Deuteronomio 25

1“When a legal dispute ⌞takes place⌟ between men and they come near to the court, and the judges judge with respect to them, then they shall declare the righteous to be in the right and they shall condemn the wicked,
2then it will happen if the guilty one ⌞deserves beating⌟, then the judge shall make him lie, and he shall beat him ⌞before him⌟, ⌞according to⌟ ⌞the prescribed number of lashes proportionate to the offense⌟.
3He may beat him with forty lashes, and he shall not do more than these, so that he will not beat more in addition to these many blows, and your countryman would be degraded before your eyes.
4“You shall not muzzle an ox ⌞when he is threshing⌟.
5“When brothers dwell together and one of them dies and has no son, the wife of the deceased shall not become the wife of a ⌞man of another family⌟; her brother-in-law ⌞shall have sex with her⌟, and he shall take her ⌞to himself⌟ as a wife, and he shall perform his duty as a brother-in-law with respect to her.
6And then the firstborn that she bears ⌞shall represent his dead brother⌟, so that his name is not blotted out from Israel.
7But if the man does not want to take his sister-in-law, then his sister-in-law shall go up to the gate, to the elders, and she shall say, ‘My brother-in-law refused ⌞to perpetuate his brother’s name⌟ in Israel, for he is not willing ⌞to marry me⌟.’
8Then the elders of his town shall summon him and speak to him, and if he persists and says, ‘⌞I do not desire to⌟ marry her’
9then his sister-in-law shall go near him before the eyes of the elders, and she shall pull off his sandal from his foot, and she shall spit in his face, and she shall ⌞declare⌟ and she shall say, ‘This is how it is done to the man who does not build the house of his brother.’
10And his ⌞family⌟ shall be called in Israel, ‘The house where the sandal was pulled off.’
11“If a man and his brother fight each other and the wife of the one man comes near to rescue her husband from the hand of his attacker and she stretches out her hand and she seizes his genitals,
12then you shall cut off her hand; your eye shall not take pity.
13“There shall not be ⌞for your use⌟ in your bag ⌞two kinds of stone weights, a large one and a small one⌟.
14There shall not be in your house ⌞for your use⌟ ⌞two kinds of measures⌟.
15Rather a full and honest weight shall be ⌞for your use⌟; there shall be for you a full and honest ⌞measure⌟, so that your days on the land that Yahweh your God is giving to you may be long.
16For detestable to Yahweh your God is everyone who is doing such things, everyone who is acting dishonestly.
17“Remember what Amalek did to you on the journey when you went out from Egypt,
18that he met you on the journey and attacked you, all those lagging behind you and when you were weary and worn out, and he did not fear God.
19⌞And when⌟ Yahweh your God gives rest to you from all your enemies from around about you in the land that Yahweh your God is giving to you as an inheritance to take possession of it, you shall blot out the remembrance of Amalek from under the heavens; you shall not forget!”

1CUANDO hubiere pleito entre algunos, y vinieren á juicio, y los juzgaren, y absolvieren al justo y condenaren al inicuo,
2Será que, si el delincuente mereciere ser azotado, entonces el juez lo hará echar en tierra, y harále azotar delante de sí, según su delito, por cuenta.
3Harále dar cuarenta azotes, no más: no sea que, si lo hiriere con muchos azotes á más de éstos, se envilezca tu hermano delante de tus ojos.
4No pondrás bozal al buey cuando trillare.
5Cuando hermanos estuvieren juntos, y muriere alguno de ellos, y no tuviere hijo, la mujer del muerto no se casará fuera con hombre extraño: su cuñado entrará á ella, y la tomará por su mujer, y hará con ella parentesco.
6Y será que el primogénito que pariere ella, se levantará en nombre de su hermano el muerto, porque el nombre de éste no sea raído de Israel.
7Y si el hombre no quisiere tomar á su cuñada, irá entonces la cuñada suya á la puerta á los ancianos, y dirá: Mi cuñado no quiere suscitar nombre en Israel á su hermano; no quiere emparentar conmigo.
8Entonces los ancianos de aquella ciudad lo harán venir, y hablarán con él: y si él se levantare, y dijere, No quiero tomarla,
9Llegaráse entonces su cuñada á él delante de los ancianos, y le descalzará el zapato de su pie, y escupirále en el rostro, y hablará y dirá: Así será hecho al varón que no edificare la casa de su hermano.
10Y su nombre será llamado en Israel: La casa del descalzado.
11Cuando algunos riñeren juntos el uno con el otro, y llegare la mujer del uno para librar á su marido de mano del que le hiriere, y metiere su mano y le trabare de sus vergüenzas;
12La cortarás entonces la mano, no la perdonará tu ojo.
13No tendrás en tu bolsa pesa grande y pesa chica.
14No tendrás en tu casa epha grande y epha pequeño.
15Pesas cumplidas y justas tendrás; epha cabal y justo tendrás: para que tus días sean prolongados sobre la tierra que Jehová tu Dios te da.
16Porque abominación es á Jehová tu Dios cualquiera que hace esto, cualquiera que hace agravio.
17Acuérdate de lo que te hizo Amalec en el camino, cuando salisteis de Egipto:
18Que te salió al camino, y te desbarató la retaguardia de todos los flacos que iban detrás de ti, cuando tú estabas cansado y trabajado; y no temió á Dios.
19Será pues, cuando Jehová tu Dios te hubiere dado reposo de tus enemigos alrededor, en la tierra que Jehová tu Dios te da por heredad para que la poseas, que raerás la memoria de Amalec de debajo del cielo: no te olvides.

1If there be a controversy between men, and they come unto judgment, that the judges may judge them; then they shall justify the righteous, and condemn the wicked.
2And it shall be, if the wicked man be worthy to be beaten, that the judge shall cause him to lie down, and to be beaten before his face, according to his fault, by a certain number.
3Forty stripes he may give him, and not exceed: lest, if he should exceed, and beat him above these with many stripes, then thy brother should seem vile unto thee.
4Thou shalt not muzzle the ox when he treadeth out the corn.
5If brethren dwell together, and one of them die, and have no child, the wife of the dead shall not marry without unto a stranger: her husband’s brother shall go in unto her, and take her to him to wife, and perform the duty of an husband’s brother unto her.
6And it shall be, that the firstborn which she beareth shall succeed in the name of his brother which is dead, that his name be not put out of Israel.
7And if the man like not to take his brother’s wife, then let his brother’s wife go up to the gate unto the elders, and say, My husband’s brother refuseth to raise up unto his brother a name in Israel, he will not perform the duty of my husband’s brother.
8Then the elders of his city shall call him, and speak unto him: and if he stand to it, and say, I like not to take her;
9Then shall his brother’s wife come unto him in the presence of the elders, and loose his shoe from off his foot, and spit in his face, and shall answer and say, So shall it be done unto that man that will not build up his brother’s house.
10And his name shall be called in Israel, The house of him that hath his shoe loosed.
11When men strive together one with another, and the wife of the one draweth near for to deliver her husband out of the hand of him that smiteth him, and putteth forth her hand, and taketh him by the secrets:
12Then thou shalt cut off her hand, thine eye shall not pity her.
13Thou shalt not have in thy bag divers weights, a great and a small.
14Thou shalt not have in thine house divers measures, a great and a small.
15But thou shalt have a perfect and just weight, a perfect and just measure shalt thou have: that thy days may be lengthened in the land which the LORD thy God giveth thee.
16For all that do such things, and all that do unrighteously, are an abomination unto the LORD thy God.
17Remember what Amalek did unto thee by the way, when ye were come forth out of Egypt;
18How he met thee by the way, and smote the hindmost of thee, even all that were feeble behind thee, when thou wast faint and weary; and he feared not God.
19Therefore it shall be, when the LORD thy God hath given thee rest from all thine enemies round about, in the land which the LORD thy God giveth thee for an inheritance to possess it, that thou shalt blot out the remembrance of Amalek from under heaven; thou shalt not forget it.

1If there is a controversy between men, and they come to judgment and the judges judge them, then they shall justify the righteous and condemn the wicked.
2It shall be, if the wicked man is worthy to be beaten, that the judge shall cause him to lie down and to be beaten before his face, according to his wickedness, by number.
3He may sentence him to no more than forty stripes. He shall not give more, lest if he should give more and beat him more than that many stripes, then your brother will be degraded in your sight.
4You shall not muzzle the ox when he treads out the grain.
5If brothers dwell together, and one of them dies and has no son, the wife of the dead shall not be married outside to a stranger. Her husband’s brother shall go in to her, and take her as his wife, and perform the duty of a husband’s brother to her.
6It shall be that the firstborn whom she bears shall succeed in the name of his brother who is dead, that his name not be blotted out of Israel.
7If the man doesn’t want to take his brother’s wife, then his brother’s wife shall go up to the gate to the elders, and say, “My husband’s brother refuses to raise up to his brother a name in Israel. He will not perform the duty of a husband’s brother to me.”
8Then the elders of his city shall call him, and speak to him. If he stands and says, “I don’t want to take her,”
9then his brother’s wife shall come to him in the presence of the elders, and loose his sandal from off his foot, and spit in his face. She shall answer and say, “So shall it be done to the man who does not build up his brother’s house.”
10His name shall be called in Israel, “The house of him who had his sandal removed.”
