And in the second year of the reign of Nebuchadnezzar Nebuchadnezzar dreamed dreams, wherewith his spirit was troubled, and his sleep brake from him.

Entonces el rey convocó a los magos y a los que decían hablar con los muertos. También llamó a los hechiceros y a los sabios. Él quería que le hablaran de sus sueños. Así que entraron y estuvieron de pie delante del rey.

Then spake the Chaldeans to the king in Syriack, O king, live for ever: tell thy servants the dream, and we will shew the interpretation.

El rey respondió a los sabios: "Este asunto ha sido determinado. Si ustedes no me revelan el sueño y lo interpretan, sus cuerpos serán despedazados y sus casas se convertirán en montones de basura.
Respondió el rey y dijo á los Caldeos: El negocio se me fué: si no me mostráis el sueño y su declaración, seréis hechos cuartos, y vuestras casas serán puestas por muladares.
The king answered and said to the Chaldeans, The thing is gone from me: if ye will not make known unto me the dream, with the interpretation thereof, ye shall be cut in pieces, and your houses shall be made a dunghill.

Pero si me dicen el sueño y su significado, recibirán regalos de mí parte, una recompensa, y gran honor. Así que, díganme el sueño y su significado."

Ellos respondieron otra vez y dijeron: "Que el rey nos diga a sus siervos el sueño y nosotros le diremos el significado."

They answered again and said, Let the king tell his servants the dream, and we will shew the interpretation of it.

El rey contestó: "Sé ciertamente que ustedes quieren más tiempo porque ven lo firme que es mi decisión sobre esto.

The king answered and said, I know of certainty that ye would gain the time, because ye see the thing is gone from me.

Pero si no me dicen el sueño, hay solo una sentencia. Ustedes han decidido preparar palabras falsas y engañosas para decirme hasta que cambie de parecer. Así que, díganme el sueño, y así yo sabré que me lo podrán interpretar."
Si no me mostráis el sueño, una sola sentencia será de vosotros. Ciertamente preparáis respuesta mentirosa y perversa que decir delante de mí, entre tanto que se muda el tiempo: por tanto, decidme el sueño, para que yo entienda que me podéis mostrar su declaración.
But if ye will not make known unto me the dream, there is but one decree for you: for ye have prepared lying and corrupt words to speak before me, till the time be changed: therefore tell me the dream, and I shall know that ye can shew me the interpretation thereof.

Los sabios respondieron al rey: "No hay ningún hombre sobre la tierra que pueda cumplir con la demanda del rey. No hay rey grande y poderoso que haya demandado tal cosa de ningún mago, o de nadie que pretenda hablar con los muertos, o de un hombre sabio.
Los Caldeos respondieron delante del rey, y dijeron: No hay hombre sobre la tierra que pueda declarar el negocio del rey: demás de esto, ningún rey, príncipe, ni señor, preguntó cosa semejante á ningún mago, ni astrólogo, ni Caldeo.
The Chaldeans answered before the king, and said, There is not a man upon the earth that can shew the king’s matter: therefore there is no king, lord, nor ruler, that asked such things at any magician, or astrologer, or Chaldean.
The Chaldeans answered the king and said, “There is not a man on the earth who can show the king’s matter, because no king, lord, or ruler has asked such a thing of any magician, enchanter, or Chaldean.
Lo que demanda el rey es difícil, y no hay nadie que pueda contárselo al rey, excepto los dioses, y ellos no viven entre los humanos."
Finalmente, el negocio que el rey demanda, es singular, ni hay quien lo pueda declarar delante del rey, salvo los dioses cuya morada no es con la carne.

Esto puso al rey enojado y muy furioso, y dio una orden para destruir a todos los que eran conocidos por su sabiduría en Babilonia.
Por esto el rey con ira y con grande enojo, mandó que matasen á todos los sabios de Babilonia.
For this cause the king was angry and very furious, and commanded to destroy all the wise men of Babylon.

And the decree went forth that the wise men should be slain; and they sought Daniel and his fellows to be slain.

Entonces Daniel respondió con prudencia y discreción a Arioc, el comandante de seguridad del rey, que había venido a matar a todos los que eran conocidos como sabios en Babilonia.
Entonces Daniel habló avisada y prudentemente á Arioch, capitán de los de la guarda del rey, que había salido para matar los sabios de Babilonia.
Then Daniel answered with counsel and wisdom to Arioch the captain of the king’s guard, which was gone forth to slay the wise men of Babylon:

Daniel le preguntó al comandante del rey: "¿Por qué es tan urgente el decreto del rey?" Así que Arioc le contó a Daniel lo que había sucedido.
Habló y dijo á Arioch capitán del rey: ¿Qué es la causa que este mandamiento se publica de parte del rey tan apresuradamente? Entonces Arioch declaró el negocio á Daniel.
He answered and said to Arioch the king’s captain, Why is the decree so hasty from the king? Then Arioch made the thing known to Daniel.

Entonces Daniel entró y pidió una cita con el rey para poderle presentar la interpretación.

That they would desire mercies of the God of heaven concerning this secret; that Daniel and his fellows should not perish with the rest of the wise men of Babylon.

Esa noche el misterio fue revelado a Daniel en una visión. Entonces Daniel alabó al Dios del cielo

Then was the secret revealed unto Daniel in a night vision. Then Daniel blessed the God of heaven.

y dijo: "Alaben el nombre de Dios por siempre y para siempre; pues la sabiduría y el poder le pertenecen.

Él revela las cosas profundas y escondidas porque Él conoce lo que está en la oscuridad, y la luz vive con Él.

He revealeth the deep and secret things: he knoweth what is in the darkness, and the light dwelleth with him.

I thank thee, and praise thee, O thou God of my fathers, who hast given me wisdom and might, and hast made known unto me now what we desired of thee: for thou hast now made known unto us the king’s matter.

Entonces Daniel fue a ver a Arioc al que el rey nombró para matar a todo sabio en Babilonia. Y le dijo: "No mates a los hombres sabios en Babilonia. Llévame al rey y le mostraré la interpretación de su sueño."
Después de esto Daniel entró á Arioch, al cual el rey había puesto para matar á los sabios de Babilonia; fué, y díjole así: No mates á los sabios de Babilonia: llévame delante del rey, que yo mostraré al rey la declaración.
Therefore Daniel went in unto Arioch, whom the king had ordained to destroy the wise men of Babylon: he went and said thus unto him; Destroy not the wise men of Babylon: bring me in before the king, and I will shew unto the king the interpretation.
Therefore Daniel went in to Arioch, whom the king had appointed to destroy the wise men of Babylon. He went and said this to him: “Don’t destroy the wise men of Babylon. Bring me in before the king, and I will show to the king the interpretation.”
Entonces Arioc trajo rápidamente a Daniel delante del rey y dijo: "He encontrado entre los exiliados de Judá a un hombre que revelará el significado del sueño del rey."
Entonces Arioch llevó prestamente á Daniel delante del rey, y díjole así: Un varón de los trasportados de Judá he hallado, el cual declarará al rey la interpretación.
Then Arioch brought in Daniel before the king in haste, and said thus unto him, I have found a man of the captives of Judah, that will make known unto the king the interpretation.

El rey dijo a Daniel, a quien se llamaba Beltsasar: "¿Eres capaz de decirme el sueño que yo vi y su significado?"
Respondió el rey, y dijo á Daniel, al cual llamaban Beltsasar: ¿Podrás tú hacerme entender el sueño que vi, y su declaración?
The king answered and said to Daniel, whose name was Belteshazzar, Art thou able to make known unto me the dream which I have seen, and the interpretation thereof?

Daniel respondió al rey y dijo: "El misterio del cual el rey ha preguntado no puede ser revelado por aquellos que tienen sabiduría, ni por los que dicen que hablan con los muertos, ni por magos, ni por astrólogos.
Daniel respondió delante del rey, y dijo: El misterio que el rey demanda, ni sabios, ni astrólogos, ni magos, ni adivinos lo pueden enseñar al rey.
Daniel answered in the presence of the king, and said, The secret which the king hath demanded cannot the wise men, the astrologers, the magicians, the soothsayers, shew unto the king;
Daniel answered before the king, and said, “The secret which the king has demanded can’t be shown to the king by wise men, enchanters, magicians, or soothsayers;
Sin embargo, hay un Dios que vive en los cielos, que revela misterios, y Él le ha dado a conocer a usted, Rey Nabucodonosor, lo que sucederá en los días por venir. Este fue su sueño y las visiones de su mente mientras dormía en su cama.
Mas hay un Dios en los cielos, el cual revela los misterios, y él ha hecho saber al rey Nabucodonosor lo que ha de acontecer á cabo de días. Tu sueño, y las visiones de tu cabeza sobre tu cama, es esto:
But there is a God in heaven that revealeth secrets, and maketh known to the king Nebuchadnezzar what shall be in the latter days. Thy dream, and the visions of thy head upon thy bed, are these;

En cuanto a usted, rey, sus sueños eran acerca de cosas por venir, y el único que revela misterios le ha dado a conocer lo que está por suceder.
Tú, oh rey, en tu cama subieron tus pensamientos por saber lo que había de ser en lo por venir; y el que revela los misterios te mostró lo que ha de ser.
As for thee, O king, thy thoughts came into thy mind upon thy bed, what should come to pass hereafter: and he that revealeth secrets maketh known to thee what shall come to pass.
“As for you, O king, your thoughts came on your bed, what should happen hereafter; and he who reveals secrets has made known to you what will happen.
Este misterio me fue revelado a mi no porque tenga mayor sabiduría que cualquier otra persona viva. Este misterio me fue revelado a mí para que usted, rey, pueda comprender el significado, y para que pueda conocer los pensamientos profundos dentro de usted.
Y á mí ha sido revelado este misterio, no por sabiduría que en mí haya más que en todos los vivientes, sino para que yo notifique al rey la declaración, y que entendieses los pensamientos de tu corazón.
But as for me, this secret is not revealed to me for any wisdom that I have more than any living, but for their sakes that shall make known the interpretation to the king, and that thou mightest know the thoughts of thy heart.

Rey, usted miró y vio una estatua grande. Esta estatua, que era muy poderosa y brillante, estaba en pie delante de usted. Su brillo era aterrarrador.
Tú, oh rey, veías, y he aquí una grande imagen. Esta imagen, que era muy grande, y cuya gloria era muy sublime, estaba en pie delante de ti, y su aspecto era terrible.
Thou, O king, sawest, and behold a great image. This great image, whose brightness was excellent, stood before thee; and the form thereof was terrible.
“You, O king, saw, and behold, a great image. This image, which was mighty, and whose brightness was excellent, stood before you; and its appearance was terrifying.
La cabeza de la estatua estaba hecha de oro fino. Su pecho y sus brazos eran de plata. Su parte del medio y sus muslos estaban hechos de bronce,

This image’s head was of fine gold, his breast and his arms of silver, his belly and his thighs of brass,

Thou sawest till that a stone was cut out without hands, which smote the image upon his feet that were of iron and clay, and brake them to pieces.

Entonces el hierro, el barro, el bronce, la plata, y el oro, a la misma vez, fueron rotos en pedazos y se hicieron como la cascarilla en los pisos de trillar en el verano. El viento se los llevó y no quedaron trazos de ellos. Pero la piedra que golpeó la estatua se convirtió en una gran montaña y llenó toda la tierra.
Entonces fué también desmenuzado el hierro, el barro cocido, el metal, la plata y el oro, y se tornaron como tamo de las eras del verano: y levantólos el viento, y nunca más se les halló lugar. Mas la piedra que hirió á la imagen, fué hecha un gran monte, que hinchió toda la tierra.
Then was the iron, the clay, the brass, the silver, and the gold, broken to pieces together, and became like the chaff of the summer threshingfloors; and the wind carried them away, that no place was found for them: and the stone that smote the image became a great mountain, and filled the whole earth.

Este fue su sueño. Ahora le diremos al rey el significado.
Este es el sueño: la declaración de él diremos también en presencia del rey.
This is the dream; and we will tell the interpretation thereof before the king.

Usted, rey, es rey de los reyes a quien el Dios del cielo le ha dado el reino, el poder, la fortaleza, y el honor.
Tú, oh rey, eres rey de reyes; porque el Dios del cielo te ha dado reino, potencia, y fortaleza, y majestad.
Thou, O king, art a king of kings: for the God of heaven hath given thee a kingdom, power, and strength, and glory.
You, O king, are king of kings, to whom the God of heaven has given the kingdom, the power, the strength, and the glory.
Él ha puesto en su mano el lugar donde viven los seres humanos. Él le ha entregado los animales de los campos y las aves de los cielos en sus manos, y Él le ha hecho a usted gobernar sobre todos ellos. Usted es la cabeza de oro de la estatua.
Y todo lo que habitan hijos de hombres, bestias del campo, y aves del cielo, él ha entregado en tu mano, y te ha hecho enseñorear sobre todo ello: tú eres aquella cabeza de oro.
And wheresoever the children of men dwell, the beasts of the field and the fowls of the heaven hath he given into thine hand, and hath made thee ruler over them all. Thou art this head of gold.

Después de usted, otro reino se levantará que es inferior a usted, y aún un tercer reino de bronce gobernará sobre toda la tierra.
Y después de ti se levantará otro reino menor que tú; y otro tercer reino de metal, el cual se enseñoreará de toda la tierra.
And after thee shall arise another kingdom inferior to thee, and another third kingdom of brass, which shall bear rule over all the earth.
“After you, another kingdom will arise that is inferior to you; and another third kingdom of bronze, which will rule over all the earth.
Habrá un cuarto reino, fuerte como el hierro, porque el hierro rompe otras cosas en pedazos y destroza todo. Destrozará todas estas cosas y las aplastará.
Y el reino cuarto será fuerte como hierro; y como el hierro desmenuza y doma todas las cosas, y como el hierro que quebranta todas estas cosas, desmenuzará y quebrantará.
And the fourth kingdom shall be strong as iron: forasmuch as iron breaketh in pieces and subdueth all things: and as iron that breaketh all these, shall it break in pieces and bruise.
The fourth kingdom will be strong as iron, because iron breaks in pieces and subdues all things; and as iron that crushes all these, it will break in pieces and crush.
Tal como usted vio, los pies y los dedos de los pies fueron hechos en parte de barro horneado y parte fueron hechos de hierro, así que será un reino dividido; algo de la fuerza del hierro estará en él, tal como usted vio el hierro mezclado con el barro blando.

And whereas thou sawest the feet and toes, part of potters’ clay, and part of iron, the kingdom shall be divided; but there shall be in it of the strength of the iron, forasmuch as thou sawest the iron mixed with miry clay.

Así como los dedos de los pies fueron hechos en parte de hierro y parte de barro, así el reino será fuerte en parte y frágil en parte.

And as the toes of the feet were part of iron, and part of clay, so the kingdom shall be partly strong, and partly broken.

Como usted vio el hierro mezclado con barro blando, así el pueblo será una mezcla; ellos no se mantendrán juntos, así como el hierro no se mezcla con el barro.
Cuanto á aquello que viste, el hierro mezclado con tiesto de barro, mezclaránse con simiente humana, mas no se pegarán el uno con el otro, como el hierro no se mistura con el tiesto.
And whereas thou sawest iron mixed with miry clay, they shall mingle themselves with the seed of men: but they shall not cleave one to another, even as iron is not mixed with clay.

En los días de esos reyes, el Dios del cielo establecerá un reino que jamás será destruido, ni tampoco será conquistado por otro pueblo. Romperá los otros reinos en pedazos y acabará con todos ellos, y permanecerá para siempre.
Y en los días de estos reyes, levantará el Dios del cielo un reino que nunca jamás se corromperá: y no será dejado á otro pueblo este reino; el cual desmenuzará y consumirá todos estos reinos, y él permanecerá para siempre.
And in the days of these kings shall the God of heaven set up a kingdom, which shall never be destroyed: and the kingdom shall not be left to other people, but it shall break in pieces and consume all these kingdoms, and it shall stand for ever.

Tal como usted vio, una piedra fue cortada de la montaña, pero no por manos humanas. Rompió el hierro, el bronce, el barro, la plata y el oro en pedazos. El gran Dios le ha dado a conocer a usted, rey, lo que sucederá después de esto. El sueño es verdadero y esta interpretación es confiable."
De la manera que viste que del monte fué cortada una piedra, no con manos, la cual desmenuzó al hierro, al metal, al tiesto, á la plata, y al oro; el gran Dios ha mostrado al rey lo que ha de acontecer en lo por venir: y el sueño es verdadero, y fiel su declaración.
Forasmuch as thou sawest that the stone was cut out of the mountain without hands, and that it brake in pieces the iron, the brass, the clay, the silver, and the gold; the great God hath made known to the king what shall come to pass hereafter: and the dream is certain, and the interpretation thereof sure.

El Rey Nabucodonosor cayó sobre su rostro delante de Daniel y lo honró; él ordenó que se hiciera una ofrenda y que el incienso fuera ofrecido a él.
Entonces el rey Nabucodonosor cayó sobre su rostro, y humillóse á Daniel, y mandó que le sacrificasen presentes y perfumes.

El rey dijo a Daniel: "Ciertamente tu Dios es el Dios de los dioses, el Señor de los reyes, y Aquel que revela misterios, pues has sido capaz de revelar este misterio."
El rey habló á Daniel, y dijo: Ciertamente que el Dios vuestro es Dios de dioses, y el Señor de los reyes, y el descubridor de los misterios, pues pudiste revelar este arcano.
The king answered unto Daniel, and said, Of a truth it is, that your God is a God of gods, and a Lord of kings, and a revealer of secrets, seeing thou couldest reveal this secret.

Entonces el rey honró altamente a Daniel y le dio muchos regalos maravillosos. Lo hizo gobernante sobre toda la provincia de Babilonia. Daniel vino a ser el principal gobernante sobre los hombres más sabios de Babilonia.
Entonces el rey engrandeció á Daniel, y le dió muchos y grandes dones, y púsolo por gobernador de toda la provincia de Babilonia, y por príncipe de los gobernadores sobre todos los sabios de Babilonia.
Then the king made Daniel a great man, and gave him many great gifts, and made him ruler over the whole province of Babylon, and chief of the governors over all the wise men of Babylon.

Daniel le hizo un pedido al rey, y el rey nombró a Sadrac, Mesac y Abed Nego para ser administradores sobre la provincia de Babilonia. Pero Daniel permaneció en el palacio del rey.
Y Daniel solicitó del rey, y él puso sobre los negocios de la provincia de Babilonia á Sadrach, Mesach, y Abed-nego: y Daniel estaba á la puerta del rey.
Then Daniel requested of the king, and he set Shadrach, Meshach, and Abed-nego, over the affairs of the province of Babylon: but Daniel sat in the gate of the king.
