Daniel 3

Il re Nabuchodonosor fece una statua d'oro alta sessanta cubiti, larga sei cubiti, e la fece alzare nella campagna di Dura della provincia di Babilonia.

EL rey Nabucodonosor hizo una estatua de oro, la altura de la cual era de sesenta codos, su anchura de seis codos: levantóla en el campo de Dura, en la provincia de Babilonia.

Nebuchadnezzar the king made an image of gold, whose height was threescore cubits, and the breadth thereof six cubits: he set it up in the plain of Dura, in the province of Babylon.

Nebuchadnezzar the king made an image of gold, whose height was sixty cubits and its width six cubits. He set it up in the plain of Dura, in the province of Babylon.

Il re Nabuchodonosor mandò a radunare i satrapi, e i magistrati, e i giudici, e i capitani, e i dinasti, e i prefetti, e tutti i governatori delle provincie, affinchè tutti insieme andassero alla dedicazione della statua alzata dal re Nabuchodonosor.

Y envió el rey Nabucodonosor á juntar los grandes, los asistentes y capitanes, oidores, receptores, los del consejo, presidentes, y á todos los gobernadores de las provincias, para que viniesen á la dedicación de la estatua que el rey Nabucodonosor había levantado.

Then Nebuchadnezzar the king sent to gather together the princes, the governors, and the captains, the judges, the treasurers, the counsellors, the sheriffs, and all the rulers of the provinces, to come to the dedication of the image which Nebuchadnezzar the king had set up.

Allora si ratinarono i satrapi, i magistrati, e i giudici, i capitani, e i dinasti, e i grandi, che eran costituiti in dignità, e tutti i governatori delle provincie, per andare tutti insieme alla dedicazione della statua eretta dal re Nabuchodonosor: e stavano in faccia alla statua alzata dal re Nabuchodonosor,

Fueron pues reunidos los grandes, los asistentes y capitanes, los oidores, receptores, los del consejo, los presidentes, y todos los gobernadores de las provincias, á la dedicación de la estatua que el rey Nabucodonosor había levantado: y estaban en pie delante de la estatua que había levantado el rey Nabucodonosor.

Then the princes, the governors, and captains, the judges, the treasurers, the counsellors, the sheriffs, and all the rulers of the provinces, were gathered together unto the dedication of the image that Nebuchadnezzar the king had set up; and they stood before the image that Nebuchadnezzar had set up.

Then the local governors, the deputies, and the governors, the judges, the treasurers, the counselors, the sheriffs, and all the rulers of the provinces were gathered together to the dedication of the image that Nebuchadnezzar the king had set up; and they stood before the image that Nebuchadnezzar had set up.

E il banditore gridava ad alta voce: Si ordina a voi, popoli, tribù, e lingue,

Y el pregonero pregonaba en alta voz: Mándase á vosotros, oh pueblos, naciones, y lenguas,

Then an herald cried aloud, To you it is commanded, O people, nations, and languages,

Then the herald cried aloud, “To you it is commanded, peoples, nations, and languages,

Che nel punto stesso, in cui udirete il suono della tromba, del flauto, della cetra, della sampogna, del saltero, del timpano, e degli strumenti musicali di ogni genere, prostrati adoriate la statua d'oro eretta dal re Nabuchodonosor;

En oyendo el son de la bocina, del pífano, del tamboril, del arpa, del salterio, de la zampoña, y de todo instrumento músico, os postraréis y adoraréis la estatua de oro que el rey Nabucodonosor ha levantado:

That at what time ye hear the sound of the cornet, flute, harp, sackbut, psaltery, dulcimer, and all kinds of musick, ye fall down and worship the golden image that Nebuchadnezzar the king hath set up:

that whenever you hear the sound of the horn, flute, zither, lyre, harp, pipe, and all kinds of music, you fall down and worship the golden image that Nebuchadnezzar the king has set up.

Che se alcuno non si prostra, e adora, nello stesso punto sarà gettato in una fornace di fuoco ardente.

Y cualquiera que no se postrare y adorare, en la misma hora será echado dentro de un horno de fuego ardiendo.

And whoso falleth not down and worshippeth shall the same hour be cast into the midst of a burning fiery furnace.

Whoever doesn’t fall down and worship shall be cast into the middle of a burning fiery furnace the same hour.”

Dopo di ciò adunque tosto che i popoli tutti udirono il suono della tromba, del flauto, e della cetra, e della sampogna, e del saltero, e del timpano, e degli strumenti musicali di ogni genere, prostrati tutti i popoli, le tribù, e le lingue, adorarono la statua d'oro alzata dal re Nabuchodonosor,

Por lo cual, en oyendo todos los pueblos el son de la bocina, del pífano, del tamboril, del arpa, del salterio, de la zampoña, y de todo instrumento músico, todos los pueblos, naciones, y lenguas, se postraron, y adoraron la estatua de oro que el rey Nabucodonosor había levantado.

Therefore at that time, when all the people heard the sound of the cornet, flute, harp, sackbut, psaltery, and all kinds of musick, all the people, the nations, and the languages, fell down and worshipped the golden image that Nebuchadnezzar the king had set up.

Therefore at that time, when all the peoples heard the sound of the horn, flute, zither, lyre, harp, pipe, and all kinds of music, all the peoples, the nations, and the languages fell down and worshiped the golden image that Nebuchadnezzar the king had set up.

E subito nel punto istesso alcuni uomini Caldei andarono ad accusar i Giudei:

Por esto en el mismo tiempo algunos varones Caldeos se llegaron, y denunciaron de los Judíos,

Wherefore at that time certain Chaldeans came near, and accused the Jews.

Therefore at that time certain Chaldeans came near and brought accusation against the Jews.

E dissero al re Nabuchodonosor: Vivi, o re, in eterno:

Hablando y diciendo al rey Nabucodonosor: Rey, para siempre vive.

They spake and said to the king Nebuchadnezzar, O king, live for ever.

They answered Nebuchadnezzar the king, “O king, live for ever!

Tu, o re, formasti decreto, che qualunque uomo, che avesse udito il suono della tromba, e del flauto, e della cetra, della sampogna, e del saltero, e del timpano, e de' musicali strumenti di ogni sorta, si prostrasse, e adorasse la statua d'oro;

Tú, oh rey, pusiste ley que todo hombre en oyendo el son de la bocina, del pífano, del tamboril, del arpa, del salterio, de la zampoña, y de todo instrumento músico, se postrase y adorase la estatua de oro:

Thou, O king, hast made a decree, that every man that shall hear the sound of the cornet, flute, harp, sackbut, psaltery, and dulcimer, and all kinds of musick, shall fall down and worship the golden image:

You, O king, have made a decree that every man who hears the sound of the horn, flute, zither, lyre, harp, pipe, and all kinds of music shall fall down and worship the golden image;

Che se alcuno non si prostrasse, e adorasse, fosse gettato in una fornace di fuoco ardente.

Y el que no se postrase y adorase, fuese echado dentro de un horno de fuego ardiendo.

And whoso falleth not down and worshippeth, that he should be cast into the midst of a burning fiery furnace.

and whoever doesn’t fall down and worship shall be cast into the middle of a burning fiery furnace.

Vi sono adunque tre uomini Giudei, i quali tu deputasti sopra gli affari della provincia di Babilonia, Sidrach, Misach, e Abdenago: questi uomini, o re, han dispregiato il tuo decreto, non rendon culto a' tuoi dei, e non adorano la statua d'oro alzata da te.

Hay unos varones Judíos, los cuales pusiste tú sobre los negocios de la provincia de Babilonia; Sadrach, Mesach, y Abed-nego: estos varones, oh rey, no han hecho cuenta de ti; no adoran tus dioses, no adoran la estatua de oro que tú levantaste.

There are certain Jews whom thou hast set over the affairs of the province of Babylon, Shadrach, Meshach, and Abed-nego; these men, O king, have not regarded thee: they serve not thy gods, nor worship the golden image which thou hast set up.

There are certain Jews whom you have appointed over the affairs of the province of Babylon: Shadrach, Meshach, and Abednego. These men, O king, have not respected you. They don’t serve your gods, and don’t worship the golden image which you have set up.”

Allora Nabuchodonosor pien di furore, e d'ira, ordinò, che gli conducessero Sidrach, Misach, e Abdenago: i quali tosto furon menati al cospetto dei re.

Entonces Nabucodonosor dijo con ira y con enojo que trajesen á Sadrach, Mesach, y Abed-nego. Al punto fueron traídos estos varones delante del rey.

Then Nebuchadnezzar in his rage and fury commanded to bring Shadrach, Meshach, and Abed-nego. Then they brought these men before the king.

Then Nebuchadnezzar in rage and fury commanded that Shadrach, Meshach, and Abednego be brought. Then these men were brought before the king.

E Nabuchodonosor re parlò, e disse loro: È egli vero, o Sidrach, Misach, e Abdenago, che voi non rendete culto a' miei dei, e non adorate la statua d'oro eretta da me?

Habló Nabucodonosor, y díjoles: ¿Es verdad Sadrach, Mesach, y Abed-nego, que vosotros no honráis á mi dios, ni adoráis la estatua de oro que he levantado?

Nebuchadnezzar spake and said unto them, Is it true, O Shadrach, Meshach, and Abed-nego, do not ye serve my gods, nor worship the golden image which I have set up?

Nebuchadnezzar answered them, “Is it true, Shadrach, Meshach, and Abednego, that you don’t serve my gods and you don’t worship the golden image which I have set up?

Or adunque, se voi siete a ciò disposti, in quel punto, in cui udirete i suon della tromba del flauto, della cetra, della sampogna, e del saltero, e del timpano, e de' musicali strumenti di ogni genere, prostratevi, e adorate la statua, che io ho fatta: che se non la adorerete, nello stesso punto sarete gettati in una fornace di fuoco ardente; e qual è il Dio, che vi sottrarrà al mio potere?

Ahora pues, ¿estáis prestos para que en oyendo el son de la bocina, del pífano, del tamboril, del arpa, del salterio, de la zampoña, y de todo instrumento músico, os postréis, y adoréis la estatua que he hecho? Porque si no la adorareis, en la misma hora seréis echados en medio de un horno de fuego ardiendo: ¿y qué dios será aquel que os libre de mis manos?

Now if ye be ready that at what time ye hear the sound of the cornet, flute, harp, sackbut, psaltery, and dulcimer, and all kinds of musick, ye fall down and worship the image which I have made; well: but if ye worship not, ye shall be cast the same hour into the midst of a burning fiery furnace; and who is that God that shall deliver you out of my hands?

Now if you are ready whenever you hear the sound of the horn, flute, zither, lyre, harp, pipe, and all kinds of music to fall down and worship the image which I have made, good; but if you don’t worship, you shall be cast the same hour into the middle of a burning fiery furnace. Who is that god who will deliver you out of my hands?”

Risposero Sidrach, Misach, e Abdenago, e dissero al re Nabuchodonosor: Non è necessario, che sopra di ciò noi ti diamo risposta:

Sadrach, Mesach, y Abed-nego respondieron y dijeron al rey Nabucodonosor: No cuidamos de responderte sobre este negocio.

Shadrach, Meshach, and Abed-nego, answered and said to the king, O Nebuchadnezzar, we are not careful to answer thee in this matter.

Shadrach, Meshach, and Abednego answered the king, “Nebuchadnezzar, we have no need to answer you in this matter.

Imperocché certamente il nostro Dio, che noi adoriamo, può liberarci dalla fornace di fuoco ardente, e sottrarci al poter tuo, o re.

He aquí nuestro Dios á quien honramos, puede librarnos del horno de fuego ardiendo; y de tu mano, oh rey, nos librará.

If it be so, our God whom we serve is able to deliver us from the burning fiery furnace, and he will deliver us out of thine hand, O king.

If it happens, our God whom we serve is able to deliver us from the burning fiery furnace; and he will deliver us out of your hand, O king.

Che s'ei non vorrà, sappi tu, o re, che noi non rendiam culto a' tuoi dei, e non adoriamo la statua d'oro eretta da te.

Y si no, sepas, oh rey, que tu dios no adoraremos, ni tampoco honraremos la estatua que has levantado.

But if not, be it known unto thee, O king, that we will not serve thy gods, nor worship the golden image which thou hast set up.

But if not, let it be known to you, O king, that we will not serve your gods or worship the golden image which you have set up.”

Allora Nabuchodonosor entrò in furore, e la sua faccia si cangiò di colore verso Sidrach, Misach, e Abdenago, e comandò, che si facesse fuoco alla fornace sette volte più di quel, che solea farsi.

Entonces Nabucodonosor fué lleno de ira, y demudóse la figura de su rostro sobre Sadrach, Mesach, y Abed-nego: así habló, y ordenó que el horno se encendiese siete veces tanto de lo que cada vez solía.

Then was Nebuchadnezzar full of fury, and the form of his visage was changed against Shadrach, Meshach, and Abed-nego: therefore he spake, and commanded that they should heat the furnace one seven times more than it was wont to be heated.

Then Nebuchadnezzar was full of fury, and the form of his appearance was changed against Shadrach, Meshach, and Abednego. He spoke, and commanded that they should heat the furnace seven times more than it was usually heated.

E ad uomini fortissimi del suo esercito diede ordine, che, legati i piedi a Sidrach, Misach, e Abdenago, li gettassero nella fornace di fuoco ardente.

Y mandó á hombres muy vigorosos que tenía en su ejército, que atasen á Sadrach, Mesach, y Abed-nego, para echarlos en el horno de fuego ardiendo.

And he commanded the most mighty men that were in his army to bind Shadrach, Meshach, and Abed-nego, and to cast them into the burning fiery furnace.

He commanded certain mighty men who were in his army to bind Shadrach, Meshach, and Abednego, and to cast them into the burning fiery furnace.

E tosto questi tre uomini legati pe' piedi, avendo le loro brache, e le tiare, e i borzacchini, e le loro vesti, furon gettati in mezzo alla fornace di fuoco ardente;

Entonces estos varones fueron atados con sus mantos, y sus calzas, y sus turbantes, y sus vestidos, y fueron echados dentro del horno de fuego ardiendo.

Then these men were bound in their coats, their hosen, and their hats, and their other garments, and were cast into the midst of the burning fiery furnace.

Then these men were bound in their pants, their tunics, and their mantles, and their other clothes, and were cast into the middle of the burning fiery furnace.

Imperocché il comandamento del re era pressante: e la fornace era straordinariamente accesa. Or la fiamma repente uccise coloro, che vi avean gettato Sidrach, Misach, e Abdenago.

Y porque la palabra del rey daba priesa, y había procurado que se encendiese mucho, la llama del fuego mató á aquellos que habían alzado á Sadrach, Mesach, y Abed-nego.

Therefore because the king’s commandment was urgent, and the furnace exceeding hot, the flame of the fire slew those men that took up Shadrach, Meshach, and Abed-nego.

Therefore because the king’s commandment was urgent and the furnace exceedingly hot, the flame of the fire killed those men who took up Shadrach, Meshach, and Abednego.

Ma questi tre, cioè Sidrach, Misach, e Abdenago cadder nel mezzo della fornace ardente legati.

Y estos tres varones, Sadrach, Mesach, y Abed-nego, cayeron atados dentro del horno de fuego ardiendo.

And these three men, Shadrach, Meshach, and Abed-nego, fell down bound into the midst of the burning fiery furnace.

These three men, Shadrach, Meshach, and Abednego, fell down bound into the middle of the burning fiery furnace.

E camminavano per mezzo alle fiamme laudando Dio, e benedicendo il Signore.

Entonces el rey Nabucodonosor se espantó, y levantóse apriesa, y habló, y dijo á los de su consejo: ¿No echaron tres varones atados dentro del fuego? Ellos respondieron y dijeron al rey: Es verdad, oh rey.

Then Nebuchadnezzar the king was astonied, and rose up in haste, and spake, and said unto his counsellors, Did not we cast three men bound into the midst of the fire? They answered and said unto the king, True, O king.

Then Nebuchadnezzar the king was astonished and rose up in haste. He spoke and said to his counselors, “Didn’t we cast three men bound into the middle of the fire?” They answered the king, “True, O king.”

E Azaria stando in piedi orò in questo modo, e aprendo la sua bocca in mezzo al fuoco, disse:

Respondió él y dijo: He aquí que yo veo cuatro varones sueltos, que se pasean en medio del fuego, y ningún daño hay en ellos: y el parecer del cuarto es semejante á hijo de los dioses.

He answered and said, Lo, I see four men loose, walking in the midst of the fire, and they have no hurt; and the form of the fourth is like the Son of God.

He answered, “Look, I see four men loose, walking in the middle of the fire, and they are unharmed. The appearance of the fourth is like a son of the gods.”

Benedetto se' tu, Dio de' padri nostri, e laudabile, e glorioso è il tuo nome pe' secoli;

Entonces Nabucodonosor se acercó á la puerta del horno de fuego ardiendo, y habló y dijo: Sadrach, Mesach, y Abed-nego, siervos del alto Dios, salid y venid. Entonces Sadrach, Mesach, y Abed-nego, salieron de en medio del fuego.

Then Nebuchadnezzar came near to the mouth of the burning fiery furnace, and spake, and said, Shadrach, Meshach, and Abed-nego, ye servants of the most high God, come forth, and come hither. Then Shadrach, Meshach, and Abed-nego, came forth of the midst of the fire.

Then Nebuchadnezzar came near to the mouth of the burning fiery furnace. He spoke and said, “Shadrach, Meshach, and Abednego, you servants of the Most High God, come out, and come here!” Then Shadrach, Meshach, and Abednego came out of the middle of the fire.

Perocché giusto se' tu in tutto quello, che hai fatto a noi, e tutte le opere tue sono veraci, e rette le vie tue, e tutti i giudizj tuoi sono giusti.

Y juntáronse los grandes, los gobernadores, los capitanes, y los del consejo del rey, para mirar estos varones, como el fuego no se enseñoreó de sus cuerpos, ni cabello de sus cabezas fué quemado, ni sus ropas se mudaron, ni olor de fuego había pasado por ellos.

And the princes, governors, and captains, and the king’s counsellors, being gathered together, saw these men, upon whose bodies the fire had no power, nor was an hair of their head singed, neither were their coats changed, nor the smell of fire had passed on them.

The local governors, the deputies, and the governors, and the king’s counselors, being gathered together, saw these men, that the fire had no power on their bodies. The hair of their head wasn’t singed. Their pants weren’t changed. The smell of fire wasn’t even on them.

Imperocché giusto fu il giudizio tuo, secondo il quale tutte queste cose cader facesti sopra di noi, e sopra la città santa de' padri nostri, Gerusalemme: perocché con verità, e con giustizia tutte queste cose venir facesti pe' peccati nostri.

Nabucodonosor habló y dijo: Bendito el Dios de ellos, de Sadrach, Mesach, y Abed-nego, que envió su ángel, y libró sus siervos que esperaron en él, y el mandamiento del rey mudaron, y entregaron sus cuerpos antes que sirviesen ni adorasen otro dios que su Dios.

Then Nebuchadnezzar spake, and said, Blessed be the God of Shadrach, Meshach, and Abed-nego, who hath sent his angel, and delivered his servants that trusted in him, and have changed the king’s word, and yielded their bodies, that they might not serve nor worship any god, except their own God.

Nebuchadnezzar spoke and said, “Blessed be the God of Shadrach, Meshach, and Abednego, who has sent his angel and delivered his servants who trusted in him, and have changed the king’s word, and have yielded their bodies, that they might not serve nor worship any god except their own God.

Imperocché noi peccammo, e cosa iniqua facemmo, allontanandoci da te, e in ogni cosa mancammo;

Por mí pues se pone decreto, que todo pueblo, nación, ó lengua, que dijere blasfemia contra el Dios de Sadrach, Mesach, y Abed-nego, sea descuartizado, y su casa sea puesta por muladar; por cuanto no hay dios que pueda librar como éste.

Therefore I make a decree, That every people, nation, and language, which speak any thing amiss against the God of Shadrach, Meshach, and Abed-nego, shall be cut in pieces, and their houses shall be made a dunghill: because there is no other God that can deliver after this sort.

Therefore I make a decree that every people, nation, and language which speak anything evil against the God of Shadrach, Meshach, and Abednego shall be cut in pieces, and their houses shall be made a dunghill, because there is no other god who is able to deliver like this.”

E non porgemmo le orecchie a' tuoi precetti, nè gli osservammo, nè facemmo secondo quelli, che tu ci avevi ordinato, perché noi fossim felici:

Entonces el rey engrandeció á Sadrach, Mesach, y Abed-nego en la provincia de Babilonia.

Then the king promoted Shadrach, Meshach, and Abed-nego, in the province of Babylon.

Tutto quello adunque, che hai mandato sopra di noi, e tutte quante le cose, che hai fatte a noi, con vero giudizio tu le hai fatte;

—

E ci hai dati in balia de' nostri nemici ingiusti, e pessimi, e prevaricatori, e di un re ingiusto, e il peggiore, che sia su tutta la terra.

—

—

—

Ed ora noi non possiamo aprir bocca: siam divenuti argomento di confusione, e di obbrobrio pe' servi tuoi, e per quei, che ti adorano.

—

—

—

Non abbandonarci, di grazia, in perpetuo per amor del tuo nome, e non dissipare il tuo testamento:

—

—

—

E non ritrarre da noi la tua misericordia per amore di Abramo diletto tuo, e di Isacco tuo servo, e di Israele tuo santo,

—

—

—

A' quali parlasti, facendo loro promessa di moltiplicare la loro stirpe, come le stelle del cielo, e come l'arena, che è sul lido del mare.

—

—

—

Perocché noi, o Signore, siam divenuti più piccoli di qualunque altra nazione, e adesso siamo umiliati per tutta la terra pe' nostri falli.

—

—

—

E non è in questo tempo nè principe, nè condottiere, nè profeta, nè olocausto, nè sagrifizio, nè obblazione, nè incenso, nè luogo, ove presentare a te le primizie,

—

—

—

Affin di poter trovare misericordia presso di te: ma ci ricevi tu contriti di anima, e umiliati di spirito,

—

—

—

Come in virtù dell'olocausto degli arieti, e de' tori, e come pel sagrifizio di migliaia di grassi agnelli. In tal guisa il sagrifizio nostro si adempia oggi nel tuo cospetto, che a te piaccia, da poiché confusi non restano quei, che confidano in te.

—

—

—

E ora con tutto il cuore te seguitiamo, e temiam te, e cerchiam la tua faccia;

—

—

—

Non volerci confondere: ma fa con noi secondo la tua mansuetudine, e secondo la molta tua misericordia.

—

—

—

E facci salvi co' tuoi prodigj, a glorifica il nome tuo, o Signore,

—

—

—

E siano confusi tutti coloro, che sciagure minacciano a' servi tuoi; sian confusi da tutta la tua possanza, e sia annichilata la loro fortezza;

—

—

—

E conoscano, che tu se' il Signore Dio solo, e glorioso sopra la terra.

—

—

—

E i ministri del re, che ve gli avean gettati, non filmavano di accrescer fuoco alla fornace con bitume, stoppa, pece, e sarmenti,

—

—

—

E la fiamma si alzava sopra la fornace quarantanove cubiti;

—

—

—

E si dilatò, e abbruciò que' Caldei, che trovò vicini alla fornace.

—

—

—

E l'Angelo del Signore era sceso con Azaria, e co' suoi compagni nella fornace, e allontanava da essi la fiamma del fuoco nella fornace,

—

—

—

E fece si, che nel mezzo della fornace soffiasse come un umido vento; e il fuoco non toccogli in verun modo, ne gli afflisse, nè diede loro molestia alcuna.

—

—

—

Allora questi tre quasi con una sol bocca laudavano, e glorificavano, e benedicevano Dio nella fornace dicendo:

—

—

—

Benedetto se' tu. Signore Dio de' padri nostri, e laudabile, e glorioso, ed elevato sopra tutte le cose pe' secoli: ed è benedetto il nome della tua gloria santo, e laudabile, ed esaltato sopra tutte le cose per tutti i secoli.

—

—

—

Benedetto se' tu nel tempio santo della tua gloria, e sopra ogni lode, e sopra ogni altezza pe' secoli.

—

—

—

Benedetto se' tu nel trono del tuo regno, e sopra ogni lode, e sopra ogni altezza pe' secoli.

—

—

—

Benedetto se' tu, che penetri col tuo sguardo gli abissi, e siedi sopra de' Cherubini, e se' laudabile, ed altissimo pe' secoli.

—

—

—

Benedetto se' tu nel firmamento del ciclo, e laudabile, e glorioso pe' secoli.

—

—

—

Allora il re Nabuchodonosor rimase stordito, ed alzossi in fretta, e disse a' suoi cortigiani: Non abbiam noi fatto gettare legati in mezzo al fuoco que' tre uomini? I quali risposero, e dissero: Così è, o re.

Ed egli rispose, e disse: Ecco, che io veggo quattro uomini sciolti, che camminano pel mezzo al fuoco, e nulla hanno patito, e il quarto è a vederlo simile al figliuolo di Dio.

Allora Nabuchodonosor si accostò alla porta della fornace ardente, e disse: Sidrach, Misach, e Abdenago servi dell'altissimo Dio, uscite fuori, e venite. E tosto usciron di mezzo al fuoco Sidrach, Misach, e Abdenago.

—

E affollatisi i satrapi, e i magistrati, e i giudici, e i cortigiani del re, stavano a contemplar questi uomini, perchè ne' corpi loro nissun potere aveva avuto il fuoco, e nissun capello della lor testa era arso, e i loro borzacchini non eran cangiati, né odore di fuoco gli avea tocchi.

E Nabuchodonosor proruppe in queste parole: Benedetto il loro Dio, il Dio di Sidrach, di Misach, e di Abdenago, il quale ha spedito il suo Angelo, e ha liberati i servi suoi, che hanno creduto in lui, e non hanno ubbidito all'ordine del re, ed hanno sacrificati i corpi loro per non voler render culto, né adorare dio alcuno fuori del Dio loro.

Questo adunque è il decreto, che io ho fatto, che qualunque popolo, tribù, o lingua, che proferirà bestemmia contro il Dio di Sidrach, di Misach, e di Abdenago, perisca, e sian devastate le case loro: imperocché altro dio non è, che possa salvare in tal guisa.

Allora il re innalzò Sidrach, Misach, e Abdenago al governo della provincia di Babilonia.

Il re Nabuchodonosor, a tutti i popoli, nazioni, e lingue, che abitano in tutta quanta la terra: Sia sempre più perfetta pace a voi.

Segni, e prodigi ha fatti presso di me l'altissimo Iddio: a me adunque è paruto di manifestarli.

—

—

I segni, perchè sono grandi, e i prodigi, perchè sono stupendi: e il regno di lui è un regno sempiterno, e la possanza di lui per tutti i secoli. Sogno di Nabuchodonosor interpretato da Daniele. Il re cacciato dal regno sta per sette anni colle bestie; indi riconosce la mano di Dio, e risale sul trono.
