por el camino del cual te ha dicho: Nunca más volveréis: y allí seréis vendidos á vuestros enemigos por esclavos y por esclavas, y no habrá quien os compre.

1And it shall come to pass, if thou shalt hearken diligently unto the voice of the LORD thy God, to observe and to do all his commandments which I command thee this day, that the LORD thy God will set thee on high above all nations of the earth:
2And all these blessings shall come on thee, and overtake thee, if thou shalt hearken unto the voice of the LORD thy God.
3Blessed shalt thou be in the city, and blessed shalt thou be in the field.
4Blessed shall be the fruit of thy body, and the fruit of thy ground, and the fruit of thy cattle, the increase of thy kine, and the flocks of thy sheep.
5Blessed shall be thy basket and thy store.
6Blessed shalt thou be when thou comest in, and blessed shalt thou be when thou goest out.
7The LORD shall cause thine enemies that rise up against thee to be smitten before thy face: they shall come out against thee one way, and flee before thee seven ways.
8The LORD shall command the blessing upon thee in thy storehouses, and in all that thou settest thine hand unto; and he shall bless thee in the land which the LORD thy God giveth thee.
9The LORD shall establish thee an holy people unto himself, as he hath sworn unto thee, if thou shalt keep the commandments of the LORD thy God, and walk in his ways.
10And all people of the earth shall see that thou art called by the name of the LORD; and they shall be afraid of thee.
11And the LORD shall make thee plenteous in goods, in the fruit of thy body, and in the fruit of thy cattle, and in the fruit of thy ground, in the land which the LORD sware unto thy fathers to give thee.
12The LORD shall open unto thee his good treasure, the heaven to give the rain unto thy land in his season, and to bless all the work of thine hand: and thou shalt lend unto many nations, and thou shalt not borrow.
13And the LORD shall make thee the head, and not the tail; and thou shalt be above only, and thou shalt not be beneath; if that thou hearken unto the commandments of the LORD thy God, which I command thee this day, to observe and to do them:
14And thou shalt not go aside from any of the words which I command thee this day, to the right hand, or to the left, to go after other gods to serve them.
15But it shall come to pass, if thou wilt not hearken unto the voice of the LORD thy God, to observe to do all his commandments and his statutes which I command thee this day; that all these curses shall come upon thee, and overtake thee:
16Cursed shalt thou be in the city, and cursed shalt thou be in the field.
17Cursed shall be thy basket and thy store.
18Cursed shall be the fruit of thy body, and the fruit of thy land, the increase of thy kine, and the flocks of thy sheep.
19Cursed shalt thou be when thou comest in, and cursed shalt thou be when thou goest out.
20The LORD shall send upon thee cursing, vexation, and rebuke, in all that thou settest thine hand unto for to do, until thou be destroyed, and until thou perish quickly; because of the wickedness of thy doings, whereby thou hast forsaken me.
21The LORD shall make the pestilence cleave unto thee, until he have consumed thee from off the land, whither thou goest to possess it.
22The LORD shall smite thee with a consumption, and with a fever, and with an inflammation, and with an extreme burning, and with the sword, and with blasting, and with mildew; and they shall pursue thee until thou perish.
23And thy heaven that is over thy head shall be brass, and the earth that is under thee shall be iron.
24The LORD shall make the rain of thy land powder and dust: from heaven shall it come down upon thee, until thou be destroyed.
25The LORD shall cause thee to be smitten before thine enemies: thou shalt go out one way against them, and flee seven ways before them: and shalt be removed into all the kingdoms of the earth.
26And thy carcase shall be meat unto all fowls of the air, and unto the beasts of the earth, and no man shall fray them away.
27The LORD will smite thee with the botch of Egypt, and with the emerods, and with the scab, and with the itch, whereof thou canst not be healed.
28The LORD shall smite thee with madness, and blindness, and astonishment of heart:
29And thou shalt grope at noonday, as the blind gropeth in darkness, and thou shalt not prosper in thy ways: and thou shalt be only oppressed and spoiled evermore, and no man shall save thee.
30Thou shalt betroth a wife, and another man shall lie with her: thou shalt build an house, and thou shalt not dwell therein: thou shalt plant a vineyard, and shalt not gather the grapes thereof.
31Thine ox shall be slain before thine eyes, and thou shalt not eat thereof: thine ass shall be violently taken away from before thy face, and shall not be restored to thee: thy sheep shall be given unto thine enemies, and thou shalt have none to rescue them.
32Thy sons and thy daughters shall be given unto another people, and thine eyes shall look, and fail with longing for them all the day long: and there shall be no might in thine hand.
33The fruit of thy land, and all thy labours, shall a nation which thou knowest not eat up; and thou shalt be only oppressed and crushed alway:
34So that thou shalt be mad for the sight of thine eyes which thou shalt see.
35The LORD shall smite thee in the knees, and in the legs, with a sore botch that cannot be healed, from the sole of thy foot unto the top of thy head.
36The LORD shall bring thee, and thy king which thou shalt set over thee, unto a nation which neither thou nor thy fathers have known; and there shalt thou serve other gods, wood and stone.
37And thou shalt become an astonishment, a proverb, and a byword, among all nations whither the LORD shall lead thee.
38Thou shalt carry much seed out into the field, and shalt gather but little in; for the locust shall consume it.
39Thou shalt plant vineyards, and dress them, but shalt neither drink of the wine, nor gather the grapes; for the worms shall eat them.
40Thou shalt have olive trees throughout all thy coasts, but thou shalt not anoint thyself with the oil; for thine olive shall cast his fruit.
41Thou shalt beget sons and daughters, but thou shalt not enjoy them; for they shall go into captivity.
42All thy trees and fruit of thy land shall the locust consume.
43The stranger that is within thee shall get up above thee very high; and thou shalt come down very low.
44He shall lend to thee, and thou shalt not lend to him: he shall be the head, and thou shalt be the tail.
45Moreover all these curses shall come upon thee, and shall pursue thee, and overtake thee, till thou be destroyed; because thou hearkenedst not unto the voice of the LORD thy God, to keep his commandments and his statutes which he commanded thee:
46And they shall be upon thee for a sign and for a wonder, and upon thy seed for ever.
47Because thou servedst not the LORD thy God with joyfulness, and with gladness of heart, for the abundance of all things;
48Therefore shalt thou serve thine enemies which the LORD shall send against thee, in hunger, and in thirst, and in nakedness, and in want of all things: and he shall put a yoke of iron upon thy neck, until he have destroyed thee.
49The LORD shall bring a nation against thee from far, from the end of the earth, as swift as the eagle flieth; a nation whose tongue thou shalt not understand;
50A nation of fierce countenance, which shall not regard the person of the old, nor shew favour to the young:
51And he shall eat the fruit of thy cattle, and the fruit of thy land, until thou be destroyed: which also shall not leave thee either corn, wine, or oil, or the increase of thy kine, or flocks of thy sheep, until he have destroyed thee.
52And he shall besiege thee in all thy gates, until thy high and fenced walls come down, wherein thou trustedst, throughout all thy land: and he shall besiege thee in all thy gates throughout all thy land, which the LORD thy God hath given thee.
53And thou shalt eat the fruit of thine own body, the flesh of thy sons and of thy daughters, which the LORD thy God hath given thee, in the siege, and in the straitness, wherewith thine enemies shall distress thee:
54So that the man that is tender among you, and very delicate, his eye shall be evil toward his brother, and toward the wife of his bosom, and toward the remnant of his children which he shall leave:
55So that he will not give to any of them of the flesh of his children whom he shall eat: because he hath nothing left him in the siege, and in the straitness, wherewith thine enemies shall distress thee in all thy gates.
56The tender and delicate woman among you, which would not adventure to set the sole of her foot upon the ground for delicateness and tenderness, her eye shall be evil toward the husband of her bosom, and toward her son, and toward her daughter,
57And toward her young one that cometh out from between her feet, and toward her children which she shall bear: for she shall eat them for want of all things secretly in the siege and straitness, wherewith thine enemy shall distress thee in thy gates.
58If thou wilt not observe to do all the words of this law that are written in this book, that thou mayest fear this glorious and fearful name, THE LORD THY GOD;
59Then the LORD will make thy plagues wonderful, and the plagues of thy seed, even great plagues, and of long continuance, and sore sicknesses, and of long continuance.
60Moreover he will bring upon thee all the diseases of Egypt, which thou wast afraid of; and they shall cleave unto thee.
61Also every sickness, and every plague, which is not written in the book of this law, them will the LORD bring upon thee, until thou be destroyed.
62And ye shall be left few in number, whereas ye were as the stars of heaven for multitude; because thou wouldest not obey the voice of the LORD thy God.
63And it shall come to pass, that as the LORD rejoiced over you to do you good, and to multiply you; so the LORD will rejoice over you to destroy you, and to bring you to nought; and ye shall be plucked from off the land whither thou goest to possess it.
64And the LORD shall scatter thee among all people, from the one end of the earth even unto the other; and there thou shalt serve other gods, which neither thou nor thy fathers have known, even wood and stone.
65And among these nations shalt thou find no ease, neither shall the sole of thy foot have rest: but the LORD shall give thee there a trembling heart, and failing of eyes, and sorrow of mind:
66And thy life shall hang in doubt before thee; and thou shalt fear day and night, and shalt have none assurance of thy life:
67In the morning thou shalt say, Would God it were even! and at even thou shalt say, Would God it were morning! for the fear of thine heart wherewith thou shalt fear, and for the sight of thine eyes which thou shalt see.
68And the LORD shall bring thee into Egypt again with ships, by the way whereof I spake unto thee, Thou shalt see it no more again: and there ye shall be sold unto your enemies for bondmen and bondwomen, and no man shall buy you.

1It shall happen, if you shall listen diligently to the LORD your God’s voice, to observe to do all his commandments which I command you today, that the LORD your God will set you high above all the nations of the earth.
2All these blessings will come upon you, and overtake you, if you listen to the LORD your God’s voice.
3You shall be blessed in the city, and you shall be blessed in the field.
4You shall be blessed in the fruit of your body, the fruit of your ground, the fruit of your animals, the increase of your livestock, and the young of your flock.
5Your basket and your kneading trough shall be blessed.
6You shall be blessed when you come in, and you shall be blessed when you go out.
7The LORD will cause your enemies who rise up against you to be struck before you. They will come out against you one way, and will flee before you seven ways.
8The LORD will command the blessing on you in your barns, and in all that you put your hand to. He will bless you in the land which the LORD your God gives you.
9The LORD will establish you for a holy people to himself, as he has sworn to you, if you shall keep the commandments of the LORD your God, and walk in his ways.
10All the peoples of the earth shall see that you are called by the LORD’s name, and they will be afraid of you.
11The LORD will grant you abundant prosperity in the fruit of your body, in the fruit of your livestock, and in the fruit of your ground, in the land which the LORD swore to your fathers to give you.
12The LORD will open to you his good treasure in the sky, to give the rain of your land in its season, and to bless all the work of your hand. You will lend to many nations, and you will not borrow.
13The LORD will make you the head, and not the tail. You will be above only, and you will not be beneath, if you listen to the commandments of the LORD your God which I command you today, to observe and to do,
14and shall not turn away from any of the words which I command you today, to the right hand or to the left, to go after other gods to serve them.
15But it shall come to pass, if you will not listen to the LORD your God’s voice, to observe to do all his commandments and his statutes which I command you today, that all these curses will come on you and overtake you.
16You will be cursed in the city, and you will be cursed in the field.

21The LORD will make the pestilence cling to you, until he has consumed you from off the land where you go in to possess it.
22The LORD will strike you with consumption, with fever, with inflammation, with fiery heat, with the sword, with blight, and with mildew. They will pursue you until you perish.
23Your sky that is over your head will be bronze, and the earth that is under you will be iron.
24The LORD will make the rain of your land powder and dust. It will come down on you from the sky, until you are destroyed.
25The LORD will cause you to be struck before your enemies. You will go out one way against them, and will flee seven ways before them. You will be tossed back and forth among all the kingdoms of the earth.
26Your dead bodies will be food to all birds of the sky, and to the animals of the earth; and there will be no one to frighten them away.
27The LORD will strike you with the boils of Egypt, with the tumors, with the scurvy, and with the itch, of which you can not be healed.
28The LORD will strike you with madness, with blindness, and with astonishment of heart.
29You will grope at noonday, as the blind gropes in darkness, and you shall not prosper in your ways. You will only be oppressed and robbed always, and there will be no one to save you.
30You will betroth a wife, and another man shall lie with her. You will build a house, and you won’t dwell in it. You will plant a vineyard, and not use its fruit.
31Your ox will be slain before your eyes, and you will not eat any of it. Your donkey will be violently taken away from before your face, and will not be restored to you. Your sheep will be given to your enemies, and you will have no one to save you.
32Your sons and your daughters will be given to another people. Your eyes will look and fail with longing for them all day long. There will be no power in your hand.
33A nation which you don’t know will eat the fruit of your ground and all of your work. You will only be oppressed and crushed always,
34so that the sights that you see with your eyes will drive you mad.
35The LORD will strike you in the knees and in the legs with a sore boil, of which you cannot be healed, from the sole of your foot to the crown of your head.
36The LORD will bring you, and your king whom you will set over yourselves, to a nation that you have not known, you nor your fathers. There you will serve other gods of wood and stone.
