ESTAS son las palabras que habló Moisés á todo Israel de esta parte del Jordán en el desierto, en el llano delante del mar Bermejo, entre Parán, y Thopel, y Labán, y Haseroth, y Dizahab.

Bringet weise, verständige und einsichtige Männer her aus jedem eurer Stämme; die will ich an eure Spitze stellen."
Dadme de entre vosotros, de vuestras tribus, varones sabios y entendidos y expertos, para que yo los ponga por vuestros jefes.
Take you wise men, and understanding, and known among your tribes, and I will make them rulers over you.

Da gabt ihr mir zur Antwort: "Gut ist, was du vorhast."

Und ich nahm die Häupter eurer Stämme, weise und einsichtige Männer, und setzte sie zu Häuptern über euch, als Oberste über Tausend, über Hundert, über Fünfzig und über Zehn, und als Amtleute, für jeden eurer Stämme.

So I took the chief of your tribes, wise men, and known, and made them heads over you, captains over thousands, and captains over hundreds, and captains over fifties, and captains over tens, and officers among your tribes.

Ihr sollt kein Ansehen der Person kennen im Gerichte; den Kleinen sollt ihr hören wie den Grossen und euch vor niemand scheuen, denn das Gericht ist Gottes. Ist aber eine Sache euch zu schwer, so lasset sie an mich gelangen, dass ich sie höre." (a) 3Mo 19:15; 5Mo 16:19; 2Mo 18:22

Und ich gebot euch zu derselben Zeit alles, was ihr tun sollt.

Dann brachen wir vom Horeb auf und wanderten durch jene ganze grosse und furchtbare Wüste, die ihr gesehen habt, auf dem Wege nach dem Gebirge der Amoriter, wie uns der Herr, unser Gott, geboten hatte, und kamen bis Kades-Barnea.

And I said unto you, Ye are come unto the mountain of the Amorites, which the LORD our God doth give unto us.

Siehe, der Herr, dein Gott, übergibt dir dieses Land; ziehe hinauf und nimm es in Besitz, wie der Herr, der Gott deiner Väter, dir verheissen hat. Fürchte dich nicht und sei unverzagt!"
Mira, Jehová tu Dios ha dado delante de ti la tierra: sube y poséela, como Jehová el Dios de tus padres te ha dicho; no temas ni desmayes.
Behold, the LORD thy God hath set the land before thee: go up and possess it, as the LORD God of thy fathers hath said unto thee; fear not, neither be discouraged.

Da tratet ihr alle zu mir und spracht: "Lass uns Männer vor uns her senden; die sollen uns das Land durchspähen und uns Bericht bringen über den Weg, den wir ziehen müssen, und über die Städte, dahin wir kommen werden." (a) 4Mo 13
Y llegasteis á mí todos vosotros, y dijisteis: Enviemos varones delante de nosotros, que nos reconozcan la tierra y nos traigan de vuelta razón del camino por donde hemos de subir, y de las ciudades adonde hemos de llegar.
And ye came near unto me every one of you, and said, We will send men before us, and they shall search us out the land, and bring us word again by what way we must go up, and into what cities we shall come.
You came near to me, everyone of you, and said, “Let’s send men before us, that they may search the land for us, and bring back to us word of the way by which we must go up, and the cities to which we shall come.”
Das gefiel mir wohl, und ich nahm aus euch zwölf Männer, aus jedem Stamme einen.

Die gingen hinweg und zogen hinauf auf das Gebirge und kamen bis ins Tal Eskol und durchspähten das Land;

Empero no quisisteis subir, antes fuisteis rebeldes al dicho de Jehová vuestro Dios;

ihr murrtet in euren Zelten und spracht: "Aus Hass hat uns der Herr aus dem Lande Ägypten herausgeführt, dass er uns in die Hand der Amoriter gebe, um uns zu vernichten.
Y murmurasteis en vuestras tiendas, diciendo: Porque Jehová nos aborrecía, nos ha sacado de tierra de Egipto, para entregarnos en mano del Amorrheo para destruirnos.
And ye murmured in your tents, and said, Because the LORD hated us, he hath brought us forth out of the land of Egypt, to deliver us into the hand of the Amorites, to destroy us.

Trotzdem vertrautet ihr nicht auf den Herrn, euren Gott,
Y aun con esto no creisteis en Jehová vuestro Dios,

der vor euch her ging auf dem Wege, euch die Stätte zu weisen, wo ihr lagern solltet: bei Nacht im Feuer, auf dass ihr sehen könntet auf dem Wege, den ihr gehen solltet, und bei Tage in der Wolke. (a) 2Mo 13:21

ausser Kaleb, dem Sohne Jephunnes; der soll es sehen, und ihm und seinen Kindern will ich das Land, das er betreten, geben, weil er unwandelbar zum Herrn gehalten hat."

Auch über mich ward der Herr zornig um euretwillen, und er sprach: "Du sollst auch nicht dorthin kommen. (a) 4Mo 20:12

Da gabt ihr mir zur Antwort: "Wir haben wider den Herrn gesündigt; wir wollen hinaufziehen und streiten, ganz wie uns der Herr, unser Gott, geboten hat." Dann umgürtete sich ein jeder unter euch mit seinen Kriegswaffen, und es schien euch ein leichtes, hinaufzuziehen ins Gebirge.
Entonces respondisteis y me dijisteis: Pecado hemos contra Jehová; nosotros subiremos y pelearemos, conforme á todo lo que Jehová nuestro Dios nos ha mandado. Y os armasteis cada uno de sus armas de guerra, y os apercibisteis para subir al monte.
Then ye answered and said unto me, We have sinned against the LORD, we will go up and fight, according to all that the LORD our God commanded us. And when ye had girded on every man his weapons of war, ye were ready to go up into the hill.
Then you answered and said to me, “We have sinned against the LORD. We will go up and fight, according to all that the LORD our God commanded us.” Every man of you put on his weapons of war, and presumed to go up into the hill country.

Da rückten die Amoriter, die dort auf dem Gebirge wohnten, euch entgegen und jagten euch nach, wie die Bienen tun, und zersprengten euch von Seir bis gen Horma.

And the Amorites, which dwelt in that mountain, came out against you, and chased you, as bees do, and destroyed you in Seir, even unto Hormah.

Als ihr nun zurückkamt, da weintet ihr vor dem Herrn; doch der Herr hörte nicht auf eure Klage und neigte sein Ohr nicht zu euch.
