1"Quand un homme aura pris une femme et cohabité avec elle; si elle cesse de lui plaire, parce qu'il aura remarqué en elle quelque chose de malséant, il lui écrira un libelle de divorce, le lui mettra en main et la renverra de chez lui.
2Si, sortie de la maison conjugale, elle se remarie et devient l'épouse d'un autre homme,
3et que ce dernier, l'ayant prise en aversion, lui écrive un libelle de divorce, le lui mette en main et la renvoie de chez lui; ou que ce même homme, qui l'a épousée en dernier lieu, vienne à mourir,
4son premier mari, qui l'a répudiée, ne peut la reprendre une fois qu'elle s'est laissée souiller, car ce serait une abomination devant le Seigneur: or, tu ne dois pas déshonorer le pays que le Seigneur, ton Dieu, te donne en héritage.
5Si quelqu'un a pris nouvellement femme, il sera dispensé de se rendre à l'armée, et on ne lui imposera aucune corvée: il pourra vaquer librement à son intérieur pendant un an, et rendre heureuse la femme qu'il a épousée.
6On ne doit pas saisir comme gage une meule inférieure ni une meule courante, car ce serait prendre la vie même en gage.
7Si un homme est convaincu d'avoir enlevé quelqu'un de ses frères, un des enfants d'Israël, et de l'avoir traité comme esclave ou vendu, ce ravisseur doit mourir; et tu extirperas ainsi le mal du milieu de toi
8Observe avec un soin extrême et exécute les prescriptions relatives à la lèpre: tout ce que les pontifes, descendants de Lévi, vous enseigneront d'après ce que je leur ai prescrit, vous vous appliquerez à le faire.
9Souviens-toi de ce que l'Éternel, ton Dieu, a fait à Miryam, pendant votre voyage au sortir de l'Egypte.
10Si tu as fait à ton prochain un prêt quelconque, n'entre point dans sa maison pour te nantir de son gage.
11Tu dois attendre dehors, et celui dont tu es le créancier t'apportera le gage hors de chez lui.
12Et si c'est un pauvre, tu ne dois pas te coucher nanti de son gage:
13tu es tenu de le lui rendre au coucher du soleil, pour qu'il puisse reposer sous sa couverture et qu'il te bénisse; et cela te sera compté comme une bonne œuvre par l'Éternel, ton Dieu.
14Ne cause point de tort au journalier pauvre et nécessiteux, que ce soit un de tes frères ou un des étrangers qui sont dans ton pays, dans l'une de tes villes.
15Le jour même, tu lui remettras son salaire, avant que le soleil se couche; car il est pauvre, et il attend son salaire avec anxiété. Crains qu'il n'implore contre toi le Seigneur, et que tu ne sois trouvé coupable.
16Les pères ne doivent pas être mis à mort pour les enfants, ni les enfants pour les pères: on ne sera mis à mort que pour son propre méfait.
17Ne fausse pas le droit de l'étranger ni celui de l'orphelin, et ne saisis pas comme gage le vêtement de la veuve.
18Rappelle-toi que tu as été esclave en Egypte et que l'Éternel, ton Dieu, t'en a affranchi; c'est pour cela que je t'ordonne d'agir de la sorte.
19Quand tu feras la moisson de ton champ, si tu as oublié dans ce champ une javelle, ne retourne pas la prendre, mais qu'elle reste pour l'étranger, l'orphelin ou la veuve, afin que l'Éternel, ton Dieu, te bénisse dans toutes les œuvres de tes mains.
20Quand tu gauleras ton olivier, n'y glane pas après coup; ce sera pour l'étranger, l'orphelin et la veuve.
21Quand tu vendangeras ta vigne, n'y grappille pas après coup; ce sera pour l'étranger, pour l'orphelin, pour la veuve.
22Et tu te souviendras que tu as été esclave au pays d'Egypte: c'est pourquoi je t'ordonne de tenir cette conduite.

1CUANDO alguno tomare mujer y se casare con ella, si no le agradare por haber hallado en ella alguna cosa torpe, le escribirá carta de repudio, y se la entregará en su mano, y despedirála de su casa.
2Y salida de su casa, podrá ir y casarse con otro hombre.
3Y si la aborreciere aqueste último, y le escribiere carta de repudio, y se la entregare en su mano, y la despidiere de su casa; ó si muriere el postrer hombre que la tomó para sí por mujer,
4No podrá su primer marido, que la despidió, volverla á tomar para que sea su mujer, después que fué amancillada; porque es abominación delante de Jehová, y no has de pervertir la tierra que Jehová tu Dios te da por heredad.
5Cuando tomare alguno mujer nueva, no saldrá á la guerra, ni en ninguna cosa se le ocupará; libre estará en su casa por un año, para alegrar á su mujer que tomó.
6No tomarás en prenda la muela de molino, ni la de abajo ni la de arriba: porque sería prendar la vida.
7Cuando fuere hallado alguno que haya hurtado persona de sus hermanos los hijos de Israel, y hubiere mercadeado con ella, ó la hubiere vendido, el tal ladrón morirá, y quitarás el mal de en medio de ti.
8Guárdate de llaga de lepra, observando diligentemente, y haciendo según todo lo que os enseñaren los sacerdotes Levitas: cuidaréis de hacer como les he mandado.
9Acuérdate de lo que hizo Jehová tu Dios á María en el camino, después que salisteis de Egipto.
10Cuando dieres á tu prójimo alguna cosa emprestada, no entrarás en su casa para tomarle prenda:
11Fuera estarás, y el hombre á quien prestaste, te sacará afuera la prenda.
12Y si fuere hombre pobre, no duermas con su prenda:
13Precisamente le devolverás la prenda cuando el sol se ponga, para que duerma en su ropa, y te bendiga: y te será justicia delante de Jehová tu Dios.
14No hagas agravio al jornalero pobre y menesteroso, así de tus hermanos como de tus extranjeros que están en tu tierra en tus ciudades:
15En su día le darás su jornal, y no se pondrá el sol sin dárselo: pues es pobre, y con él sustenta su vida: porque no clame contra ti á Jehová, y sea en ti pecado.
16Los padres no morirán por los hijos, ni los hijos por los padres; cada uno morirá por su pecado.
17No torcerás el derecho del peregrino y del huérfano; ni tomarás por prenda la ropa de la viuda:
18Mas acuérdate que fuiste siervo en Egipto, y de allí te rescató Jehová tu Dios: por tanto, yo te mando que hagas esto.
19Cuando segares tu mies en tu campo, y olvidares alguna gavilla en el campo, no volverás á tomarla: para el extranjero, para el huérfano, y para la viuda será; porque te bendiga Jehová tu Dios en toda obra de tus manos.
20Cuando sacudieres tus olivas, no recorrerás las ramas tras ti: para el extranjero, para el huérfano, y para la viuda será.
21Cuando vendimiares tu viña, no rebuscarás tras ti: para el extranjero, para el huérfano, y para la viuda será.
22Y acuérdate que fuiste siervo en tierra de Egipto: por tanto, yo te mando que hagas esto.

1When a man hath taken a wife, and married her, and it come to pass that she find no favour in his eyes, because he hath found some uncleanness in her: then let him write her a bill of divorcement, and give it in her hand, and send her out of his house.
2And when she is departed out of his house, she may go and be another man’s wife.
3And if the latter husband hate her, and write her a bill of divorcement, and giveth it in her hand, and sendeth her out of his house; or if the latter husband die, which took her to be his wife;
4Her former husband, which sent her away, may not take her again to be his wife, after that she is defiled; for that is abomination before the LORD: and thou shalt not cause the land to sin, which the LORD thy God giveth thee for an inheritance.
5When a man hath taken a new wife, he shall not go out to war, neither shall he be charged with any business: but he shall be free at home one year, and shall cheer up his wife which he hath taken.
6No man shall take the nether or the upper millstone to pledge: for he taketh a man’s life to pledge.
7If a man be found stealing any of his brethren of the children of Israel, and maketh merchandise of him, or selleth him; then that thief shall die; and thou shalt put evil away from among you.
8Take heed in the plague of leprosy, that thou observe diligently, and do according to all that the priests the Levites shall teach you: as I commanded them, so ye shall observe to do.
9Remember what the LORD thy God did unto Miriam by the way, after that ye were come forth out of Egypt.
10When thou dost lend thy brother any thing, thou shalt not go into his house to fetch his pledge.
11Thou shalt stand abroad, and the man to whom thou dost lend shall bring out the pledge abroad unto thee.
12And if the man be poor, thou shalt not sleep with his pledge:
13In any case thou shalt deliver him the pledge again when the sun goeth down, that he may sleep in his own raiment, and bless thee: and it shall be righteousness unto thee before the LORD thy God.
14Thou shalt not oppress an hired servant that is poor and needy, whether he be of thy brethren, or of thy strangers that are in thy land within thy gates:
15At his day thou shalt give him his hire, neither shall the sun go down upon it; for he is poor, and setteth his heart upon it: lest he cry against thee unto the LORD, and it be sin unto thee.
16The fathers shall not be put to death for the children, neither shall the children be put to death for the fathers: every man shall be put to death for his own sin.
17Thou shalt not pervert the judgment of the stranger, nor of the fatherless; nor take a widow’s raiment to pledge:
18But thou shalt remember that thou wast a bondman in Egypt, and the LORD thy God redeemed thee thence: therefore I command thee to do this thing.
19When thou cuttest down thine harvest in thy field, and hast forgot a sheaf in the field, thou shalt not go again to fetch it: it shall be for the stranger, for the fatherless, and for the widow: that the LORD thy God may bless thee in all the work of thine hands.
20When thou beatest thine olive tree, thou shalt not go over the boughs again: it shall be for the stranger, for the fatherless, and for the widow.
21When thou gatherest the grapes of thy vineyard, thou shalt not glean it afterward: it shall be for the stranger, for the fatherless, and for the widow.
22And thou shalt remember that thou wast a bondman in the land of Egypt: therefore I command thee to do this thing.
World English Bible
1When a man takes a wife and marries her, then it shall be, if she finds no favor in his eyes because he has found some unseemly thing in her, that he shall write her a certificate of divorce, put it in her hand, and send her out of his house.
2When she has departed out of his house, she may go and be another man’s wife.
3If the latter husband hates her, and writes her a certificate of divorce, puts it in her hand, and sends her out of his house; or if the latter husband dies, who took her to be his wife;
4her former husband, who sent her away, may not take her again to be his wife after she is defiled; for that would be an abomination to the LORD. You shall not cause the land to sin, which the LORD your God gives you for an inheritance.
5When a man takes a new wife, he shall not go out in the army, neither shall he be assigned any business. He shall be free at home one year, and shall cheer his wife whom he has taken.
6No man shall take the mill or the upper millstone as a pledge, for he takes a life in pledge.
7If a man is found stealing any of his brothers of the children of Israel, and he deals with him as a slave, or sells him, then that thief shall die. So you shall remove the evil from among you.
8Be careful in the plague of leprosy, that you observe diligently and do according to all that the Levitical priests teach you. As I commanded them, so you shall observe to do.
9Remember what the LORD your God did to Miriam, by the way as you came out of Egypt.
10When you lend your neighbor any kind of loan, you shall not go into his house to get his pledge.
11You shall stand outside, and the man to whom you lend shall bring the pledge outside to you.
12If he is a poor man, you shall not sleep with his pledge.
13You shall surely restore to him the pledge when the sun goes down, that he may sleep in his garment and bless you. It shall be righteousness to you before the LORD your God.
14You shall not oppress a hired servant who is poor and needy, whether he is one of your brothers or one of the foreigners who are in your land within your gates.
15In his day you shall give him his wages, neither shall the sun go down on it, for he is poor and sets his heart on it, lest he cry against you to the LORD, and it be sin to you.
16The fathers shall not be put to death for the children, neither shall the children be put to death for the fathers. Every man shall be put to death for his own sin.
17You shall not deprive the foreigner or the fatherless of justice, nor take a widow’s clothing in pledge;
18but you shall remember that you were a slave in Egypt, and the LORD your God redeemed you there. Therefore I command you to do this thing.
19When you reap your harvest in your field, and have forgotten a sheaf in the field, you shall not go again to get it. It shall be for the foreigner, for the fatherless, and for the widow, that the LORD your God may bless you in all the work of your hands.
20When you beat your olive tree, you shall not go over the boughs again. It shall be for the foreigner, for the fatherless, and for the widow.
21When you harvest your vineyard, you shall not glean it after yourselves. It shall be for the foreigner, for the fatherless, and for the widow.
