Stefano avuta la permissione di rispondere, dice molte cose intorno all'alleanza di Dio con Abramo, e co' suoi discendenti; di Mosè, e dell'uscita de’ figliuoli d'Israele dall'Egitto, e del tabernacolo, e del tempio edificato da Salomone, riprendendo i Giudei per avere ed essi, e i padri loro resistito allo Spirito Santo. Dicendo poi, che vedeva Gesù sedente alla destra di Dio, egli è lapidato, deponendo i testimoni e le vesti loro ai piedi di Saulo. Egli prega per coloro, che lo lapidavano.
