y les dijo: "Hombres, yo veo que el viaje que estamos a punto de tomar será con daño y mucha pérdida, no solo de la carga y del barco, sino también de nuestras vidas."
Diciéndoles: Varones, veo que con trabajo y mucho daño, no sólo de la cargazón y de la nave, mas aun de nuestras personas, habrá de ser la navegación.
And said unto them, Sirs, I perceive that this voyage will be with hurt and much damage, not only of the lading and ship, but also of our lives.

Pero el centurión puso más atención al capitán y al dueño del barco, que a aquellas cosas que fueron dichas por Pablo.

Nevertheless the centurion believed the master and the owner of the ship, more than those things which were spoken by Paul.
But the centurion gave more heed to the master and to the owner of the ship than to those things which were spoken by Paul.
Debido a que en el puerto no era fácil para pasar el invierno, la mayoría de los marineros aconsejaron zarpar de allí, por si de alguna manera fuera posible llegar a la cuidad de Fenice, para pasar el invierno allí. Fenice es un puerto en Creta, orientado hacia el noreste y sureste.
Y no habiendo puerto cómodo para invernar, muchos acordaron pasar aún de allí, por si pudiesen arribar á Fenice é invernar allí, que es un puerto de Creta que mira al Nordeste y Sudeste.
And because the haven was not commodious to winter in, the more part advised to depart thence also, if by any means they might attain to Phenice, and there to winter; which is an haven of Crete, and lieth toward the south west and north west.

Cuando el barco fue atrapado y no lo podíamos mantener de cara al viento, nos dejamos llevar y fuimos a la deriva.

And when the ship was caught, and could not bear up into the wind, we let her drive.

Nosotros fuimos llevados a lo largo del lado protegido de una isla pequeña llamada Cauda; y con dificultad fuimos capaces de asegurar el bote salvavidas.

And running under a certain island which is called Clauda, we had much work to come by the boat:

Cuando ellos lo subieron, usaron cuerdas para atar el casco de la nave. Ellos temían que fueramos a encayar en los bancos de arena de Sirte, así que soltaron el ancla y fuimos llevados a lo largo.
El cual tomado, usaban de remedios, ciñendo la nave; y teniendo temor de que diesen en la Sirte, abajadas las velas, eran así llevados.
Which when they had taken up, they used helps, undergirding the ship; and, fearing lest they should fall into the quicksands, strake sail, and so were driven.
After they had hoisted it up, they used cables to help reinforce the ship. Fearing that they would run aground on the Syrtis sand bars, they lowered the sea anchor, and so were driven along.

Cuando el sol y las estrellas no brillaban sobre nosotros por muchos días, y la gran tormenta todavía azotaba sobre nosotros, cualquier esperanza de que nosotros seríamos salvados fue abandonada.
Y no pareciendo sol ni estrellas por muchos días, y viniendo una tempestad no pequeña, ya era perdida toda la esperanza de nuestra salud.
And when neither sun nor stars in many days appeared, and no small tempest lay on us, all hope that we should be saved was then taken away.

Cuando ellos se quedaron sin comida, Pablo entonces se paró entre los marineros y dijo: "Hombres, ustedes debieron haberme escuchado, y no haber zarpado de Creta, y así no haber tenido este daño y pérdida.
Entonces Pablo, habiendo ya mucho que no comíamos, puesto en pie en medio de ellos, dijo: Fuera de cierto conveniente, oh varones, haberme oído, y no partir de Creta, y evitar este inconveniente y daño.
But after long abstinence Paul stood forth in the midst of them, and said, Sirs, ye should have hearkened unto me, and not have loosed from Crete, and to have gained this harm and loss.
When they had been long without food, Paul stood up in the middle of them and said, “Sirs, you should have listened to me, and not have set sail from Crete and have gotten this injury and loss.
Ahora yo los animo que tengan valor, porque no habrá ninguna pérdida de vida entre ustedes, sino solo la pérdida del barco.
Mas ahora os amonesto que tengáis buen ánimo; porque ninguna pérdida habrá de persona de vosotros, sino solamente de la nave.
And now I exhort you to be of good cheer: for there shall be no loss of any man’s life among you, but of the ship.

Pues anoche un ángel de el Dios a quién yo pertenezco, a quién también adoro, Su ángel se paró a mi lado

Cuando llegó la noche catorce, mientras eramos guiados de esta manera en el mar Adriático, cerca de la media noche los marineros pensaron que se estaban acercando a alguna tierra.
Y venida la décimacuarta noche, y siendo llevados por el mar Adriático, los marineros á la media noche sospecharon que estaban cerca de alguna tierra;
But when the fourteenth night was come, as we were driven up and down in Adria, about midnight the shipmen deemed that they drew near to some country;

Ellos estaban temerosos de que pudiéramos chocar contra las rocas, así que ellos bajaron cuatro anclas desde la popa y oraron que la mañana llegara pronto.
Y habiendo temor de dar en lugares escabrosos, echando cuatro anclas de la popa, deseaban que se hiciese de día.
Then fearing lest we should have fallen upon rocks, they cast four anchors out of the stern, and wished for the day.
Fearing that we would run aground on rocky ground, they let go four anchors from the stern, and wished for daylight.
Los marineros estaban buscando la manera de abandonar el barco y habían bajado el bote salvavidas en el mar, y pretendían que ellos podrían tirar las anclas desde la proa.
Entonces procurando los marineros huir de la nave, echado que hubieron el esquife á la mar, aparentando como que querían largar las anclas de proa,
And as the shipmen were about to flee out of the ship, when they had let down the boat into the sea, under colour as though they would have cast anchors out of the foreship,

Pero Pablo le dijo al centurión y a los soldados: "A menos que estos hombres se queden en el barco, ustedes no podran salvarse."

Paul said to the centurion and to the soldiers, Except these abide in the ship, ye cannot be saved.

Entonces los soldados cortaron las sogas del bote y dejaron que se alejara.

Cuando la luz del día se acercaba, Pablo les insistió a que tomaran algún alimento. Él dijo: "Este es el día catorce que ustedes esperan y no comen; ustedes no han comido nada.
Y como comenzó á ser de día, Pablo exhortaba á todos que comiesen, diciendo: Este es el décimocuarto día que esperáis y permanecéis ayunos, no comiendo nada.
And while the day was coming on, Paul besought them all to take meat, saying, This day is the fourteenth day that ye have tarried and continued fasting, having taken nothing.

Así que yo les ruego que tomen algún alimento, pues esto es para su sobreviviencia. Pues ninguno de ustedes perderá ni un solo cabello de su cabeza."
Por tanto, os ruego que comáis por vuestra salud: que ni aun un cabello de la cabeza de ninguno de vosotros perecerá.
Wherefore I pray you to take some meat: for this is for your health: for there shall not an hair fall from the head of any of you.
Therefore I beg you to take some food, for this is for your safety; for not a hair will perish from any of your heads.”
Cuando él hubo dicho esto, él tomó pan y le dio gracias a Dios a la vista de todos. Entonces él partió el pan y comenzó a comer.
Y habiendo dicho esto, tomando el pan, hizo gracias á Dios en presencia de todos, y partiendo, comenzó á comer.
And when he had thus spoken, he took bread, and gave thanks to God in presence of them all: and when he had broken it, he began to eat.

Entonces, todos ellos fueron animados y también tomaron alimento.

And when it was day, they knew not the land: but they discovered a certain creek with a shore, into the which they were minded, if it were possible, to thrust in the ship.

Así ellos cortaron las anclas y las dejaron en el mar. Al mismo tiempo ellos desataron las cuerdas de los timones y levantaron la vela de proa al viento; y así se dirigieron a la playa.

And when they had taken up the anchors, they committed themselves unto the sea, and loosed the rudder bands, and hoised up the mainsail to the wind, and made toward shore.
Casting off the anchors, they left them in the sea, at the same time untying the rudder ropes. Hoisting up the foresail to the wind, they made for the beach.
Pero ellos llegaron a un lugar donde dos corrientes se encuentran, y el barco encayó. La proa del barco se atascó allí y permaneció inmóvil, pero la popa comenzó a romperse debido a la violencia de las olas.
Mas dando en un lugar de dos aguas, hicieron encallar la nave; y la proa, hincada, estaba sin moverse, y la popa se abría con la fuerza de la mar.
And falling into a place where two seas met, they ran the ship aground; and the forepart stuck fast, and remained unmoveable, but the hinder part was broken with the violence of the waves.
But coming to a place where two seas met, they ran the vessel aground. The bow struck and remained immovable, but the stern began to break up by the violence of the waves.

Luego el resto de los hombres debían seguirlos, algunos en tablones y otros en otras cosas del barco. De esta manera sucedió que todos llegamos seguros a tierra.
Y los demás, parte en tablas, parte en cosas de la nave. Y así aconteció que todos se salvaron saliendo á tierra.
And the rest, some on boards, and some on broken pieces of the ship. And so it came to pass, that they escaped all safe to land.
and the rest should follow, some on planks and some on other things from the ship. So they all escaped safely to the land.
