1Die Worte des Amos, der zu den Herdenbesitzern von Thekoa gehörte, die er über Israel geschaut hat zur Zeit des judäischen Königs Usia und zur Zeit des israelitischen Königs Jerobeam, des Sohnes des Joas, zwei Jahre vor dem Erdbeben.
2Und er sprach: Jahwe wird strafen, sowohl die Israel benachbarten Völker als auch besonders Israel selbst. Jahwe brüllt vom Zion her und aus Jerusalem läßt er seine Stimme erschallen. Da werden die Auen der Hirten verwelken, und der Gipfel des Karmel verdorren.
3So spricht Jahwe: Wegen der drei, ja vier Schandthaten der Aramäer von Damaskus will ich's nicht rückgängig machen - weil sie Dreschschlitten mit eisernen Schneiden über Gilead haben fahren lassen.
4Darum werde ich Feuer gegen das Reich Hasaels entsenden, das soll die Burgen Benhadads verzehren.
5Ich werde den Riegel von Damaskus zerbrechen und die Bewohner ausrotten aus dem Frevelthal und den Szepterträger aus dem Lusthause, und das Volk der Aramäer soll nach Kir in die Verbannung gehen, spricht Jahwe.
6So spricht Jahwe: Wegen der drei, ja vier Schandthaten der Philister von Gaza will ich's nicht rückgängig machen - weil sie gleich ganze Ortschaften hinweggeführt haben, um sie an die Edomiter auszuliefern.
7Darum werde ich Feuer gegen die Mauern Gazas entsenden, das soll ihre Burgen verzehren.
8Ich werde die Bewohner aus Asdod ausrotten und den Szepterträger aus Askalon und dann meine Hand umwenden gegen Ekron, daß der Rest der Philister zu Grunde gehen soll, spricht der Herr Jahwe.
9So spricht Jahwe: Wegen der drei, ja vier Schandthaten der Phönizier von Tyrus will ich's nicht rückgängig machen - weil sie gleich ganze Ortschaften gefangen an die Edomiter ausgeliefert haben und des Bruderbundes nicht eingedenk waren.
10Darum werde ich Feuer gegen die Mauer von Tyrus entsenden, das soll ihre Burgen verzehren.
11So spricht Jahwe: Wegen der drei, ja vier Schandthaten der Edomiter will ich's nicht rückgängig machen - weil sie mit dem Schwert ihr Brudervolk verfolgt und beharrlich ihr Mitgefühl erstickt haben, weil sie beständig in ihrem Zorne verharrten und ihren Ingrimm niemals fahren ließen.
12Darum werde ich Feuer gegen Theman entsenden, das soll die Burgen von Bosra verzehren.
13So spricht Jahwe: Wegen der drei, ja vier Schandthaten der Ammoniter will ich's nicht rückgängig machen - weil sie die Schwangeren in Gilead aufgeschlitzt haben, um ihr Gebiet zu erweitern.
14Darum werde ich Feuer gegen die Mauer von Rabba entsenden, das soll ihre Burgen verzehren, unter Kriegsgeschrei am Tage der Schlacht, unter Sturm am Tage des Unwetters.
15Und Milkom muß in Gefangenschaft wandern, seine Priester und Oberen miteinander, spricht Jahwe.

1LAS palabras de Amós, que fué entre los pastores de Tecoa, las cuales vió acerca de Israel en días de Uzzía rey de Judá, y en días de Jeroboam hijo de Joas rey de Israel, dos años antes del terremoto.
2Y dijo: Jehová bramará desde Sión, y dará su voz desde Jerusalem; y las estancias de los pastores se enlutarán, y secaráse la cumbre del Carmelo.
3Así ha dicho Jehová: Por tres pecados de Damasco, y por el cuarto, no desviaré su castigo; porque trillaron á Galaad con trillos de hierro.
4Y meteré fuego en la casa de Hazael, y consumirá los palacios de Benhadad.
5Y quebraré la barra de Damasco, y talaré los moradores de Bicath-aven, y los gobernadores de Beth-eden: y el pueblo de Aram será trasportado á Chîr, dice Jehová.
6Así ha dicho Jehová: Por tres pecados de Gaza, y por el cuarto, no desviaré su castigo; porque llevó cautiva toda la cautividad, para entregarlos á Edom.
7Y meteré fuego en el muro de Gaza, y quemará sus palacios.
8Y talaré los moradores de Azoto, y los gobernadores de Ascalón: y tornaré mi mano sobre Ecrón, y las reliquias de los Palestinos perecerán, ha dicho el Señor Jehová.
9Así ha dicho Jehová: Por tres pecados de Tiro, y por el cuarto, no desviaré su castigo; porque entregaron la cautividad entera á Edom, y no se acordaron del concierto de hermanos.
10Y meteré fuego en el muro de Tiro, y consumirá sus palacios.
11Así ha dicho Jehová: Por tres pecados de Edom, y por el cuarto, no desviaré su castigo; porque persiguió á cuchillo á su hermano, y rompió sus conmiseraciones; y con su furor le ha robado siempre, y ha perpetuamente guardado el enojo.
12Y meteré fuego en Temán, y consumirá los palacios de Bosra.
13Así ha dicho Jehová: Por tres pecados de los hijos de Ammón, y por el cuarto, no desviaré su castigo; porque abrieron las preñadas de Galaad, para ensanchar su término.
14Y encenderé fuego en el muro de Rabba, y consumirá sus palacios con estruendo en día de batalla, con tempestad en día tempestuoso:
15Y su rey irá en cautiverio, él y sus príncipes todos, dice Jehová.

1The words of Amos, who was among the herdmen of Tekoa, which he saw concerning Israel in the days of Uzziah king of Judah, and in the days of Jeroboam the son of Joash king of Israel, two years before the earthquake.
2And he said, The LORD will roar from Zion, and utter his voice from Jerusalem; and the habitations of the shepherds shall mourn, and the top of Carmel shall wither.
3Thus saith the LORD; For three transgressions of Damascus, and for four, I will not turn away the punishment thereof; because they have threshed Gilead with threshing instruments of iron:
4But I will send a fire into the house of Hazael, which shall devour the palaces of Ben-hadad.
5I will break also the bar of Damascus, and cut off the inhabitant from the plain of Aven, and him that holdeth the sceptre from the house of Eden: and the people of Syria shall go into captivity unto Kir, saith the LORD.
6Thus saith the LORD; For three transgressions of Gaza, and for four, I will not turn away the punishment thereof; because they carried away captive the whole captivity, to deliver them up to Edom:
7But I will send a fire on the wall of Gaza, which shall devour the palaces thereof:
8And I will cut off the inhabitant from Ashdod, and him that holdeth the sceptre from Ashkelon, and I will turn mine hand against Ekron: and the remnant of the Philistines shall perish, saith the Lord GOD.
9Thus saith the LORD; For three transgressions of Tyrus, and for four, I will not turn away the punishment thereof; because they delivered up the whole captivity to Edom, and remembered not the brotherly covenant:
10But I will send a fire on the wall of Tyrus, which shall devour the palaces thereof.
11Thus saith the LORD; For three transgressions of Edom, and for four, I will not turn away the punishment thereof; because he did pursue his brother with the sword, and did cast off all pity, and his anger did tear perpetually, and he kept his wrath for ever:
12But I will send a fire upon Teman, which shall devour the palaces of Bozrah.
13Thus saith the LORD; For three transgressions of the children of Ammon, and for four, I will not turn away the punishment thereof; because they have ripped up the women with child of Gilead, that they might enlarge their border:
14But I will kindle a fire in the wall of Rabbah, and it shall devour the palaces thereof, with shouting in the day of battle, with a tempest in the day of the whirlwind:
15And their king shall go into captivity, he and his princes together, saith the LORD.

13The LORD says: “For three transgressions of the children of Ammon, yes, for four, I will not turn away its punishment, because they have ripped open the pregnant women of Gilead, that they may enlarge their border.
14But I will kindle a fire in the wall of Rabbah, and it will devour its palaces, with shouting in the day of battle, with a storm in the day of the whirlwind;
15and their king will go into captivity, he and his princes together,” says the LORD.
