The former treatise have I made, O Theophilus, of all that Jesus began both to do and teach,
The first book I wrote, Theophilus, concerned all that Jesus began both to do and to teach,
hasta el día en que fue recibido arriba. Esto fue después de que Él había dado un mandato por medio del Espíritu Santo a los apóstoles que Él había escogido.

Until the day in which he was taken up, after that he through the Holy Ghost had given commandments unto the apostles whom he had chosen:
until the day in which he was received up, after he had given commandment through the Holy Spirit to the apostles whom he had chosen.
Después de Su sufrimiento, Él se presentó vivo a ellos con muchas pruebas convincentes. Por cuarenta días Él se apareció a ellos, y habló acerca del reino de Dios.

To whom also he shewed himself alive after his passion by many infallible proofs, being seen of them forty days, and speaking of the things pertaining to the kingdom of God:

For John truly baptized with water; but ye shall be baptized with the Holy Ghost not many days hence.
For John indeed baptized in water, but you will be baptized in the Holy Spirit not many days from now.”
Cuando ellos estaban reunidos en asamblea Le preguntaron: "¿Señor, éste es el tiempo en que tú restaurarás el reino a Israel?"
Entonces los que se habían juntado le preguntaron, diciendo: Señor, ¿restituirás el reino á Israel en este tiempo?
When they therefore were come together, they asked of him, saying, Lord, wilt thou at this time restore again the kingdom to Israel?
Therefore, when they had come together, they asked him, “Lord, are you now restoring the kingdom to Israel?”
Él les dijo: "No es para ustedes saber los tiempos ni las estaciones las cuales el Padre ha determinado por su propia autoridad.
Y les dijo: No toca á vosotros saber los tiempos ó las sazones que el Padre puso en su sola potestad;
And he said unto them, It is not for you to know the times or the seasons, which the Father hath put in his own power.
He said to them, “It isn’t for you to know times or seasons which the Father has set within his own authority.
Pero ustedes recibirán poder, cuando el Espíritu Santo venga sobre ustedes, y serán Mis testigos en Jerusalén y en toda Judea y Samaria y hasta los fines de la tierra."
Mas recibiréis la virtud del Espíritu Santo que vendrá sobre vosotros; y me sereís testigos en Jerusalem, y en toda Judea, y Samaria, y hasta lo último de la tierra.
But ye shall receive power, after that the Holy Ghost is come upon you: and ye shall be witnesses unto me both in Jerusalem, and in all Judæa, and in Samaria, and unto the uttermost part of the earth.
But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you. You will be witnesses to me in Jerusalem, in all Judea and Samaria, and to the uttermost parts of the earth.”
Cuando el Señor Jesús había dicho estas cosas, mientras ellos estaban mirando arriba, Él fue levantado y una nube Lo escondió de sus ojos.
Y habiendo dicho estas cosas, viéndolo ellos, fué alzado; y una nube le recibió y le quitó de sus ojos.
And when he had spoken these things, while they beheld, he was taken up; and a cloud received him out of their sight.

Mientras ellos miraban intensamente al cielo cuando Él se iba, de repente, dos hombres se pararon junto a ellos con vestiduras blancas.
Y estando con los ojos puestos en el cielo, entre tanto que él iba, he aquí dos varones se pusieron junto á ellos en vestidos blancos;
And while they looked stedfastly toward heaven as he went up, behold, two men stood by them in white apparel;
While they were looking steadfastly into the sky as he went, behold, two men stood by them in white clothing,
Ellos dijeron: "Ustedes, hombres de Galilea, ¿por qué están aquí parados mirando al cielo? Este Jesús quien ascendió al cielo regresará de la misma manera como lo vieron yendo al cielo."
Los cuales también les dijeron: Varones Galileos, ¿qué estáis mirando al cielo? este mismo Jesús que ha sido tomado desde vosotros arriba en el cielo, así vendrá como le habéis visto ir al cielo.
Which also said, Ye men of Galilee, why stand ye gazing up into heaven? this same Jesus, which is taken up from you into heaven, shall so come in like manner as ye have seen him go into heaven.
who also said, “You men of Galilee, why do you stand looking into the sky? This Jesus, who was received up from you into the sky, will come back in the same way as you saw him going into the sky.”
Entonces ellos regresaron a Jerusalén desde el Monte de los Olivos, el cual está cerca de Jerusalén, una jornada de día Sábado.

Then returned they unto Jerusalem from the mount called Olivet, which is from Jerusalem a sabbath day’s journey.

And in those days Peter stood up in the midst of the disciples, and said, (the number of names together were about an hundred and twenty,)

"Hermanos, fue necesario que se cumpliera la Escritura, la cual el Espíritu Santo habló de antemano por boca de David acerca de Judas, quien guió a los que arrestaron a Jesús.
Varones hermanos, convino que se cumpliese la Escritura, la cual dijo antes el Espíritu Santo por la boca de David, de Judas, que fué guía de los que prendieron á Jesús;
Men and brethren, this scripture must needs have been fulfilled, which the Holy Ghost by the mouth of David spake before concerning Judas, which was guide to them that took Jesus.
“Brothers, it was necessary that this Scripture should be fulfilled, which the Holy Spirit spoke before by the mouth of David concerning Judas, who was guide to those who took Jesus.
Pues él fue uno de nosotros y recibió su parte de los beneficios de este ministerio."
El cuál era contado con nosotros, y tenía suerte en este ministerio.
For he was numbered with us, and had obtained part of this ministry.

(Ahora este hombre compró un terreno con las ganancias que él recibió de su maldad, y de allí él cayó de cabeza y su cuerpo se reventó y todas sus entrañas se regaron.
Este, pues, adquirió un campo del salario de su iniquidad, y colgándose, reventó por medio, y todas sus entrañas se derramaron.
Now this man purchased a field with the reward of iniquity; and falling headlong, he burst asunder in the midst, and all his bowels gushed out.
Now this man obtained a field with the reward for his wickedness; and falling headlong, his body burst open and all his intestines gushed out.
Todos aquellos que vivían en Jerusalén oyeron acerca de esto, así que ellos llamaron aquel campo en su lengua "Acéldama," eso es, "Campo de Sangre.")
Y fué notorio á todos los moradores de Jerusalem; de tal manera que aquel campo es llamado en su propia lengua, Acéldama, que es, Campo de sangre.
And it was known unto all the dwellers at Jerusalem; insomuch as that field is called in their proper tongue, Aceldama, that is to say, The field of blood.
It became known to everyone who lived in Jerusalem that in their language that field was called ‘Akeldama,’ that is, ‘The field of blood.’
"Porque está escrito en el libro de Salmos: 'QUE SU TERRENO SEA DESOLADO, Y NO PERMITAN QUE NI SIQUIERA UNA PERSONA VIVA ALLÍ.' 'QUE ALGUIEN MÁS OCUPE SU POSICIÓN DE LIDERAZGO.'
Porque está escrito en el libro de los salmos: Sea hecha desierta su habitación, y no haya quien more en ella; y: Tome otro su obispado.
For it is written in the book of Psalms, Let his habitation be desolate, and let no man dwell therein: and his bishoprick let another take.

Es necesario, por lo tanto, que uno de los hombres que nos acompañaron todo el tiempo en que el Señor Jesús entraba y salía de entre nosotros,
Conviene, pues, que de estos hombres que han estado juntos con nosotros todo el tiempo que el Señor Jesús entró y salió entre nosotros,
Wherefore of these men which have companied with us all the time that the Lord Jesus went in and out among us,
“Of the men therefore who have accompanied us all the time that the Lord Jesus went in and out among us,
comenzando desde el bautismo de Juan hasta el día en que Él fue llevado de nosotros hacia arriba, tiene que ser un testigo con nosotros de Su resurrección."

Ellos pusieron adelante a dos hombres, José, llamado Barsabás, quien también era llamado Justo y a Matías.
Y señalaron á dos: á José, llamado Barsabas, que tenía por sobrenombre Justo, y á Matías.
And they appointed two, Joseph called Barsabas, who was surnamed Justus, and Matthias.
They put forward two: Joseph called Barsabbas, who was also called Justus, and Matthias.
Ellos oraron y dijeron: "Tú, Señor, conoces los corazones de toda la gente, así que revélanos cuál de estos dos es a quien Tú has escogido
