Ma essendoci imbattuti in una punta di terra, che aveva da' due lati il mare, arrenarono: e la prora affondatasi rimanea immobile; la poppa poi per la violenza del mare veniva a sfasciarsi.

Mas dando en un lugar de dos aguas, hicieron encallar la nave; y la proa, hincada, estaba sin moverse, y la popa se abría con la fuerza de la mar.

And falling into a place where two seas met, they ran the ship aground; and the forepart stuck fast, and remained unmoveable, but the hinder part was broken with the violence of the waves.

But coming to a place where two seas met, they ran the vessel aground. The bow struck and remained immovable, but the stern began to break up by the violence of the waves.
