1Paroles d'Amos, qui était parmi les bergers de Tekoa, ce qu'il vit au sujet d'Israël aux jours d'Ozias, roi de Juda, et aux jours de Jéroboam, fils de Joas, roi d'Israël, deux ans avant le tremblement de terre.
2Il dit : « De Sion, le SEIGNEUR rugira, et de Jérusalem il fera retentir sa voix ; les pâturages des bergers prendront le deuil, et le sommet du Carmel se desséchera. »
3Ainsi parle le SEIGNEUR : « À cause de trois transgressions de Damas, et même de quatre, je ne révoquerai pas son châtiment, car ils ont foulé Galaad avec des traîneaux de fer ;
4mais j'enverrai le feu dans la maison de Hazaël, et il dévorera les palais de Ben-Hadad.
5Je briserai le verrou de Damas, j'exterminerai l'habitant de la vallée d'Aven, et celui qui tient le sceptre de la maison d'Éden ; et le peuple de Syrie ira en captivité à Kir, » dit le SEIGNEUR.
6Ainsi parle le SEIGNEUR : « À cause de trois transgressions de Gaza, et même de quatre, je ne révoquerai pas son châtiment, car ils ont emmené captive toute la population, pour la livrer à Édom ;
7mais j'enverrai le feu sur la muraille de Gaza, et il dévorera ses palais.
8J'exterminerai l'habitant d'Ashdod, et celui qui tient le sceptre d'Ashkelon ; et je tournerai ma main contre Ékron ; et le reste des Philistins périra, » dit le Seigneur DIEU.
9Ainsi parle le SEIGNEUR : « À cause de trois transgressions de Tyr, et même de quatre, je ne révoquerai pas son châtiment ; car ils ont livré toute la population à Édom, et ne se sont pas souvenus de l'alliance fraternelle ;
10mais j'enverrai le feu sur la muraille de Tyr, et il dévorera ses palais. »
11Ainsi parle le SEIGNEUR : « À cause de trois transgressions d'Édom, et même de quatre, je ne révoquerai pas son châtiment, car il a poursuivi son frère avec l'épée et a étouffé toute pitié, et sa colère a sévi continuellement, et il a gardé sa fureur à toujours ;
12mais j'enverrai le feu sur Théman, et il dévorera les palais de Botsra. »
13Ainsi parle le SEIGNEUR : « À cause de trois transgressions des enfants d'Ammon, et même de quatre, je ne révoquerai pas son châtiment, car ils ont fendu le ventre des femmes enceintes de Galaad, afin d'agrandir leur territoire.
14Mais j'allumerai le feu dans la muraille de Rabba, et il dévorera ses palais, au milieu des cris de guerre au jour de la bataille, dans la tempête au jour de l'ouragan ;
15et leur roi ira en captivité, lui et ses princes ensemble, » dit le SEIGNEUR.

1LAS palabras de Amós, que fué entre los pastores de Tecoa, las cuales vió acerca de Israel en días de Uzzía rey de Judá, y en días de Jeroboam hijo de Joas rey de Israel, dos años antes del terremoto.
2Y dijo: Jehová bramará desde Sión, y dará su voz desde Jerusalem; y las estancias de los pastores se enlutarán, y secaráse la cumbre del Carmelo.
3Así ha dicho Jehová: Por tres pecados de Damasco, y por el cuarto, no desviaré su castigo; porque trillaron á Galaad con trillos de hierro.
4Y meteré fuego en la casa de Hazael, y consumirá los palacios de Benhadad.
5Y quebraré la barra de Damasco, y talaré los moradores de Bicath-aven, y los gobernadores de Beth-eden: y el pueblo de Aram será trasportado á Chîr, dice Jehová.
6Así ha dicho Jehová: Por tres pecados de Gaza, y por el cuarto, no desviaré su castigo; porque llevó cautiva toda la cautividad, para entregarlos á Edom.
7Y meteré fuego en el muro de Gaza, y quemará sus palacios.
8Y talaré los moradores de Azoto, y los gobernadores de Ascalón: y tornaré mi mano sobre Ecrón, y las reliquias de los Palestinos perecerán, ha dicho el Señor Jehová.
9Así ha dicho Jehová: Por tres pecados de Tiro, y por el cuarto, no desviaré su castigo; porque entregaron la cautividad entera á Edom, y no se acordaron del concierto de hermanos.
10Y meteré fuego en el muro de Tiro, y consumirá sus palacios.
11Así ha dicho Jehová: Por tres pecados de Edom, y por el cuarto, no desviaré su castigo; porque persiguió á cuchillo á su hermano, y rompió sus conmiseraciones; y con su furor le ha robado siempre, y ha perpetuamente guardado el enojo.
12Y meteré fuego en Temán, y consumirá los palacios de Bosra.
13Así ha dicho Jehová: Por tres pecados de los hijos de Ammón, y por el cuarto, no desviaré su castigo; porque abrieron las preñadas de Galaad, para ensanchar su término.
14Y encenderé fuego en el muro de Rabba, y consumirá sus palacios con estruendo en día de batalla, con tempestad en día tempestuoso:
15Y su rey irá en cautiverio, él y sus príncipes todos, dice Jehová.

1The words of Amos, who was among the herdmen of Tekoa, which he saw concerning Israel in the days of Uzziah king of Judah, and in the days of Jeroboam the son of Joash king of Israel, two years before the earthquake.
2And he said, The LORD will roar from Zion, and utter his voice from Jerusalem; and the habitations of the shepherds shall mourn, and the top of Carmel shall wither.
3Thus saith the LORD; For three transgressions of Damascus, and for four, I will not turn away the punishment thereof; because they have threshed Gilead with threshing instruments of iron:
4But I will send a fire into the house of Hazael, which shall devour the palaces of Ben-hadad.
5I will break also the bar of Damascus, and cut off the inhabitant from the plain of Aven, and him that holdeth the sceptre from the house of Eden: and the people of Syria shall go into captivity unto Kir, saith the LORD.
6Thus saith the LORD; For three transgressions of Gaza, and for four, I will not turn away the punishment thereof; because they carried away captive the whole captivity, to deliver them up to Edom:
7But I will send a fire on the wall of Gaza, which shall devour the palaces thereof:
8And I will cut off the inhabitant from Ashdod, and him that holdeth the sceptre from Ashkelon, and I will turn mine hand against Ekron: and the remnant of the Philistines shall perish, saith the Lord GOD.

11Thus saith the LORD; For three transgressions of Edom, and for four, I will not turn away the punishment thereof; because he did pursue his brother with the sword, and did cast off all pity, and his anger did tear perpetually, and he kept his wrath for ever:
12But I will send a fire upon Teman, which shall devour the palaces of Bozrah.
13Thus saith the LORD; For three transgressions of the children of Ammon, and for four, I will not turn away the punishment thereof; because they have ripped up the women with child of Gilead, that they might enlarge their border:
14But I will kindle a fire in the wall of Rabbah, and it shall devour the palaces thereof, with shouting in the day of battle, with a tempest in the day of the whirlwind:
15And their king shall go into captivity, he and his princes together, saith the LORD.
