Je veux, en effet, que vous sachiez combien est grand le combat que je soutiens pour vous, et pour ceux de Laodicée, et pour tous ceux qui ne m'ont jamais vu en personne.

PORQUE quiero que sepáis cuán gran solicitud tengo por vosotros, y por los que están en Laodicea, y por todos los que nunca vieron mi rostro en carne;

For I would that ye knew what great conflict I have for you, and for them at Laodicea, and for as many as have not seen my face in the flesh;

For I desire to have you know how greatly I struggle for you and for those at Laodicea, and for as many as have not seen my face in the flesh;

Afin que leurs cœurs soient consolés, et liés étroitement ensemble dans la charité, pour être enrichis d'une parfaite intelligence, pour connaître le mystère de Dieu le Père, et de Christ,

Para que sean confortados sus corazones, unidos en amor, y en todas riquezas de cumplido entendimiento para conocer el misterio de Dios, y del Padre, y de Cristo;

That their hearts might be comforted, being knit together in love, and unto all riches of the full assurance of understanding, to the acknowledgement of the mystery of God, and of the Father, and of Christ;

En qui sont renfermés tous les trésors de la sagesse et de la science.

En el cual están escondidos todos los tesoros de sabiduría y conocimiento.

Je dis ceci, afin que personne ne vous abuse par des discours séduisants.

Y esto digo, para que nadie os engañe con palabras persuasivas.

And this I say, lest any man should beguile you with enticing words.

Car, si je suis absent de corps, je suis pourtant avec vous en esprit, me réjouissant de voir parmi vous le bon ordre, et la fermeté de votre foi en Christ.

Porque aunque estoy ausente con el cuerpo, no obstante con el espíritu estoy con vosotros, gozándome y mirando vuestro concierto, y la firmeza de vuestra fe en Cristo.

For though I be absent in the flesh, yet am I with you in the spirit, joying and beholding your order, and the stedfastness of your faith in Christ.

Rooted and built up in him, and stablished in the faith, as ye have been taught, abounding therein with thanksgiving.

Prenez garde que personne ne vous séduise par la philosophie et par de vaines tromperies, selon la tradition des hommes, selon les rudiments du monde, et non selon Christ.

Mirad que ninguno os engañe por filosofías y vanas sutilezas, según las tradiciones de los hombres, conforme á los elementos del mundo, y no según Cristo:

Beware lest any man spoil you through philosophy and vain deceit, after the tradition of men, after the rudiments of the world, and not after Christ.

Be careful that you don’t let anyone rob you through his philosophy and vain deceit, after the tradition of men, after the elemental spirits of the world, and not after Christ.

Car en lui toute la plénitude de la divinité habite corporellement.

Porque en él habita toda la plenitud de la divinidad corporalmente:

For in him dwelleth all the fulness of the Godhead bodily.

Et vous avez toute plénitude en lui, qui est le chef de toute principauté et puissance.

Y en él estáis cumplidos, el cual es la cabeza de todo principado y potestad:

And ye are complete in him, which is the head of all principality and power:

En lui aussi vous avez été circoncis, d'une circoncision faite sans main, en dépouillant le corps des péchés de la chair, ce qui est la circoncision de Christ;

En el cual también sois circuncidados de circuncisión no hecha con manos, con el despojamiento del cuerpo de los pecados de la carne, en la circuncisión de Cristo;

In whom also ye are circumcised with the circumcision made without hands, in putting off the body of the sins of the flesh by the circumcision of Christ:

Ayant été ensevelis avec lui par le baptême; en lui aussi vous êtes ressuscités, par la foi en la puissance de Dieu, qui l'a ressuscité des morts.

Sepultados juntamente con él en el bautismo, en el cual también resucitasteis con él, por la fe de la operación de Dios que le levantó de los muertos.

Buried with him in baptism, wherein also ye are risen with him through the faith of the operation of God, who hath raised him from the dead.

Et quand vous étiez morts dans vos péchés et dans votre incirconcision charnelle, il vous a vivifiés avec lui, vous ayant pardonné toutes vos fautes.

And you, being dead in your sins and the uncircumcision of your flesh, hath he quickened together with him, having forgiven you all trespasses;

Il a effacé ce qui était contre nous, l'obligation des ordonnances qui s'élevait contre nous; et il l'a entièrement annulée, en l'attachant à la croix;

Rayendo la cédula de los ritos que nos era contraria, que era contra nosotros, quitándola de en medio y enclavándola en la cruz;

Blotting out the handwriting of ordinances that was against us, which was contrary to us, and took it out of the way, nailing it to his cross;

C'était l'ombre des choses qui devaient venir, mais le corps en est en Christ.

Lo cual es la sombra de lo por venir; mas el cuerpo es de Cristo.

Which are a shadow of things to come; but the body is of Christ.

Que personne ne vous ravisse le prix par une humilité affectée, et par le culte des anges, s'ingérant dans des choses qu'il n'a point vues, étant témérairement enflé de son sens charnel, et ne s'attachant pas au chef,

Let no man beguile you of your reward in a voluntary humility and worshipping of angels, intruding into those things which he hath not seen, vainly puffed up by his fleshly mind,

Let no one rob you of your prize by self-abasement and worshiping of the angels, dwelling in the things which he has not seen, vainly puffed up by his fleshly mind,

Duquel tout le corps, joint et étroitement uni au moyen des jointures et des liens, s'accroît d'un accroissement selon Dieu.

Y no teniendo la cabeza, de la cual todo el cuerpo, alimentado y conjunto por las ligaduras y conjunturas, crece en aumento de Dios.

And not holding the Head, from which all the body by joints and bands having nourishment ministered, and knit together, increaseth with the increase of God.

Si donc vous êtes morts avec Christ, quant aux rudiments du monde, pourquoi vous charge-t-on de ces préceptes, comme si vous viviez encore au monde?

Pues si sois muertos con Cristo cuanto á los rudimentos del mundo, ¿por qué como si vivieseis al mundo, os sometéis á ordenanzas,

Wherefore if ye be dead with Christ from the rudiments of the world, why, as though living in the world, are ye subject to ordinances,

If you died with Christ from the elemental spirits of the world, why, as though living in the world, do you subject yourselves to ordinances,

En vous disant: Ne mange pas, ne goûte pas, ne touche pas;

Tales como, No manejes, ni gustes, ni aun toques,

(Touch not; taste not; handle not;

“Don’t handle, nor taste, nor touch”

(Préceptes qui sont tous pernicieux par leurs abus) suivant les ordonnances et les doctrines des hommes,

(Las cuales cosas son todas para destrucción en el uso mismo), en conformidad á mandamientos y doctrinas de hombres?

Which all are to perish with the using;) after the commandments and doctrines of men?

(all of which perish with use), according to the precepts and doctrines of men?

Lesquelles ont, à la vérité, quelque apparence de sagesse dans un culte volontaire, et dans une certaine humilité, et dans une austérité du corps, qui n'a aucun égard à ce qui peut satisfaire la chair.

Tales cosas tienen á la verdad cierta reputación de sabiduría en culto voluntario, y humildad, y en duro trato del cuerpo; no en alguna honra para el saciar de la carne.

Which things have indeed a shew of wisdom in will worship, and humility, and neglecting of the body; not in any honour to the satisfying of the flesh.

These things indeed appear like wisdom in self-imposed worship, humility, and severity to the body, but aren’t of any value against the indulgence of the flesh.
