Paulus aber sagte zu ihnen: Sie haben uns ohne Urteil öffentlich prügeln lassen, die wir römische Bürger sind, und haben uns ins Gefängnis geworfen, und nun weisen sie uns heimlich hinaus? Nicht doch, sondern sie mögen selbst kommen und uns hinausführen.
Entonces Pablo les dijo: Azotados públicamente sin ser condenados, siendo hombres Romanos, nos echaron en la cárcel; y ¿ahora nos echan encubiertamente? No, de cierto, sino vengan ellos y sáquennos.
But Paul said unto them, They have beaten us openly uncondemned, being Romans, and have cast us into prison; and now do they thrust us out privily? nay verily; but let them come themselves and fetch us out.
But Paul said to them, “They have beaten us publicly without a trial, men who are Romans, and have cast us into prison! Do they now release us secretly? No, most certainly, but let them come themselves and bring us out!”
