Deuteronomio 11

1So liebe denn Jahwe, deinen Gott, und beobachte allezeit, was er zu beobachten befohlen hat, seine Satzungen, seine Rechte und seine Gebote,
2und erkennet heute - denn nicht mit euren Kindern, die es nicht erlebt und nicht gesehen haben, rede ich - die Zucht und Leitung Jahwes, eures Gottes, seine Größe, seine starke Hand und seinen ausgereckten Arm,
3seine Zeichen und Thaten, die er in Ägypten am Pharao, dem Könige von Ägypten, und an seinem ganzen Lande gethan hat,
4was er der Heeresmacht Ägyptens, seinen Rossen und Wagen widerfahren ließ, indem Jahwe, als sie euch nachjagten, die Wasser des Schilfmeers über sie dahinfluten ließ und sie so vertilgte bis auf diesen Tag;
5was er dann an euch in der Steppe bis zu eurer Ankunft an diesem Orte gethan hat
6und was er Dathan und Abiram, den Söhnen Eliabs, des Sohnes Rubens, widerfahren ließ, indem die Erde ihren Mund aufthat und sie inmitten von ganz Israel verschlang samt ihren Behausungen und Zelten und allem, was zu ihrem Gefolge gehörte.
7Denn mit eigenen Augen habt ihr alle die großen Thaten gesehen, die Jahwe gethan hat.
8So beobachtet nun alle die Gebote, die ich euch heute gebe, damit ihr Kraft gewinnt, hinzukommen und das Land in Besitz zu nehmen, in das ihr nun hinüberzieht, um es in Besitz zu nehmen,
9und damit ihr lange lebt in dem Lande, welches Jahwe kraft des euren Vätern geleisteten Eides ihnen und ihren Nachkommen verliehen hat, - ein Land, das von Milch und Honig überfließt.
10Denn das Land, in das du hineinziehst, um es in Besitz zu nehmen, ist nicht wie das Land Ägypten, aus dem ihr weggezogen seid, das du, wenn du es mit deinem Samen besät hattest, wie einen Gemüsegarten durch mit deinem Fuße getriebene Schöpfräder bewässern mußtest.
11Das Land, in das ihr hinüberzieht, um es in Besitz zu nehmen, ist ein Land mit Bergen und Thälern, das, wenn der Regen vom Himmel fällt, Wasser trinkt,
12ein Land, für das Jahwe, dein Gott, Sorge trägt; beständig sind die Augen Jahwes, deines Gottes, darauf gerichtet, vom Anfang bis zum Ende des Jahres.
13Wenn ihr meinen Geboten, die ich euch heute gebe, treulich gehorcht, indem ihr Jahwe, euren Gott, liebt und ihm von ganzem Herzen und von ganzer Seele dient,
14so werde ich eurem Lande zur rechten Zeit Regen geben, Frühregen wie Spätregen, damit du dein Getreide, deinen Most und dein Öl einheimsen kannst.
15Auch werde ich dir auf deinen Fluren Gras für dein Vieh geben, so daß du dich satt essen kannst.
16Seid wohl auf eurer Hut, daß sich euer Herz nicht betören läßt, und ihr nicht andere Götter verehrt und euch vor ihnen niederwerft.
17Sonst wird der Zorn Jahwes gegen euch entbrennen, und er wird den Himmel verschließen, so daß kein Regen mehr fällt, und der Boden seinen Ertrag nicht mehr giebt, und ihr werdet rasch aus dem schönen Lande verschwinden, das euch Jahwe verleihen will.
18So nehmt euch nun diese meine Worte zu Herzen und zu Gemüte, bindet sie als ein Denkzeichen auf eure Hand und habt sie als Stirnbänder zwischen euren Augen!
19Lehrt sie eure Kinder, indem ihr davon redet, wenn du in deinem Hause weilst und wenn du dich auf Reisen befindest, wenn du dich niederlegst und wenn du aufstehst;
20schreibe sie auf die Pfosten deines Hauses und auf deine Thore,
21damit ihr und eure Kinder in dem Lande, das Jahwe euren Vätern mit einem Eidschwur zugesagt hat, so lange lebt, als der Himmel über der Erde steht.
22Denn wenn ihr ernstlich darauf bedacht seid, alle diese Gebote, die ich euch gebe, zu erfüllen, indem ihr Jahwe, euren Gott, liebt, immerdar auf seinen Wegen wandelt und ihm anhanget,
23so wird Jahwe alle diese Völker vor euch vertreiben, und ihr werdet dann Völker beerben, die größer und stärker sind als ihr.
24Jede Stätte, die eure Fußsohle betritt, soll euch zufallen, von der Steppe bis zum Libanon, vom Strome, dem Euphratstrom, an bis an das westliche Meer soll sich euer Gebiet erstrecken.
25Niemand wird gegen euch standhalten; Furcht und Schrecken vor euch wird Jahwe, euer Gott, über das ganze Land kommen lassen, das ihr betretet, wie er euch verheißen hat.
26Seht, ich lege euch heute Segen und Fluch vor:
27den Segen, wenn ihr den Geboten Jahwes, eures Gottes, die ich euch heute gebiete, gehorcht,
28aber den Fluch, falls ihr den Geboten Jahwes, eures Gottes, nicht gehorcht und von dem Weg abweicht, den ich euch heute vorschreibe, um andern Göttern nachzufolgen, die ihr vorher nicht kanntet.
29Und wenn dich Jahwe, dein Gott, in das Land gebracht hat, in das du hineinziehst, um es in Besitz zu nehmen, so sollst du den Segen auf den Berg Gerisim legen und den Fluch auf den Berg Ebal.
30Wie bekannt, liegen diese jenseits des Jordan westwärts von der Straße des Sonnenuntergangs, im Lande der die Araba bewohnenden Kanaaniter, gegenüber vom Gilgal, bei der Orakel-Terebinthe.
31Denn ihr überschreitet den Jordan, um in den Besitz des Landes zu gelangen, das euch Jahwe, euer Gott, verleihen will. Wenn ihr es dann eingenommen und euch darin niedergelassen habt,
32sollt ihr auf die Befolgung aller der Satzungen und Rechte achten, welche ich euch heute vorlege.

1AMARÁS pues á Jehová tu Dios, y guardarás su ordenanza, y sus estatutos y sus derechos y sus mandamientos, todos los días.
2Y comprended hoy: porque no hablo con vuestros hijos que no han sabido ni visto el castigo de Jehová vuestro Dios, su grandeza, su mano fuerte, y su brazo extendido,
3Y sus señales, y sus obras que hizo en medio de Egipto á Faraón, rey de Egipto, y á toda su tierra;
4Y lo que hizo al ejército de Egipto, á sus caballos, y á sus carros; cómo hizo ondear las aguas del mar Bermejo sobre ellos, cuando venían tras vosotros, y Jehová los destruyó hasta hoy;
5Y lo que ha hecho con vosotros en el desierto, hasta que habéis llegado á este lugar;
6Y lo que hizo con Dathán y Abiram, hijos de Eliab hijo de Rubén; cómo abrió la tierra su boca, y tragóse á ellos y á sus casas, y sus tiendas, y toda la hacienda que tenían en pie en medio de todo Israel:
7Mas vuestros ojos han visto todos los grandes hechos que Jehová ha ejecutado.
8Guardad, pues, todos los mandamientos que yo os prescribo hoy, para que seáis esforzados, y entréis y poseáis la tierra, á la cual pasáis para poseerla;
9Y para que os sean prolongados los días sobre la tierra, que juró Jehová á vuestros padres había de dar á ellos y á su simiente, tierra que fluye leche y miel.
10Que la tierra á la cual entras para poseerla, no es como la tierra de Egipto de donde habéis salido, donde sembrabas tu simiente, y regabas con tu pie, como huerto de hortaliza.
11La tierra á la cual pasáis para poseerla, es tierra de montes y de vegas; de la lluvia del cielo ha de beber las aguas;
12Tierra de la cual Jehová tu Dios cuida: siempre están sobre ella los ojos de Jehová tu Dios, desde el principio del año hasta el fin de él.
13Y será que, si obedeciereis cuidadosamente mis mandamientos que yo os prescribo hoy, amando á Jehová vuestro Dios, y sirviéndolo con todo vuestro corazón, y con toda vuestra alma,
14Yo daré la lluvia de vuestra tierra en su tiempo, la temprana y la tardía; y cogerás tu grano, y tu vino, y tu aceite.
15Daré también hierba en tu campo para tus bestias; y comerás, y te hartarás.
16Guardaos, pues, que vuestro corazón no se infatúe, y os apartéis, y sirváis á dioses ajenos, y os inclinéis á ellos;
17Y así se encienda el furor de Jehová sobre vosotros, y cierre los cielos, y no haya lluvia, ni la tierra dé su fruto, y perezcáis presto de la buena tierra que os da Jehová.
18Por tanto, pondréis estas mis palabras en vuestro corazón y en vuestra alma, y las ataréis por señal en vuestra mano, y serán por frontales entre vuestros ojos.
19Y las enseñaréis á vuestros hijos, hablando de ellas, ora sentado en tu casa, ó andando por el camino, cuando te acuestes, y cuando te levantes:
20Y las escribirás en los postes de tu casa, y en tus portadas:
21Para que sean aumentados vuestros días, y los días de vuestros hijos, sobre la tierra que juró Jehová á vuestros padres que les había de dar, como los días de los cielos sobre la tierra.
22Porque si guardareis cuidadosamente todos estos mandamientos que yo os prescribo, para que los cumpláis; como améis á Jehová vuestro Dios andando en todos sus caminos, y á él os allegareis,
23Jehová también echará todas estas gentes de delante de vosotros y poseeréis gentes grandes y más fuertes que vosotros.
24Todo lugar que pisare la planta de vuestro pie, será vuestro: desde el desierto y el Líbano, desde el río, el río Eufrates, hasta la mar postrera será vuestro término.
25Nadie se sostendrá delante de vosotros: miedo y temor de vosotros pondrá Jehová vuestro Dios sobre la haz de toda la tierra que hollareis, como él os ha dicho.
26He aquí yo pongo hoy delante de vosotros la bendición y la maldición:
27La bendición, si oyereis los mandamientos de Jehová vuestro Dios, que yo os prescribo hoy;
28Y la maldición, si no oyereis los mandamientos de Jehová vuestro Dios, y os apartareis del camino que yo os ordeno hoy, para ir en pos de dioses ajenos que no habéis conocido.
29Y será que, cuando Jehová tu Dios te introdujere en la tierra á la cual vas para poseerla, pondrás la bendición sobre el monte Gerizim, y la maldición sobre el monte Ebal:
30Los cuales están de la otra parte del Jordán, tras el camino del occidente en la tierra del Cananeo, que habita en la campiña delante de Gilgal, junto á los llanos de Moreh.
31Porque vosotros pasáis el Jordán, para ir á poseer la tierra que os da Jehová vuestro Dios; y la poseeréis, y habitaréis en ella.
32Cuidaréis, pues, de poner por obra todos los estatutos y derechos que yo presento hoy delante de vosotros.

1Therefore thou shalt love the LORD thy God, and keep his charge, and his statutes, and his judgments, and his commandments, alway.
2And know ye this day: for I speak not with your children which have not known, and which have not seen the chastisement of the LORD your God, his greatness, his mighty hand, and his stretched out arm,
3And his miracles, and his acts, which he did in the midst of Egypt unto Pharaoh the king of Egypt, and unto all his land;
4And what he did unto the army of Egypt, unto their horses, and to their chariots; how he made the water of the Red sea to overflow them as they pursued after you, and how the LORD hath destroyed them unto this day;
5And what he did unto you in the wilderness, until ye came into this place;
6And what he did unto Dathan and Abiram, the sons of Eliab, the son of Reuben: how the earth opened her mouth, and swallowed them up, and their households, and their tents, and all the substance that was in their possession, in the midst of all Israel:
7But your eyes have seen all the great acts of the LORD which he did.
8Therefore shall ye keep all the commandments which I command you this day, that ye may be strong, and go in and possess the land, whither ye go to possess it;
9And that ye may prolong your days in the land, which the LORD sware unto your fathers to give unto them and to their seed, a land that floweth with milk and honey.
10For the land, whither thou goest in to possess it, is not as the land of Egypt, from whence ye came out, where thou sowedst thy seed, and wateredst it with thy foot, as a garden of herbs:
11But the land, whither ye go to possess it, is a land of hills and valleys, and drinketh water of the rain of heaven:
12A land which the LORD thy God careth for: the eyes of the LORD thy God are always upon it, from the beginning of the year even unto the end of the year.
13And it shall come to pass, if ye shall hearken diligently unto my commandments which I command you this day, to love the LORD your God, and to serve him with all your heart and with all your soul,
14That I will give you the rain of your land in his due season, the first rain and the latter rain, that thou mayest gather in thy corn, and thy wine, and thine oil.
15And I will send grass in thy fields for thy cattle, that thou mayest eat and be full.
16Take heed to yourselves, that your heart be not deceived, and ye turn aside, and serve other gods, and worship them;
17And then the LORD’s wrath be kindled against you, and he shut up the heaven, that there be no rain, and that the land yield not her fruit; and lest ye perish quickly from off the good land which the LORD giveth you.
18Therefore shall ye lay up these my words in your heart and in your soul, and bind them for a sign upon your hand, that they may be as frontlets between your eyes.
19And ye shall teach them your children, speaking of them when thou sittest in thine house, and when thou walkest by the way, when thou liest down, and when thou risest up.
20And thou shalt write them upon the door posts of thine house, and upon thy gates:
21That your days may be multiplied, and the days of your children, in the land which the LORD sware unto your fathers to give them, as the days of heaven upon the earth.
22For if ye shall diligently keep all these commandments which I command you, to do them, to love the LORD your God, to walk in all his ways, and to cleave unto him;
23Then will the LORD drive out all these nations from before you, and ye shall possess greater nations and mightier than yourselves.
24Every place whereon the soles of your feet shall tread shall be yours: from the wilderness and Lebanon, from the river, the river Euphrates, even unto the uttermost sea shall your coast be.
25There shall no man be able to stand before you: for the LORD your God shall lay the fear of you and the dread of you upon all the land that ye shall tread upon, as he hath said unto you.
26Behold, I set before you this day a blessing and a curse;
27A blessing, if ye obey the commandments of the LORD your God, which I command you this day:
28And a curse, if ye will not obey the commandments of the LORD your God, but turn aside out of the way which I command you this day, to go after other gods, which ye have not known.
29And it shall come to pass, when the LORD thy God hath brought thee in unto the land whither thou goest to possess it, that thou shalt put the blessing upon mount Gerizim, and the curse upon mount Ebal.
30Are they not on the other side Jordan, by the way where the sun goeth down, in the land of the Canaanites, which dwell in the champaign over against Gilgal, beside the plains of Moreh?
31For ye shall pass over Jordan to go in to possess the land which the LORD your God giveth you, and ye shall possess it, and dwell therein.
32And ye shall observe to do all the statutes and judgments which I set before you this day.

1Therefore you shall love the LORD your God, and keep his instructions, his statutes, his ordinances, and his commandments, always.
2Know this day—for I don’t speak with your children who have not known, and who have not seen the chastisement of the LORD your God, his greatness, his mighty hand, his outstretched arm,
3his signs, and his works, which he did in the middle of Egypt to Pharaoh the king of Egypt, and to all his land;
4and what he did to the army of Egypt, to their horses, and to their chariots; how he made the water of the Red Sea to overflow them as they pursued you, and how the LORD has destroyed them to this day;
5and what he did to you in the wilderness until you came to this place;
6and what he did to Dathan and Abiram, the sons of Eliab, the son of Reuben—how the earth opened its mouth and swallowed them up, with their households, their tents, and every living thing that followed them, in the middle of all Israel;
7but your eyes have seen all of the LORD’s great work which he did.
8Therefore you shall keep the entire commandment which I command you today, that you may be strong, and go in and possess the land that you go over to possess;
9and that you may prolong your days in the land which the LORD swore to your fathers to give to them and to their offspring, a land flowing with milk and honey.
10For the land, where you go in to possess isn’t like the land of Egypt that you came out of, where you sowed your seed and watered it with your foot, as a garden of herbs;
11but the land that you go over to possess is a land of hills and valleys which drinks water from the rain of the sky,
12a land which the LORD your God cares for. The LORD your God’s eyes are always on it, from the beginning of the year even to the end of the year.
13It shall happen, if you shall listen diligently to my commandments which I command you today, to love the LORD your God, and to serve him with all your heart and with all your soul,
14that I will give the rain for your land in its season, the early rain and the latter rain, that you may gather in your grain, your new wine, and your oil.
15I will give grass in your fields for your livestock, and you shall eat and be full.
16Be careful, lest your heart be deceived, and you turn away to serve other gods and worship them;
17and the LORD’s anger be kindled against you, and he shut up the sky so that there is no rain, and the land doesn’t yield its fruit; and you perish quickly from off the good land which the LORD gives you.
18Therefore you shall lay up these words of mine in your heart and in your soul. You shall bind them for a sign on your hand, and they shall be for frontlets between your eyes.
19You shall teach them to your children, talking of them when you sit in your house, when you walk by the way, when you lie down, and when you rise up.
20You shall write them on the door posts of your house and on your gates;
21that your days and your children’s days may be multiplied in the land which the LORD swore to your fathers to give them, as the days of the heavens above the earth.
22For if you shall diligently keep all these commandments which I command you—to do them, to love the LORD your God, to walk in all his ways, and to cling to him—
23then the LORD will drive out all these nations from before you, and you shall dispossess nations greater and mightier than yourselves.
24Every place on which the sole of your foot treads shall be yours: from the wilderness and Lebanon, from the river, the river Euphrates, even to the western sea shall be your border.
25No man will be able to stand before you. The LORD your God will lay the fear of you and the dread of you on all the land that you tread on, as he has spoken to you.
26Behold, I set before you today a blessing and a curse:
27the blessing, if you listen to the commandments of the LORD your God, which I command you today;
28and the curse, if you do not listen to the commandments of the LORD your God, but turn away out of the way which I command you today, to go after other gods which you have not known.
29It shall happen, when the LORD your God brings you into the land that you go to possess, that you shall set the blessing on Mount Gerizim, and the curse on Mount Ebal.
30Aren’t they beyond the Jordan, behind the way of the going down of the sun, in the land of the Canaanites who dwell in the Arabah near Gilgal, beside the oaks of Moreh?
31For you are to pass over the Jordan to go in to possess the land which the LORD your God gives you, and you shall possess it and dwell in it.
32You shall observe to do all the statutes and the ordinances which I set before you today.
