1"Ist Streit zwischen Männern, und treten sie vor Gericht, dann richte man sie! Den Unschuldigen spreche man frei und verurteile den Schuldigen!
2Verdient der Schuldige Schläge, dann lasse ihn der Richter hinlegen und ihm vor ihm Schläge geben seines Frevels wegen zur Genüge an Zahl.
3Vierzig Hiebe lasse er ihm geben, aber nicht mehr, damit dein Bruder nicht vor deinen Augen zerfleischt würde, versetzte man ihm noch mehr Hiebe.
4Du sollst einem Rinde beim Dreschen keinen Maulkorb anlegen!
5Leben Brüder beisammen und stirbt einer von ihnen, ohne daß er einen Sohn gehabt, so soll die Frau des Verstorbenen nicht nach auswärts eines fremden Mannes werden! Ihr Schwager soll zu ihr eingehen! Er nehme sie sich zum Weibe und leiste ihr die Schwagerpflicht!
6Der Erstgeborene, den sie gebiert, komme auf den Namen seines verstorbenen Bruders, daß nicht sein Name in Israel erlösche!
7Hat aber der Mann keine Lust, seine Schwägerin zu heiraten so gehe seine Schwägerin an das Tor zu den Ältesten und spreche: 'Mein Schwager weigert sich, seines Bruders Namen in Israel zu erhalten! Er will mir die Schwagerpflicht nicht leisten.'
8Da sollen ihn die Ältesten seiner Stadt vorladen und ihm zureden! Bleibt er aber dabei und sagt: 'Ich habe keine Lust, sie zu nehmen',
9so trete seine Schwägerin in Gegenwart der Ältesten zu ihm, ziehe ihm den Schuh vom Fuße, speie ihm ins Angesicht, hebe an und sage: 'Also ergehe es jedermann, der seines Bruders Haus nicht aufbauen will!'
10Und sein Name heiße in Israel: 'Elender Barfüßer'!
11Raufen zwei Brüder miteinander, und eilt das Weib des einen herbei, ihren Mann zu befreien aus der Hand dessen, der ihn schlägt, und packt sie ihn mit der Hand an den Schamteilen,
12dann haue ihr schonungslos die Hand ab!
13In deiner Tasche sollst du nicht zweierlei Gewichtssteine tragen, einen größeren und einen kleineren!
14In deinem Hause sollst du nicht zweierlei Scheffel haben, einen größeren und einen kleineren!
15Nur volles und richtiges Gewicht sollst du haben, vollen und richtigen Scheffel, auf daß du lange lebst in dem Land, das dir der Herr, dein Gott, gibt!
16Denn ein Greuel für den Herrn, deinen Gott, ist jeder, der solches tut und solche Unredlichkeit verübt.
17Bedenke, was dir die Amalekiter unterwegs getan, auf deinem Zuge aus Ägypten,
18wie sie dich unterwegs überfallen und all deine ermatteten Nachzügler von dir abschnitten, als du erschöpft und müde geworden, und wie sie Gott nicht gefürchtet haben!
19Darum sollst du in dem Lande, das dir der Herr, dein Gott, zu eigen gibt, des Amalekiters Namen unter dem Himmel auslöschen, wenn dir der Herr, dein Gott, vor all deinen Feinden ringsum Ruhe schafft! Du sollst es nicht vergessen!"

1CUANDO hubiere pleito entre algunos, y vinieren á juicio, y los juzgaren, y absolvieren al justo y condenaren al inicuo,
2Será que, si el delincuente mereciere ser azotado, entonces el juez lo hará echar en tierra, y harále azotar delante de sí, según su delito, por cuenta.
3Harále dar cuarenta azotes, no más: no sea que, si lo hiriere con muchos azotes á más de éstos, se envilezca tu hermano delante de tus ojos.
4No pondrás bozal al buey cuando trillare.
5Cuando hermanos estuvieren juntos, y muriere alguno de ellos, y no tuviere hijo, la mujer del muerto no se casará fuera con hombre extraño: su cuñado entrará á ella, y la tomará por su mujer, y hará con ella parentesco.
6Y será que el primogénito que pariere ella, se levantará en nombre de su hermano el muerto, porque el nombre de éste no sea raído de Israel.
7Y si el hombre no quisiere tomar á su cuñada, irá entonces la cuñada suya á la puerta á los ancianos, y dirá: Mi cuñado no quiere suscitar nombre en Israel á su hermano; no quiere emparentar conmigo.
8Entonces los ancianos de aquella ciudad lo harán venir, y hablarán con él: y si él se levantare, y dijere, No quiero tomarla,
9Llegaráse entonces su cuñada á él delante de los ancianos, y le descalzará el zapato de su pie, y escupirále en el rostro, y hablará y dirá: Así será hecho al varón que no edificare la casa de su hermano.
10Y su nombre será llamado en Israel: La casa del descalzado.
11Cuando algunos riñeren juntos el uno con el otro, y llegare la mujer del uno para librar á su marido de mano del que le hiriere, y metiere su mano y le trabare de sus vergüenzas;
12La cortarás entonces la mano, no la perdonará tu ojo.
13No tendrás en tu bolsa pesa grande y pesa chica.
14No tendrás en tu casa epha grande y epha pequeño.
15Pesas cumplidas y justas tendrás; epha cabal y justo tendrás: para que tus días sean prolongados sobre la tierra que Jehová tu Dios te da.
16Porque abominación es á Jehová tu Dios cualquiera que hace esto, cualquiera que hace agravio.
17Acuérdate de lo que te hizo Amalec en el camino, cuando salisteis de Egipto:
18Que te salió al camino, y te desbarató la retaguardia de todos los flacos que iban detrás de ti, cuando tú estabas cansado y trabajado; y no temió á Dios.
19Será pues, cuando Jehová tu Dios te hubiere dado reposo de tus enemigos alrededor, en la tierra que Jehová tu Dios te da por heredad para que la poseas, que raerás la memoria de Amalec de debajo del cielo: no te olvides.

1If there be a controversy between men, and they come unto judgment, that the judges may judge them; then they shall justify the righteous, and condemn the wicked.
2And it shall be, if the wicked man be worthy to be beaten, that the judge shall cause him to lie down, and to be beaten before his face, according to his fault, by a certain number.
3Forty stripes he may give him, and not exceed: lest, if he should exceed, and beat him above these with many stripes, then thy brother should seem vile unto thee.
4Thou shalt not muzzle the ox when he treadeth out the corn.
5If brethren dwell together, and one of them die, and have no child, the wife of the dead shall not marry without unto a stranger: her husband’s brother shall go in unto her, and take her to him to wife, and perform the duty of an husband’s brother unto her.
6And it shall be, that the firstborn which she beareth shall succeed in the name of his brother which is dead, that his name be not put out of Israel.
7And if the man like not to take his brother’s wife, then let his brother’s wife go up to the gate unto the elders, and say, My husband’s brother refuseth to raise up unto his brother a name in Israel, he will not perform the duty of my husband’s brother.
8Then the elders of his city shall call him, and speak unto him: and if he stand to it, and say, I like not to take her;
9Then shall his brother’s wife come unto him in the presence of the elders, and loose his shoe from off his foot, and spit in his face, and shall answer and say, So shall it be done unto that man that will not build up his brother’s house.
10And his name shall be called in Israel, The house of him that hath his shoe loosed.
11When men strive together one with another, and the wife of the one draweth near for to deliver her husband out of the hand of him that smiteth him, and putteth forth her hand, and taketh him by the secrets:
12Then thou shalt cut off her hand, thine eye shall not pity her.
13Thou shalt not have in thy bag divers weights, a great and a small.
14Thou shalt not have in thine house divers measures, a great and a small.
15But thou shalt have a perfect and just weight, a perfect and just measure shalt thou have: that thy days may be lengthened in the land which the LORD thy God giveth thee.
16For all that do such things, and all that do unrighteously, are an abomination unto the LORD thy God.
17Remember what Amalek did unto thee by the way, when ye were come forth out of Egypt;
18How he met thee by the way, and smote the hindmost of thee, even all that were feeble behind thee, when thou wast faint and weary; and he feared not God.
19Therefore it shall be, when the LORD thy God hath given thee rest from all thine enemies round about, in the land which the LORD thy God giveth thee for an inheritance to possess it, that thou shalt blot out the remembrance of Amalek from under heaven; thou shalt not forget it.
World English Bible
1If there is a controversy between men, and they come to judgment and the judges judge them, then they shall justify the righteous and condemn the wicked.
2It shall be, if the wicked man is worthy to be beaten, that the judge shall cause him to lie down and to be beaten before his face, according to his wickedness, by number.
3He may sentence him to no more than forty stripes. He shall not give more, lest if he should give more and beat him more than that many stripes, then your brother will be degraded in your sight.
4You shall not muzzle the ox when he treads out the grain.
5If brothers dwell together, and one of them dies and has no son, the wife of the dead shall not be married outside to a stranger. Her husband’s brother shall go in to her, and take her as his wife, and perform the duty of a husband’s brother to her.
6It shall be that the firstborn whom she bears shall succeed in the name of his brother who is dead, that his name not be blotted out of Israel.
7If the man doesn’t want to take his brother’s wife, then his brother’s wife shall go up to the gate to the elders, and say, “My husband’s brother refuses to raise up to his brother a name in Israel. He will not perform the duty of a husband’s brother to me.”
8Then the elders of his city shall call him, and speak to him. If he stands and says, “I don’t want to take her,”
9then his brother’s wife shall come to him in the presence of the elders, and loose his sandal from off his foot, and spit in his face. She shall answer and say, “So shall it be done to the man who does not build up his brother’s house.”
10His name shall be called in Israel, “The house of him who had his sandal removed.”
11When men strive against each other, and the wife of one draws near to deliver her husband out of the hand of him who strikes him, and puts out her hand, and grabs him by his private parts,
12then you shall cut off her hand. Your eye shall have no pity.
13You shall not have in your bag diverse weights, one heavy and one light.
14You shall not have in your house diverse measures, one large and one small.
15You shall have a perfect and just weight. You shall have a perfect and just measure, that your days may be long in the land which the LORD your God gives you.
16For all who do such things, all who do unrighteously, are an abomination to the LORD your God.
17Remember what Amalek did to you by the way as you came out of Egypt,
18how he met you by the way, and struck the rearmost of you, all who were feeble behind you, when you were faint and weary; and he didn’t fear God.
19Therefore it shall be, when the LORD your God has given you rest from all your enemies all around, in the land which the LORD your God gives you for an inheritance to possess it, that you shall blot out the memory of Amalek from under the sky. You shall not forget.
