Esto es lo que el Señor Dios me mostró. ¡Mira, una canasta de frutas de verano!
ASÍ me ha mostrado Jehová: y he aquí un canastillo de fruta de verano.
Thus hath the Lord GOD shewed unto me: and behold a basket of summer fruit.

Él dijo: "¿Qué es lo que ves, Amos?" Yo dije: "Una canasta de frutas de verano." Luego el Señor me dijo: "El final ha llegado para mi pueblo Israel; Yo no voy a perdónarlos más.
Y dijo: ¿Qué ves, Amós? Y dije: Un canastillo de fruta de verano. Y díjome Jehová: Venido ha el fin sobre mi pueblo Israel; no le pasaré más.
And he said, Amos, what seest thou? And I said, A basket of summer fruit. Then said the LORD unto me, The end is come upon my people of Israel; I will not again pass by them any more.
He said, “Amos, what do you see?” I said, “A basket of summer fruit.” Then the LORD said to me, “The end has come on my people Israel. I will not again pass by them any more.
Las canciones del templo se convertirán en gemidos en ese día," esta es la declaración del Señor Dios. "Los cadáveres serán muchos, en cada lugar ellos los lanzarán en silencio!"
Y los cantores del templo aullarán en aquel día, dice el Señor Jehová; muchos serán los cuerpos muertos; en todo lugar echados serán en silencio.
And the songs of the temple shall be howlings in that day, saith the Lord GOD: there shall be many dead bodies in every place; they shall cast them forth with silence.
The songs of the temple will be wailing in that day,” says the Lord GOD. “The dead bodies will be many. In every place they will throw them out with silence.
Escuchen esto, ustedes que pisotean a los necesitados y eliminan los pobres de la tierra.
Oid esto, los que tragáis á los menesterosos, y arruináis los pobres de la tierra,
Hear this, O ye that swallow up the needy, even to make the poor of the land to fail,
Hear this, you who desire to swallow up the needy, and cause the poor of the land to fail,
Ellos dicen: "¿Cuándo pasará la luna nueva, para poder vender grano de nuevo? ¿Cuándo terminará el día de reposo, para que podamos vender trigo? Nosotros haremos la medida pequeña y aumentaremos el precio, mientras hacemos trampa con balanzas falsas.
Diciendo: ¿Cuándo pasará el mes, y venderemos el trigo; y la semana, y abriremos los alfolíes del pan, y achicaremos la medida, y engrandeceremos el precio, y falsearemos el peso engañoso;
Saying, When will the new moon be gone, that we may sell corn? and the sabbath, that we may set forth wheat, making the ephah small, and the shekel great, and falsifying the balances by deceit?
saying, ‘When will the new moon be gone, that we may sell grain? And the Sabbath, that we may market wheat, making the ephah small, and the shekel large, and dealing falsely with balances of deceit;
Esto es para que podamos vender trigo malo, comprar al pobre con plata, y al necesitados para un par de sandalias."
Para comprar los pobres por dinero, y los necesitados por un par de zapatos, y venderemos las aechaduras del trigo?
That we may buy the poor for silver, and the needy for a pair of shoes; yea, and sell the refuse of the wheat?

El Señor ha jurado por el orgullo de Jacob: "Ciertamente Yo nunca olvidaré ninguna de sus acciones."
Jehová juró por la gloria de Jacob: No me olvidaré para siempre de todas sus obras.
The LORD hath sworn by the excellency of Jacob, Surely I will never forget any of their works.

¿No temblará por esto la tierra, y todo el que viva en ella llorará? Todo se levantará como el Río Nilo, y será lanzado y hundido, como el río de Egipto.
¿No se ha de estremecer la tierra sobre esto? ¿y todo habitador de ella no llorará? y subirá toda como un río, y será arrojada, y hundiráse como el río de Egipto.
Shall not the land tremble for this, and every one mourn that dwelleth therein? and it shall rise up wholly as a flood; and it shall be cast out and drowned, as by the flood of Egypt.
Won’t the land tremble for this, and everyone mourn who dwells in it? Yes, it will rise up wholly like the River; and it will be stirred up and sink again, like the River of Egypt.
"Vendrá en este día, esta es la declaración del Señor Dios: Yo haré la puesta del sol a mediodía, y Yo voy a oscurecer la tierra a la luz del día.
Y acaecerá en aquel día, dice el Señor Jehová, que haré se ponga el sol al mediodía, y la tierra cubriré de tinieblas en el día claro.
And it shall come to pass in that day, saith the Lord GOD, that I will cause the sun to go down at noon, and I will darken the earth in the clear day:

Yo voy a cambiar sus festivales en luto y todas sus canciones en lamentación. Yo haré que todos ustedes vistan tela de costal y tengan calvicie en cada cabeza. Yo haré que sea como luto por un hijo unigénito, y amargura en su día final.
Y tornaré vuestras fiestas en lloro, y todos vuestros cantares en endechas; y haré poner saco sobre todos lomos, y peladura sobre toda cabeza; y tornaréla como en llanto de unigénito, y su postrimería como día amargo.
And I will turn your feasts into mourning, and all your songs into lamentation; and I will bring up sackcloth upon all loins, and baldness upon every head; and I will make it as the mourning of an only son, and the end thereof as a bitter day.

Mira, los días estan viniendo, esta es la declaración del Señor Dios, cuando Yo enviaré una hambruna en la tierra, no una hambre de pan, ni sed de agua, pero por oír las palabras del Señor.
He aquí vienen días, dice el Señor Jehová, en los cuales enviaré hambre á la tierra, no hambre de pan, ni sed de agua, sino de oir palabra de Jehová.
Behold, the days come, saith the Lord GOD, that I will send a famine in the land, not a famine of bread, nor a thirst for water, but of hearing the words of the LORD:

Ellos tambalearán de mar a mar; ellos correrán desde el norte hacia el este para buscar la palabra del Señor, pero no la encontrarán.

And they shall wander from sea to sea, and from the north even to the east, they shall run to and fro to seek the word of the LORD, and shall not find it.

En ese día, las hermosas vírgenes y los jóvenes se desmayarán de sed.
En aquel tiempo las doncellas hermosas y los mancebos desmayarán de sed.
In that day shall the fair virgins and young men faint for thirst.

Aquellos que juran por el pecado de Samaria, ellos caerán y nunca volverán a levantarse."
Los que juran por el pecado de Samaria, y dicen, Vive tu Dios de Dan: y, Vive el camino de Beer-seba: caerán, y nunca más se levantarán.
They that swear by the sin of Samaria, and say, Thy god, O Dan, liveth; and, The manner of Beer-sheba liveth; even they shall fall, and never rise up again.
Those who swear by the sin of Samaria, and say, ‘As your god, Dan, lives,’ and, ‘As the way of Beersheba lives,’ they will fall, and never rise up again.”
