El cual también tentó á violar el templo; y prendiéndole, le quisimos juzgar conforme á nuestra ley:
Who also hath gone about to profane the temple: whom we took, and would have judged according to our law.

Da kam der Tribun Lysias dazwischen, entriß ihn mit großer Gewalt unseren Händen und erklärte, die Ankläger möchten zu dir kommen.

Mandando á sus acusadores que viniesen á ti; del cual tú mismo juzgando, podrás entender todas estas cosas de que le acusamos.
Commanding his accusers to come unto thee: by examining of whom thyself mayest take knowledge of all these things, whereof we accuse him.
By examining him yourself you may ascertain all these things of which we accuse him.”
Diesen Angaben schlossen sich die Juden an und versicherten, daß es sich so verhalte.
Y contendían también los Judíos, diciendo ser así estas cosas.

Auf einen Wink des Statthalters ergriff Paulus das Wort zur Entgegnung: "Weil ich weiß, daß du seit langen Jahren schon Richter über dieses Volk bist, deshalb verteidige ich guten Mutes meine Sache.

Then Paul, after that the governor had beckoned unto him to speak, answered, Forasmuch as I know that thou hast been of many years a judge unto this nation, I do the more cheerfully answer for myself:
When the governor had beckoned to him to speak, Paul answered, “Because I know that you have been a judge of this nation for many years, I cheerfully make my defense,
Wie du feststellen lassen kannst, sind es nicht mehr als zwölf Tage her, seitdem ich meine Wallfahrt nach Jerusalem gemacht habe.
Porque tú puedes entender que no hace más de doce días que subí á adorar á Jerusalem;
Because that thou mayest understand, that there are yet but twelve days since I went up to Jerusalem for to worship.

Doch weder im Tempel noch in den Synagogen, noch in der Stadt hat man mich angetroffen, daß ich mit jemandem gestritten oder einen Volksaufruhr angestiftet hätte.

And they neither found me in the temple disputing with any man, neither raising up the people, neither in the synagogues, nor in the city:
In the temple they didn’t find me disputing with anyone or stirring up a crowd, either in the synagogues or in the city.
Sie können dir auch keinerlei Beweise für das vorbringen, wessen sie mich jetzt anklagen.

Es müßte denn dies eine Wort nur sein, das ich, als ich vor ihnen stand, laut ausrief: 'Der Auferstehung von den Toten wegen stehe ich heute vor euch als Angeklagter.'"

Obwohl Felix eine genaue Kenntnis der in Frage stehenden Lehre hatte, vertagte er doch die Sache und sagte: "Wenn der Befehlshaber Lysias herabkommt, werde ich euren Fall genauer untersuchen."
Entonces Félix, oídas estas cosas, estando bien informado de esta secta, les puso dilación, diciendo: Cuando descendiere el tribuno Lisias acabaré de conocer de vuestro negocio.
And when Felix heard these things, having more perfect knowledge of that way, he deferred them, and said, When Lysias the chief captain shall come down, I will know the uttermost of your matter.
But Felix, having more exact knowledge concerning the Way, deferred them, saying, “When Lysias, the commanding officer, comes down, I will decide your case.”
Er gab dem Hauptmann die Weisung, ihn in milder Haft zu halten und keinen von den Seinigen zu hindern, ihm Dienste zu leisten.
Y mandó al centurión que Pablo fuese guardado, y aliviado de las prisiones; y que no vedase á ninguno de sus familiares servirle, ó venir á él.
And he commanded a centurion to keep Paul, and to let him have liberty, and that he should forbid none of his acquaintance to minister or come unto him.
He ordered the centurion that Paul should be kept in custody and should have some privileges, and not to forbid any of his friends to serve him or to visit him.
Einige Tage später kam Felix mit seiner Gemahlin Drusilla, einer Jüdin; er ließ den Paulus rufen und hörte ihn an über den Glauben an Christus Jesus.
Y algunos días después, viniendo Félix con Drusila, su mujer, la cual era Judía, llamó á Pablo, y oyó de él la fe que es en Jesucristo.
And after certain days, when Felix came with his wife Drusilla, which was a Jewess, he sent for Paul, and heard him concerning the faith in Christ.
After some days, Felix came with Drusilla his wife, who was a Jewess, and sent for Paul and heard him concerning the faith in Christ Jesus.
Da er aber von Gerechtigkeit, Enthaltsamkeit und dem künftigen Gerichte sprach, ward Felix betroffen und sagte: "Für jetzt kannst du gehen; wenn ich einmal Zeit habe, werde ich dich wieder rufen lassen."
Y disertando él de la justicia, y de la continencia, y del juicio venidero, espantado Félix, respondió: Ahora vete; mas en teniendo oportunidad te llamaré:
And as he reasoned of righteousness, temperance, and judgment to come, Felix trembled, and answered, Go thy way for this time; when I have a convenient season, I will call for thee.
As he reasoned about righteousness, self-control, and the judgment to come, Felix was terrified, and answered, “Go your way for this time, and when it is convenient for me, I will summon you.”
Zugleich hoffte er auch, von Paulus Geld zu erhalten. Deshalb ließ er ihn auch öfters kommen und unterhielt sich mit ihm.
Esperando también con esto, que de parte de Pablo le serían dados dineros, porque le soltase; por lo cual, haciéndole venir muchas veces, hablaba con él.
He hoped also that money should have been given him of Paul, that he might loose him: wherefore he sent for him the oftener, and communed with him.
Meanwhile, he also hoped that money would be given to him by Paul, that he might release him. Therefore also he sent for him more often and talked with him.
Volle zwei Jahre später erhielt Felix in Porzius Festus einen Nachfolger. Felix wollte sich die Juden zum Dank verpflichten und ließ darum Paulus in der Gefangenschaft zurück.
Mas al cabo de dos años recibió Félix por sucesor á Porcio Festo: y queriendo Félix ganar la gracia de los Judíos, dejó preso á Pablo.
But after two years Porcius Festus came into Felix’ room: and Felix, willing to shew the Jews a pleasure, left Paul bound.
But when two years were fulfilled, Felix was succeeded by Porcius Festus, and desiring to gain favor with the Jews, Felix left Paul in bonds.
