Y las cosas que escuchaste sobre mí entre muchos testigos, encomiéndaselas a personas fieles, quienes serán capaces de enseñar a otros también.
Y lo que has oído de mí entre muchos testigos, esto encarga á los hombres fieles que serán idóneos para enseñar también á otros.
And the things that thou hast heard of me among many witnesses, the same commit thou to faithful men, who shall be able to teach others also.

Sufre dificultades conmigo, como un buen soldado de Cristo Jesús.
Tú pues, sufre trabajos como fiel soldado de Jesucristo.

Ningún soldado sirve mientras está enredado en los asuntos de esta vida, para que así él pueda complacer a su oficial superior.
Ninguno que milita se embaraza en los negocios de la vida; á fin de agradar á aquel que lo tomó por soldado.
No man that warreth entangleth himself with the affairs of this life; that he may please him who hath chosen him to be a soldier.
No soldier on duty entangles himself in the affairs of life, that he may please him who enrolled him as a soldier.
También, si alguien compite como atleta, él no será coronado a menos que compita por las reglas.
Y aun también el que lidia, no es coronado si no lidiare legítimamente.
And if a man also strive for masteries, yet is he not crowned, except he strive lawfully.
Also, if anyone competes in athletics, he isn’t crowned unless he has competed by the rules.
Es necesario que el granjero trabajador reciba su porción de la cosecha primero.
El labrador, para recibir los frutos, es menester que trabaje primero.
The husbandman that laboureth must be first partaker of the fruits.

Piensa acerca de lo que estoy diciendo, para que Dios te de entendimiento en todo.

Recuerda a Cristo Jesús, de la línea familiar de David, quien fue resucitado de entre los muertos. Esto es de acuerdo a mi mensaje del evangelio,
Acuérdate que Jesucristo, el cual fué de la simiente de David, resucitó de los muertos conforme á mi evangelio;
Remember that Jesus Christ of the seed of David was raised from the dead according to my gospel:
Remember Jesus Christ, risen from the dead, of the offspring of David, according to my Good News,
por el cual yo sufro a tal punto de ser encadenado como un criminal. Pero la palabra de Dios no está encadenada.
En el que sufro trabajo, hasta las prisiones á modo de malhechor; mas la palabra de Dios no está presa.
Where in I suffer trouble, as an evil doer, even unto bonds; but the word of God is not bound.
in which I suffer hardship to the point of chains as a criminal. But God’s word isn’t chained.
Por lo tanto, yo resisto todas estas cosas por aquéllos que fueron escogidos, para que también puedan obtener la salvación que es en Cristo Jesús, con gloria eterna.

Si nosotros resistimos, nosotros también reinaremos con Él. Si nosotros Le negamos, Él también nos negará.
Si sufrimos, también reinaremos con él: si negáremos, él también nos negará:
If we suffer, we shall also reign with him: if we deny him, he also will deny us:
If we endure, we will also reign with him. If we deny him, he also will deny us.
Si nosotros somos infieles, Él se mantiene fiel, porque Él no puede negarse a Sí Mismo."
Si fuéremos infieles, él permanece fiel: no se puede negar á sí mismo.
If we believe not, yet he abideth faithful: he can not deny himself.
If we are faithless, he remains faithful; for he can’t deny himself.”
Mantente recordándoles a ellos estas cosas. Adviérteles delante de Dios a no pelear sobre palabras. Porque hacer eso no es beneficioso. Por esto es que hay destrucción a aquéllos que lo escuchan.
Recuérdales esto, protestando delante del Señor que no contiendan en palabras, lo cual para nada aprovecha, antes trastorna á los oyentes.
Of these things put them in remembrance, charging them before the Lord that they strive not about words to no profit, but to the subverting of the hearers.
Remind them of these things, charging them in the sight of the Lord that they don’t argue about words to no profit, to the subverting of those who hear.
Haz lo mejor para presentarte a ti mismo aprobado ante Dios como un trabajador sin vergüenza. Manejando correctamente la palabra de verdad.
Procura con diligencia presentarte á Dios aprobado, como obrero que no tiene de qué avergonzarse, que traza bien la palabra de verdad.
Study to shew thyself approved unto God, a workman that needeth not to be ashamed, rightly dividing the word of truth.
Give diligence to present yourself approved by God, a workman who doesn’t need to be ashamed, properly handling the Word of Truth.
Evita el hablar profano, lo que lleva más y más a la perdición.
Mas evita profanas y vanas parlerías; porque muy adelante irán en la impiedad.
But shun profane and vain babblings: for they will increase unto more ungodliness.

Sus palabras se difundirán como gangrena. Entre los cuales están Himeneo y Fileto.

Estos son hombres que se han desviado de la verdad. Ellos dicen que la resurrección ya ha sucedido. Ellos revocan la fe de algunos.

Sin embargo, el fundamento firme de Dios permanece. Tiene esta inscripción: "El Señor conoce aquellos quienes son de Él," y "Todo aquel que mencione el nombre del Señor tiene que apartarse de toda maldad".
Pero el fundamento de Dios está firme, teniendo este sello: Conoce el Señor á los que son suyos; y: Apártese de iniquidad todo aquel que invoca el nombre de Cristo.
Nevertheless the foundation of God standeth sure, having this seal, The Lord knoweth them that are his. And, Let every one that nameth the name of Christ depart from iniquity.
However, God’s firm foundation stands, having this seal: “The Lord knows those who are his,” and, “Let every one who names the name of the Lord depart from unrighteousness.”
En una casa rica no sólo hay vasijas de oro y plata. Pero también hay vasijas de madera y arcilla. Algunas para uso honorable y algunas para uso deshonroso.
Mas en una casa grande, no solamente hay vasos de oro y de plata, sino también de madera y de barro: y asimismo unos para honra, y otros para deshonra.
But in a great house there are not only vessels of gold and of silver, but also of wood and of earth; and some to honour, and some to dishonour.

Si alguno se limpia a sí mismo del uso deshonroso, el es una vasija honorable. Es colocado aparte, útil para el Maestro, y preparado para toda buena obra.
Así que, si alguno se limpiare de estas cosas, será vaso para honra, santificado, y útil para los usos del Señor, y aparejado para todo buena obra.
If a man therefore purge himself from these, he shall be a vessel unto honour, sanctified, and meet for the master’s use, and prepared unto every good work.
If anyone therefore purges himself from these, he will be a vessel for honor, sanctified, and suitable for the master’s use, prepared for every good work.
Huye de las pasiones juveniles. Persigue la rectitud, fe, amor y paz, junto aquellos que claman al Señor con corazones limpios.
Huye también los deseos juveniles; y sigue la justicia, la fe, la caridad, la paz, con los que invocan al Señor de puro corazón.
Flee also youthful lusts: but follow righteousness, faith, charity, peace, with them that call on the Lord out of a pure heart.
Flee from youthful lusts; but pursue righteousness, faith, love, and peace with those who call on the Lord out of a pure heart.
Pero rechaza las preguntas tontas e ignorantes. Tu sabes que estas causan peleas.
Empero las cuestiones necias y sin sabiduría desecha, sabiendo que engendran contiendas.
But foolish and unlearned questions avoid, knowing that they do gender strifes.
But refuse foolish and ignorant questionings, knowing that they generate strife.
El siervo del Señor no debe pelear. Por el contrario el debe ser amable ante todo, capaz de enseñar y paciente.
Que el siervo del Señor no debe ser litigioso, sino manso para con todos, apto para enseñar, sufrido;
And the servant of the Lord must not strive; but be gentle unto all men, apt to teach, patient,
The Lord’s servant must not quarrel, but be gentle toward all, able to teach, patient,
El debe educar en mansedumbre a aquellos quienes se oponen a el. Dios quizás pueda darle a ellos el arrepentimiento por el conocimiento de la verdad.
Que con mansedumbre corrija á los que se oponen: si quizá Dios les dé que se arrepientan para conocer la verdad,
In meekness instructing those that oppose themselves; if God peradventure will give them repentance to the acknowledging of the truth;
in gentleness correcting those who oppose him. Perhaps God may give them repentance leading to a full knowledge of the truth,
Que ellos puedan estar sobrios otra vez, saliendo de la trampa del diablo, habiendo estado cautivos por él y su voluntad.
Y se zafen del lazo del diablo, en que están cautivos á voluntad de él.
And that they may recover themselves out of the snare of the devil, who are taken captive by him at his will.
