1Mose aber und die Vornehmsten in Israel gaben dem Volke folgenden Befehl: Haltet alle die Gebote, die ich euch heute gebe!
2Und wenn ihr über den Jordan hinüber in das Land gezogen seid, das dir Jahwe, dein Gott, verleiht, so richte dir große Steine auf, übertünche sie mit Kalk
3und schreibe darauf alle Worte dieses Gesetzes, sobald du hinübergezogen bist, damit du, wie dir Jahwe, der Gott deiner Väter, verheißen hat, in das Land hineinkommst, das dir Jahwe, dein Gott, verleiht, ein Land, das von Milch und Honig überfließt.
4Sobald ihr den Jordan überschritten habt, sollt ihr diese Steine, gemäß dem, was ich euch heute gebiete, auf dem Berge Ebal aufrichten und mit Kalk übertünchen.
5Auch sollst du dort Jahwe, deinem Gott, einen Altar errichten, und zwar einen Altar aus Steinen, die du nicht mit eisernen Werkzeugen bearbeitet hast,
6- aus unbehauenen Steinen sollst du den Altar Jahwes, deines Gottes, errichten - und sollst Jahwe, deinem Gotte, Brandopfer darauf darbringen
7und Heilsopfer schlachten und sie daseIbst verzehren und vor Jahwe, deinem Gotte, fröhlich sein.
8Auf die Steine aber sollst du alle Worte dieses Gesetzes deutlich und sorgfältig schreiben.
9So sprachen Mose und die levitischen Priester zu ganz Israel also: Sei still und höre zu, Israel! Heute bist du das Volk Jahwes, deines Gottes, geworden;
10so höre denn auf die Stimme Jahwes, deines Gottes, und halte seine Gebote und seine Satzungen, die ich dir heute gebiete.
11An ebendemselben Tage gab Mose dem Volke folgende Anweisung:
12Wenn ihr den Jordan überschritten habt, sollen sich die einen auf dem Berge Gerizim aufstellen, um das Volk zu segnen, nämlich: Simeon, Levi, Juda, Issachar, Joseph und Benjamin;
13die anderen aber sollen sich, um den FIuch auszusprechen, auf dem Berg Ebal aufstellen, nämlich: Ruben, Gad, Asser, Zebulon, Dan und Naphthali.
14Und die Leviten sollen anheben und mit hocherhobener Stimme zu allen Israeliten sprechen:
15Verflucht ist, wer ein Schnitzbild oder Gußbild, ein Machwerk von Künstlerhänden verfertigt, zum Greuel für Jahwe, und es im Geheimen aufstellt! Und das ganze Volk soll antworten und sprechen: So sei es!
16Verflucht ist, wer seinen Vater oder seine Mutter verunehrt! Und das ganze Volk soll sprechen: So sei es!
17Verflucht ist, wer die Grenze seines Nächsten verrückt! Und das ganze Volk soll sprechen: So sei es!
18Verflucht ist, wer einen Blinden irre führt! Und das ganze Volk soll sprechen: So sei es!
19Verflucht ist, wer das Recht von Fremdlingen, Waisen oder Witwen beugt! Und das ganze Volk soll sprechen: So sei es!
20Verflucht ist, wer dem Weibe seines Vaters beiwohnt, denn er hat die Scham seines Vaters aufgedeckt. Und das ganze Volk soll sprechen: So sei es!
21Verflucht ist, wer irgend einem Tiere beiwohnt! Und das ganze Volk soll sprechen: So sei es!
22Verflucht ist, wer seiner Schwester, sie sei nun die Tochter seines Vaters oder seiner Mutter, beiwohnt! Und das ganze Volk soll sprechen: So sei es!
23Verflucht ist, wer seiner Schwägerin beiwohnt! Und das ganze Volk soll sprechen: So sei es!
24Verflucht ist, wer seinen Nächsten heimlich erschlägt! Und das ganze Volk soll sprechen: So sei es!
25Verflucht ist, wer sich dazu dingen läßt, das Blut eines Unschuldigen mörderisch zu vergießen! Und das ganze Volk soll sprechen: So sei es!
26Verflucht ist, wer die Worte dieses Gesetzes nicht in Kraft treten läßt, indem er nicht darnach thut! Und das ganze Volk soll sprechen: So sei es!

1Y MANDÓ Moisés, con los ancianos de Israel, al pueblo, diciendo: Guardaréis todos los mandamientos que yo prescribo hoy.
2Y será que, el día que pasareis el Jordán á la tierra que Jehová tu Dios te da, te has de levantar piedras grandes, las cuales revocarás con cal:
3Y escribirás en ellas todas las palabras de esta ley, cuando hubieres pasado para entrar en la tierra que Jehová tu Dios te da, tierra que fluye leche y miel, como Jehová el Dios de tus padres te ha dicho.
4Será pues, cuando hubieres pasado el Jordán, que levantaréis estas piedras que yo os mando hoy, en el monte de Ebal, y las revocarás con cal:
5Y edificarás allí altar á Jehová tu Dios, altar de piedras: no alzarás sobre ellas hierro.
6De piedras enteras edificarás el altar de Jehová tu Dios; y ofrecerás sobre él holocausto á Jehová tu Dios;
7Y sacrificarás pacíficos, y comerás allí; y alegrarte has delante de Jehová tu Dios.
8Y escribirás en las piedras todas las palabras de esta ley muy claramente.
9Y Moisés, con los sacerdotes Levitas, habló á todo Israel, diciendo: Atiende y escucha, Israel: hoy eres hecho pueblo de Jehová tu Dios.
10Oirás pues la voz de Jehová tu Dios, y cumplirás sus mandamientos y sus estatutos, que yo te ordeno hoy.
11Y mandó Moisés al pueblo en aquel día, diciendo:
12Estos estarán sobre el monte de Gerizim para bendecir al pueblo, cuando hubiereis pasado el Jordán: Simeón, y Leví, y Judá, é Issachâr, y José, y Benjamín.
13Y estos estarán para pronunciar la maldición en el de Ebal: Rubén, Gad, y Aser, y Zabulón, Dan, y Nephtalí.
14Y hablarán los Levitas, y dirán á todo varón de Israel en alta voz:
15Maldito el hombre que hiciere escultura ó imagen de fundición, abominación á Jehová, obra de mano de artífice, y la pusiere en oculto. Y todo el pueblo responderá y dirá: Amén.
16Maldito el que deshonrare á su padre ó á su madre. Y dirá todo el pueblo: Amén.
17Maldito el que redujere el término de su prójimo. Y dirá todo el pueblo: Amén.
18Maldito el que hiciere errar al ciego en el camino. Y dirá todo el pueblo: Amén.
19Maldito el que torciere el derecho del extranjero, del huérfano, y de la viuda. Y dirá todo el pueblo: Amén.
20Maldito el que se echare con la mujer de su padre; por cuanto descubrió el regazo de su padre. Y dirá todo el pueblo: Amén.
21Maldito el que tuviere parte con cualquiera bestia. Y dirá todo el pueblo: Amén.
22Maldito el que se echare con su hermana, hija de su padre, ó hija de su madre. Y dirá todo el pueblo: Amén.
23Maldito el que se echare con su suegra. Y dirá todo el pueblo: Amén.
24Maldito el que hiriere á su prójimo ocultamente. Y dirá todo el pueblo: Amén.
25Maldito el que recibiere don para herir de muerte al inocente. Y dirá todo el pueblo: Amén.
26Maldito el que no confirmare las palabras de esta ley para cumplirlas. Y dirá todo el pueblo: Amén.

1And Moses with the elders of Israel commanded the people, saying, Keep all the commandments which I command you this day.
2And it shall be on the day when ye shall pass over Jordan unto the land which the LORD thy God giveth thee, that thou shalt set thee up great stones, and plaister them with plaister:
3And thou shalt write upon them all the words of this law, when thou art passed over, that thou mayest go in unto the land which the LORD thy God giveth thee, a land that floweth with milk and honey; as the LORD God of thy fathers hath promised thee.
4Therefore it shall be when ye be gone over Jordan, that ye shall set up these stones, which I command you this day, in mount Ebal, and thou shalt plaister them with plaister.
5And there shalt thou build an altar unto the LORD thy God, an altar of stones: thou shalt not lift up any iron tool upon them.
6Thou shalt build the altar of the LORD thy God of whole stones: and thou shalt offer burnt offerings thereon unto the LORD thy God:
7And thou shalt offer peace offerings, and shalt eat there, and rejoice before the LORD thy God.
8And thou shalt write upon the stones all the words of this law very plainly.
9And Moses and the priests the Levites spake unto all Israel, saying, Take heed, and hearken, O Israel; this day thou art become the people of the LORD thy God.
10Thou shalt therefore obey the voice of the LORD thy God, and do his commandments and his statutes, which I command thee this day.
11And Moses charged the people the same day, saying,
12These shall stand upon mount Gerizim to bless the people, when ye are come over Jordan; Simeon, and Levi, and Judah, and Issachar, and Joseph, and Benjamin:
13And these shall stand upon mount Ebal to curse; Reuben, Gad, and Asher, and Zebulun, Dan, and Naphtali.
14And the Levites shall speak, and say unto all the men of Israel with a loud voice,
15Cursed be the man that maketh any graven or molten image, an abomination unto the LORD, the work of the hands of the craftsman, and putteth it in a secret place. And all the people shall answer and say, Amen.
16Cursed be he that setteth light by his father or his mother. And all the people shall say, Amen.
17Cursed be he that removeth his neighbour’s landmark. And all the people shall say, Amen.
18Cursed be he that maketh the blind to wander out of the way. And all the people shall say, Amen.
19Cursed be he that perverteth the judgment of the stranger, fatherless, and widow. And all the people shall say, Amen.
20Cursed be he that lieth with his father’s wife; because he uncovereth his father’s skirt. And all the people shall say, Amen.
21Cursed be he that lieth with any manner of beast. And all the people shall say, Amen.
22Cursed be he that lieth with his sister, the daughter of his father, or the daughter of his mother. And all the people shall say, Amen.
23Cursed be he that lieth with his mother in law. And all the people shall say, Amen.
24Cursed be he that smiteth his neighbour secretly. And all the people shall say, Amen.
25Cursed be he that taketh reward to slay an innocent person. And all the people shall say, Amen.
26Cursed be he that confirmeth not all the words of this law to do them. And all the people shall say, Amen.

1Moses and the elders of Israel commanded the people, saying, “Keep all the commandment which I command you today.
2It shall be on the day when you shall pass over the Jordan to the land which the LORD your God gives you, that you shall set yourself up great stones, and coat them with plaster.
3You shall write on them all the words of this law, when you have passed over, that you may go in to the land which the LORD your God gives you, a land flowing with milk and honey, as the LORD, the God of your fathers, has promised you.
4It shall be, when you have crossed over the Jordan, that you shall set up these stones, which I command you today, on Mount Ebal, and you shall coat them with plaster.
5There you shall build an altar to the LORD your God, an altar of stones. You shall not use any iron tool on them.
6You shall build the LORD your God’s altar of uncut stones. You shall offer burnt offerings on it to the LORD your God.
7You shall sacrifice peace offerings, and shall eat there. You shall rejoice before the LORD your God.
8You shall write on the stones all the words of this law very plainly.”
9Moses and the Levitical priests spoke to all Israel, saying, “Be silent and listen, Israel! Today you have become the people of the LORD your God.
10You shall therefore obey the LORD your God’s voice, and do his commandments and his statutes, which I command you today.”
11Moses commanded the people the same day, saying,
12“These shall stand on Mount Gerizim to bless the people, when you have crossed over the Jordan: Simeon, Levi, Judah, Issachar, Joseph, and Benjamin.
13These shall stand on Mount Ebal for the curse: Reuben, Gad, Asher, Zebulun, Dan, and Naphtali.
14With a loud voice, the Levites shall say to all the men of Israel,
15‘Cursed is the man who makes an engraved or molten image, an abomination to the LORD, the work of the hands of the craftsman, and sets it up in secret.’ All the people shall answer and say, ‘Amen.’
16‘Cursed is he who dishonors his father or his mother.’ All the people shall say, ‘Amen.’
17‘Cursed is he who removes his neighbor’s landmark.’ All the people shall say, ‘Amen.’
18‘Cursed is he who leads the blind astray on the road.’ All the people shall say, ‘Amen.’
19‘Cursed is he who withholds justice from the foreigner, fatherless, and widow.’ All the people shall say, ‘Amen.’
20‘Cursed is he who lies with his father’s wife, because he dishonors his father’s bed.’ All the people shall say, ‘Amen.’
21‘Cursed is he who lies with any kind of animal.’ All the people shall say, ‘Amen.’
22‘Cursed is he who lies with his sister, his father’s daughter or his mother’s daughter.’ All the people shall say, ‘Amen.’
23‘Cursed is he who lies with his mother-in-law.’ All the people shall say, ‘Amen.’
24‘Cursed is he who secretly kills his neighbor.’ All the people shall say, ‘Amen.’
25‘Cursed is he who takes a bribe to kill an innocent person.’ All the people shall say, ‘Amen.’
26‘Cursed is he who doesn’t uphold the words of this law by doing them.’ All the people shall say, ‘Amen.’”
