Entonces el rostro del rey cambió y sus pensamientos lo asustaron; sus extremidades no lo pudieron sostener, y sus rodillas chocaban entre sí.

El rey gritó una orden para hacer entrar a aquellos que decían que hablaban con los muertos, los hombres sabios, y los astrólogos. El rey les dijo a aquellos conocidos por su sabiduría en Babilonia: "Quienquiera que explique este escrito y su significado será vestido de púrpura y tendrá una cadena de oro alrededor de su cuello. Él tendrá la autoridad del tercero en mando en el reino."
El rey clamó en alta voz que hiciesen venir magos, Caldeos, y adivinos. Habló el rey, y dijo á los sabios de Babilonia: Cualquiera que leyere esta escritura, y me mostrare su declaración, será vestido de púrpura, y tendrá collar de oro á su cuello; y en el reino se enseñoreará el tercero.

Entonces todos los hombres del rey que eran conocidos por su sabiduría entraron, pero ellos no pudieron leer el escrito ni explicar su significado al rey.

Hay un hombre en su reino que posee el espíritu de los dioses santos. En los días de su padre, la luz, el entendimiento y la sabiduría como la sabiduría de los dioses fueron hallados en él. El Rey Nabucodonosor, su padre el rey, lo hizo jefe de los magos, así también como jefe de los que hablan con los muertos, de los hombres sabios, y de los astrólogos.
En tu reino hay un varón, en el cual mora el espíritu de los dioses santos; y en los días de tu padre se halló en él luz é inteligencia y sabiduría, como ciencia de los dioses: al cual el rey Nabucodonosor, tu padre, el rey tu padre constituyó príncipe sobre todos los magos, astrólogos, Caldeos, y adivinos:
There is a man in thy kingdom, in whom is the spirit of the holy gods; and in the days of thy father light and understanding and wisdom, like the wisdom of the gods, was found in him; whom the king Nebuchadnezzar thy father, the king, I say, thy father, made master of the magicians, astrologers, Chaldeans, and soothsayers;

Un espíritu excelente, conocimiento, entendimiento, interpretación de sueños, explicación de adivinanzas y solución de problemas; todas estas cualidades fueron halladas en este hombre Daniel, a quien el rey llamó Beltsasar. Ahora llame a Daniel y él le dirá el significado de lo que ha sido escrito."
Por cuanto fué hallado en él mayor espíritu, y ciencia, y entendimiento, interpretando sueños, y declarando preguntas, y deshaciendo dudas, es á saber, en Daniel; al cual el rey puso por nombre Beltsasar. Llámese pues ahora á Daniel, y él mostrará la declaración.
Forasmuch as an excellent spirit, and knowledge, and understanding, interpreting of dreams, and shewing of hard sentences, and dissolving of doubts, were found in the same Daniel, whom the king named Belteshazzar: now let Daniel be called, and he will shew the interpretation.

Entonces Daniel fue traído ante el rey. El rey le dijo: "Tú eres ese Daniel, uno de entre el pueblo de los exiliados de Judá, a quien mi padre, el rey, sacó de Judá.
Entonces Daniel fué traído delante del rey. Y habló el rey, y dijo á Daniel: ¿Eres tú aquel Daniel de los hijos de la cautividad de Judá, que mi padre trajo de Judea?

Yo he escuchado acerca de ti, que el espíritu de los dioses está en ti, y que luz, entendimiento y una excelente sabiduría se hallan en ti.

I have even heard of thee, that the spirit of the gods is in thee, and that light and understanding and excellent wisdom is found in thee.

Ahora los hombres conocidos por sabiduría y aquellos que claman hablar con los muertos han sido traídos delante de mí para leer este escrito y darme a conocer su interpretación, pero ellos no me pudieron dar a conocer su interpretación.
Y ahora fueron traídos delante de mí, sabios, astrólogos, que leyesen esta escritura, y me mostrasen su interpretación: pero no han podido mostrar la declaración del negocio.
And now the wise men, the astrologers, have been brought in before me, that they should read this writing, and make known unto me the interpretation thereof: but they could not shew the interpretation of the thing:

Yo he escuchado que tú puedes dar interpretaciones y resolver problemas. Ahora, si tú puedes leer el escrito y decirme su significado, tú serás vestido de púrpura y tendrás una cadena de oro colocada alrededor de tu cuello, y tendrás la autoridad del tercero en mando en el reino."
Yo pues he oído de ti que puedes declarar las dudas, y desatar dificultades. Si ahora pudieres leer esta escritura, y mostrarme su interpretación, serás vestido de púrpura, y collar de oro tendrás en tu cuello, y en el reino serás el tercer señor.
And I have heard of thee, that thou canst make interpretations, and dissolve doubts: now if thou canst read the writing, and make known to me the interpretation thereof, thou shalt be clothed with scarlet, and have a chain of gold about thy neck, and shalt be the third ruler in the kingdom.
But I have heard of you, that you can give interpretations and dissolve doubts. Now if you can read the writing and make known to me its interpretation, you shall be clothed with purple, and have a chain of gold around your neck, and shall be the third ruler in the kingdom.”
Entonces Daniel contestó delante del rey: "Que sus regalos sean para usted mismo, y déle sus recompensas a otra persona. Sin embargo, yo le leeré el escrito, rey, y le diré su significado.
Entonces Daniel respondió, y dijo delante del rey: Tus dones sean para ti, y tus presentes dalos á otro. La escritura yo la leeré al rey, y le mostraré la declaración.
Then Daniel answered and said before the king, Let thy gifts be to thyself, and give thy rewards to another; yet I will read the writing unto the king, and make known to him the interpretation.

En cuanto a usted, rey, el Dios Altísimo le dio a Nabucodonosor, su padre, el reino, la grandeza, el honor y la majestad.
El altísimo Dios, oh rey, dió á Nabucodonosor tu padre el reino, y la grandeza, y la gloria, y la honra:
O thou king, the most high God gave Nebuchadnezzar thy father a kingdom, and majesty, and glory, and honour:
“To you, king, the Most High God gave Nebuchadnezzar your father the kingdom, and greatness, and glory, and majesty.
Debido a la grandeza que Dios le dio, todos los pueblos, naciones y lenguas temblaron y le temieron. Él mandó a matar a aquellos que él quería que murieran, y dejó vivir a los que él quería que vivieran. Él exaltó a los que él deseaba, y humilló a los que él deseaba.
Y por la grandeza que le dió, todos los pueblos, naciones, y lenguas, temblaban y temían delante de él. Los que él quería mataba, y daba vida á los que quería: engrandecía á los que quería, y á los que quería humillaba.
And for the majesty that he gave him, all people, nations, and languages, trembled and feared before him: whom he would he slew; and whom he would he kept alive; and whom he would he set up; and whom he would he put down.
Because of the greatness that he gave him, all the peoples, nations, and languages trembled and feared before him. He killed whom he wanted to, and he kept alive whom he wanted to. He raised up whom he wanted to, and he put down whom he wanted to.
Pero cuando su corazón fue arrogante y su espíritu fue endurecido de manera que actuó pretenciosamente, él fue derribado de su trono real, y le quitaron su majestad.
Mas cuando su corazón se ensoberbeció, y su espíritu se endureció en altivez, fué depuesto del trono de su reino, y traspasaron de él la gloria:
But when his heart was lifted up, and his mind hardened in pride, he was deposed from his kingly throne, and they took his glory from him:

Fue echado de la humanidad, tuvo la mente de un animal, y vivió con los asnos salvajes. Comió hierba como un buey. Su cuerpo estaba mojado con el rocío de los cielos hasta que aprendió que el Dios Altísimo gobierna sobre los reinos de los pueblos y que él coloca sobre ellos a cualquiera que él desea.
Y fué echado de entre los hijos de los hombres; y su corazón fué puesto con las bestias, y con los asnos monteses fué su morada. Hierba le hicieron comer, como á buey, y su cuerpo fué bañado con el rocío del cielo, hasta que conoció que el altísimo Dios se enseñorea del reino de los hombres, y que pondrá sobre él al que quisiere.
And he was driven from the sons of men; and his heart was made like the beasts, and his dwelling was with the wild asses: they fed him with grass like oxen, and his body was wet with the dew of heaven; till he knew that the most high God ruled in the kingdom of men, and that he appointeth over it whomsoever he will.

Usted, su hijo, Belsasar, no ha humillado su corazón, aunque usted sabía todo esto.
Y tú, su hijo Belsasar, no has humillado tu corazón, sabiendo todo esto:
And thou his son, O Belshazzar, hast not humbled thine heart, though thou knewest all this;
“You, his son, Belshazzar, have not humbled your heart, though you knew all this,
Usted se ha levantado en contra del Señor del cielo. De su casa le han traído a usted los contenedores de los cuales usted, sus nobles, sus esposas y sus concubinas bebieron vino, y usted alabó los ídolos hechos de plata y oro, bronce, hierro, madera y piedra, ídolos que no ven, oyen, ni saben nada. Usted no ha honrado al Dios que sostiene su aliento en su mano y quien conoce todos sus caminos.
Antes contra el Señor del cielo te has ensoberbecido, é hiciste traer delante de ti los vasos de su casa, y tú y tus príncipes, tus mujeres y tus concubinas, bebisteis vino en ellos: demás de esto, á dioses de plata y de oro, de metal, de hierro, de madera, y de piedra, que ni ven, ni oyen, ni saben, diste alabanza: y al Dios en cuya mano está tu vida, y cuyos son todos tus caminos, nunca honraste.
But hast lifted up thyself against the Lord of heaven; and they have brought the vessels of his house before thee, and thou, and thy lords, thy wives, and thy concubines, have drunk wine in them; and thou hast praised the gods of silver, and gold, of brass, iron, wood, and stone, which see not, nor hear, nor know: and the God in whose hand thy breath is, and whose are all thy ways, hast thou not glorified:
but have lifted up yourself against the Lord of heaven; and they have brought the vessels of his house before you, and you and your lords, your wives, and your concubines, have drunk wine from them. You have praised the gods of silver and gold, of bronze, iron, wood, and stone, which don’t see, or hear, or know; and you have not glorified the God in whose hand your breath is, and whose are all your ways.
Entonces Dios envió una mano de su presencia y este escrito fue hecho.
Entonces de su presencia fué enviada la palma de la mano que esculpió esta escritura.
Then was the part of the hand sent from him; and this writing was written.
Then the part of the hand was sent from before him, and this writing was inscribed.
Esto es el escrito que fue hecho: 'Mene, Mene, Tekel, y Parsin.'
Y la escritura que esculpió es: MENE, MENE, TEKEL, UPHARSIN.
And this is the writing that was written, MENE, MENE, TEKEL, UPHARSIN.
“This is the writing that was inscribed: ‘MENE, MENE, TEKEL, UPHARSIN.’
Esto es su significado: 'Mene,' 'Dios ha contado su reino y lo ha traído a su final.'
La declaración del negocio es: MENE: Contó Dios tu reino, y halo rematado.
This is the interpretation of the thing: MENE; God hath numbered thy kingdom, and finished it.

'Tekel,' 'Usted fue pesado en la balanza y es hallado falto.'
TEKEL: Pesado has sido en balanza, y fuiste hallado falto.

'Parsin,' 'Su reino está dividido y es entregado a los medos y persas.'"
PERES: Tu reino fué rompido, y es dado á Medos y Persas.

Entonces Belsasar dio una orden, y vistieron a Daniel de púrpura. Una cadena de oro fue puesta alrededor de su cuello, y el rey hizo una proclama acerca de él de que tendría la autoridad del tercero en mando en el reino.
Entonces, mandándolo Belsasar, vistieron á Daniel de púrpura, y en su cuello fué puesto un collar de oro, y pregonaron de él que fuese el tercer señor en el reino.

y Darío, el Medo, recibió el reino cuando tenía cerca de sesenta y dos años.

And Darius the Median took the kingdom, being about threescore and two years old.
